    I GOT TWO TODAY!

Congrats Raine! NSVs are the best! I'm gonna go check and see if I have a triangle of light or not right now :-) Lynda
  3. Decided to try on some smaller clothes today that I thought I will still need a month before I could wear and was surprised that I could fit comfortably. My girlfriend always says my clothes are baggy but that is what I have been comfortable with up to this point. May need to start shopping for clothes again.
  4. This afternoon we're going to a party for a friend we don't see much. (Hell, we don't see ANYONE much anymore; you know what life is like with kids.) The last time I saw this particular circle of people was probably in the summer of '03, when we went swimming at their lake club a couple of times. No one in this crowd is close enough to know about my banding, but they are close enough to remember what I used to look like. It feels like I should be excited and proud and happy to be seen, but I'm not. What's wrong with me? I can't even decide which would be worse, them asking about my weight loss or them not asking. Rather than a win-win situation, it feels like lose-lose. Blech. And the weird thing is that this feeling is coming on a day when I had an amazing NSV. Doing the laundry today I was moved to try on my husband's jeans. THEY FIT!!! I'd definitely even consider wearing them if I needed to. Holy crap!
  5. I dont know how many other people do this but whenever I come home I change into sweatpants/pjs. I have not been able to wear jeans for more than a few hrs comfortably in a long time! Well, on monday, I was home cleaning the kitchen and looked down and noticed that I never took my jeans off after taking ym daughter to school! I was comfy and kept them on all day as like a trophy. Maybe tmi right now: to top it of I am on my period this week, so normally nothing fits! It just felt awesome!

    My first NSV

I did it! :smile2: I fit into jeans a size smaller than before surgery!! The scale isn't acting like my friend these days, but obviously my band is :biggrin2:. Woooo Hoooo. Happy Dance!! ~Amy

    My first NSV

Good job so far with your weight loss and NSV's Chrisann. Have you ever been to the Bahamas before? I'm just not right if I don't get in a week of beach time a year! We haven't went to the Bahamas before, which island are you going to?

    Got High At Macy's!

    Got High At Macy's!

That is soooo awesome!! I'm so looking forward to THIS addiction!! Congrats on your super cool NSV!!
  10. I went to buy new bras and some new work tops today. When I got home my fiancé was being a good sport and looking at my findings. He looked at me and said "your cloths are getting so tiny!" Made my week!!!!
  11. I had a NSV yest. I ordered a few dresses on-line from Ann Taylor Loft. ( I didn't have the guts to go to the store, as I feared nothing would fit) When I received the dresses and tried them on, they were all too big! I then returned them to the store and picked out items to try on, again all too big! What a delight!
  12. I haven't had surgery yet (next Friday!) but I've been losing for the past few months and I'm 32 pounds down. I've been exercising almost daily and here are my NSV's -- I can see and feel muscular definition! Mostly in my arms and legs, but even in my abs when I do a crunch! I had to move the seat in the car forward. On the recumbent bikes at the gym, my butt fits in the seat now! (Before, it was uncomfortable because the seat has a back that isn't adjustable and so I always felt like I needed to scoot back but could not.) I'm wearing my wedding rings. (That's a big one.) I'm wearing clothing I haven't worn in a very long time, down from 24s to 20s. I even wore my Eddie Bauer size 18 jeans a couple times. I'm sleeping better - I must be snoring less, I think. And no reflux at night lately.
  13. I've had a lot of NSVs so far during my journey but nothing tops the one I had this morning... I got dressed while DH was in the shower - I'm working from home today so I put on a pair of jean capris and a form fitting racer back tank. When DH got out of the shower, his eyes got real big and he just looked me up and down and said "Damn"! I never knew one word could make me feel so good!

    My favorite NSV to date

WOW, what a great one! Thanks for posting it. I love hearing the good stuff and am so happy for people when they do post it. Gotta love the band and life when those NSVs happen.
  15. Wow - tomorrow is two weeks since my surgery on 12/28/05. I can't believe all the changes I've experienced already in such a short time: 10. The most rewarding change? I've already lost 20 pounds!:clap2: 9. I stopped drinking my beloved Diet Coke a couple days before surgery and I haven't had one since. I don't even miss it. 8. I told my co-workers I was retiring the candy dish from my desk when I went on Christmas vacation. It's still gone. I don't miss that either. 7. I haven't eaten fast food in a month. This I still miss, but I'm working on it. 6. I walked the stairs to my basement yesterday and couldn't figure out what was different. Then I figured it out: my knees weren't making noises and it didn't hurt to climb stairs anymore. 5. I'm actually getting satisfied, and even full on things like cream Soups. 4. I took the steri-strips off my incisions a couple days ago, and you can already barely see them. 3. I have been walking more. And I actually want to. 2. I noticed I was walking taller this morning instead of my normal hunch. And the number one revelation and NSV after two weeks: I worked through my first mourning session over food. Last week when I was nauseous :sick and couldn't drink anything, I was really upset. (I ended up in the hospital overnight with an IV and I'm fine now...) I was thinking about how I'd never be able to go out again and have a Chipotle chicken fajita bol with chips (a huge amount of food!), :hungry: but then I thought - why the h*ll would I still want to? That was a 'fat Kathy' behavior and I'm doing my best to stuff her under the bed and eventually out of my life forever. It will be great to get rid of that big ball and chain. I consider myself lucky avoiding 'Bandster hell' so far. I've read that before your first fill, lots of people have a hard time because they're so hungry. I'm going to make sure and schedule my first fill right at 6 weeks. Pre-surgery, I really appreciated having LBT as a great resource to prepare me. Now I'm looking forward to supporting others who haven't yet gone through it.

    Tired!

Ok, here's my list of things I am tired of... I needed to vent... 1. Fatigue is getting to me, holy crow. I need my metabolism or whatever it is to pick up like yesterday. Most of all, I am tired of being tired all the time. 2. Protein shakes. They don't disgust me, I just don't want them. I need to find portable-to-work foods on the soft foods diet that starts on Sunday, cause this 2-shakes-a-day crap has got to end soon. 3. Water. Oy, water. I don't want it, I don't like it anymore, it is the bane of my existence and I am not getting enough. I just can't force it down, Crystal Light or not. 4. Head hunger. My brain is still convinced that I can eat the way I was eating before the surgery. HA. Talk about eyes being bigger than stomach! 5. My clothes are ALREADY too big. I stood up and my pants fell down. Most of you are thinking, NSV! Except I hate clothes shopping. (Maybe I will hate it less as I can fit into smaller and smaller sizes...) 6. The smell of foods I can't have. Somebody brought Taco Bell in to work. OMG. I am sitting at my desk salivating. I suppose I could have pintos & cheese, but I wouldn't be able to blenderize it first and I'm still technically on purees... Ok, enough whining out of me. I needed to vent. Thanks for letting me. Now the positives... 1. I'm still here to BE tired. 2. No pain. 3. No nausea. 4. ABLE to drink enough water and eat purees without super-tight restriction. 5. Hitting my protein goals. 6. I have a lot to look forward to. I am trying to see it this way! So there's the flip side of the coin. I just have to remember it's there.

At work wearing my old scrubs (cuz I refuse to spend money on clothes right now) and realized that I can wrap my lab jacket around my body twice lol

    Still Shrinking!

That's a great life! Everyday a honeymoon ...... Good for you! Yes, NSVs do happen, and I need to pay more attention to them, instead of the scales. Today was a surprise for me as I did not expect that Long live NSVs!

    Amazing what you don't realize-NSV

I am awaiting surgery a week from tomorrow and am getting really excited. Feeling Really excited! Guess that in itself is a NSV. Ready to grow and go! thanks for the NSV site! I'll visit often! I know there will be many of them to come.
  23. I went to Open House at my kids' high school tonight. The last several years I went, I had to squeeze myself into the desks with the attached chairs. It was always so uncomfortable and embarrasing. It really made me feel bad for the teenagers who are overweight and would have to sit in those all day long. Tonight, without thinking about it (since it only happens once a year) I comfortably slid into one of those desks! It did not dawn on me right away, but suddenly I realized that I fit!! Not only did I fit, but I had plenty of room to turn, or slouch or cross my legs! Woo hoo!

    I Survived

Body surfing at a rock concert... now there's an NSV that is NOT one of my goals! That sounds like soooooo much fun. I always say if you aren't half deaf after a concert then you didn't get the full experience. Glad to hear you had such a good time - you deserve it!
  25. Today was my first visit since my surgery last week. Dr says everything is progressing great. I was shocked cuz I actually got to chew today even if it was purée. My husband works at a long term hospital so he brought me home some purée chicken, turkey, green Beans and broccoli(that I'm not allowed to have). Then another week of soft foods then 2 weeks from now I'll be on my lifestyle meal plan. I was surprised that I was going to go thur the meal plans so quickly. I'm so excited...NSV!!!! Oh and I've lost 9 lbs to boot since surgery!!!! Lovin' 2013!!!!
