I have noticed a great deal of hair loss after I shower. I mean a handfull sometimes. I guess I am not getting the correct amount of protein in. I certainly try. I have noticed some people say that it goes away - do they mean after they have had enough of protein or even if they don't get the right amount of protein it goes away in time? I go for my 4th fill today.

Thanks! I used to run before gaining weight, but with the weight came major foot problems. Once I was banded, I decided that if I could get to a normal weight and my feet allowed it, I would start running again. After the weight loss, I have no foot, knee, or ankle pain. Now I get a runner's high, which I never had before! I ran a half marathon in Jan., and will run the Chicago Marathon in Oct.!

Yea, its been forever! That is great to hear about you loss! I have lost 70lbs so far. It is difficult at times to break the stalls. My own fault! I have a new tool, my wife has just got on board with the weight loss idea, this makes it easier to persuade her not to bring in those nasty little treat! You should post pics, I bet you are smokin hot!! Lets see!!!!!!

I have been banded for 2 years in September. I only lost about 60 pounds My weight loss has slowed down lately . I read a book about the band. the writer suggested that we should have a support group. So here I am, looking for support

I'm in the mushy phase too. I'm so happy I can eat fish (not pureed). But, like most people on here my weight loss stopped as soon as I started this phase. Oh well, at least I feel almost back to normal. Except I have been very sleepy this week.

Just starting out trying to get the lapband. Consult done, 6 months supervised wt. loss done, Phys. Eval done, still needing to do sleep study then wait on insurance approval....what should I do while I wait?

Hi, I saw you responded to my WW post. Just wanted to keep in touch to see how it was going for you. (If you joined) I did, Thursday will be 2 weeks. My first week I lost 3.8 which was exciting. I really like the new program. Fingers crossed on some weight loss this week, I had family parties over the weekend (those are always great sabotagers! lol)

Hi Dee, You asked on my blog how long I've had my band and how I'm doing.
I've had my band since 10/16/2008 and I have lost 87 pounds. I love my band and I know if I followed the rules better I would have a larger weight loss. I have been excersing and I think I am losing inches but I have been stuck in the same area for a bout 3 months now. I haven't been to my dr. since Dec but I have an appt and hope to have atleast a 1 cc fill on Wednesday. I hope to get the weight loss moving again soon!!
Thanks for responding!!!

Janet, Thank you for the information. It's good to have someone to help know if what you are experiencing is normal or not. I'm so sorry for your loss. Three friends? My prayers are with you and their families.

Hi thin-at-heart,
Keep the faith girlfriend! I, too, am hopeful that the lapband and weight loss will help with other health issues. Let's pray for wonderful HEALTHY results! I'm getting banded on 4/23 so we are super close! We can do it!!!!!

You'll do fine at your doc's appointment!
I can't wait to hear how you do. I was down 14 lbs at mine last week but I think I've lost about 5-6 since then. The scale is REALLY moving all of the sudden.
I'm still sticking to a pretty strict regimen. I drink a protein shake every morning for breakfast. Lunch is something small and packed with protein. I eat a TON of chicken and turkey. Protein first!
Dinners are less than 1/2 of what I used to eat. Last night was 1/2 of a chicken wrap. Sadly, my hubby has GAINED 5+ lbs, but I think it's because he keeps finishing my meals. I have to get him to stop that.
I'm worried because I'm going out of town this weekend and will inevitably bloat. I don't want to go into my doctor's office on Monday for my first fill and be up or not show any more weight loss.
So, I'm trying to figure that out.
Good luck to you! HUGS!

Sorry for the delay in response. I certainly hope that your surgery went well. Dr. Fox was an excellent surgeon and has great aftercare. As long as you follow what you are supposed to do you should not have any complications. I haven't had any issues physically with the band. The only thing that I have had problems with is in the morning I have to drink something hot before I eat because I feel super restricted during that time. I have finally given up all bread and pastas and Dr. Fox will stay on you regarding those. I like hime because he is very honest and doesn't baby like some other surgeons I know. He has stayed on me with my weight loss. Some other things he tells you to stay away from is cheese. I am here if you have any questions or need to talk. I am so happy I had the surgery. I am 16 months post op and I have lost 45 lbs which is my halfway goal. It is a slow process but that is the way it should be. Let me know how things went! And Congrats!!!!

Thanks Betsy....we were just having this dicussion in my support group tonight, but no one knew the dose. One thing they (the folks that have already been banded) all agreed on was they all had some degree of hair loss between 3 and 9 months post op, but as you said it does resolve. Thanks again!

I'm doing great. It's as if I never had surgery. The weight loss has stopped though and I am falling back to old habits. Need that fill soon
How are you doing?

Hi Lety! 20 lbs in 6 weeks is great! My tips for you is....take a pix of yourself every 10 lbs at loss, in the same outfit! For my before pix...I used a shirt and shorts that were to small on me....because I wanted to them get loose....then to the point where they just fell off of me! Find a workout that you love doing and do it!!! Mine is Jazzercise, its a GREAT TOTAL body workout and its so much fun! I do that 5 to 6 times per week. When eating....think about how little you can eat...vs. how much food can you get down....if you think like that, you'll never lose all your weight! Stay positive, some months you might lose 6 to 8 lbs....some months you might not lose any...it's very normal!
I wish you the best of luck! Keep in touch and let me know how your doing! =)
