  1. Idk if I'm in a stall or doing something wrong but I'm getting frustrated! Is there another time that is known for stalls? I'm at 4.5 months

    Any May 2014 sleevers?

I was sleeved on 5/6. Down 44lbs to date. I hit a 3 week stall last month. It was extremely frustrating but I hung on cause I could tell I was still losing inches even though the scale was not budging. Additionally I now have regular BMs. My only major issue is still drinking water so I have been making/ drinking infused water. That goes down well. As far as meats are concerned, I am able to eat everything. I also exercise at least 5-6 times a week for an hour. Absolutely grateful for my sleeve and wishing everyone continued success.
  3. Yes! I had the dreaded 3 week stall also and that lasted for two weeks. I am now about 10 weeks out and just hit a stall again, but I was just under 300 for a long time. I hope I don't keep stalling every 5-6 weeks!
  4. I'm in the same boat. :/ I was sleeved on 3/31 and given the goal to lose 20-25 lbs per month. On surgery day, I weighed 330. The first month, I lost about 25 and then 10 the 2nd month and about 10 the 3rd. I went through the famous 3 week stall... and I bounce back and forth between 5lbs. It's frustrating. Unfortunately, my bariatric team is 2 hours north of me and I had to postpone my 3 month appt. I'm thinking I should check in with them and see what kind of advice they have for me. Just wanted to chime in that you're not alone.

    Weight loss post op

Thanks everyone! I will search for the 3 week stalls. I know it's a slow progression but that quick weight loss was great. I want this to be a permanent fix to my previous problem, so I will be patient.
  6. Hello. I was just wondering what is the 3 week stall. I am 16 days out.

    Weight loss post op

You should post this in the Stalls forum..... http://www.bariatricpal.com/forum/1102-dont-sweat-the-stall-stuff-new/ And do a search for 3 week stall / not losing on here. There are DOZENS of threads that will answer your question. Do a little research and you will find this happens to everyone.
  8. Great! I love that this is here. I for one promise to look here first when I have my "3 week stall" before I start freaking out and starting a new thread lol
  9. Here is a link to an article from magazine section on the site. It's great 'food' for thought. http://www.bariatricpal.com/page/articles.html/_/plateaus-and-regain/breaking-a-weight-loss-plateau-r46 Also, check out this 3 Week Stall explanation. It makes sense to me. (Thanks Kindle!!) http://www.dsfacts.com/weight-loss-stall-or-plateau.html#.U7I2Stq9KSN From my personal experience, which is limited, if you have stalled for a bit, look for the non-scale changes. When my weight change slows, I find that my body is shifting. This is when I see the bigger changes in inches and other things like stamina. Bottom line, we all go through stalls, and we get past them. Keep working your program and it will work for you!!
  10. I just wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone who posts from their personal experience and share their stories with others. I am in that dreaded 3 week stall with about 5 days of losing no weight. However, I'm out 23 days and have lost 22 pounds, so with all the info I get here and all the support I've seen others receive, I know it's NORMAL!!! And I'll get through it and I'm not through losing weight and I'll be fine next week and the week after and I will reach my goals! Thanks to all of you who help! Ginger
  11. Urgrrrr I hit the 3 week stall the past few days. I've also been getting hungrier lately and cravings are slowly coming back. I made my son a grilled cheese Sammie last night and I wanted it bad, I didn't. I am traveling next week for 10 days. I'm a bit nervous about the plane days and family questioning my eating. I have been walking and intermittent jogging on my walks. Feels great!
  12. This is the one I was thinking of (especially for the "3 week stall"), but I'm sure there are others. I know Alex wrote one, too and I think it's in the Magazine section. http://www.dsfacts.com/weight-loss-stall-or-plateau.html#.U7I2Stq9KSN
  13. It's the 2-3 week stall it will pass just keep eating correctly

    Stalled!

It's the "3 week stall". We promise it passes. It's very, very frustrating but it will pass. Stick to the program.
  15. I stalled at 3 weeks and as I am approaching my 4th I am still stalled-it is frustrating to stall so soon but after reading lots of posts on this web site a 3 week stall is normal. Just gotta push through!
  16. Hey Leanne. How are you? Sorry I've been a bit AWOL. Work this week has been tiring, I had Thursday off. I've also hit the dreaded 3 week stall so hope it shifts soon. Since pre op I've lost 16kgs so that's pretty good. Over this crappy weather. I really wanna go for some walks!! Hopefully tomorrow. I was excited though, I'm fitting into size 24. Considering I was struggling with size 26 I'm happy with that. How are you all going??

    Follow-up today

Sounds like good advice - and I have to say, I've never once regretted doing what my doc said in terms of protocol. Each case is different of course, but erring on caution's side sounds wise. Hang in there - with a loss that significant you'll do great and maybe skip the dreaded 3 week stall. I sure wish I'd lost that much my first two weeks!! Way to go!

    Stalled!

Hi everyone! Relax, you guys are hitting the dreaded 3 week stall! Most people have gone through it.. Just keep doing what you are doing and the scale will start moving again! No worries;) congrats on the weight loss so far!

    Any February 2014 Sleevers?

I had a 3 week stall too. It will pass. It's just annoying!! Congrats on the wedding!
  20. @ member Happy..,Your doctor is absolutely wrong about the stall! I had a 3 week stall at 5 weeks post op. During that time I wasn't getting in enough protein because dense protein made me full too quickly. I took the advice of several members on this site about increasing my protein. I did this by adding an extra protein shake daily. By increasing my protein I broke the stall and lost 8 pounds in 2 weeks. Trying increasing your protein and water intake and decrease your carb intake and you will do well.
  21. I was told that a 3 week stall is quite common because they body is adjusting to the surgery. It happened to me and then I lost 4 lbs. this fourth week.

    Tired

Yep. Feeling tired at this stage is normal. I think part of it is that you're not getting a lot of nutrition and the other part is that as you lose fat, the hormones and toxins stored there make you feel icky on the way out. Also, at least for me, I did not lose much during the puree phase. Perhaps that was my (typical) 3 week stall. You'll have a few ups among the downs on the scale even when doing everything by the book. It's just your body adjusting. Just keep working your plan and it'll come off.

Any May 20th surgeries out there?

The dreaded 3 week stall is upon me... Today is 4 weeks out, and down 32 lbs... 22 since surgery , but scale hasn't moved in 5 days! Hoping I wake up tomorrow with a loss Other than that... No issues, feeling pretty good, 1 more week to soft foods!! How is everyone else doing? I do find it a hard time getting all my fluids in now that I'm eating purée... Because of having to wait 45 minutes after eating to drink .. I guess thAt will get better with time !
  24. NOt sure what your starting weight is but I pretty much at 3 week stall also...I up my water and then I lost about 5lbs but nothing more since then I have only lost about 21lbs and still have 123 more to lose...I cry and then I cheat...DON'T JUDGE ME! PLEASE
  25. So tomorrow will mark 6 weeks post op. The first 3 weeks I was able to lose 34lbs but I have stalled for the last 3. My NUT keeps telling me it happens but I am getting really concerned. Scale has only gone down 1lb! Yikes! Am working out as of last week and just praying for things to shake up cause it's depressing...
