Jsrico......running, how cool! Great Job!!! Good for you, what an NSV!!! Mcgreen, great job on the weight loss so far, I was banded the same day and I am down 33 lbs. I went to the doc today but did not get a fill. I have not had one yet but he said as long as I am still losing and not starving that I should hold off. As far as portions, I am okay during the day, its at dinner that I feel I can eat more but my family is already trained to take my portion!!!!! Thank goodness for growing boys....there aren't any leftovers for me to snack on LOL. Keep up the good work, Maureen

    awww what a great nsv!
  4. Hi Tammie Congrats on being banded! Calories- most common range is 1200-1400/day. I really don't count, I just try to make good choices. Protein- A range from 60-90 grams (not milligrams). Bending over- Check with your doctor. I'm shocked you can't bend over now being banded a month ago. I was pretty much at 100% at 6 weeks out. PB- "Poductive Burp" which is actually upchucking food when it isn't chewed well enough or too dry. Experience and a proper fill will greatly reduce these occurrances. NSV-"Non scale Victory" i.e. fitting into a size smaller jeans. Good luck on your journey! Bruce
  5. Hello, I'm fairly new LBT but love it soooo much!!! I was banded on June 19, 2007 and have not had my first fill yet. But I have a few questions that I was hoping someone could answer for me. (1) How many calories am I supposed to be consuming daily for weight loss? (2) How many milligrams of Protein daily? (3) How long before I can "safely" bend over to retrieve something off the floor or exercise? And finally..... (4) What do the abbreviations "PB" & NSV" stand for? Thanks to all for any help you can give me. You all are doing WONDERFULLY!:clap2:. Have a happy day:nervous Tgirl

Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters

Dmtjet, I wonder sometimes about people. I love them, but...gees. PattiC, look at those NSV (non-scale victories) already! Good for you. Lynette, I probably should've just left, too. I thought GNC did make an unflavored protein powder. Who knows. Maybe I'll research it on their website before I go in there. I want as little interaction w/them as possible.

I just saw another post that was about Drivers license and she said it was the first time she actually weighed less than what was on her drivers license, and I realized oh man me too alot less and the picture on my license looks like it could be my Mom, my birthday is next month and (I have to get a new one) I could keep my picture but no way, I have worked hard to get it I am gonna smile for the camera!! Congrats on your NSV, the difference is amazing!

So, with getting married and changing my last name, I got a new drivers license. My old drivers license had the original picture on it from when I was 17 (which is years before my highest weight). Holy. Crap. http://www.joygraffix.com/holycrap.jpg I'm honestly as disgusted by this as I am excited by it.

You guys are doing great....do not get down! Think of where we would be without the band....I know I would be gaining not losing or even maintaining. The sweet spot will come for all of us.......remember we are aMayzing bandsters and its only July! You have all helped me with kind words when I was feeling cranky so here is my "pick your chin up and be proud of yourselves speech" It will all be worth it in the end! Think of some things that have already changed for you.....I am sure you have all had a NSV. Sending Happy band waves your way...... Maureen

Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters

Stuffed zuccini sounds divine.. I LOVE zuccini.. and italian sausage. We're going grocery shopping tonight, we didn't buy very much when we moved since we knew we were going out of town for a while, so I'm looking up recipes to make.. got one now!! Mdrai- We used the whipped cream cheese, but either one you get, the recipe tells you to beat (in a blender) the cream cheese with the 2 sugars.. then mix in by hand the grapes and walnuts. I don't know if the whipped version comes light or low-fat which is how we're making it this Sunday, but either way just leave it out for about 10 minutes to soften it a bit then blend. I was skeptical of this salad at first, but once I took a bite I was in a food heaven LOL! So far today, it's 11:30 and I've had a bottle of water, a cup of coffee with non-dairy creamer and sweet-n-low, and 5 cigarettes! Been pretty busy today, one of my main CSR's (Customer Service Rep) was fired while I was gone, so I'm having to take care of my customers while they're getting use to whatever new CSR they were assigned.. plus they will be getting a new CSR soon, the assignment is temporary.. it's a headache.. and every other customer wants to know why she was fired, and of course we can't give out info.. so I just have to chit chat and laugh and make small talk and say "I don't know, they didn't tell us"..then listen to them speculate why they think she was fired. Weee!! Last month was my worst sales since I've been here, and I was going up in great intervals 15-20k more each month...I was bummed, then I found out June is the slowest month for this business, and everyone's numbers are always down in June. So far from the daily reports, I'm back on track for July. Whew. Our busy season starts in August.. when I started last June, I didn't get my first customer until about September, and it was a slow start. I had comparible sales with the alumni sales around January of this year, so this will be my first busy season with a lot of customers. I'm very anxious.. come on $$!!! Got an engagement ring and lay-z-boys to pay off (which came yesterday and OMG I love em).. and then I want to get a new bed... I always have a list of things I want, I love decorating the house.. and it seems by time I pay off some furniture I'm ready for something new. We have a queen bed, and it's so uncomfortable, we have had it for 2 years.. it's one of those stupid designs you can't flip over because one side is hard and flat like a boxspring. I noticed though, more and more people are going to that. It's so silly and wasteful.. Our bed is worn out on the side we sleep on, and I should be able to flip it over!!!! My walking back pain is gone, I was so excited.. the whole time in vegas we walked miles and miles to and from casinos.. and I never had my excruciating back pain which I normally get from walking in a grocery store for 5 minutes. That was the biggest NSV for me since surgery. Yay for the weightloss But, I do get horrible back pains from my bed still. I blame the bed though.

    June 2007 Bandsters

Yes, I'm Australian MVR. Bandsters are really ripped off at those all-you-can-eat places. I'm going for my 2nd fill tomorrow too. I'm sure I've put on weight but I always think that. Hopefully, I'll post back with a loss.. I have to remember that it's not a race and it's not a diet club. We won't start really losing until we're properly filled. I was fine the first few days after my first fill but then the restriction went away. I don't have high hopes for the 2nd fill. I'm thinking the 4th might be more realistic. So what's everyone else up to besides obsessing over weight? Any NSVs? ETA: Hair loss. I had an undiagnosed thyroid problem for several years. I used to have gorgeous hair but it thinned to the point of baldness along the part. Luckily I'm tall, so it goes unnoticed for the most part but it was really, really bad for a while. It started to grow back a little once my thyroid issues were corrected. I'm a blond but it grew back a brownish colour. It was really funny as it was never as long as the rest of my hair. I hope it doesn't drop out again now but I'll live if it does. My aunt has lost all her hair in chemo just now, so I have some perspective for the moment. Just want to say that it *can* grow back and you won't be bald for life.
  13. :welcomeB: Lorien and vamaillady! Lizrbit: I also have the small AP, I haven't had a fill yet, but don't want to just get a measy little 2 cc's in my darned band for my first fill. Was it your surgeon's choice for the 6.5, was it a request of yours, was it based on how much you were filled before you lost your first band, or was it his usual practice to fill that much on the first fill? I know, loads of questions, but I want to go in prepared for my first fill. And CONGRATS!!!! Great NSV and goodonya on your renewed confidence in your ability to work this band.
  14. OH..and a significant NSV... im at the chicago airport right now flying home. three flights. For THE FIRST TIME IN MANY YEARS... im flying without having to use an extention. NO extentions! woo! no no no..no extension for me thank you. No i wont be using an extension today. it was a suprise to discover. woo!
  15. Just popping in again when I should be editing (trust me, Terry, if I could take a "me" day, I would, but that's what got me into this mess, so... I'll just defer it a bit!)... Jenn... keep posting your 400 cal menus so we can see what you're eating. I love seeing people's menus. I'm weird that way. Yay Laura on the NSVs! Sorry I must've sounded like your mom, Tracy, re: the smiling... Back to work!

gonna have to try the slushies at 7/11!! Haven't seen them yet in MI, I usually get the unsweetened iced tea. Thanks for the tip Tammy! Denise, well DD will be home Thurs night......the team from "while you were out" didn't show up! Damn! , so DH and I have been working our butts off trying to get this room done. So, instead of hitting the bike trail this am, I got up at 5:30 a.m. and put another coat of paint on the walls and desk. I have curtains to sew, another coat of pain on everything, carpet to steam clean, did I mention I work 9-5? Another late night! Congrads to all with NSV's It feels great to have victories, no matter how small, they will all add up soon.

    Good day for an NSV

My weight hasn't changed all week, which considering the amount of calories I am consuming seems unbelievable. So getting dressed this morning delivered a much needed NSV. My "skinny" jeans - hardly skinny but jeans that have never fit well - feel pretty darn good and a shirt that I tried on a week ago suddenly has room to spare. The shirt really threw me because I had tried it on just a bit ago and decided it made me look pregnant. Now, it is loose in the stomach and doesn't leave an imprint across my butt from being so tight. It's amazing what an NSV can do for your mood. Plateau, schmateau.... Though I still hope to see the numbers actually go down soon!
