I'm 2 months out from surgery and am down 85 pounds total (45 since surgery). I am extremely happy with my weight loss so far, and when I got on the scale this morning I was down into the next 10!! Here are my NSV's: 1. I got to go shopping and buy pants and a bathing suit TWO sizes smaller!! 2. I pulled out a pair of pants that I have never been able to wear because they were too small and I was too embarrassed to send them back, I put them on and they are HUGE on me. 3. My stomach no longer touches the steering wheel when I sit in the car, even with the seat pulled forward. I'm so happy with my decision and I'm finally starting to feel great for the first time since surgery (and really for the first time in years)!!

I now weigh less than my husband, and, for the first time ever, I wore his T-shirt to sleep in!!!! Yay!!! I am so excited! I not only wore it, but is was loose :) :)

So I'm trying to forget about the numbers on the scale for the moment. Despite losing 94lbs in 8 months I'm still disappointed with the number but oh well. I'm concentrating on NSV Able to comfortably sit in an airplane seat - no seat beat extension Able to comfortably wear a pair of heels [emoji151] YES!! Gone from a size 26 to 16 which I never ever though I'd get here again Exercising loads and my stamina has risen beyond expectation Able to do a 45seconds plank which is a huge achievement for me Last but not least ABLE TO CROSS MY LEGS!!!!! OMG I've never been able to do this but now my legs naturally want to cross So don't beat yourself up about the numbers. Look and be happy with those NSV!!

When does the weight start coming off fast
Mindy78 replied to ayanna_vsg's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My weight never was fast, almost 6 months out. I lost a 3-4 lbs a week. On another note I didn't plateau like a lot of people either. Hit my first plateau for 2 weeks this month. Don't stress it. The scale will move if you follow dr plan and enjoy the nsv in the meantime. When my scale stops it seems I loose pant sizes. I was 262preop liquid 251 surgery day 199 today my high ever was 334 a few years ago and 292 last January when I started so I'll take it. -
Great NSVs, keep up the good work.

Do I ever know what you're talking about! I am sliding easily into booths now too. Another NSV is that I am 4 inched from the steering wheel that just a couple of months ago was poking me in the belly. I can look down and see my lap! Aren't we silly?

What an awesome NSV! I know how big of a deal this is. When I was a kid, I always wanted to eat at Big Boy because they had comics and crayons for kids. I loved that, but our local Big Boy only had booths, so my dad couldn't eat there. He was over 400 pounds. I never realized he couldn't sit in a booth until one day I was really begging to eat at Big Boy, and he had to explain why we couldn't. Booths are evil. Does anyone else watch MIke and Molly? The other day's episode had Mike, Molly and one other heavy person sitting at a booth in the diner. I missed the dialogue because I just couldn't get over the fact that they were sitting in a booth. The show gets so many things right about being overweight, and it threw me off to realize they were sitting in a booth.

Ok, today is my 13 week surgiversary and weight loss in the last few weeks has put me at a stall. I started losing again about two days ago and I am officially 61lbs down. This is not my exciting news. The exciting part is that my primary doc just updated all my blood work and My A1c came in at 6.0, which is (barely)considered normal/non-diabetic. I have been off my diabetic meds for 15 weeks. I used to take a pill twice a day and a shot once a week, but for the time being I'm off all medication! There has also been a reduction in my cholesterol of 26 points! Thank you to all of you who keep me encouraged. Also sharing a before and current pic!

Non Scale Victories. Things that get better in your life/diet without measuring on the scales. You might notice that your belt is now in a couple of notches. Your partner might tell your your upper arms are 'harder'. You might notice that because your arse is a little smaller, you have to move the car-seat forward to drive off. NSV Lesson 1 is over!

@@goblue9280 Great minds do indeed think alike! For the first few weeks after surgery, I didn't ever see myself having or setting NSV's. I had grown so used to just being a certain size, certain weight, a certain physical being that the idea of "losing weight" was very abstract. Now almost two months out, I am setting goals and looking forward to more "surprise" NSV's!

Is it too late to start again or did I totally screw up?
Fiskgyrl replied to Lovin2lose's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi Lovin2lose, I just got a surgery date and I was completely underwhelmed. I sorta fear the very thing you're dealing with, that I will discover that my root problem will rear its ugly head and i will not practice self-care. I am in therapy right now to deal with some of these issues. Are you currently seeing a therapist? It sounds like you should look at those roots that cause you to self -sabotage and not care for your body and mind. Just my two cents. I have heard of others resetting their pouches in 5 days by going back to a liquid diet. This could help with the weight loss but you may find yourself unable to even stick to this if you're in a pit. What does your support system IRL look like? Are you involved in any activities that you enjoy? Have you had any NSV? -
I have battled high blood pressure for about 10 years, starting in my early 20's (scary to start so young) and in the last 5 years had it moderated with diet and no meds. It was averaging reading of 130's over 90's and pulse rate was usually in the 90's. The past week I've been monitoring my BP and it has been averaging 110's over 60's with my pulse rate in the 60's!!!!!! One reading was even 108/52......AMAZING!!!!!! Thank you sleeve, lol.

Hi all, Just had to share the fact I now have some 38E pretty bras and they are lovely and they make my boobs look quite nice, with healthy cleavage rather than just loads of squeezed flesh, if you know what I mean. It's been so long since this has happened I am quite excited :001_huh:

Smart move! Well done, and let's hope this is just the first of many many NSVs! When i was 16 in lived in a group home, and all the other kids were tattooing themselves, but I flat out refused. There just was no way I was going to let some dumb kid give me a prison tattoo.... Needless to say, I was ostrasized from that group too... (or maybe I meant needleness... )

Sometimes it is just the small things.....
CHEZNOEL replied to Mrs. CMK's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Great NSV! Made me smile, because I had to have all my chains shortened and it was a great feeling! Congrats! -
I don't have a resolution this year. More of a promise to myself. I usually do the whole diet and exercise thing too. But this year I can focus on the shopping trip I'm planning with my daughter (because I really need clothes that fit) and the roller coasters I'm going to ride with my son when we go to amusement parks and all the other fun things I can finally do this year. So excited to start this year out not feeling dumpy and ashamed of myself because I once again let myself go instead of being committed. Such a great feeling to be proud of what you've accomplished and feel great about how you look. And all the little NSV's. I've never taken so many pictures with me in them before. Hope everybody else is feeling blessed for making the best decision we could have ever made.
