    June 2007 Bandsters

Well I ate 3 tacos last night for supper, and I was able to eat a whole breakfast burrito from McD's this morning, so I think I'll go for that 3rd fill next week, what'd'ya think?? I've heard if you can eat breakfast that you are not tight enough. I had a NSV?? Is that what ya'll call it? I put on a T-shirt this morning and I didn't even have to stretch the Hell out of it like I usually do! It just hung nicely, not snug, whoo hoo!

GOOD MORNING! Laura: Totally know what you mean about jeckyl and hyde syndrome!!!!!!!! Glad that the scale dropped for you though! Judy: If your still around............ HAVE A GREAT TRIP! Christy: Glad to see you post!!!!!!!!! Denise: How was last night, any dd news? Terry: How is the unfill working for you? TracyK: WELL ............. are we getting nipped and tucked?????? Pam: How is your eating going???? When is your next fill? Is your closet full yet? My scale dropped this morning! I really hope this restriction stays put, because I'm not hungry hardly at all.......... but I CAN eat. Also... kind of an NSV........ weird but ... OK so the last couple times I lost a bunch of weight 70-80lbs my belly gets this weird dent in it.... imagine looking down at your belly and seeing a lopsided bulge, almost like you lost half the fat out of the front..... so this morning I noticed the same damn dent appearing........ so it IS an NSV because it means that I am losing belly fat... I had remembered when I no longer noticed the dent (on the way UP the scale) also historically 224 is where I plateau......... one of those body "memory" points I guess.... so getting past it into the teens will be a BIG Scale Victory. I am wearing a fitted stretch size 16w blouse and stretch 14/16 pants today........ Yeah me!

Brandi--glad you are back to the bike! I did 15 miles today on the stationary. It is so damn hard to get goign on it, but once I do I am happy. I have a hard time stopping then! :girl_hug: Va--good for you girl, enjoy it! And good luck on the job hunt, not that you need it you smart cookie! Claud--have fun without us! lol.. Sweet--do you need a chaperone on your trip? I am more than happy to sacrifice my time to help a friend! lol...enjoy the trip! Congrats on the NSV. Doesn't it feel great?? I hope the shin splints get better soon! Ugh, I remember those damn things, they are killer! Steph--get off the oreos...lol...step away from those evil thoughts and leave the dark side! :Banane42: I got my new corset today for the phot shoot, damn it is hard to breathe in that thing! lol...but I look damn good, the girls spill right over the top! On the homefront, I am trying, but I am miserable. :girl_hug: I hate it. I love him but it is just not the same. Can it be fixed?????

    Steady losers ;-)

hey guys, crazy week! My shin splints are worse. I guess I did too much still. I've been walking my 4 miles and I also did aqua jogging, like water aerobics in German. so that's fun. I skipped soccer tonight because of the shin splints. I'm so depressed over this crap. I was doing so well jogging! why a set back. On a higher note. Next weekend we are going to beautiful Bavarian in Garmish Germany. It's right next to Austria. On the way there we will stop at the Neushwenstein castle, the one that disney modeled the cinderella castle after. then the next day we just explore the Bavarian. I'm so excited! It is the most picturesque place you could ever imagine! Nestled in the Swiss Alps. so i have sort of a NSV. I ordered new jeans from Aeropostale which runs a bit smallish and a few shirts and they all fit! and are super cute and even a bit big. size 13 in jeans and a large in shirts. so not where i hoped to be by now. but still feels good to be able to shop at a cute store.

The fried oreo saga continues - this morning on the radio they had a huge discussion about them! Too funny! DJ1 said why would you want to eat something thats full of trans fat into batter, lard, fried and smothered in powder sugar, DJ2 said bc they're good! He then went on to say I really don't think eating them once a year at the fair is going to kill anyone... it was just funny that we were talking about the greasy little buggers and then they were too. VA - wtg on the nsv!! always nice to hear it from someone else. I'd like to lose 30 lbs by our 1 year bandversary - but dang I need to work harder at the calorie count.

Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters

GOOD MORNING! Kat: Please let us know what is going on with your headache... and as for your MIL... well from what you've said about her she is a piece of work and her comments should just be filed under "hot air" You KNOW you are doing great! Laura: How was the concert???? Denise: I agree with you... until your dd is ready to do ANYTHING you need to hang tight. You are doing wonderfully! MS_JEN: Whooooooohoooooo on the Jean NSV. Prayers go out to your husband......... apple fritter sounds goooooooood TracyK: I too love the cut and color! Terry: Going in for unfill tomorrow? Pam: Leak check in Haydee: I know your busy with the move but we miss you around here. Judy: I LOVE your pics! Scone: How are you doing today? Jennifur: Where are you??? I woke up this morning feeling actual hip bones (when laying flat) I still have belly in the center but just the fact that I can now feel actual bones is a HUGE NSV......... so I thought.. MAYBE this would be the morning I could button the jeans....... so I got the gut sucker out of my drawer and wiggled it on.... put the jeans on and even though they did go over my hips better the BELLY STILL wouldn't budge..... dang it! But they are getting ever so close maybe two more weeks....... I have two pairs of size 14 Levis and about 5 pairs of size 12's............. my goal is to button the 12's by Christmas (they are mid rise boot cut stretch) My restriction is evident: I scrambled 3 eggs last night for dinner with a bit of cottage cheese and cheddar...... I gave my son the plate that had the bigger portion and then sprinkled some homeade salsa on top of mine... I DID NOT FINISH IT.. went down fine, I just got full fast. However I did get hungry again around 7 and I ate some spaghetti meat sauce...... it also went down fine............ all in all I would say I ate the equivalent of 1/2 cup at each sitting......... I wonder if this restriction will stick for a while. I have several must do projects today so I will check in when I can. WWJD!

I don't know if you all are doing this already...I've never heard anyone mention it...but are you taking your body measurements? With all my excercise, I'm not losing as fast as I would like, but my body fat percentage is plummeting and my inches are going down steadily. So that is a BIG NSV for me. My body fat percentage has gone from 43.4% to 37.2% as of this evening. (My goal is 25%, but I think I'd be happy with 28%.) I've lost 3.5" in my waist, 4" in my hips, 3.5" in my chest, 2.5" in my thigh, 2.5" in my calf and 2" in my bicep from surgery on June 8th to August 15th. (I measure on the 15th of each month.) That makes me feel better, even though the scale isn't moving down as much as I would like. My biggest dissappointment right now is that I won't make my August 31st goal of being under 200. That sucks. Hopefully next week I can make it, but hubby is coming home for three weeks, so I know he will want to be going out all the time, which means restaraunts, drinks, starbucks...you name it. I understand that, though. He's been gone for eight weeks offshore and is ready to hit dry land RUNNING. Thank goodness he won't be gone that long anymore. I miss my best friend!

Congrats to all! I just got back from vacation...the belt fit, I could even cinch it, and the tray table went down, and I could read my magazine while it was laying down flat on the table! It DOES feel great! NSV's are the best!

"normal" food intake after a fill

mikesmom - I, too, have been ashamed that I haven't lost hardly anything since the surgery...most of my loss was the pre-op diet and to top it off, I GAINED weight after the surgery. I have to remember that there are a lot of NSV (non-scale victories) to look at....ALL of my jeans now come on and off without unbuttoning...they are usually dragging on the floor! I also have more energy and I don't beat myself up as much as I used to when I have a "bad eating moment". I suck at drinking Water and continue to eat sometimes when I know I'm satisfied. Hang in there...it does get better! I have fewer bad days now and I "suddenly" lost 5 pounds after not weighing myself for 10 days...try that and see what happens!

    NSV's

I have to share my NSV. Yesterday on my daily walk I found every few steps I was pulling up my pants, so when I got home I went shopping in my daughters closet and tried on her pants, THEY FIT. She wasn't very happy that I stole her pants, but I sure am. Started at a size 30W now a 22W, long way to go but I'm well on my way. I can't remember the last time I was in a 22. I forgot to add I haven't driven in several months and today I borrowed my daughters little kia car and for the first time I didn't rub the steering wheel. I also walked to the store twice today which is a mile, with a long hill at the end. I feel so proud I could burst. You see, no more using a wheelchair, walker, or cane, I sent them to the nursing home.

Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters

Hello my fellow bandsters. It is Sunday night about 11:30pm here. I am bushed but wanted to get on for a ew minutes and check in. I see everyone seems to be doing so well. CONGRATULATIONS!!! Auntie Phil- Sounds like you are staying busy with the grandkids. The game sounded likes lots of fun!! That was a perk huh? Lynette- doesn't it feel great when the pants start getting lose? Congrats!! Dini- I am sorry I missed your post before you left. Hope you have a wonderful time Kathybad- your family is beautiful. You are so blessed. Congrats on the court date!!!!! Dmjet- how is school going? My kids started last Wednesday and I am loving it. Everyone else congrats on all your progress!!! Well we had the 16th birthday party yesterday. I was so tired today that I did next to nothing. Folded a load of laundry and put it away and everyone ate leftovers. The party was a great success and my daughter had a wonderful time. Couldn't have asked for a better day. It was 74 degree's with slight humidity but it wasnt uncomfortable. REALLY NICE. My aunt and uncle came on their motorcycle that they just bought a trike package to put on the back. I got daring and asked them if I could drive it joking. They said 'yeah try it out you will love it.' I thought about it and I thought 'why not (besides the fact I don't have a license...LOL) Asked my DH to ride behind me and he asked 'are you serious' I said 'yeah lets go' We got on and he told me how to shift. I said ok and we took off. LOL I did fine and it was sooooo easy. I said to everyone when I got back 'if you can drive a stick shift car you can drive a motorcycle. LOL I don't kow if you all remember back to another post that I had made talking about how I am so afraid to ride behind my DH the last couple of years because I was afraid my weight would make his bike 'bottom out' LOL. Yesterday was a major NSV for me because I just figured I was gonna try it because I have lost some weight and damn it I have seen bigger people than me riding!!!! DH came in the house this afternoon and asked me to go for a bike ride with him. I think I may have started something. LOL I am finally off of my platea this past week.:whoo: I have lost 6 lbs this past week :biggrin1:(knock on wood. I hope it keeps up). Hope I haven't jinxed myself by saying (typing) it out loud. Well I am off to bed. Have lots to do tomorrow before going to work. Good 'nite all!!!

    NSV's

Today I'm wearing a shirt that I haven't worn in 3 years!! I don't have too many items of clothing that is too small because we moved last year and I just gave up and threw just about everything away. I got so many compliments today at church and I'm really no different than I was last week except the shirt :0) Thank God for NSV's!!

Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters

Good mornin all. Tenille, that's funny about your pants falling down when your were dancing. I'm sure we'll all have those NSV's vey soon, just when we least expect it!! Sunny, I'm still at only 4 to 5 oz meals, although I know I've went over this week a few times. I think it's just my way of knowing I ned a fill again, whick is on Thursday, but what your doing sounds right. The meal you had was probably 6 to 7 ozs, depending on how small the baked potato was, but if your felt restriction and stopped, then it's working!! Citygirlnks, welcome to the Lucky 7s. We have a great group here and we're excited to have you join us!! Brandy, sounds like you are doing awesome. The solids should make you feel fuller faster, just because you actually have to chew and it takes longer to eat, so you'll feel full and stop eating before you would on liquids or mushys. dmtjet, I've been doing the burping too. I guess it's a cue that we are full. only4me, take care of yourself. Hope it is just water in your ear. Well, I'm headed out to eat lunch with my mom today, so I ned to get going into the shower. I'll check back in later. Hope everyone has a great Sunday!!!

Congrats! I cannot wait for that feeling of being able to fit comfortable and not ask for the extender. Btw, excuse me if I sound dumb, but what is NSV? Or DH? I always see these terms and I'm just trying to figure out what they mean...
  20. Thanks Jennifur....yes I colored it yesterday. It was blonde highlights, now I am Auburn. What interesting words did your db have for you? Inquiry minds (aka nosey me) want to know!! Michelle-thanks for the compliment!! Congrats on the NSV!! That is so awesome! Kat-My hair is way too thin now for bangs, so the lady said a "swoop" would look good. My regular beautician called in sick today so I went to a lady I had never been to before...I will go back to her next time. I am like you, I love to just be able to pull my hair up & go but I decided to go ahead and bite the bullet! If you did it, you would not regret it!!! GO! :huggie:
  21. Hi all!~~ A late-eve check-in... was up before 6a & out the door by 7! Spent all day @ a soccer fest in the 100 heat... ack! Drank a case of water & refused to use the port-a-potties so kept driving down the road to the McD's... too funny! Crashed for 2 hrs when we got home, am now cooking a nice dinner -- my in-laws are here! What a day! Tracy -- your new hair cut looks fab-u! Fantastic! :huggie: Tomorrow is the last day of summer... kids go back to school on Mon!! Am scheduling a pedicure for Mon morning to celebrate! I deserve it after 10 weeks of summer! I love Fall & Back-to-School time... to me it's a lot like New Year's... fresh starts & new routines... can't wait 'til the days are crisp & cool! Have a great night, everyone! OH! PS -- Clothing NSV today! Had nothing to wear today so I "shopped" in my closet & pulled out a cute hot pink/white gingham check searsucker shirt dress w/ short sleeves, size 22 & it fit! The sleeves were always the problem -- too tight! -- but not today! Yay! It was perfect for a hot day in the sun!

    future holidays :)

You've already lost 24 lbs so in 7 months you should lose quite a few more - depends on how determined you are. Add exercise and lots of fluids and it will fall off. It's all a matter of choices and quality over quantity. Any amount lost will be a bonus for your trip. Remember to celebrate the NSV (non scale victories) too. They are just as important as the numbers on the scale. Good luck and let us know how you're feeling.

Aussie Bansters Chat Thread Part 2

Hi all, just wanted to share the NSV I had today - I bought 3 new tops today two size 12's and a medium! I didn't expect any of them to fit, and almost fell over in the change rooms when I put them on and they did - they were from Valley Girl, Supre and the "teenage" section in Target! Woo!! The last time I wore a size 12 was when I was about 12!
