Thanks I have finally logged on again... I've run into problems with the band and will be getting a revision to a VSG. So, I'm checkin in here now to see how other band to VSG revisions have gone. good luck with whatever route you go!

Hi SWBgal,
I have a question for you. Why did you have band revision or replacement. I am 15 months out and I just started some issue on my left side under my ribs. I told my dr the band has come "unclipped". he said no way. I will go for an ultrasound on Tuesday. Just wondering what issues started your path to the replacement?

I am now a revision to an rny from the lapband. I've already lost more than I ever did in the two years 3 months and 24 days with my lapband. Never found that illusive green zone. Never found that restriction, without it slipping. So I'm glad to have it gone. Only here to let my fellow September samurai know how I'm doing.

Hey there LL, I hope you are doing well. How have things been since your revision? I am not sure if I have let you know that I had the entire band replaced the end of July. I am doing much better now. I am down 60 pounds and I am at 7 months since the first surgery.
I hope to hear from you!

Hi! I have been reading your posts regarding switching to RNY, I think from you being in Amsterdam you probably see Dr.Singh. I'm having some band issues as well, I had a revision surgery (my initial surgery was in 04) in 06 and I have awful reflux at night and have had pneumonia twice. I'm nervous about Dr.Singh wanting to take the band out and also nervous about potentially switching to RNY, what has your journey been like?

Hello Everyone, I am a former lap bander who received the sleeve revision almost a year ago. I managed to lose 120lbs with the lapband and was highly disappointed to find that I had to have it removed due to erosion. We went with the gastric sleeve because it was supposed to #1 help me lose the last 25-30 lbs #2 enable me to maintain. Well low and behold I lost 30 lbs the first couple of months. My problem is that I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism which made me lose even more weight initially but now that the medication I am on has started to calm down my thyroid, I have gained 35 lbs in the last 2 months and I am at a loss on what to do. I work out 5 days a week and still it will not come off. If anyone has suggestions I would greatly appreciate them.

Hello today is the big day . I am getting a revision from the lap band to the sleeve , I go in at 9:30 am . I had the band put in twice the first time I contracted h pilorie or what ever it was which caused a lot of vomiting and acid . Which Inturn caused the band to bend the stomach. So they took it out but before they did I lost a 100 pounds I was 430 when I had the band drop to 330 . Then they put it in again but just maintained it . But then I started having problems , they now are saying it is bending the stomach and some of the fluid is missing .so now today I will get the sleeve I gained 20 pounds unfortunately .so I am up to 350 ..looking forward for the new lifestyle and hopefully no more constant hunger pains that never seem to get satisfied

I never thought I would say this...but I am thankful that I had a Nissin Fundoplication. If I had not had that surgery in 2000, I would be still looking at getting the lapband. After all I have seen from people getting band to sleeve revisions, I'm glad I'm going straight to the sleeve. I've even converted my wife to the sleeve...can you believe that the doctor won't even give me a twofer discount...

I think I will revise my goal and try to hit 299 by my birthday in April. Here's to hoping!
