I only drink the Lemonade one......rest are to sweet. I drink it every day with GENEPRO to get all of my Protein in. I have been drinking it for the last year and have not had a problem
-
I'm using Genepro and I really like it. You only have to use a small scoop to get 30 grams of protein and only 59 calories. I tried Isopure, but you have to use more to get 30 grams of protein and it is 112 calories.

I couldn't handle the shakes in the beginning until I learned the coffee trick. I use one scoop of unflavored genepro, one bottle of the fairlife shakes (salted caramel or vanilla) and an ounce or two of black cold brew coffee or decaf espresso. Mix it all up and it taste like a frappe but not as sweet and that's 60grams or protein in one drink. I usually put it in the freezer for a little to be fancy! Recommendations: protein supplement , etc
RNsleever715 replied to KLM1959's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Premier is my favorite, except the chocolate which I literally can't choke down. The unjury was okay, but premier is better. I have some unflavored protein powder from genepro that's highly recommended here, haven't tried that yet. -
3rd day R-N-Y oost-op protein shakes question. Premier Protein shakes OK?
shedo82773 replied to Roadblock's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my RNY July 2, 2013. I did Premier Protein drinks for my preop 2 weeks and 4 weeks postop. Now I did have "the back door trots" BAD!!! Finally, my Dr said that I was more than likely Lactose intolerant. Sure enough. But fast forward to 6 months ago, I found GENEPRO non flavored Protein!! I LOVE it!! I drink coffee I am a coffee big time drinker. So I add 1 scoop of GENEPRO to my coffee every day and it doesn't change the taste at all!! So for me it is a WIN WIN!! It has 30grams of protein so YAY ME!!! Now some people say that it doesn't have that much protein in it but I have read things on it and there was nothing about it not being 30grams. Also, how could they sell it without it having it? I will continue my use. I have fallen short on my protein forever and this has helped me so much. BTW Isopure is YUKKY. I commend anyone that can drink it. LOL -
Getting frustrated
becomingmandikaye replied to Lizardlady's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm in almost the same boat as you (except I can't have yogurt or jello). I've found GENEPRO to be a game changer. I strained some chicken and stars soup last night and added Genepro to the broth. It was 4 oz of broth with 30g of Protein in it, and it tasted wonderful. I went down the soup aisle and picked up any soup that seemed like it would have a flavorful broth after straining. I also have sugar free popsicles, and I did get some Luigi's Italian Ice in lemon (not sugar free, but I'm having issues getting calories in, so I thought why not). Good luck to you! -

Well, now don't do as I do but...I measured out my SWEET CREAM and my Half and Half. Make my espresso and the total calories are 140. I also add a Tablespoon of GENEPRO. So my total Protein is drum roll!!! 34grams of protein. So again it is a win- win for me because I would drink my coffee anyhow.

Honestly, tell me the truth. NO more Booze or caffinee?
Debbieduck4 replied to Michelle Tarver's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was really shocked when my post op nurse offered me coffee as one of my liquid choices after surgery... I can have coffee if I want it. I usually have a really big cup every morning with my GENEPRO Protein powder in it to get me going As for alcohol, I've only had a couple of drinks since surgery 6 months ago. One thing is true... A little goes a long way! haha! My doctor just said to be careful with alcohol and drink in moderation. The only beverage I was told is definitely off limits is anything carbonated because it can stretch my sleeve. -
Best Unflavored Protein Powder?
lalame replied to PepperCat's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I agree genepro. I found it on a recommendation almost a year ago on this site. If you do a search of unflavored protein powder you will be able to read recommendations from other sleevers on this site. Good luck. -
Allergic to artificial sweetener
lizonaplane replied to Flikka's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I don't have this issue but maybe you could focus on savory items? Like bone broth? I know some people have their tastes change a lot after surgery and don't like the taste of sweets/artificial sweeteners so there are definitely savory options. It will be harder though because a lot of low-carb stuff is artificially sweetened. There are also unflavored protein powders - I've heard Genepro is good. I haven't had my surgery yet so I don't have too many suggestions. What about plain greek yogurt with just berries in it (I like frozen blueberries because they're sweeter and cheaper than fresh berries and last longer). Hint water is not sweetened and you could probably make some popsicles out of it instead of the sugar free kind. PB2 - I think some kinds don't have sweetener in it. OH... just saw you're in Australia. Not sure of the brands they have there. I was in Australia Feb 2020 and I ate a lot of junk food. Maybe you could google the brands I mentioned so you know what it is and then see you have there that's similar? -

My positive experience mixing Genepro
Yardsleever replied to trekker954's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I have been using GENEPRO in my coffee in the mornings also. I do follow the mix with a fork using room temp Water then add to hot liquid route. I also warm my coffee with the Genepro in the microwave as i like it hotter than it comes out of the Keurig. I haven't had any clumping issues. doxaholic replied to trekker954's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I started with GENEPRO i was extatic over it then the reports of it claiming more Protein than it actually contains started coming out and that they are getting sued. I stopped because i am a newbie and did not want my protein to be low because of it. But i see where others have tried it and come out okay i dont know i am on the fence with this stuff but i really want to go back to it sonce it was the only one i could really stomach Sent from my SM-G920P using the BariatricPal App -
Anyone have to do post op liquid diet?
MissKay replied to correak's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah I only had to do 2 weeks pre-op liquids, and 2 weeks post-op. I technically don't start purees until Monday, but my nutritionist who works very closely with my surgeon said if I felt ready to introduce some of the pureed items already, I could. I've added in cottage cheese and soft scrambled eggs. The eggs gave me some gas pain, but otherwise I did pretty well with them. That's so strange that they have you hat 4 weeks.... that's a long damn time. As for Protein drinks, get GENEPRO. I mix it in with vanilla almond milk and SF chocolate syrup, and it tastes really good. You can't really taste the protein at all. I've mixed it with broth too. Others have mixed it in with yogurt, applesauce, etc. -
I recently responded to another thread about protein so I'm just going to cut and paste: I highly recommend a tasteless powder by "Genepro: next generation protein powder." The scoop is much smaller and you get a full 30 grams of protein. Plus it's less calories than most: 60 calories. I even put a scoop in my Water, for real. I taste a hint of it but it is a clean, very mild taste. Add it to your broth if you're drinking that." Good luck!!! Sent from my SM-G892U using BariatricPal mobile app

I was supposed to, but I have problems with artificial sweetner so I bought Genepro. Its flavorless so I can mix it with anything, I really, like it.
-
I also use GENEPRO protein. It's odorless and tasteless and you can put it in almost anything. I ordered it off Amazon. The nutrition information says that one scoop is 30 grams of protein because of the way the body absorbs it.... But I only count it as 15 grams Also I have found that for me, putting the premier Protein Shakes over ice helps me drink it better because it's not as thick when some of the ice melts.
-
Premier is my favorite but you need to try different protein shakes to make sure you are getting your protein in. Many people use GENEPRO, my doctor doesn't recommend it but you just have to try to find something that works. Our bodies won't heal without protein. I started shakes on day 5 and many of them were gross to me. I have a hard time getting even 30 grams of protein a day in. When I went to my one week follow-up my surgeon fussed in me. He says your sleeve won't heal without at least 60-70 grams of protein a day. It also helps you keep your hair. I don't want a hole in my stomach or all my hair to fall out for I get my protein now.

Fav protein snack after gastric sleeve
Sai replied to LMSWNYC's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
At the moment, I still really love coffee with cream, plus a tablespoon of Genepro. It's a calming morning ritual. I love string cheese too... -
I despise Protein shakes so my go to is GENEPRO Protein powder. I add it to foods like hot chocolate or milk based Soups. It's whey protein so it works best with milk based products. One tablespoon is 30g of protein. For the first three months that was my main source of protein since I could eat so little.

I am on day 4 of puree. The first 3 days i seriously felt like i was over stuffing myself. Today i cut it back to 2 2ounce meals and broke them both into 2.. so 4 times.. but i did it during the day only and am finished.. Only i also added genepro (30g) of protein to the food.. half scoop in each.. I also had my protein shake at some point. I may move the shake to lunch, have a scrambled egg for breakfast and leave the second course of protein for dinner. I had to try something different because eating 2 ounces at once.. was way too much and i was getting the pressure in the chest.

Bypass RNY, Phase one! Liquid diet?
Dream4tc replied to RGraham87's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
1.Premier Protein is cheap and tastes great and is at walmart. 30 grams per bottle. They come in chocolate,.vanilla, and strawberry. Another good protein source is Optisource- they have caramel and strawberry and they are both delicious very cold or on ice. 2. Also you may want to consider Isopure protein looks like kool-aid but has 40 grams per bottle. They come in many different flavors. If you are close to a GNC, you can sample the flavors. This must be cold to drink in my opinion 3. Powerade zero, different kinds to mix with the Isopure 4. an unflavored protein that you can mix with food like unjury, or GENEPRO 5. sugar free ice pops 6. chicken , beef, vegetable broth 7. Crystal light sugar free 8. SOBE Lifewater is zero calories, and sugar free and is delicious! They carry different flavors. Apple fuji Pear is my favorite. 9. No sugar added grape, or apple juice ( will need to dilute half and half Water. 10. Fairlife fat free milk, has lots of protein and low calories. 11. Different extracts or Sugar free Torani syrups to help with flavor if modifying a shake. My brain is dead at 3am, can't think of any more right now....anyone want to add -
They are saying their 10g of special protein is equivalent to 30g whey. I believe this says it best about Genepro: Long story short, they are selling lies. Most likely they are selling BCAA's and calling it protein. Do yourself a favor and buy a reputable protein brand. Gold Standard is good brand. There are so many manufacturers that lie on their labels, you almost have to look them up and see how many lawsuits they have against them before you buy! If their process was true, every other maker out there would be following suit because it is such a cutthroat business. The fact that most retail chains refuse to carry it is evidence of the company's reputation. The only reason I reply (yet again) to this type of post is to protect new patients from wasting money on snakeoil. I need to bookmark my reply to this ridiculous garbage product. It comes up so often it's a PITA to search for it. The manufacturers even admit that there is really only 10 grams of protein, but it is magically fast with absorption and is the equivalent to eating 30 grams of protein. It's a whey based product. It is most definitely not 30 grams of bio-available protein. The calories are just not there either. This stuff does not contribute to satiety, meaning you will still be hungry. At best it leaves protein markers in the blood stream, more likely though your body will start to break down your own muscle tissue for the protein that it needs. It does not provide the building blocks the body needs for muscle tissue, nails and hair. So you are most likely will have issues with that. Just stay away from this crap.

GENEPRO
Sherrie Scharbrough replied to Sherrie Scharbrough's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
The links I have are these. It is pretty much the same as what you posted. BTW I am not a newbie I am almost 4 years out and I have had all great returns on my bloodwork. In fact I had to drop down on some of my vitamins. I guess I will have to keep a better eye on them since I am using The JUNK GENEPRO. I am sorry if I upset anyone. But here are the links I have http://musclegennet/clinicalstudies:html and https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/ncto2919657?term=genepro&ranks
