  1. I was sleeved 9/14..haven't gained or lost a pound in 8 days. Guess I hit the 3 week stall early Sent from my SM-S902L using the BariatricPal App
  2. I am a slow loser. Its frustrating to see the posts for 100lbs in 6 months, etc,etc... I try to skip over the ones that say they have been perfect and thats the only way to get to goal. My thought is that i want to live life. If i want something i adjust my eating and have it, within reason and on plan. My doc released me to eat anything. AND my steel sleeve can :-) My first stall was the 3 week stall. It lasted about 2 1/2 weeks. Its been pretty consistant lose a couple pounds, stall for a week or two and repeat, lol. I have stalled again at 198 and have been here for 10 days. Its all good.
  3. Its called the 3 week stall, search for it and you will find alot of info. keep with the program, it will pass. Good Luck!
  4. Look up the the "3 week stall". Many stall out for up to 4 weeks early on. I did. Then things get better. Who knows why.... the body does what it wants. unflavored protein powders are not unflavored. That being said, you can add them to other things that you like, pea soup? crystal light? refried beans? cottage cheese? This will help you get by until you can eat more regular foods. Good luck and you are doing great!

    Losing Slow At Very Beginning?

Sleeved on 11/26 and down 25lbs. I had a 3 week stall at only 20lbs lost. I keep telling myself at least I'm losing but sometimes it's difficult not to get frustrated and disappointed. I work out 5-6 days a week and get more than enough Water so maybe I should adjust my calorie intake or up my Protein. For now I'm just continuing on my journey and hoping the numbers on the scale keep getting smaller no matter how long it takes!

    How are people losing 10lbs/month?!

I've lost 32 lbs since surgery. The 14th makes 2 months post op. I think i'm doing pretty well. I was super frustrated and stuck in a 3 week stall at the time I wrote that. It's slowly coming off. I don't have a nutritionist but I do know I need to be better about getting more protein in and drinking more fluids and walking. @cuzzy623

    Discouraged and regreting

In addition to the dreaded 3 week stall you may have pin pointed why the scale is showing a weight gain; you're bloated and constipated. There are many solutions to that; colace stool softener, milk of magnesia, miralax, benefiber, prune juice, a tsp of epsom salt in organic grapefruit juice to name just a few. Since you can't exercise, walk. Walk at least 30 minutes every day and drink you water/fluids. It will all get the plumbing moving. Most importantly stay off the scale. It will make you insane. Take your measurements instead. and every month take them again. Even when you are stalling if you are on program, the measurements will change when the scale doesn't.

    Stall

I was lucky enough to bypass the 3 week stall, BUT the 4 week stall got me! That silly scale will start moving again very soon. Hang in there and keep doing what you're doing!!!
  10. I am 3 weeks out and I have lost 25lbs (counting 1 week liquid diet also). Today I weighed and actually gained a pound even though I cannot even eat 4 ounces. I've been eating a lot of tuna fish with regular mayo and I ate some peas with it so I'm not eating low carb. I also eat yogurt and Soup for dinner. Should I try to be eating just low carb/high Protein or is it ok to not even worry about it right now? How did you lose weight? I know I'm eating way less than I ever have before and this is the dreaded 3 week stall but I cannot help but wonder about my eating. Also I was sleeved in Mexico so I am trying to follow their instructions on protein but its difficult.

    Stall Ugh!

Mine was July 11 and just today started seeing the scale move, 26lbs in 6 weeks...after a 3 week stall. I changed from working out in evening to morning and added more protein.

    VIP Member Check In

Hi all. I decided to go ahead and make my "membership" official and join the VIP club. ???? So far BP has been fantastic to read and to participate in(the good and the bad). I thought it was time to fully commit! ????While my program has a monthly in person meeting, it never seems to fall on a day I can go so BP has become my default support group. I have been mostly quiet up to this point but I have been soaking up so much. I am now 5 months since VSG so things are settling down to be more routine. So many of my early questions were answered by reading the responses of the oh so patient veterans on other threads. I can't tell you how much it helped me! I didn't panic after I didn't lose much immediately post op. I didn't get upset when I hit the 3 week stall. (A little discouraged, but it helped to know it wasn't just me) I was prepared for when my hair started to like the floor better than my head. (Not happy, but hopeful since everyone says it will come back!) I learned about lots of new food options (Halo Top ice cream!) and recommendation on vitamins. And most importantly, I feel I am getting to know a group of individuals who on this "project" with me. Don't get me wrong, I have lots of support at home and from friends and family, but it isn't the same as talking to others who are in the same boat. At times I will admit to feeling a bit lonely in this journey. Just reading and sometimes responding on BP has helped feel more connected. So I thought it was time to fully commit to BP and work on starting to give back. ????????

    november sleevers.

Finally dropped 3 pounds after a 3 week stall. That was a tough 3 weeks. I questioned everything I did. I think I need to stay away from my scale this week -just get back to basics
  14. I just had my surgery on Oct 5th, but I was was around 37 BMI on the day of surgery. I lost about 30 lbs from the start of my pre op diet until 2 week post op. I've been in the infamous 3 week stall since then (16 days).

    Seeking Buddies 5'2" & Under

4'11 HW 252 SW 218 CW 201 I had a 3 week stall and this is the first week of loss. I went from 233 to 218 on the pre-op and was 2 weeks late on my period post-surgery. I blame those two factors for my stall.

Why am I a Slowwwwwwwww loser?

Thanks for posting. I have been on a 3 week stall. Hanging out at 199.5. It's like my body said, "hey, you are in onederland...we'll hang here for a while :-/ I see people losing twice as fast as me at the same starting BMI...all i can do is shrug and go on my own journey. I agree those of us who are losing slower simply aren't as vocal as those losing mega-lbs every week it's nice to hear i am not alone.

    Monday Morning Weigh In

HW 385.5 SW: 366.5 (6/29/10) CW: 312.5 I've had one 3 week stall weeks 6, 7, and 8 and another 2-1/2 week stall month 3. Very frustrating given my weight. I thought I would lose more quickly, but I'm losing inches even when the pounds don't come off. That's encouraging.

    Not losing anything? ?

I'm 10 weeks out, and I eat about 500-650 calories per day. I avoid Pasta, bread, rice, anything really sweet, I feel sick to my stomach when I attempt to consume them. 3 weeks into my journey I hit a stall, and now the weight is coming off very slowly. My 3 month appointment is scheduled for the first week of May and I'm nervous about going since my surgeon made me feel bad about my 3 week stall. I keep having stalls and they are frustrating but don't feel bad some people it doesn't drop off others it does! I am 10 weeks out also and I have dropped 71lb so far!

    Not losing anything? ?

It may be the 3 week stall, however this may not be a good idea. Your nutritionist should have given you some information on eating/drinking. You should be striving to reach the minimum Protein goals or 60 gm a day and 64 ounces of fluids. Initially you can't always trust your sleeve to tell you when you are hungry. Acid production sometimes feels very similar to hunger. Are you on a PPI such as prilosec or omeprazole? Failing to meet your protein goals can hinder your weight loss.
  21. @@Jacqbult, not just you - I hit the dreaded 3 week stall, then dropped another 7 pounds really fast, and I've been sitting at the same weight for a little over a week now. Fits and spurts, but when it moves at least it's going in the right direction! I don't weigh every day, but despite knowing better I still weigh more often than I should. Trying to look at it this way - there's no way on earth that I WON'T eventually lose weight when I only take in 600-800 calories / day.

Halloween (Oct. 31) - What will you Weigh?

Hi all, I lost .8 lbs. this week. It's the second time since surgery that I have had such a small loss in a week. First time was the notorious 3 week stall. I lost .5 that week I think. Last week I lost a lot (3.5), so maybe this week is just evening that out a bit. Still on track for my Halloween goal and still have lost every week since the surgery. I have 3.8 lbs. to go till I can join the 30 lbs. or less to lose group. I'm really looking forward to that! I did my new exercise class on Monday and Wednesday this week. Next week we will be on vacation so eating will be a bit of a challenge. My plan is to have some vanilla Protein Powder in my Soy Latte for Breakfast (normally I have greek yogurt for breakfast), string cheese and Jerky or beef sticks for lunch, dense Protein at dinner and an unjury chicken protein at night. That will get me to 60 grams of protein a day and still under 800 calories. I will have a few more calories that usual at lunch and dinner because I won't have the same low cal options I have at home. This is my first vacation post-sleeve that doesn't involve going somewhere with a fridge. It will be good practice for my trip to Japan later this year. Halloween Goal: SW-177.............CW-173.1...............Halloween Goal-159 Sept 2: 175 Sept. 9: 173.1 Sept 16: 169.6 Sept 23: 168.8 Sept 30: Oct 7: Oct 14: Oct 21: Oct 28: Halloween:

Halloween (Oct. 31) - What will you Weigh?

I'm down another 2.2 lbs! I'm so glad I've gotten out of the dreaded 3 week stall and am losing weight at a steady pace now 9/9 - 200.2 9/17 - 198.6 (I broke the stall and into Onederland!) 9/24 - 196.8 10/2 - 193.3 10/6 - 192.1 10/7 - 191.1 I'm not weighing myself at regular intervals- I need to get into that habit! I just weigh myself whenever I'm curious about my weight. SN..............Starting Wt........Current.......Goal.......Lbs to Goal Kala.................200.2...............191.1........185.............6.1
  24. I wanted to add, I just went through that 3 week stall. I expected it from reading this site. I did measurements instead. I stayed at the same weight for two weeks. However, I dropped a combined 3 1/2 inches inthat time. All of a sudden this past week, no joke, I have dropped 8 pounds. So just don't keep looking at the scale. It will happen.

    Dying To Be Thin...

I am SO glad you made it through that nightmare! {HUGS} Have a friend who is getting a band this week and was trying so hard not to be negative about it...wanted to tout the virtues of the sleeve to him instead but he's so excited. For me, the band is not only ineffective for a lot of people but dangerous...have heard so many more stories of slippage, erosion, etc. than anything negative I've read about VSG. And for those who have some success with the band, it's typically slower and they need constant "fills" that most insurances don't cover. And I can live with staples but not with a fairly big foreign object in my body that I (and my husband) can feel! Just got over my 3-week stall (last 9 looooong days) and am back to losing. Have faith, it will pass and you'll be back on track. Keep up the good work and glad you're still with us!
