    June 2014 Sleevers Check In!

My surgery date was June 17 and in the same 3 week stall. Just now seeing a pound come off over the past 3 days. Maybe thus means it will start moving again. Sooooooo frustrating. I have cut out carbs almost entirely and working hard to get more protein in each day. Walking, walking, walking........ This has got to get better!!!!

    first stall

I too have stalled. My sleeve was on July 14. Weighed in at 320 day of surgery and now at 305 but have not lost any this week. I have heard of a 3 week stall but how long does it last? My highest weight was 350.

    JULY 2014 SLEEVERS GROUP

My 3 week stall came early. I lost 14 pounds the first week but only 3 pound since. I know I'm not moving enough but I still thought the weight would fall off at only about 500 calories a day... Hoping to get over the stall soon

    Hit a stall

most folks hit a stall early on. i'm only 5 weeks out and also hit a stall in the last 10 days. it's definitely frustrating but there are several of threads on here that talk about the dreaded 3-week stall. reading how many people have or are going through the same thing will make you feel a lot better, believe me. just keep working on your Protein and Water intake, try to avoid carbs (at least that's why my doc recommends) and try to keep moving/burning calories. eventually you'll start losing again. our bodies are just healing and trying to recover from the shock that we just put it through!!! as for the folks you mentioned, try to ignore their comments and keep your head up. a year from now, they'll be looking at a brand new you and none of their comments will matter in the least. it's all about how YOU feel about yourself! stay strong!

    FRUSTRATED!

Thank goodness!! I thought the 3 week stall meant at like 3 weeks post op you had a stall that week. Not like 3 weeks of a stall!! Geeeez Louise!!! Thanks tho (:

    FRUSTRATED!

Also - the 3 week stall is notorious on this site - nearly everyone goes through it. Just hang in there and keep following directions from your NUT and do tor.

    FRUSTRATED!

@@p-ruck21 LOL some/many/MOST of us go through "these" stalls!!!!! especially what is commonly called the "3 week stall" people that stall sometimes shake things up a bit - calories, Protein, drinking but........who knows if the above helped - or your stall finally broke on its own?? doesn't really matter - stalls as well as shitttt happens too you are using/wasting a lot of energy over something you can't control you are doing wonderful protein, calories - perfect make sure you drink so much it comes out of your ears, or "somewhere" else as times goes by, and "if"you reach another stall make sure to take your measurements sometimes you will lose inches - (not weight) its great to see those inches disappear, weight will/must eventually follow pre-op & post op down 20 lbs keep up the great work good luck kathy congrats
  9. I don't really have any before pics. I tried to avoid any photo shots. Down 72.8 pounds. I consider myself a slow looser since I've been on a 3 week stall.
  10. You're not alone! Seems they should call it the DREADED 3 week Stall.. I think the first weight fell off so fast we didn't want it to stop!.. Good Luck!
  11. Okay so I keep hearing about this 3 week stall what can I do to start loosing again? At my biggest I was 282 pre op I was 268 now I'm 255 which I have been stuck at since the 10 th... What should I do????

    4 month stall?

Im at four months. Scale didn't move in over a week. I'm so use to it moving so I'm very disappointed. I started out at relatively low bmi, weighed about 218 at 5'6" but I've been losing at the least a pound a week. Haven't stalled since the dreaded 3 week stall so I'm concerned

Sounds like the infamous 3 week stall... Not looking forward to mine but at least we know it's coming
  14. So glad to hear about the 3-week stall.. I too have stalled at 3 weeks and even gained 2 pounds.. I'm suppose to start soft foods on Thursday... I was worried I was eating to much soup..LOL.. But all this sounds pretty normal.. The only difference is, I don't think I'm getting enough fluids or protein.. I need to work harder on that... So nice to be able to read about everyone and share.. Thanks!
  15. Hang in there! I went through the same thing. Mine lasted about a week and then the scale started moving steadily again. For some of us, the 3 weeks stall arrives a little earlier. It will end and you'll start losing again.
  16. So I know I shouldn't be checking my weight everyday but I can't help it! Just the past few days my scale is showing me a higher number then what I was after I ended stage 1 liquid diet (Monday). Is this like the 3 week stall but earlier? Also, I'm always hungry...been drinking Water and etc. and having my Protein shakes as well. I take a PPI as well...what gives? Will my sleeve be more restricting when I move to the pureed/mashed stage? Sorry for all the questions...just bumming out a bit here b/c I've also had to adjust my insulin a lot and wondering if that's the culprit
  17. I have also hit the 3 week stall, I had surgery 6/24 and have lost 39 lbs total (17 before surgery) and the scale hasn't moved in a week, Im not sure if Im doing something wrong but the little amounts Im eating I don't see how its possible not to be losing weight...please stall be over!!!!

    Any February 2014 Sleevers?

I will be 5 months Saturday. I've lost 87lbs. I have 2 or 3 week stalls... But I feel fabulous. I've been able to clean out most of my closet. Which is great, but also kinda sad. Weird right? I didn't expect to be distraught over my wardrobe? It is fun & a little exciting. But some of my clothes were really nice & I can't afford to replace them so fast. I have gone to consignment sales & I've got some cute things from our local Facebook yardsale site. I'm thrilled with each new size. I am happy with how I look & feel I've been a success. I'm off almost all my meds! I take 1/2 of a blood pressure pill. My hair has been falling out in handfuls! Luckily I had a lot of really thick hair.
  19. I was also unable to escape the dreaded 3 week stall. Surgery date was 6/24 and I lost 20 lbs the first 2 weeks. Now I have been at the same weight for 9 days. Everyone keeps saying "hang in there, it will pass". I'm ready for it to pass!!

    My journey so far!

I am in the dreaded 3 week stall. My surgery was 6/24 and I lost 20lbs the first two weeks....now 9 days at the same. I'm getting my water and protein. As frustrating as it is....everyone says it's our body adjusting. Maybe it'll end soon for both of us and the weight drop significantly.
  21. You are right on schedule for the 3 week stall. You can read about it in the "Don't Sweat the Stall Stuff" subforum. You should move your post there. And I can't say this enough..... It's really very simple. Get in all your Water and Protein, follow the meal plan, GET OFF THE scale, just trust the process, and you WILL lose!
  22. I had a 3 week stall and upped my calories to get it moving! I was doing 600 and upped it to 800. If you are weight training you could be building muscle that weighs more than fat. I read that if you weight train you should have carbs before and protein after? I am not going to start weight training until I get down to a decent size. I am more focusing on cardio right now.But ask your trainer!! Or doctor!
  23. Hi. So my pre op weight was 198. I had surgery April 4th. My doctors goal for me is to lose 70 pounds total. My weight is stuck at 162. I know I haven't been exercising enough. I fractured my foot. I also don't think I'm getting enough calories in. Will the scale start moving again? I'm scared I'm done losing at 3 months. Any words of wisdom out there? Especially since I have a broken foot.

    The Math Doesn't Add Up

Oh, I hated my 3 week stall. For a week I stayed at the same weight but I was eating right, drinking lots of fluids, exercising... I know I'll have another one but I'm prepared this time. I do avoid all carbs so anything that will be burned is fat.

    The Math Doesn't Add Up

I was in the 3 week stall for 2 weeks! Not fun - or logical. Just now getting out of it fully. Just lost 4 lbs this week. When I was completely stalled I actually gained 4 lbs. . Drs office said I was retaining lots of water. It does get better. Don't get discouraged. We didn't put the weight on in a day and it doesn't come off in a day. What I did was focus on getting strong. I increased how far I walked and kept thinking about how strong I was getting instead of the "failure" of a non-moving scale. You are likely losing inches and not even realizing it.
