Suzzie---congrats on the NSV. Someone told me yesterday that I needed to purchase new clothes. It felt sooooooo good for someone to notice. I told them I wouldn't purchase clothes that I can wear right now...I'm waiting until winter.... Ja9va.....I joined a support group and this month was a clothing swap. You bring what you want to give away and take from other what you want. You don't have to bring in order to take. I was not able to attend, but it sounds like a good idea. I'm pretty particular about my clothes (don't wear used clothes). But I'm thinking that wearing someone else's clothes during this transitional phase is not a bad idea....it will definately save money and the madness of having to give away perfectly new clothes in only a few months. Everyone--have a blessed day. Has anyone heard from Nina? I know she was going to start training for a fun....anyone?

I haven't posted in a while either, been lurking I guess. I have kind of been in a funk lately that I cant quite explain. I have continued to eat right and work out. Although, I did skip my work out yesterday which makes me feel worse today. People are telling me how great I am looking, my clothes are very loose, physically I feel better but for some reason I feel just as fat as ever and that makes me sad? I have had plenty of NSV's including being able to get out of some chairs we have in the garage without grabbing the arms and pushing myself up! It is so ridiculous to feel this way! I bought a pair of size 18 non stretchy pants at Target last week that I was shocked actually went up and buttoned no problem. They have buttons on the front and back that you can use to tighten the waist which I plan on doing when I get down to that. The thighs are too tight on them for me to look normal in them for now. All the clothes I have are either too small or way too big and its messing with my head! How long are you guys waiting to buy some new clothes? I am trying to wait till 200 to buy some new work clothes. My weekend clothes are all stretchy work out stuff so they are all fine. Hoping to get out of this stage real soon because I hate feeling like this when I should be on top of the world. I just dont think its going to happen though, I set a mini goal of 215 by 10-1 which at the time was reasonable. Now I dont think its going to happen. :phanvan

Lindaa Congrats on your NSV!! Didn't u just love sliding right into the booth? Awww....sweet victory!!, lol Walking record 1 hour of walking around a middle school track near my job with my linesister. The hour went by quickly because we were talking for most of the time. I fear that we weren't walking as fast as we should because I felt too comfy talking. Tomorrow I'm on my own with the exercise.

An EXCELLENT NSV, Suzzzie.! I've never flown Southwest and after watching the A&E series Airline, I never will. I'm too scared I would be one of those people they pull out of line and make try out a seat, and I'm not a fan of herding folks like cattle onto a plane as a free-for-all for seats. I can't stand General Admission concerts, I really don't want my plane to be General Admission, too. I could be totally wrong about the experience, though. One of these days I'm sure I'll get on a Southwest flight. I mostly fly American. I'm also a big fan of Ryan Air and AerLingus for their level of service internationally.

Hi everyone...I haven't posted in awhile but thought I would post this NSV. My wedding ring hasn't fit in awhile and I miss wearing it so I took it to have it sized. I have always had sausage fingers so I was happy when the clerk told me the size 7 sizer fit.....I used to be a 9.5! The sizer that fit looked so small. Even more exciting was while I was waiting for the clerk to do the paperwork on my wedding ring, I was looking at another ring and she asked if I wanted to look at it. She then took it out of the case and told me to try it on. Well...every ring I have ever gotten had to be sized so I was doubtful but the ring slid right on!! I almost died! Never have I been able to wear a ring out of the case. It was beautiful, but even more beautiful was that I now realize that I am shrinking all over...even when the scale is a little slow to move.

Wenjea, I'm with you on the re-committment!! Of course, I just made the family a vegetable lasagna for dinner (of which I will have NONE, thank you). It does drive me crazy when the scale doesn't move, but what do I expect when I weigh myself every day. I said I wouldn't but I do!! At the end of the month it always seems like I lose at least 7 or 8 pounds, which is exactly where I should be. I just want more. I'm so spoiled. But I'm wicked happy. I love my band!! Cindy Oops, I almost forgot my nsv....I went to buy new pj's the other night, mine were too big, and guess what? I bought 3 pairs of size MEDIUM. yyyeeessss!!!! (I know pajamas probably run big, but I was so excited. I brought all larges in the dressing room and one pair of mediums for shi...s and giggles. Well, I got to giggle cuz I needed ALL mediums.

Peaches- great job on your weight loss! I understand why you would feel insecure about gaining it back, it's my pattern too. Not with the band. IndioGirl- I am proud of you for keeping eating under control at the party. It isn't easy. Chim- sorry about your PB. At least you know for sure the band is there! Dini- congrats on your weight loss! Ana- I am jealous about the weather. It's full summer here in Texas. Lindaa- What a great NSV! Keep up the fantastic work. Comments like that keep us motivated, don't they? Celeste- glad to hear you had a good trip and even got compliments from the in-laws(not always an easy feat). Welcome back!

I have to report a NSV! Yesterday we met my daughter and b/f at The Cheesecake Factory. (I only had soup and a couple bites of cheesecake, but that's not the point) The waitress asked if we wanted a booth or a table and I took a chance on a booth. . . I was comfortable! My daugher understood the significance and gave me a wink when I sat down. I was soooo happy. When we hugged my daughter and b/f good-bye (they had to go back to school) the b/f wispered to me, "You're looking good!" What a great day!
  10. Heck Pamela---you crack me up too!!! Love the nanners!!! Melanie---congratulations on keeping your little boy, I can only imagine how happy you are. We went through a court case, with DH's ex, that she kept appealling...eventually took it all the way to the Colorado Supreme Court. With each win we got the attorney told us our odds just kept increasing, he said only on TV do appeals work as a general rule. Not only do facts not change, most judges, do not make a habit of over throwing another judges rulings he said. So....keep the faith, and enjoy YOUR son!!! Jane---I am sorry to hear you are PB'ing!!! Misery! My suggestion would be to just drink nothing at all for a couple of hours, let your system totally calm down, then begin with the smallest of sips, of something like Gatorade---it will help rebalance your electrolytes. Then stay on liquids for a day, and ease back into food, if it still hurts after a day on liquids, when you try to eat, give it another day, but if it continues any longer---call the doc! Good Luck!!! I have been a good bandster!!! OK, a pretty good bandster, considering! We met up with friends, and kids, and friends kids all at Fuddruckers today, I ate a burger with veggies, ditched the fresh homemade bread bun ..... and give my cookie to Lindzie ( which she rubbed in to every kid there...I give up!) I haven't felt much like eating today, my mouth is less sore, but I am just blah. Getting very nervous about Dads surgery. Rick is staying home tomorrow, and driving down the day of sugery, and then back home that night...I keep telling him he does not have to...but he just tells me they were there for him through all the years, and especially this last one, and he is coming down! So there! LOL! I love hearing all y'alls NSV's. My best new one is also clothes related! I had this huge brain fart, and had not connected that I was leaving with Dad tomorrow, and was thinking that I was going to this funeral with Rick tomorrow. So was wondering what I would wear. Back just before New Years, my DD gave me this beautiful pair of pants, they are a Jr.s 15, they are black, and have a small pintstripe of a shinier black through them, they just look VERY classy. I worked so hard to be able to wear them to the company party---didn't make it!!!! Breathing may be overrated, but the fear of popping the zipper or the butt out overpowered it, and I wore something else. I thought maybe they might be a little looser now, and figured I could wear them. I then realized, I was going to be gone....and did not need funeral attire, but this morning decided to see if it would have fit. They are loose, I can breath, bend over, squat.....and pull them up!!!! They could be worn, but loosely!!!! JUNIOR sized no less!!!! Not a little size, but who the heck cares!!!!????? I am taking my lap top, and have supposedly got free connection at the motel.....but last I tried at the hospital I had none, so will just check in in the evening. TracyK---you don't get your hopes up---I'll do it for you!!! That place sounds perfect for you! Good Luck! Jennifer---I do drink hot tea, but I am very wierd about it!!! I do not think it tastes the same if it is brewed by the cup with the little tea bag!!! I still drink iced tea year round, so I just brew my iced tea, then pour a cup and microwave it. Then I put a bit of honey in it to help with my throat, and I like it just fine!!! Hope you feel better. Judy---Good Luck on your party---enjoy yourself!!! Maybe you and Ethan can play outside a good part of the day!!! Michelle---50 pounds!!! Congrats my friend, job well done!!!! Denise--the baby chart is cool... They know so much more to share than they did when I had a baby!!!! They told us Kinsey was going to be small, they said between 4 1/2 and 5 pounds. She weighed 4 lbs, 14 oz. Then they said Connor was going to be right around 5 pounds, and he was 5 lbs 3 oz.!!! Back in the day, they told me my oldest was between 6 and 6 1/2 pounds.......she was 8 lbs. 11 oz.!!! Half grown it felt like!!!! They have so much better care available now, and it allows you to be so informed of the developement...I love it!! Manda would call me, and tell me things like....this week the baby is growing fingernails, or this week the spine seals off.......it was VERY cool!!! Not to mention the changes in ultrasound pictures!!! I loved the girls pregnancies, I hope you can enjoy and be a part of this one!!! Manda took me to her ultrasound on my birthday, it was the day they told us it was a girl! Happy Birthday to Me!!! Well I am off to bed, I was waiting to get this last load out of the dryer....and it just buzzed!!!! Will check in soon!!!! Kat

Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters

what a great day for my sister violets. congrats I actually had a NSV today too, my neighbor who is much bigger than me said I had to slow down because i ws getting smaller than her. I'll still take it, and her granddaughter, who is the dd of one of the crazy neighbors I see every couple of weeks said omg you look smaller and smaller every time I see you. Last night someone I see every weekend at work said I was melting away. Little do they know I've been stuck, but I guss I needed a rest and being horribly sick might have just been the trick. I am ogg to the gym tomorrow, and going to deliver fund rasier stuff and then try to get some laundry done. It is amazing how much I didn't do when I was sick last week.... Yes my throat is still killing me but I don't have a fever anymore so that is a plus I hope you all continue to have a great night

Good to hear from you Sunlight. Yea, Betty..for your NSV!! You won't ever have to worry about that extension again. I really enjoyed your phone call. That was a real surprise. I go back for a fill the 25th. I missed my apt. because of this darn leg. I am wondering how in the world I will weigh. Don't think I can hop up on the scale. lol Maybe by then I can put some weight on this leg. Never broke a leg before. Does anyone know how long it will be before I can put my weight on it? I am so darn heavy, that may make a difference on when I can step on it?? I think I am a pretty good cheerleader for my friends, but I am certainly not a good example to follow. My ticker shows that. I am hoping it is due to the amount of restriction I have, or don't have. I am 6 months out and not much to show for it. I am very happy for those that it is working so well for. So keep it going guys.

I did not see anything on channel 13 about it but my prayers have been with you! I am so happy! Everyone have a great evening! By the way, I know you are all dying to have a "panties update" from me...LOL. Well, I am now in a size 8 !!!!! I haven't worn that small in a long long long time!! That is my NSV...

    Has anyone taken up Bycyling?

Oh and another thing. I have a niece who's 20. She hasn't seen me since I was banded. All her life she's been told she looks like me, but all her life I've been obese. Well today she freaked out when she saw me. Not just wow, you look great joy that I'm getting pretty frequently, but "Holy COW, you look like ME!" Our hair is about the same color and length too, so I pulled it down... it was a cute NSV. If I only had her body and youth! She's built, as they say. Okay, now studying for real.
  16. Good Late Afternoon, Vi's~~ Ta Da!! I hit -50 today! :whoo: Yay me! And I had several NSVs also!! The #1 is that, because it is chilly here all of a sudden (60s), I pulled on a pair of jeans (I rarely wear jeans, mostly skirts) to wear and they were too, too big! Like, step right out of them big... invite a friend over into them big... you get the idea. So I try on another pair, and another... 'til I finally find a pair that fits ok (but are actually on the looser side of fit; they won't fit for long!)... & then I couldn't find a Fall top to wear other than t-shirts... so poor ds is waiting for me to take him to soccer & I'm taking a long time because I can't find any clothes that fit! LOL! (It serves me right, as I have been wearing all my summer clothes this whole time, just cinching them tighter & tighter!!) So I guess I'll have to break down & go shopping for some Fall-appropriate things to wear! Immediately! #2: I guess because I wasn't wearing my regular, over-sized, baggy Indian-type skirts, but actually form-fitting clothes, several folks commented on my wt loss @ soccer. FINALLY! Yes! So that felt good, too!! Oh, & #3: Our shower has doors on it, and I have ALWAYS "bumped" into them w/my butt or belly when going in & out of the shower -- but I don't now!! So a good day here in Maryland!! And after I was so pissy this week, too!
  17. i was always someone who never lost weight. my weight has only gone up over the course of my life. when i've tried diets i never lost anything. the band is the only thing that has done it for me. but because i've never lost weight before, it's a very surreal feeling now that i am. i have lost 123 pounds in just under 6 months since surgery and in my head i am still 389 pounds. when i buy clothes i go right for the 4x tops and literally have to stop myself and try and talk myself into taking the 1x or 2x instead, even though in my head i don't believe for a minute that it will fit me. and then i'll try it on and be like wow, it fits or is even a little loose. but i cannot get out of my own head and see the differences in myself physically. i had a NSV yesterday. my friend wanted to take me to the city to walk around and my immediate thought was OMG walking? sure, i do the treadmill an hour a day but the last time I walked on the streets was before any weight loss and it was horrible. i was huffing and puffing and was in such pain that i had to stop every few minutes. it was embarrassing. but we went to the city last night and walked around for a few hours and i had no problem whatsoever. i would have walked around all night. it was awesome. it was such a great feeling to be mobile and comfortable moving around. the band has been such an awesome life changing experience for me. i know u may be a bit discouraged liz but try not to be. Like insub said, you were not born to be fat, and it will come off. you are on the right path. stay strong. virginia

Hello Maysters! I am a Junie and read your posts from time to time to get a heads up on my future challenges and for hope, which you have all given me. Your successes are huge!! I love the NSV stories, they are so good to help us when the scale does not move. lj Like the others said, you may want to call your doctor. Does it fill like you have food in your throat or it is a lump or something? I have this happen. My NP said it is a sign if I over eat and that I am regergitating, my food is coming back up and stays there. It is a gross feeling and does not go away quickly. I watch my portion sizes and since my second fill I do feel fuller and know to stop even when my brain says it is sooooo good! Hope this helps..

dmtjet- your on an ice cream kick? Have you tried those weight watchers ones? I just love them. They are just little cups but they are satisfying. They come in 3 or 4 flavors. Also had my second fill on Thursday and was told to make sure that I am eating more solid foods instead of just mushie food. I have been somewhat afraid to eat to many different things so if I find something that goes down well I eat that for about 2-3 sometimes 4 days in a row. LOL I have not and will not even attempt bread. Scares the begeebas out of me. LOL Haven't tried any meat except for turkey breast, chicken breast, very small diced ham in a soup. The chicken and turkey breast come from a can so they are nice and tender and diced. I actually really like it. I chew chew chew chew and chew some more!!! Brandy-YOU ARE DOING MAGNIFICENT!!!! Keep up the great work! We all seem to be doing really well. Brandy- I read some place else that sometimes it takes a few days even maybe a week to get the effect of a fill. I noticed mine immediately. The first one was good for about 3 days and then after that I had to call because the only reason I wasn't eating half the house was because I was holding myself back with will power (and yes I know the band would not have left me go on half the house but maybe a door knob or 2 with a chunk of carpet.LOL) ssankof73- I got my second fill a week after my first. I felt restriction for a few days after the first fill (4.6cc on Sept 5) but then I was able to eat about anything and I just kept wanting to eat. Hunger not head hunger. I went back 8 days later and they put in another 2.4cc. That was this Thursday and I do have some good restriction right now. My doc says if I am able to eat more than 1/4-1/2 cup at a time to call and schedule a fill. Then I asked how many calories she wants me to eat a day and she tells me 1200. YEAH RIGHT!!! LOL Maybe in the future but there is no way in hell I would be able to get in 1200 calories a day. I am doing really good just getting in 500-600. For lunch today and had 1/4 cup of cheese soup (I wil be adding this recipe for all. It is magnificent!!) and then supper I was able to eat a weight watchers smart one. It had 210 calories and 18 grams of protein. I feel great though. She told me Thursday that I HAVE TOO get my calories up some though because my body is stalled on losing again and she thinks it is because of all the exercising and the low calories. She believes my body is reserving because it thinks I am trying to starve it. Who the hell would have ever thought!!!!!!!!!! I am getting told eat more exercise a little less. LOL That to me is hilarious!!! Hope everyone else that I haven't talked to in a long while is doing wonderful. I miss you all and can't what to hear all your nsv and scale victories!! I will be around all day tomorrow I think (if my daughter decides she doesn't want to go shopping). I cleaned the whole house top to bottom on the inside, went outside and pressure washed the outside of the house and windows, mowed my lawn (3.5 acres on a rider though so no major work out), cleaned the inside of my car, and done my laundry all up today so that tomorrow I will have NOTHING to do but set and relax. Then my daughter says mom I want to go shopping tomorrow because I have tomorrow off. I said ' Court I want to relax tomorrow because I have tomorrow off.' I told her I would go in the afternoon if she really watned to or maybe we could go next weekend and just spend the day together watching movies in our comfy clothes all day. LOL Hoping she goes for the latter. LOL Sorry such a long post. I just get on here after being gone for a while and I just don't know when to shut it off. Then I look up at the screen and I have half of a novel wrote. :faint:

    Steady losers ;-)

HUGE NSV for me today. This morning I was going out (to the auction, which I had a blast at) and so I was trying on jeans. All my regular jeans were 14's and feeling alittle sloppy, my old jeans in the bottom of my drawer looked completely out dated and I didn't even bother trying them on (or looking at the sizes) so I put on a pair of my old 14's and went out for the day. DH and I went to lunch and shopping at Gander Mt (yeah my idea of a good time) so while dh is over looking at ammo and arrows I browse the ladies dept. (smart peeps at Gander mt to put in a ladies dept) - I look at the jeans and think ... hmmm I wonder if I can squeeze into a 12. Much to my delight, my pretty little butt slid right into that size 12, ... so I bought 2 pairs!!! Now let me explain that while my pretty little butt slid into the 12's my sloppy ole jelly belly fell over the top. But I don't care. A 12 is a 12 is a 12~!!! Now this evening when I went for my walk all I could dream about was getting a jelly belly lopoffofme - or tummy tuck as others would say. Its a good day in the hills of Pennsylvania.

Hello Lucky 7's. Sorry I've been gone, computer problems really got bad, but it's fixed. Someone came yesterday and added more memory to my computer. It's been working ok so far. Don't have time to go back and read everything, but I hope everyone is doing well. I'm down to 204, so it's still coming off slowly, but coming off none the less. Still waiting to get Hunter into preschool, as they are waitin on paperwork still. I'll try to check in later, but we're heading to my moms today in a little bit, and we have my step kids this weekend, so my step son gets on this computer too, so I'll try. Hope everyone has a great day, and I'll try to check back and get back into things tonight. Any good news happening around the thread?? Any other NSV to talk about. I had 2 associates at work in the last 2 days tell me I was getting 'SKINNY'. Now that is a great NSV for me. My name and skinny have never been thought about in the same sentence ever before. Please help catch me up to speed!!

OK...I have a rather goofy NSV. Did you know you loose weight in your nose too? The other day I put on my glasses that I wear for work and the nose piece was riding on the bridge of my nose, I thought I had bent them. Then today I put on my other pair...same thing! I guess my nose got skinnier (LOL), I had to pinch in the nose peice. I suppose you loose weight everywhere, but I never thougth I'd shrink out of my glasses!!! LOL LOL LOL
