October 2018 Sleevers
golfgirlgettingthin replied to kdiddle31's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Surgery date: 10/31/18 Height 5’9” Highest weight 298 Surgery weight 270 Current weight 262 Goal weight 195 I just want to weigh under 200lbs once in my adult life. Lol. I’ve been over 200 since I was 14. I’m 43 now. It took me a while to figure out how to get all the fluids and protein but yesterday it just all clicked. Yay! Now I just need to get cleared for purée foods so I can get some more calories in! Currently only getting 350-400/day and with all the walking I’m doing it’s leaving me pretty exhausted. 🤪 this board has been a great resource to me and I appreciate everyone sharing their experiences. -
Height: 5'9” Surgery Date: 10/29/18 Highest Weight: 316 Surgery Weight: 295 Current Weight: 282 Goal Weight: 219 (This likely seems high to most people, considering many of you HAD surgery at this weight. My doc sets the goal at 60% of EWL - which is the average weight loss for the sleeve. He said its likely I’ll lose 12-15 BMI points. I like that he’s conservative because it sets more realistic ideas for me. If I lose more, great. If I “only” get to 220, I’ve still lost almost 100 lbs)

Hi All! Sleeved 10/24 here. HW 309, SW 287, CW 277. Having a hard time with constipation. Hoping that’s why the scale hasn’t moved much. It’s discouraging but I keep telling myself it will come!

As of today, I have lost 60lbs since my journey began (first WLS appt)! Most of that weight has been lost in October, since I weighed 282 on 10/2 and I now weigh 239, (25lbs down since surgery). I can't believe it! Wish my clothes would be falling off, but not quite there yet. I'm super excited about the progress I've made so far and even more motivated to lose, especially before vacation

SEPTEMBER 2018 SURGERIES AND SUCCESS
Frustr8 replied to Frustr8's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Well it is 9:10 am EST on 10th November and the latest Frustr8 Update. Yesterday after sitting 3 hours in Endiscopy waiting room, I underwent my 3rd pist-surgery EGJ. Dr Noria was able to stretch and dialate my stomal opening to 12 mm. Still remain on Stage 2A diet, do not advance to Stages 3 or 4 where many surgery twins are by now. And I am still alive and breathing and ingesting somewhat. Those are GOOD points. Now some bad ones. She asked if Tomkitten or I had 4esumed smoking. No Mam'm, neither of us ever had or would . Well my ulcers have worsened, now approaching bleeding/perforation. To ensure that does not happen, I am To No longer be in the presence of an active smoker or anyone who has fresh residue on their clothing. And I must up my daily protein consumption to 90 grams, difficult sans meat, eggs, tofu et al but I will start adding protein powder, powdered milk or anything else my fevered brain comes up with. Down to protein shakes I loathe, WM has dropped every Premier Protein except vanilla, which I have gotten burned out on and chocolate which I have been allergic to for 43 years. November Bypassers!!
tjwolski47 replied to mousecat88's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine is scheduled 19 November. I’m doing my liver shrinking diet now. I have just about 100 lbs to lose. I have to say that I’m just ready to do it. I’m tired of feeling this way - disgusting in my own skin. I want to be healthy and happy again even if I only lose 80 lbs I would be happy. I just want to get down to a healthy weight and not walk in my moms shoes and be a diabetic. I want to live to see my great grandchildren. I love life and want to live a long time. -

Hello everyone, I am POD 10 now. I saw my NP yesterday for a f/u visit and she tells me I'm doing well..... Anyway, I have been experiencing a right upper abdominal burning pain lately, worse with hunger which wakes me up in the middle of the night when it comes on. The pain reduces once I take in a few bites of my dilluted yogurt, but returns after a couple of hours. Has anyone experienced this? What should i be considering as a factor? My NP did not comment on that but I requested for an h-pylory test which is pending. Thanks. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930AZ using BariatricPal mobile app

Low BMI sleevers... results?
Claudia RN replied to NightPilgrim's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi y'all, I had surgery in Mexico with a 34/35 BMI. 10 pounds down but my appetite seems to be just as ferocious mind you I can't eat any where as much as beforebc I'm three weeks out and I feel like I've stalled. Am I being impatient... 5'6" 200lbs today -
The pain is manageable. I made 3 days of hydrocodone stretch 6 days. Since then I used liquid Tylenol day 7 through 9. I am 10 days post op today, no pain meds. Incision pain is not bad until you move in a position that makes the large incision uncomfortable. Gas pain was by far the worst. Start taking miralax when you get home. The first BM was a bad experience for me. I should have been taking miralax starting on day 2. Warm showers help. It gets easier each day. The first 3 days were the most uncomfortable.

As most have said. Everyone is different. However I had no pain, just sore and uncomfortable. From 1-10 my pain was about a 2/3 if that.

Insurance decision tomorrow
OlRachel replied to OlRachel's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have to have surgery before end of the year! 7-10 days for letter listing reasons, appeal takes up to 15 days. Then for insurance at surgeons office to hurry and file ththe appeal. -
I've got a 10 year old daughter and I've been single for......10.5 years! Honestly dating and "cardio" have been on my mind a lot more since my decision to have WLS. December 4th is my surgery which also happens to be my birthday (did that on purpose)! I'd so love to meet a Mr. Wonderful but I'm worried my expectations are too high...like unrealistically high. I'd try the online dating thing but with caution. Hoping to be dating in less than a year maybe???

Can anyone recommend how to start weight training?
elirules replied to Jeff M.'s topic in Fitness & Exercise
Get some 10 lb dumbbells. Start with standing overhead presses and goblet squats.. 3 sets each 6-8 reps. 2-3 times a week, when it gets easier add another set. Weight training is crucial to add and maintain muscle mass. -
Starving still... regret seriously increasing
mousecat88 replied to mousecat88's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Just wanted to update. This morning I woke up and just filled up a giant Slurpee cup from the tap with hot water. It's been an hour and I've had 39 ounces!! I had my first meal and it was filling for once! You seriously never appreciate the power of what water can do when you're drinking 100 oz a day... until you suddenly drop to... 10 a day. Feeling much better already. Sent from my SM-G930R4 using BariatricPal mobile app
