Congrats! I will cry when I hit -50! Terry~Boobies are waiting in the wings for you honey! TracyKS~ OMG...I am sending you some Magic Purple Power girl...we all are. You'll be in my prayers and thoughts tomorrow. What time?? I will figure out the time zone change and think of you at that exact minute. We all should. And by the way miss skinny biotch...thats right, I said it! You look great. Your face difference is amazing. Looking really good honey, I know your feeling great! Kat~ I know it is probably too late in the day. My favorite chix reciepe is Lemon Pepper chix. Chicken in baking dish...cut about 3-5 lemons up, squeezing the juice etc all over them. Salt, lots of pepper, and some garlic powder, cover then bake. If you stab the chic a bunch it is soooooo tender and very very low cal. But other family members don't know it is sooo healthy, but man o man, is it yummy. Judy~Congrats on the NSV! I can't wait until I am in a 14...you rock girl. Well, gotta go do some Walden stuff, then I am off to Jazzercise @ 5pm. I am excited to be back at it, although I really feel like a nap. I got the Bob Greene book this weekend. I am just skimming through it now, and I found in his exercise section levels of exercise. Interestingly enough, what I was doing at the gym was the bike (that was my cardio) and the book ranked it at a level 4 exercise (= to swimming), but areobic dance was a level 1 was = to jogging. No wonder I am sleeping like a baby after these classes. Have a great evening....ttfn! xoxoxox

Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters

Good Morning, Violets. I've been to my staff meeting at church, done Curves with daugher Kris and had lunch with Kris and Bob. And now for my biggest NSV evah!! Kris left her jeans here after changing for Curves and when I went into the bathroom, I thought I'll just try them on. They are size 14 regular from Old Navy. No way would I think they would ever go over my belly....... welllllllllllllllll THEY DID!!! I could even wear them comfortably and even a big baggy in the butt. Now, the question is.. do I tell Kris I can wear her size?? Cause she's trying to lose weight and it might not be the best thing to hear.. that your 60 year old mom can wear your new jeans. She just got word that she passed her final for one of her nursing classes and so she can go on to the next phase of classes. She is really happy about that. I guess I'll just be quiet and enjoy the NSV with Bob. He gave me a double thumbs up. Kewl! Well, I'm headed for a nap now and then going to the gym tonight to do the stationary bike. Everyone have a great day and remember .... Patience, trust and WWJD??!!!

    Has anyone taken up Bycyling?

TX, gosh thanks!!! It was hard to read and I was straining so much to read it. It was really pretty, if you don't have to read it... B, it is amazing how the bike is addictive. I have to confess, it has been weeks since being on mine. The chill of Idaho is too much for me and I don't have anything to wear in the cold either. I am waiting until next summer to get that stuff for the next fall. Oh I have to share this NSV...I went from a 48DDD to now, as of today, a 42 DD.....I am sooooooooo happy about that, except that now they seem to sag....ALOT.....that sucks....

    Steady losers ;-)

Hey Girlfriends! Everyone had a nice weekend? Sweethot - girl I am as green with envy as one can be! All those trips sound wonderful!!! I think I need to SB it too - I'm still losing, slowly one small pound at a time, I think at this rate I'll hit my goal in May 08, so if could do SB for a week or so and lose 10 lbs - wow - I'd be thrilled! Nat - I know what you're talking about with the body image. Sometimes I feel like I'm rocking it and other times I still feel morbidly obese. I don't see collar bones yet but something else, verrrrrrrrry weird. Laying in bed the other night I could feel something below my boobs and I'm thinking what is that? is it my band? Why do I feel a lump there, I kept feeling around and suddenly realized it was my ribs. How crazy is that!! Long time since I've felt bones. My dh used to count my ribs - yeah about 30 years ago! The other night in bed he was feeling all over and he kept going back to my hip bone, he was probably thinking the same thing, what the heck is that, omgoodness its a bone! HA! Kay - where was I a year ago? I was anxiously awaiting approval of my band. My last dr appt was Oct 11, and I was approved Nov 11 and had surgery Dec 11. BUT as far as food went - I saw myself in my sil yesterday. She is in her 4th month of dr visits so looks like she'll be having surgery somewhere in Jan/Feb. Anyway we were at a baby shower and of course there was a TON of food. I won't lie, I took alittle of this a little of that. Mostly desserts bc everything was pasta. I felt like I had so much, a tbls of potato salad, a T of broccoli salad, a couple celery sticks, and a T of several jello/cheesecake/fattening/yummy desserts - earlier in the day I ate 3 chicken nuggets - I was kinda thinking 'Steph you're pigging out today' - And then I saw my sil's plate. She had at least a cup or more of each pasta, her plate was piled - and she ate every bite. THAT was me a year ago. I even had said to her that everything was so good and I'd really like to eat more but my band says no and she said that sounds like a bad thing but really its a good thing. I said yes it is and then of course we got onto the whole band experience. I warned her that she wasn't going to be able to eat pasta after the band, she looked at me like :omg: - have we all been there before? LOL Anyway - thats where I was. I was 57 lbs heavier, I was several pants sizes bigger, I had grown out of my 16's but was wearing sweat pants and stretch pants bc I was determined not to get any bigger - as if I fooled anyone. Today although I'm not at goal and I'm not completely happy with my body I am HAPPY, I am smaller then I ever remember being in over 10 years and I'm not done yet. NSV - Pulled out my winter coats, they are all huge and sloppy on me, so while dd was home from college I tried on her peacoat - IT FIT - not sure if its a M or L but it looks great on me! So she gave it to me and bought herself a new one. It just blows my mind when I can fit into my daughters clothes.

    Amazing what you don't realize-NSV

I am giggling about this post, because collarbones are the most exciting thing to me too!!! I have a new habit of sitting and rubbing them as a comfort. I love feeling that hard bump of bone that has been hidden under its protective fat layer for as long as I can remember. I totally relate to the shoulders too. I have lost my roundedness and now actually have some shape to my shoulders. Very exciting. I can also suck my stomach in enough to see ribs. They are certainly not visible on their own though. My next goal is to see a hip bone! haha. I imagine that sounds weird to many, but after years of being a human cushion, it is exciting to have some sharp edges again! Way to go on your NSV!!!

    Weighing yourself

I agree... I wish I could make myself stay off of the scale. I'm one of those that go up and down but overall in the week I have a loss. Make sense? Well when I see that "up" that KILLS me and a lot of the time that sets my mood for the day. My husband HATES the scale :Banane10: I really surprised he hasn't thrown it out yet. Maybe I should try and set that as a NSV this week... Can I stay off the scale until Saturday morning... HMM... could be a thought. :Banane10:

How much weight have you lost

Hello Cleone, Great to hear you are doing so well. I started mushies just yesterday. Here's how my day went. My blind brother who lives by himself called me at 4:30 am saying he thinks he's having a heart attack. I tell him to call 911 and get to the ER I will meet him there. I had my granddaughter over for the weekend and we both jumped up and ran. Well turns out he didn't have a heart attack but had a PE, He threw a blood clot to his lung from another blood clot found in his thigh! He gets transfereed by ambulance to another hosiptal 30 min away. Ok, so I had to take my grandbabygirl back to daddy so I could go to be with him, make phone calls and alert other family members and on and on. Grandbabygirl was starving so we made a quick stop at McDonalds. I had a scrambled egg with a little gravy and was amazed at how little I could eat of it. I was under stress of course and was wondering how well I would do with it but seemed to do fine. By the time I got everything situated to get to the other hospital an hour had gone by so I started drinking, drinking, drinking. I get to the other hospital just as other family members are and we check on brother and he is in his room, stabilized and talking, thank God! So now that we have seen him and know he is stable everyone wants to go and eat. We end up at our one of my most favorite places, Chedders. They have fantastic food and the best prices anywhere. I'm thinkging ok, what can I get to eat here. Not a problem. I ordered the catfish which is VERY lightly breaded, mashed potatoes and green Beans. It was the lunch portion but it was HUGE. I felt like I was eating normal and eating a huge amount but by the time I chewed chewed chewed and chewed it some more I had only made a small dent in it and everyone else was done. I can't say I ate till I felt full because I didn't I felt satisfied so I stopped, got a to-go box. Then they had the 'cookie monster" OMG to die for. It has a HUGE choc chip cookie on the bottom, with two huge scoops of homemade vanilla ice cream on top, with the most amazing warm chocolate sauce poured over it with homemade whipped cream and a cherry. She brought four spoons, uh oh. Ok so I took two spoonfuls of the choc sause and ice cream, it was nervana! But it was my first time out to eat in months!!! I did great. So when I got home last night from the hospital, I just whipped out the left overs, this time I measured them and ate it again and it was delish! Again, no 'full' feeling just ate what I measure out, was satisfied, waited an hour after and started drinking again, but man about 9:30 I was exhausted and was ready to crash, made myselft stay up till 10 then went to bed. I still have a huge amount of the lunch leftover, but think I will try different things today. Maybe some refried beans with ff sour cream for Fiber. I haven't had any bathroom issues so far and I have been doing 2 Protein shakes a day since Sept 19. Sorry to go on and on, just wanted to share my day and let you know that under stress I still made pretty good choices and ate and didn't feel deprived at all. I have only lost 19 pounds since I first weighed myself Sept 5th, this is pre and post op, but that's still a little of 3 pounds a week when you put the calculator to it, and I had a nice NSV this morining. Yesterday everyone was saying how they noticed I had lost weight, my DH said I bet you can fit into your next size jeans now and I said no way, I tried them on last week and could button them but no way that zipper was going up, he kept saying I bet you can. Well you all know the disappointment of thinking they will just to find out they won't so I didn't try them on last night. This morning I got up, weighed myself, same weight as last week, but I 'felt' so light. I thought ok, those jeans are my guage so to speak, let's just see where I am. Took them out slid them up, buttoned them and zipped them and they fit just like they used to. Now granted I had to go into a size 20 about 7 months ago when my weight was out of control. Getting into my favorite size 18's today was a victory. Now to get below that and into all the 16's that have been packed away for over 10 years. I can't ever remember being a size 12 in my life so that is my goal, to get into a pair of size 12 jeans because I will have to buy a pair!!!! I know this is long and I'm rambling, but I'm so stoked this morning. I am doing so much better than I thought. No pain since day after surgery, no gas since 5 days after surgery, my incicisons are all healed and looking great, I feel so very very good! I don't want it to end. Me, who in all my previous posts was such a wuss, imagine that. This borad has taught me what to do and most importantly what not to do to avoid as many complications as possible and for that I thank it profusely. Hope to hear back from you soon, I know you are gonna do great, cause we both have another tool that I believe helps a great deal and thank you for that! Blugs! (blessings and hugs) Debbi

Hi Ladies! Sorry it's been so long since I've checked in--life has been CRAZY! Beversman—Way to go! You look wonderful! I’m so impressed with all you’ve accomplished! By the way, don’t the cops have murderers to chase around instead of tormenting you?? Give me a break! You absolutely slay me, you know! I love your “pledge:” OK -- Hello everyone. My name is Brandi, and I promise to stop drinking milk.... to only eat lean WHOLE protien... to exercise like I am supposed to (AKA back on the bike). I will stop eating calorie laiden condiments... and refrain from the excessive consumption of adult beverages on the weekends. I promise to start drinking water and to take my vitamins. I’m going to start repeating it myself! Nathalie—I know what you mean about the game playing at work. I’m stuck with some passive-aggressive folks who can be very hurtful. The tension can be unbearable at times—makes me sick to my stomach! BooBooKitty—WOW!! Size 10 pants! Fantastic!!! I love that bridesmaid dress—it’s so pretty! So sorry about your accident. I’m very glad that you weren’t hurt badly! Jillrn—I’m losing at about the same rate you are. I haven’t been moving around enough lately though. I think I’d speed things up if I exercised a bit more. StephC—Sorry to hear you keep getting sick! It’s hard to know what will go down well sometimes. :yuck: Kaydotrn—I hope your fill helps you out! Hang in there! Don’t doubt yourself—you really are doing a terrific job! I’m so glad you can count down when you’re done with school. There is finally a light at the end of the tunnel! Bannanie—Cool new car! Good for you! Bkwalling—You’re halfway to your goal. That is amazing! Keep on keeping on!!! :wow2: Claudiagdlmex—Sorry to hear you’ve been feeling down! I know how you feel. I think my entire body has crashed and burned since I finished school. I still seem to be going at the same breakneck pace even if I don’t have classes and homework anymore. Work has continued to be nuts—a deadly combination of a heavy workload and having to work with people who can be very unkind. I’m way too sensitive I guess. I just don’t like conflict. I was so depressed that I did nothing last weekend—unusual for me. Normally I’m constantly doing something like the energizer bunny! I’ve been mad because I haven’t had the energy to exercise and I know I won’t lose as fast if I don’t get moving! I went to the doctor this week and am back on an antidepressant. The fog seems to be lifting a bit now. I’m hoping I can get back to my old self again soon. I think I may look for a new job opportunity in the spring. I can’t keep up this pace forever! Faithmd—Thanks so much for the laugh—“it's hand to mouth with Oreo disease in my case!” Too funny! :bounce: Well, I think I’ve caught up on everyone’s news! As for me, my most recent NSV was riding every rollercoaster at Busch Gardens without having to worry about fitting in the seats!! :whoo: I’ll share this next tidbit of information because I know you will all appreciate it! I gotta go shopping for some new underwear tomorrow! The ones I have now are baggy and saggy (kind of like the rest of me, ha, ha)! :faint: Hang in there everyone and keep up the good work! We gotta work hard to reach our 1-year goals, but I think we can do it!
  12. Great NSV...... I was out to lunch with some friends today and when I went to pay my bill, I pulled out my driver's license. Guess what?? The weight is wrong!! But now its wrong in the right direction!! I'm almost 20 lb LESS than what it says!! :whoo::whoo::whoo::whoo::whoo::whoo::whoo:

Stef glad to hear your grandfather is doing better, he surely does not look that old in the photo! "bracelet" How does all that fit on it? I did not look at the site yet, but it looks like a lot. I never thougth to get one, but after Dawn's experience, I might just do it now!! Dawn glad you are OK! I know how it feels to go through something like that with no answers. Now you have to pray it does not happen again! For now, smile and take care! suzzzie you are doing great in your contest! You are lucky to take advantage of the trainer deal. When I watch the Biggest Loser, I wish I could have a Jillian for a day! GREAT NSV It feels so great to fit into the next size down! NSV for me too! I bought a new pair of size 16 pants, modern ones, cream color with brown and and like a slate pin stripe. I wore them to work yesterday with a black sweater and black shoes. I received compliments all day. then I saw my 22 year old son, and he was giving me a hard time, telling me I was all trying to be young again, whatever!! Son's!!! His wife was saying I looked nice, and told him to be be quiet! At least he noticed!! I have been having a really hard time getting to the gym. I had planned to go to a 8:30 am weight lifting class and then take a 9:30 step class, and here I sit. I will leave and go to the step. I really need to get there, I hate when I am so much in a rut with the gym. why???? not sure!! Have a great weekend everyone. hope to hear from Toni and where is Monica these days? Or Holly? We miss you if you are reading.

So, My first NSV was getting in a ride @ Knott's... I was so nervous about potentially doing the "dreaded walk of shame". I got on, down came the bar...Whew! it went down....VICTORY! I rode that & had a blast with my family! I have lost 87 lbs so far, & am between an 18 -22 in clothes(depending on the cut/style, etc) After I got off the ride I noticed that there was a sign that said that if you recently had surgery, then you should not get on these rides. I had surgery in Jan.2007, I feel that I am healed, but didnt even THINK about anything happeneing to my band, my hubby said that it should be healed by now, but I would like your imput. I havent talked to my Dr. yet. I feel fine, just I am always a worry wart... :biggrin1:

    Amazing what you don't realize-NSV

NSV's do mean so much more because they're usually when your head suddenly catches up. I mean I could weigh 30kg and still think I was fat. The number doesnt computer. Its when you catch a sight of yourself from behind in a dressing room mirror and realise you're not 2 metres wide but actually have a nice shape, or see the odd photo of yourself that surprises you etc, THAT's when you truly see how far you've come. Those are awesome moments.

  21. Good morning everyone!! Now if the tooth I had pulled wasn't bad enough, I have ulcers in my mouth right in the crease of my cheek & gums...OMG, is my mouth ever going to feel normal again? I put oragel but it burns so badly when I first put it on that I am a wimp to use it. With my luck it is some kind of gum disease and I have used up all my dental insurance for the year so now what? Have any of you ladies heard of any good home remedies for mouth ulcers? Would it be a dentist I need to go to? My whole left side of my head hurts. Dear Jesus, I am falling apart!! Oh, and now my medium size boobies are now small boobies. I refuse to be an "A", so if they shrink any more, it will be new boobs with my TT. I did not wanna do that BUT I am not gonna tolerate A's either!! I need to get my wedding ring downsized....it can just slip right off my finger, which I suppose is a NSV. Oh well, at least my bowels are moving. So I guess it could be worse!! OK, that all the whining I can handle from myself this morning! Everyone have a great day!
  22. Daisalana

    What would you change?

I've never been able to wear a single pair of lane bryant's pants. Besides being short, they also have 'hips' for the plus size.. I have no hips.. just big belly! So they poofed out all weird on my hips.. But me too me too! If I find a pair of jeans that fit, I order multiple pair. Pre-op I had this one set of bell bottom jeans I loved, had 5 pair of them!! Around July they stopped fitting, and I went into panic mode, I wore those almost every single day.. now what?! But luckily I can now fit into some old old jeans (the nsv jeans on the b&a page)..and I ordered some new pants from alloy.com a few weeks ago and they fit great, and before I could order a new pair.. they sent me another pair! They have a lot of errors at their place, sometimes in my favor. My 'dream' height was always 5'3, and my friends would say 'can you imagine how fat you'd be if you weighed what you did at 5'3?'. So I'm suppose to be thankful, heh.

So...just got back from Anchorage...I didn't have good access to the internet and I don't have the time/patience to read everything that I've missed...I hope nothing BIG, but if there was something big I expect that someone will fill me in. So I had my second fill on Wed. afternoon. Put another 1.0 cc in = 2.5cc. I didn't feel any restriction and that afternoon I was able to eat a baked potato and small salad (Wendy's has internet access so I was there for a few minutes checking some email.) :huytsaoI called him and said that I'd like more so I went back in on Fri. and got another .5 cc put in. he did a check and pulled it all out to make sure there wasn't a leak and it all looked good. :)So now I HAVE RESTRICTION! And GOOD restriction at that! I was getting a little jealous that everyone was only eating a little bit and I could eat...well, more than that. So now I've been cut off! Now, I just have to get over the "head hunger"! :hungry:I had lunch with a friend the other day and we had chicken legs and salad. I got through the salad, had two bites of chicken and got stopped up! I had a real hard time with having food still on my plate and I hadn't eaten that much! I even picked at it for about 15 minutes, but just got more and more uncomfortable so finally I stopped. Carbonation doesn't bother me though (tried a diet Coke yesterday and was fine, but I didn't drink it fast either). So, maybe I'm on my way? We'll see. I head off for my cruise in a few weeks and I definitely won't feel all sexy, but definitely better about myself.:biggrin1: OH.....NSV! I went to get some jeans (mine are FALLING off of me) and I had to go down TWO sizes! It was AMAZING! I felt good having to go back to the racks for a SMALLER size!:clap2::whoo:
