You mean you won't miss all those horrid horizontal stripes??? WTH is wrong with designers???? And while yes it is off topic--but related to that--back when I was in plus sizes, the style was short shirts, tight---nothing with the length in the shirts I needed. Now I am in Misses clothes, and the long length, almost maternity look is in-------aaarrrggghhh!!!! My newest NSV-----my Dr in filling out my paperwork for a referral over some recent medical issues wrote me down as a 47 yo woman avg. build. YEEEHAW nowhere on it did it say morbidly obese anymore!!!! Kat

Oh, congratulations topdownbug on your NSV. Good idea hanging your blouse where you can see. I have a pretty dress i bought a while back and i think i'll hang it up so i can be reminded to stay focused. Keep up the good work!

NSV stands for non scale victory. Going down a size for example would be a NSV. Good job on the deduction.

What does NSV mean? Congrats though! I'm only down by about 18, but I'm looking in the back of my closet for some winter clothes from a few years ago when I was about 25 pound smaller. I found a beautiful almost new black blouse w/fall colors on it that is a 2x. I tried it on over my pjs and it almost fits! Two months ago the 3x things I have were getting snug... I hung the blouse on a hanger on my dresser as a goal to wear on Thanksgiving Day! makes it all worthwhile!!

So, i went shopping today for some new jeans at Lane Bryant and was pleasantly surprised. Before my surgery i brought a pair of size 28 jeans from there and today i fit into a size 24. 2 sizes down....not too shabby! I was so excited...just had to share.

The other night...I was getting ready for bed...when DH says to me..."Um, dontcha think it's time for new panites?" I looked in the mirror and DANG they were the baggiest, ugliest, granny panties! LOL! I promised him this weekend, I'd get the right size and maybe a couple of 'sexy' ones

Today I put a shirt on that was an 18/20.....an 18/20...down from a 26/28 (but I was barely barely barely fitting in them....that's bad)..an 18/20!!!!!! YEAH!!!! Lorraine

Funny thing is i Saw the Ex w/his new girl on Sunday and I was just SOO over it! I actually felt kind of sorry for HER choosing to be w/such a slimeball! But hey, not my problem, right? I just hope this guy falls for me! I'm still so not confident in that area... CLAUD...glad to hear everyone is safe!!! I hear on the news that they're hopefully turning a corner in controlling all the fires, so that is good news!

Hi flower faery, The tone of your post sounds so much better. I am very happy for you. It is wonderful to see you recover from being down. I wanted to tell you that my scale goes up and down all week and for me that is okay. I know I am getting stronger, my metabolism is getting higher and I just plain feel better. My trainer really helps me out. On the days that I work with my trainer, I burn more than 1600 calories during exercising (minium of 1000 with him and another 600 in cardio afterward). I had a great NSV (Non Scale Victory) last week when we took measurements after five weeks. 18 scale pounds amounted to 44 lbs of fat loss and 26 lbs of muscle gain. If my trainer was not taking the measurements, I would have thought it was just 18 lbs. I guess what I am saying is that the scale is only one measurement. Look at your overall accomplishments. I also believe that the band has one important difference than other methods. The band helps you keep it off (the yo-yo effect is over:clap2:). Good for you and keep up the good work:waytogo:. I hope you get the fill and begin to get some restriction. Be patient for your sweet spot, it will happen for you. Happy banding, MMT

claud I will pray for you hope things get better nat way to go 219 I am close but no dice yet brandi sorry to hear about the gain and stress you are a rockstar and will get all in order soon steph I am not in school anymore I decided my position at the bank is what I want to do with my life move up the ladder there' I was in school to teach but now days if you look at a kid wrong you have changes on you and things have changed so much in the classroom I just don't think teaching is for me anymore my hubby uncle died we went to the burial today so sad everyone was like khristina you have lost so much weight I felt strange talking about weight loss at a burial oh and a nsv I had my wedding band sized from a 9 to a 6 and half awesome huh

At my Lapband support group the other night a suggestion was made to make a list of your NSV's and mark them off as you reach them... we'll I'm marking one off!! :whoo: I was just walking here in the office... I'm wearing a dress today (something I do not normally wear) and I noticed that my legs are not rubbing together!!! :clap2: WOO HOO - I love this!

Told you we are all alike - even though we are different. I still eat in the middle of the night - but now it's sf pudding and sf fudgecicles - If i could just quit this behavior - I would save about 200 calories a day... But I can't so at least it's 200 c and not 1000 = NSV..

It sure is quiet around here! normally when I get home from work and get in here I have about 3 pages to catch up on...lately its only been 1 or 2. We CAN'T be running out of things to say can we? Credit reports, Geeeezzz...I am not even gonna go there...that is just way too depressing. So lets see...I will find something else to talk about. My dh's ex wife had to have gastric bypass done about 2 years ago...and I found out from my stepdaughter this past weekend that I weigh less than her mom now....so that is a NSV. She (the ex wife in law) would probably rip my stepdaughter a new one if she knew that her daughter told me how much she weighs....I have been wondering for the longest, now I know. I thought that it looked like she was gaining some back and I was right. I really hope that she is careful and doesn't start gaining it all back. I have seen people do that and I hope she watches it! I really do like her. I wish no ill will for her. YIKES...I could really elaborate alot on this subject but with my luck she will read these posts if she finds out that I come here, so I will just shut my trap while I am ahead and we can talk about it on our violet vacation Man, just when I was on a roll.... Anywhoooo....Amanda, good luck with your court date. Haydee, like you will really be able to sleep on the plane anyway, please. And If you do I will push your drooling rear-end over in Terris' direction!! LOL Kat-I am sure that you made Kinseys booboo all better!! Pamela-I could not open the link either! Hey LADIES!!! I'm back....again.....still unemployed :-( Was supposed to hear yesterday about a job, but got an email saying that I was in the top 2, but that they needed a few more days to make their final decision...UGH....I HATE Waiting!!! Brandi and Brandy....so sorry to hear about all the car/legal troubles!! It reminds me of when I was going through my divorce and was totally broke and miserable and thought it would never end. But it DID! And it will for you too. You WILL get past this! To all of you w/your NSVs....WOO HOO!!! I have been a baaaad baad bandster!!! I'm drinking way too much alcohol these days (going out w/friends, not sitting home alone btw) and I am convinced that that is why my scale is not moving! That and I'm still prone to grazing throughout the day b/c I'm home not working! Claud - You're family and anyone else who is out in CA is in my thoughts and prayers...Those fires aer so scary! Nat...while you may not make it to 200 exactly by tgiving...think about how much closer you are than you were at this time last year girl!! You're kickin it!!! Keep up the good work! Sweet...wow...a size 12!??? That is my Goal size! LOL Work it girl! Kaydot....I'm in on the monday weigh ins with you starting next monday! I'm not sure whether this was an NSV or not. I have lost a fair bit of weight and all my clothes are loose. I went to the kitchenette and the back of the classroom to get some water and my pants fell down! A few of my students saw I think but they did a good job pretending that they didn't. How embarrassing (in a cool way). Needless to say, I bought some safety pins on the way home.

Tracy - My birthday was Friday and so far I've had 3 different celebrations this weekend. Today was the last one. My friends met me for lunch and brought me a cake. My neighbor is gonna kill me. Everyone insists on giving me the leftover cake and of course i don't want that in my house so as soon as I get home I walk on over to my neighbors house, she has three kids, and I leave the cake with her. I'm sure her kids are bouncing off the walls, LOL!! -

So I've been dying to have the time to post my NSV for the weekend. We went to the bar sat. night that I use to go to 2-3 times a week. actually, let me start with this silly little part. Last week my dad got me some new shirts from the Gap (size M long sleve V-necks) and I wore one to work. A friend of my dads yelled across the shop to tell me how nice that shirt looked on me and it made my boobs look bigger. We laughted and I told her it was because the rest of me was shrinking and my cup size is not (THANK GOD). Anyway, when we went out Sat night, I brought 2 shirts to change into because I couldn't remember what color she said really did it, she told me the brown one without any hesitation, so that is the one I wore. Well... when we got to the bar, I joked with the bouncer about getting in 2 for 1 (did not work) but he did make a very suggestive comment. I felt pretty good about it, I'll take any compliments I can take. Then when we were inside he came over to our table and was talking to us, he told me how familiar I looked to him. I told him I was there 2-3 times a week for years and always hung at the table we were sitting at, he said you were not that heavy set girl who was always here on friday's... I said YUP... that was me... 70lbs ago. He was so amazed.. we chit chatted - he was thinking about surgery so asked me if I had one. I told him yes and band, i was hiding it but I have worked hard so I don't care anymore who knows and who doesn't. Anyway, this other guy who has been asking me out for years had come over, and the bouncer was just telling me how nice my boobs were, then Joe the other one made me spin around and told me how great I looked and how he would wait forever for me.... he is full of shit but that is not the point..... great compliments.. then a girl I have not seen in 4 months came up to me and told me how fantastic I looked, she didn't know about surgery. It was so nice to be able to squeeze by a crowd of people without beinng completely stressed about not fitting, and being able to function and have people take notice. My dd is watching something and laughted and said mom's claustrophobic (sp) ya know, it made me think, I have not been as completely freaked about small spaces as I'm shrinking... I even liked looking at my shadow as I was walking.... who is this... could it really be me?????????? I think I might be starting to see it.
