    Steady losers ;-)

Kaydot- I say hang in there and you may want to try some Prilosec OTC or Zantac that works well for protecting you from ulcers as well as the heartburn. Nikki- Boys are so fun! Congrats! Sweethot- I wish I had dh begging me to have another baby! I am the one trying to convince him for one more. I do have one little NSV to share with you all! I went to my family dr the other day for a check up. I started seeing him a month or 2 after I got married 10 years ago. I asked him what my weight was when I first saw him, I am 7 lbs lighter than my weight when I got married! I am the smallest my dh has ever seen me! I still have a long way to go- but this was encouraging to me!

    Where are you noticing it?

My hubby looked at me one day and said wow! you can really tell in your face how much weight you have lost! That was my first nsv! Then my coworkers were making fun of me bc my clothes are too big on me now! But I told them that I was gonna wear them until they fell off!! LOL Melissa

Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters

Congrats Jackie! You sound like a "normal" person who really enjoyed a party without treating it as another eating opportunity. That is HUGE, and I am proud of you! Thanks for sharing your NSV with us! Kim, you lost 37 pounds in 3 months. That's over 10 pounds a month. Nothing wrong with that! Good for you to schedule a fill for the day before Thanksgiving. THAT shows commitment!

Great Cindy!!! 12's getting to big.....I can only imagine!! It is funny that you say that about running. I went out for a walk today and decided to jog. What I would do is walk....then jog for a while, then walk again. It sounds like I need to check out the thread you talked about! Thanks for the info and yes....Keep the NSV's coming!!!

Way to go Metal and Lizrbit!! WOO HOO! I also love to read people's NSV's. Well, alright, I'll share one. I've been on the thread "Couch to 5K", and decided to give it a try. Yup, I'm running (sort of). I can't say I thought I'd like to run (I used to sprint in High School MANY years ago). But After finishing Week 1, I really do enjoy it. Look it up. You start off really slowly, alternating walking and slow jogging. For instance week 1 has you jog for 60 seconds, then walk for 90 seconds, alternating for 20 minutes. I figure I'll burn some calories, it won't cost me, and maybe I'll really like running, who knows? But that is my NSV for this week, that and my Size 12 jeans are getting loose! (The scale is not moving yet, but I don't really like this scale anyway.) What's important is how I feel and how the clothes are fitting, right? Let's hear from some more May Banders on NSV!!! Cindy

Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters

Let me jump onto the blizzard wagon and admit that I had one last night too! I did not even weigh today because I had salty crap and the DQ last night. I'm making enchilada's tonight...... I don't know if I'll be able to eat them or not, but DH loves when I cook mexican. Terry: I missed you on Friday. I hope your doing ok with mom this weekend. Laura: Your costume is so HOT! and I can tell a HUGE difference in your B&A pics! Denise: Thanks for the comments.......... I don't feel like I'm melting today......... but NSV: I can now zip my leather coat! My legs are really hurting today because I polycoated pretty much all the woodwork in the kitchen yesterday.. (pine wainscoat & chair rail) Don't have much else to say.... Have a great evening!

Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters

Hello my Lucky # 7's. Well we went to our Halloween party last night and guess what...............DH and I (raggedy ann and andy) won 3rd place!!!!! HAHA It was sooooo fun! We lost to a little boy (kids always win though because they are just so darn cute!!) and my mom and her boyfriend. They really deserved it though!! They went as a 1920's flapper girl and gangster. They looked awsome!!! I danced the night away and had a couple of strawberry strippers. Didn't look at the calorie count on those because I prob would have freaked out!!! I don't feel guilty though because it was a special occassion and I do not do that very often. I have to tell you though I was so proud of myself. All this yummy food around and I didn't over eat and didn't even think of the food after I ate. I had made my maidrites (93% lean ground beef and salsa) and I ate the meat and a very few (not even a full serving) of chips and that is all I ate. I was very satisfied and didn't feel deprived at all. I think I might just be winning this head thing and my thinking is definately changing. I wasn't worried about 'how am I going to get more food and not be noticed' or eating just a little and starving myself because I didn't want to look like a pig. I was more worried about getting out on that dance floor and gettin my groove on. LOL What a NSV!!! Anyway sorry I was rambling. I am down 2 pounds for the Thanksgiving challenge!! Haven't gained yet today from my last night adventures but sometimes it takes a couple of days. I have ramped up my exercise and kept myself moving today hoping to ward of gain and maybe burn extra because of last night. Hope everyone else is doing great!!!

coolness metal! my most recent nsv was NOT having to ask a stewardess for a seatbelt extender the last time i flew down to houston from maine. that rocked, as well as being SIGNIFICANTLY more comfortable in the little tunacans they label as coach seating. another nsv had last night. went over to friends house for dinner and drinks. i sat down in a chair i never would have dreamed sitting in six months ago. i would have broken it. not this time. not even a squeek.

    May 2007 Banders

Hello All, I have had a couple of NSV's that I need to share: I no longer snore...my family would always give me a hard time about it. I would be afraid to go away on girls weekend because I thought that I would keep people up but its now gone!! My boss gave us all down jackets the other day with the company logo on it..... he gave me a mens medium (only mens sizes) and it fit perfectly....no awkwardness on his part or mine because of my size! I also fit into a size 14 jeans (stretch) but they are a 14!!! My 16's still fit but I am on my way to 14!!! One scale victory....I weigh less than my husband!!!! Thanks for listening....my family sometimes doesn't get the little things that excite me because they have never had weight issue. Please post some NSV.....I get excited when I yours too! (wow, that sounds like its all about me but its not meant too) Should we start a NSV thread for us amayzing bansdsters???
  10. Well, from the dates on here, I am going to assume that I wasn't the only one who couldn't get on here yesterday. A whole day without my band buddies....eeeek:eek: Gotta share another NSV with ya...before my surgery my blood pressure was up to 150/95...I personally think that a lot of that was my nervousness over getting banded. After surgery I was averaging 130/90. I know. That still needed medicating, but it was never done. I sat down at a blood pressure chair at Target the other day, just for fun. And you know what!!!! 113/73 !!!!!!!! (I couldn't believe it so I did the one at Wallyworld too) OMG, everything is getting better! So a note to those of you who take HTN meds...check regularly as you lose weight. You could get to a point that they need reduced or discontinued! (disclaimer***with your doctors approval, of course:p) Marcy~ I've had issues with the Halloween candy too....I'll be so glad to get it out of my house.(and not the mouth way!) Every year I buy it early and every year it doesn't make it to the trick or treaters. I must do this to myself on purpose... Also, Marcy, the head thing with this is huge. Even if you think you don't have any issues, you "just like to eat" seems like something pops out. Make sure you give yourself time to work through it, with family, friends or on here...we're all here to listen! Okay girls.....I know I've asked before....did we all decide on a date for Red Robin? If Lap Dancer is here the 9th...are we doing the 9th or the 10th? (fri & sat) How long are you going to be here, Lap Dancer? When does Dynamo get home? Anywho....lets get a date. I can't miss another month! Have a great day!

    My husbands NSV!

MINE!!! He said about 2 weeks after surgery, I quit snoring, and before, some nights, he'd go sleep on the couch because I was shaking the foundation of the house. YAY! I never thought of that as an NSV before. Cool!
  13. METALBAND

    My husbands NSV!

Today I asked my DH,"how has my snoring been"? He said it is non-existent!! Huge NSV for him!!! Anyone else's spouse sleeping better?

    NSV's

You mean you won't miss all those horrid horizontal stripes??? WTH is wrong with designers???? And while yes it is off topic--but related to that--back when I was in plus sizes, the style was short shirts, tight---nothing with the length in the shirts I needed. Now I am in Misses clothes, and the long length, almost maternity look is in-------aaarrrggghhh!!!! My newest NSV-----my Dr in filling out my paperwork for a referral over some recent medical issues wrote me down as a 47 yo woman avg. build. YEEEHAW nowhere on it did it say morbidly obese anymore!!!! Kat

    NSV...Oh yeah!

Oh, congratulations topdownbug on your NSV. Good idea hanging your blouse where you can see. I have a pretty dress i bought a while back and i think i'll hang it up so i can be reminded to stay focused. Keep up the good work!
  16. juliegeraci

    NSV...Oh yeah!

NSV stands for non scale victory. Going down a size for example would be a NSV. Good job on the deduction.
  17. Topdownbug

    NSV...Oh yeah!

What does NSV mean? Congrats though! I'm only down by about 18, but I'm looking in the back of my closet for some winter clothes from a few years ago when I was about 25 pound smaller. I found a beautiful almost new black blouse w/fall colors on it that is a 2x. I tried it on over my pjs and it almost fits! Two months ago the 3x things I have were getting snug... I hung the blouse on a hanger on my dresser as a goal to wear on Thanksgiving Day! makes it all worthwhile!!
  18. juliegeraci

    NSV...Oh yeah!

    NSV...Oh yeah!

So, i went shopping today for some new jeans at Lane Bryant and was pleasantly surprised. Before my surgery i brought a pair of size 28 jeans from there and today i fit into a size 24. 2 sizes down....not too shabby! I was so excited...just had to share.

    Weird NSV

The other night...I was getting ready for bed...when DH says to me..."Um, dontcha think it's time for new panites?" I looked in the mirror and DANG they were the baggiest, ugliest, granny panties! LOL! I promised him this weekend, I'd get the right size and maybe a couple of 'sexy' ones
  23. NSV Alert!! I just made dd's 9th birthday cake... a chocolate mousse cake... from scratch!... and didn't even so much as lick a finger!! Amazing & hallelujah! (Now if I can keep away from it tonight!!)
