My mom said I think u just skipped a lot of weight! Ha. I believe her. First pic..size 18 second pic and third pic 20-22 third pic is heaviest 293. I'm off blood pressure pills and have energy. Im only 4 wks out and still struggle with Protein but I'm getting majority thru food. shakes r awful, trying the Protein drinks but it has to be ice cold...not tasty. I've been eating those protein Cookies and some bars. Dr said doing good. Cheat-- I ate a corner of a brownie and sugar free vanilla ice cream.(4 protein) blue bell. I had no prob with ice cream cause I ate it before....brownie on the other end. I dumped! But TMI alert....diarrhea like instant. Don't try brownies y'all. Unless they are sugar free! Thanks and if u have any snack tips I've been craving things I shouldn't crave I know it's head hunger but what are some healthy quick items you have had and liked. Thanks!

Does anybody else stall or gain when it's that time of the month? Because that's what is happening to me right now.

I am 4 months post-op and the last 2 days have been agony for me. I have had the worst gas I have ever experienced. I've also had diarrhea for the last 24 hours. I've used Gas-X strips, taken Gas-X tabs and taken some Immodium. Tonight I took a hot bath and have been using the heating pad. I made myself take my DD to the park because I know walking helps get the gas out. NOTHING is helping! The last time I had this much discomfort I was in the hospital having a baby! These gas pains have been so bad they've felt like labor! Until now I haven't had any gas issues at all, other than right after banding. Is gas this severe common? It's nuts, I can HEAR and FEEL the gas in my belly. What else should I do? HELP!

Pre-op Diet Problems. Advice Needed. (also Maybe Tmi)
jayeedee posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
today is my second day on the pre-op diet. I am on 4 Protein shakes a day. I am not big on sweet things. I can't eat a lot of sugar without getting sick, meaning when my husband wants to go to waffle house, if I eat I'm in the bathroom halfway through the meal with the runs. I also don't do well with artificial sweetners. They make me sick to my stomach and I don't like the taste so I try to avoid them. I figured I'd have to suck it up for this, and I am. Except my shakes are sweetned with sucralose... my least favorite.. .and apparently my body is not dealing to well with it. I have the worse runs I've ever had in my life. I'm talking less than 15 seconds from stomach cramp to coming out the other end. I have a headache, and I'm sweaty and I'm nauseous. I don't think it is the protein, because I do Protein Shakes fairly regularly... just ones that are actually sweetned. I'm worried about getting through the rest of the week, and also the first week post op. Since everything is sweetned with sucralose, I'm not sure what to do. I am debating cancelling all the orders I made online for the post op drinks because they are all sweetned with sucralose. Anyone else have this problem? Should I suck it up or call my doc? are there any drinks that aren't artificially sweetned or maybe sweetned with stevia that I can switch to? back to the bathroom!!! agh. -
Relationship With Hubby..better Or Worse After Sleeve Results?
FluffyBleu76 replied to betterthanbefore's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This maybe waaaayyyy TMI but, my husband has told me he has plans for me after the surgery (he, he, he). He asked me if I was still as limber as I was in my days of gymnastics LOL On a more serious note, in the past before my orthopedic issues were such a problem, I have lost weight from diets and exercise and hubby was thrilled! Not just because I felt better about myself but because I was healthier. In his words, "I want you in this life and in the after-life so if getting surgery can make you healthier and hotter than I am behind you 200%". While I think some of our significant others would get a little annoyed at some extra attention, I believe that if the person really cares about you, the results of the surgery will only enhance things. Please keep us posted, -
I have no idea about the rash other than to suggest that maybe it's the glue or iodine on your skin that you are reacting to. Benadryl cream or hydrocortisone? I had a "rash" which was more like a red itchy spot on my right middle abdomen and put hydrocortisone on it and I was fine. As to #2.... MOM can take hours to work. As long as you are not uncomfortable AND you are passing gas then everything should be working. It is different for everyone. It also depends on if you are still on pain meds or not. Here's my TMI. I used to go everyday and now it's every 3-4. My calories are really low and I know I'm not taking in as much fluids as I should. Plus it's all fluids. Hope this helped somewhat. Oh, I'm 7 days post op today.

Protein shakes and GAS
Anniesmom12 replied to Pam Peltz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
thanks Mary about the lemon idea...I'll try it. Seems a LOT of things make me gassy (sorry TMI) but for sure the protein shakes do! I think its the milk...not the powder. I just drink them and go on because it's the only flavor I have found that I can actually stand the taste of...and I can't stand to make it with water or soy milk. -
And all of a sudden my shakes make me sick. I drank them since day 1 post op and only the past three days, after only 2 or three sips, it sends me flying to the bathroom in a sweat and coming out of both ends (sorry tmi). I've heard of lactose intolerance after surgery, but I've been fine with skim milk, cheese, yogurt, and all other dairy. Thoughts? I use the premier protein shakes from Costco.

Thanks y'all. The bike is a Specialized Global Work 2 women's I believe. It is a riding-around bike, not a road bike or mountain bike. I think that is what makes it a "hybrid." The seat definitely feels different than previous ones I have had which either smashed the lady bits or seemed to get right up between the butt cheeks and make a lot of skin irritation and bruising (tmi, yuck, and unpleasant). I have not ridden since Sunday (4 days) and there is still a bit of soreness. It. Iftt have bruised, didn't look. But different from the past. I have thought of spinning, but those gym cycles usually don't adjust short enough for my legs. I am on,y 4'11" and have unusually short legs and a long torso. My gym has the classes so maybe I will see if the bikes go small enough.

My first bm was at 7 days post. I'd call and ask your team if it's been more than that. Mine (tmi ahead) felt like a weird fart, so I went to the toilet and it was a tiny bit of blackish diarrhea. After that I went again and it was more. The next day I had one bad diarrhea, and today it stopped being blackish. The foam could also be from gas in your system, combined with drinking too quickly or too much. I had a lot of hiccups (ow) and burping my first few days. Gas-X strips have been wonderful for reducing the gurgling rom my gut. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

Hi I am six months out I think I might have vomited 4-5 times and the last time was about 3 months ago. This is probably TMI but it wasn't so much as vomiting it was more like how a baby spits up. I think it tends to happen the first few months.

Hi ~ I'm Valarie and I had the Lap Band on August 4th, 2008. I weighed in at 343 on the day of my surgery and am at 305 currently! I can't wait to get under that 300 lbs. mark!! My doctor is Timothy Eldridge out of Oklahoma City and he has been wonderful. He is one of the kindest doctors I have ever been to. However, I am having a problem this week. I had a fill on Nov. 5th and everything was going great until Monday (Nov. 17th). I came down with a cold and started burping up my food that evening. Ever since then I have been doing okay until dinner and then dinner doesn't agree with me...no matter what it is. Then yesterday I felt queasy after lunch and was nauseous after dinner. An hour or so after I ate I took about 3 small sips of water and everything came up. I had been attributing it to my cold but surely not 3 days later. Has anyone else felt this way, a couple of weeks after a fill the feeling changes when you eat? When I called the nurse this morning she pretty much bitched me out for not calling sooner but again I was contributing it to the cold and the cough syrups (which are so thick) and mucous in my stomach (I know - TMI). :cursing: Can anyone else relate?

My stool was almost black - it scared me ! I looked all over the internet for info, but couldn't find anything. So that's what it's from -- iron ? Whew ... that's a relief to know that. ( Sorry for TMI ...LOL )

I am sure that this is TMI but I just have to ask: While you guys were on your liquid diet, did you have the runs? The reason why I am asking is because every 2 hours I am heading to the bathroom with liquid results. I am just wondering if this is normal. Again I do apologize if this is gross, I just want to know, what are some things you did to relieve this issue without breaking your diet. Thanks,

@PAguy I had no problems with liquids, I did have problems with each transition... there is a reason I always tell people to bring an extra pair of underwear along. When I felt the need to go, it was probably too late, I know TMI. I can say that it will eventually get better, and your husband will love you regardless. I would say it could be dumping syndrome. I also find it odd you are not taking your supplements. I had to start taking them 3 days post op. It took me about 45 minutes to get them all down.... Have you checked your blood pressure??? It is concerning that you are dizzy/light headed... are you really getting your fluids in a day???

This post may be a lil TMI...Be warned... I was banded on March 23rd and started working out a month after. Mostly elliptical n treadmill. The other day I tried this elliptical type 'climber/stepper', it did feel very intense but I pushed through. All of a sudden I had shooting stomach pains! I got so freaking cuz I've read about people's ports flipping n stuff on here. Anywho, I could hardly continue my work out as I tried to progress to a light jog on the treadmill after. I had to SPEEDRACE home b/c I thought I wouldn't make it on time. Tonight since the weather was nice in NY, my bf n I decided to go play basketball in the park. All was going well till about 45 mins in. Again I pushed through and lasted an hour. N then I thought I would go (sorry) in my pants. =\\\ Luckily, that was not the case. I had my second fill on Monday, so I know my port is in tact, in and place for that matter. Is this due to the band. Is our metabolism or something sudden revved up???? Anyone go thru anything like this??? It's highly annoying!

Well I truely believe when you love someone and choose to marry them, these are some of the things one SHOULD DO. I am glad you have him. Not TMI really - it's great info for this forum. RNY, other surgeies, and just poor health in general, do a lot to the human body. When I was thin once, I was in a terrible accident and had many dilemmas when I got home that I've never talked about EVER - they were kept between my husband and I; so I admire you for talking about that here. But I can tell you that I'd do the same for him. -
Not just explosive, but wet and with a light colored discharge. Came on yesterday after eating greek yogurt and some high protein granola mixed in. Been taking gas x but so far no help. Sorry if TMI, just worried about black age or Crohns!

I was sleeved on mon the 24th. I did clear liquids tue and wed. Full liquids day 3 to 7. I have had some cravings for real food then take a bite of anything or drink and craving goes straight away. Had a couple dreams of eating and worring that I ate too much of thw wrong thing!-lol I'm doing pretty good getting protein in. I've added extra sugarfree flavoring to premade premier protein shakes that have 30 grams protein each. Definately hard to not drink fast when you feel thirsty. Probably tmi subject but I think belly pain feel a lot better if things started moving! Any thoughts on that?

Noisy Stomach! does it get better?
Justkeepswimming37 replied to Dawnyellow's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was also sleeved 7/30 and just started the noises yesterday. TMI warning, I also went #2 for first time and produced a lot of gas so was hoping it was my body just getting up and functioning again. -
Well I found something that does not agree with my new tummy. Premier protein strawberry flavored. I took about 4 sips and my tummy felt sore and now I'm in the bathroom an hour later. Tmi.

5 Days Op With A Few General Questions
cab0ad replied to cab0ad's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
mews, thanks for the reply. I feel a difference in my attitude and pain every day. every day has gotten significantly better. The first 2 days I was miserable. I couldn't even sip Water without severe chest pain on every sip. I couldn't sit down or get up without pain. I couldn't even sleep in bed because it hurt too much to get up (and I couldn't get up by myself. hubby had to help me!). Day 4 was much better. the pain was more manageable and the chest pains when sipping were only there occasionally. today is day 5 for me and I feel even better. Today i have reached many milestones already. i can get out of bed myself with no help (still hurts, but at least I can do it!), I can reach to wipe after using the restroom (tmi...I know), I can drink without chest pains--they are much fewer and farther between! I can stand and sit without much pain. I feel SIGNIFICANTLY better today. I can't wait to see how much better I feel tomorrow! hang in there! Each day truly does bring more surprises that you will be thankful for!
