I have no idea about the rash other than to suggest that maybe it's the glue or iodine on your skin that you are reacting to. Benadryl cream or hydrocortisone? I had a "rash" which was more like a red itchy spot on my right middle abdomen and put hydrocortisone on it and I was fine. As to #2.... MOM can take hours to work. As long as you are not uncomfortable AND you are passing gas then everything should be working. It is different for everyone. It also depends on if you are still on pain meds or not. Here's my TMI. I used to go everyday and now it's every 3-4. My calories are really low and I know I'm not taking in as much fluids as I should. Plus it's all fluids. Hope this helped somewhat. Oh, I'm 7 days post op today.

I've had this issue before where I felt really bloated after eating really small amounts of stuff. TMI: Needed to poop! Are you constipated at all? I took something to help that issue and the next day all was well

Hahaha! I was just gonna ask this!!! TMI, but it took me about 6-8 "good size" poops to clear out from the pre-surgery liquid diet blues. I kid you not!!!! And today I had a small one and I was like, "Whatchoo hidin' in there Willis that I don't know about. I know you've got more for me, cuz it's been 3 days and about 2 1/2cups of solid food." ROFLMFAO!!! Hope the doc's fix has you feeling better and able to hydrate quickly! It sounds like EXACTLY what I had that sent me to the ER. Severe cramps even when taking a sip of water or ice chip and super nausea/bloating. ((hugs))

BM changes post op--TMI
52209 replied to savannahsmommie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Keep in mind if you are taking pain meds after surgery, a side effect to narcotics is constipation/impaction FYI for a little TMI. lol -
Tiffy, I think the chatter has slowed down too, maybe the holidays? Or maybe all the senior sleevers have been so thorough and covered most of it? I still love hearing you guys get on a TMI subject, gives me a chuckle. I am thankful for all the help and concern that you all share with us newbys and especially covering some subjects that you don't know how to ask.... Happy Thanksgiving all!

Don't beat yourself up this is hard. Also this kind of diet messes with your head. You have no sugar in your brain. Believe me I know because I've been the weepiest, craziest mess for the past two weeks. And I didn't have to do the liquid diet, I was on low-carb. I thought I would loose my mind. So give yourself a break. You are not eating anything, that messes with your normal body processes. You're not eating any Fiber so naturally all the extra Fluid has to go somewhere. I had diarrhea as well. It was so bad for the first few days that I also had rectal bleeding and pain (sorry, TMI, I know). So you had a salad and piece of chicken. That's not cheating, that's normal. Cheating is when you go to every drive-thru in town and order one of everything. Just think you only have 4 more days. Take it one day a time, one meal at a time. You're almost there! Hang in there. It will all be worth it!!! Good luck!

Don't worry about talking about poop here... it's not TMI, it's normal, acceptable conversation around these parts, LOL odd right? Yes, pre and post op diarrhea is normal. What surgery did you have btw? It could be a symptom of diet intolerances and not just the typical symptoms from a mainly liquid only diet.

I'm now 17 1/2 months post-op, and my periods seem to be getting heavier & heavier! Like huge clots heavier! Should I address this with my dr? my superpower is......

Total TmI - I am 7 days post gastric sleeve and today I finally managed to have a BM ... but it was awful! It was impacted and incredibly painful and pretty much took me 2 days to get it out. I was about 30 mins away from having my husband take me to the ER because the pain (not in my stomach at all) was awful. I cried and I never cry. I ended up taking stool softeners and using a sepository. I am terrified this will happen again. Please advise what you have done to stop this kind of thing happening. I'd rather give birth than go through that again! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

My stomach has been hanging forever, but my boobs lost the weight first and I'm doen a cup size (was small to begin with) and they're incredible saggy (sorry if TMI) I'm just hoping my somach doesn't hang too much further but I concluded a long time ago that there is a tummy tuck in my future.

Well I for one did not vomit for MONTHS after my surgery, and then I think it was due to a stomach bug I caught. It's a bummer to puke and I hate it, if there is an upside to having to ralph post-op it's the fact that since our stomach is so small you barf up a lot less. It's a quick half mouthful and I'm done, not the gut wrenching dry heaves of yesteryear. I know TMI! Since then I've over indulged a few times and the only relief was to puke it back up. Nasty, I know, but I ignored the FULL feeling and just HAD to eat that extra coupla bites. I paid for it too. I think the long term barfers are by far the minority and are more vocal than the non-barfers are. After all who's gonna post and say something like "Guess what, I didn't barf today!".

Back on LBT... looking for support @ 5 yr bandaversary
CHI-Girl posted a topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
Wow it's been a while! In the past Year leading up to my 5th bandaversary I feel like my life has went in to the dumps. I have to admit I've gained weight and that is greatly effecting me. Let me go back to Oct 2012 I decided I was going to get merina (this evil device) and that's when it all started. Yes my life changed and by that I mean my weight my mood my everything. I became a coach potato depressed person. I felt like I was going to bleed to death the first 6 months (sorry TMI). Month 7-8 gained another 20 lbs and then another few So I finally had the thing removed because well I started producing large cysts like grapefruits and well hence my frustration. I've been trying to get it together but well apparently it's not working. I did get a fill actually 2 since... and a slight unfill. Jan 1 I decided I should join the gym and stop being a coach potato and I've been doing pretty good with that but I haven't really lost much maybe 3.3 lbs and gained back 1.8 UGH. I know I need to learn to work this band again and not eat around it but wow it's a challenge I've become dependent on soup and hot liquid to losen this bad boy up so I can eat =( and well I need to stop it. Last 5 days I've only had hot liquid in AM (coffee) and I've actually been eating breakfast 1 egg and 2 slices of turkey bacon. I need help I need Idea's and support (a buddy... email, text and phone would be awesome and LBT) to get back to losing and working this band. let the suggestions and support unleash on a side note wow LBT has really changed. -
Im too shy to talk to anyone about this. I have not had my period for over a year now and today I was surprised it came back. I heard that having Bariatric surgery sometimes helps women get it. Does anyone know why? This may be TMI and if so sorry!! Today was just horrible day, I didn’t drink not even half of the water I’m suppose to and i know it’s a must. So I didn’t have to use the restroom till tonight (that’s how little I drank today, I know that’s bad). Who knows when I started because not even an hour ago (it’s 8:44 as I’m typing this) I had to use the restroom and that’s when I noticed. Thank Goodness I didn’t leak through my jeans at work. Because I haven’t had it in so long I couldn’t pin point why 1. I was craving sweets (had a SF popsicle to help with that since I’m a little over 2 weeks post op from VSG) 2. I was moody/emotional and lazy 3. Just uncomfortable

HELP! Day One of Pre-Op Diet and Massive Stomach Bloating and Pain
See.Allie.Run replied to See.Allie.Run's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks again to everybody who replied. As an update, it actually wasn't an allergic or bad reaction to the protein shakes, but a really bad case of the STOMACH FLU. Ugh. Only starting to feel a little better now - 4 days later. On the bright side, my fears about how hard the first few days would be on a liquid diet kinda were for nothing 🙂. I still can't stomach protein shakes after all the violent vomiting (sorry if TMI). So my first 4 days of a liquid diet has pretty much consisted of chicken broth, water and a little non-fat yogurt. At this point, just trying to get my fluids up. I haven't spoken to my surgeon yet about this...hoping it won't delay surgery. -
I thought maybe I did, cause my belly hurt so much last night. But then I farted. TMI?? Who knew gas could hurt so much? I sure didnt before I got this surgery!!

This may be TMI for some people, but this is my first time getting major slimes. Well, I came home from work tonight, and was actually hungry because I kind of forgot to eat all day....so I thought I'd try to eat a scrambled egg. Well, it tasted sooooo good! I ate the whole egg. After my last bite I knew immediatly that I had overdone it. About 10 minutes later I got the worst pain in my chest, felt like I had heartburn and got the infamous slimes!!! I thought ok, this is gonna pass, but it didn't. Had the slimes for about 45 mins....then got sick So, needless to say no more eggs for me for awhile. And I have to make sure I'm getting food in, as it's so easy to not eat now.

Well I found something that does not agree with my new tummy. Premier protein strawberry flavored. I took about 4 sips and my tummy felt sore and now I'm in the bathroom an hour later. Tmi.

Ideas for step 2 diet
Cupcake replied to JodiePaige's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with the above statements listen to your doctor and trust me although your food choices changes you still can not eat a lot, 1 cup of applesauce lasted me a week. your stomach is so small and I agree make sure you watch what you eat and remember to chew t least 30 times i learned the hard way as well one day i chewed my chicken so well I had no problems , today I ate the same chicken and didnt chew a piece well enough and I experience pain, leading me to puke sorry TMI but once that happened I felt better , it was just a reminder to chew chew and chew. good luck. -

Yes my Protein is low because my surgeons office said in recovery mode to just do what you can. I'm supposed to just either eat mushy foods or drink Protein shakes every 2 hours and that's where I've been ending up. It's SO frustrating that the scale hasn't moved in 6 days when I see people saying they lost 30 lbs the first few weeks. I know this is a long road and I need to relax and not compare it's just so so hard! I do feel like I drink more than I urinate out (TMI) but perhaps I am simply retaining Water?? Hey scalaholics, does this happen to you?
~Bridgette~ replied to KartMan's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I don't do that with pee, but when I know I'm getting ready to poop, I hop on the scale and then go back to the scale afterwards.... I guess, one day I'm hoping for a 5lb dump or something... now that's TMI!! LOL -
Have you considered Mirena? That has worked wonders for me. Before the Mirena I had an extremely heavy flow( I know, TMI) and always had to wear a super huge pad AND a tampon:cursing:. I would probably change it every 2/3 hours. But now all I have is spotting when my period comes around , Its great! Best part, no weight gain and I don't have to worry about taking pills everyday. You should ask your doc about it.

Well today is day two of my pre-op diet and wow... I thought I'd love having so many sweet things to eat and drink, but honestly I just want some regular real food to bite into. So far I've had an EAS, 1/2 of an Isopure, cream of chicken, yogurt and a SF popsicle. Yesterday was my first day and I thought this diet was going to be so easy. I ate about the same, however I was super busy. My husband and I took the boat out early and just enjoyed each other for most of the afternoon until the kids got out of school. Dinner time came and I was like, I got this and didn't have any cravings. Today I had only housework to keep myself busy, as hubby went to work and I was left feeling hungry all day. Tonight at dinner time I didn't have anything, but jealousy of what everyone else was eating. I'm already about to break in as little as 48 hours. Will this go away after surgery? Obviously I decided to start a blog in hopes that through this I may help someone along their journey like so many posts have helped me in making the decision in pursuing the sleeve. And also to get some encouragement on days that I want to give up. So let me tell you a little bit about me. I am 32, I have two kids, one of each. I'm fat. I'm married to an amazing soldier that isn't excited about me getting this surgery and becoming not so fat. He's a health nut and LIVES at the gym. He's scared of me leaving him which will never happen, because I am so IN LOVE and he has supported me through so much, so why not share the healthier and sexier me! My family and friends have no idea that I'm getting this, for one they ALL are over a thousand miles away and two I kind of feel embaressed like I didn't try hard enough to better my health as well as my appearance. Is this normal? My whole life I've been overweight, but I still was very confident in my appearance and my health was great. Well all of that changed when my husband got stationed in Oklahoma. We received our household goods and I over did it and hurt my back resulting in back surgery last June. Well my weight sky rocketed and even though I'm active again and pretty much back to normal, my weight will not go away or my health problems. I'm 5'5 241lbs. and now my health isn't so great and I'm bigger now than I was at nine months pregnant. My self esteem is hiding somewhere in all this goo that has attached itself to me, to the point where I refuse to get naked in front of my husband. I know TMI, but this never was an issue until now. So with a scattered topic blog, here I am ready for a new healthier and happier me that will look and FEEL sexy again soon. Surgery is scheduled for October 3rd.

so i haven't used birth control for the last 7 years because we are hoping to ave one more beautiful baby to add to the bunch. but obviously my focus is on recovery and weight loss right now. i am 3 weeks out tomorrow and my obgyn said he would send me an rx to pick up at the pharmacy. my question is what does everyone prefer? it's been so long i'm not sure what's out there. i used the patch before and hated it. also used the nuva ring and could never get it to stay in (always came out during sex and about half way out during a bm- sorry if that is TMI). sounds like he is sending me a script for a pill. he said they are all basically the same so unless i requested a specific one he would just call in an everyday common one so it should be pretty text book!
