Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters
TracyK replied to TracyinKS's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi everyone! I went and got .5 added. I am now at 1.5 and right now I am starving! I have to do mushies today & tomorrow. I had not "lost" any of my last fill but she said it was more than likely due to the weight loss making the band loose. That is what I thought too. She had a harder time finding the port than she normally does, but it still did not hurt, thank GOD! Tracy-so sorry that you are missing the concert. I would give my right arm to go... Michelle-way cool NSV. Feels great, right? Even though I am married, I like those kinds of NSVs. Just because we are on a diet doesn't mean we can't look at the menu, right? LOL Wow, look at all the violets signed on right now....woohoo!! HI EVERYONE!!! I will talk to you all later....need to get to my evening routine w/ dd. -
Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters

Ack! My internet provider is being really crappy lately... very spotty service... on one sec... off the next... I wrote a post about my MAJOR NSV today... but it vanished... here it is again... So my gf & I were in a coffee shop this morning waiting for our lattes & there was this guy there & we started talking about the lids & joking around, etc... and then our coffees come & my gf & I go sit at a table, and she says to me, "That guy was totally flirting with you!" & I'm like "Huh?" because I have not been flirted with in more than 20 years, so she re-runs the scene and -- OMG! -- She's Right! He was flirting with ME!! I was wearing what I think of as my sexy "Laura" outfit -- the low-cut top that make my boobs look BIG (my gf said she thinks of it as the "St. Pauli Girl"'s top -- ha ha!) & my new cool jeans... PLUS I'm not wearing my wedding rings because they fall off now... I was stunned & thrilled all at the same time! What an ego boost! I liked it!!! -
Okay. I'm home. Can I share a retarded NSV? I have a routine when I get home. I have a lil "private time" in the quiet room. You know...the room with the tub and bowl in it. ANYHOW... Today while 'watering the flowers' I leaned forward and hugged my knees. Why? Something to do. Do you know I could get my arms all the way around my legs and touch my elbows effortlessly? I was astounded! I HAVE LOST SO MUCH WEIGHT! I don't remember whether I could hug my knees like that in the past. I could barely touch my arms together, and certainly couldn't touch my elbows. All the stuffins in my belly and thighs were prohibitive to the huggins I may have done. I don't weigh again until next week Friday, so I don't know where I am today. I am, however, skinny enough to hug my knees and touch my elbows. That rocks. More later! N.

Just checking in to say HI. I missed you while the site was down. Glad to see everyone is A-OK. I'm okay, too! NSV: I had to buy new coats yesterday. Last year's coat was a 3X. THIS year's coat is an XL. And I can button it and have a little wigglin room in it. I was blown away by that! BLOWN. AWAY! nat

Couch to 5K - Week of 04 ? 10 November
KarenG. replied to losingjusme's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I am truly shocked that week 4 wasn't too bad!!! True story - during the second 3 minute run (alternates 5 and 3 min runs) I actually FORGOT I was running and was jerked back into consciousness when the guy told me to stop! This is truly a MAJOR NSV for me - I have never "forgotten" that I was exercising before in my life! -
Brandi---Marines are just yummy. I married a Air Force man, very very yummy! We all just love a man in uniform! Long distance justs might be the way to go...lol... Nikki--yeah for you! Great NSV!! WOO HOOO!! Steph--I have no self control either. I am freaking hating all this candy in the house....I need to just pitch it. My kids need to understand Mommy does not want to get fat again! UGH!! Sweet--2 1/2 is just nuts for skiiing, but then again I am 30 and would NEVER EVER do it...lol.... Claud--it is snowing here, so when I get there I may just stay with you until Spring. I hate snow, I hate snow!! Banannie---wooo hooo doing the happy dance for you baby!! WOO HOOO!! Congratulations sweetie you hot hot mamma! Transformer--I hate jury duty, I always get out of it. I am soo much of a sucker and would never convict anyone. Tell them it is your friend's birthday (mine,lol..) on the 7th so you can't possibly do jury duty that week in moral support of me! lol.... Thin--I freak out as well. I hate when the boards go down.

You know, it could be pretty funny to make a circus size tent "quilt" out of our old clothes. What a NSV! To donate to the tent quilt! -
Another small NSV (can be so BIG!)
sherilynn replied to sherilynn's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Unlike any other. And these little NSVs...they're like small gifts or rewards along the way. -
Okay, so Saturday night I went to a friend of the family's surprise 30th birthday party. I wore jeans, a sweater, and a pair of boots. I think I was looking pretty good, if I do say so myself. Anyway...I was sitting at my table and my Aunt came up to me and said..."I just have to tell you...you look so f***ing good". I started cracking up. That made me feel totally awesome. Even my boots were smaller. I used to wear a size 9 and on Saturday I was wearing a size 8 shoe. Woo Hoo...I'm so excited!!! Did I mention that I LOVE MY BAND????? :whoo:

I got dressed for work from my boyfriends this a.m. It was a day that I just did not feel like wearing what I had packed to wear. Just wasn't in the mood - if you can relate. :sick In a bag in the corner of the dressing room, I had a pair of really cute cropped pants from Avenue size 16. I bought them two weeks ago, to hold onto them for 'someday'...b/c I got a great deal on them. I thought "Hmmmmm". So I figured with a little luck....BINGO. In the pants with plenty of room. Not too tight - but PERFECT. I astonished myself! Size 16? ME? No, couldn't be. So I took them off to double check the tag. Sure enough!! I bought them in The Avenue, so naturally they're a woman's 16. But SO WHAT! They're mine, and the fit! So now, the plan after work is to go and buy other colors! lol Maybe I'll get one size 14, for 'someday'. :whoo::clap2::whoo::clap2::whoo:

Good Morning/Afternoon, #7's! Beautiful sunny, but chilly morning here in PNW. We're going to go see the BEE MOVIE in Coos Bay OR today. Looking forward to that. Last week DH & I went to see "Dan in Real Life" and LOVED it!! Good movie! Have tried several times to do that multiquote thing and can't figure it out. Can you tell me how to do that, Janet?? You are doing great! I am happy to have some baggy clothes, too, and found yesterday that I can already fit in to some of the things I packed in the RV for "later". Yesterday I wore a Panama Canal t-shirt I bought on a cruise last year and never wore! And I have one from Jamaica that fits now, too! Found a pair of pants, new ones, that I can wear, also. It's great! Guess what my sister made for breakfast???? Cinnamon rolls!! They were on the table staring at me when I came in from the RV!! DH had fixed me an eggbeaters omelet before I came in, so it's not like I didn't have anything to eat. DH gave me a tiny sliver of his that couldn't even qualify as a "BITE", but gave me a taste, anyway. She's fixing meat loaf for dinner, so I can live with that. But, anyone else finding that things that are soft texture like that, the band doesn't care!!?? My restriction seems to be greatly influenced by the texture of the food I'm eating. Congrats, again, on the NSV's 7's! :ranger: :kiss2:

SoCal that is a really neat NSV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are looking great. I haven't seen PinkyLee yet. My husband talked to her on Friday when the moving truck was there. Hope to see her soon in her new house. I'm sure she is really busy with the new house and closing on her former house I think tomorrow. I've been just maintaing. I'm getting stuck more so that's scary for me. I don't do that unless I'm overfilled. I think its stress. I've been extremely busy at work, working long hours. I'm taking a little break from all of this. Hope to hit it hard in Jan., but meanwhile trying not to do too much damage. Sounds like many of you are so close to goal. That is terrific.

My weekend had us visiting a friend on the street. An old friend of mine with a 9 y/o moved to my street a few years ago. The daughter called for an impromtu playdate. Me and friend drank a bottle of wine. Got the Bodybugg today, came home and got it downloaded. Tomorrow will be for real, with no wine. heheheh We have more friends tomorrow. A trip to the zoo with one group and then some over for dinner in the PM. It's my between classes weekend so I'm super scheduled. A little NSV for me, I put on a jean jacket I bought a few months ago. It was snug. Today it fit with room to spare. That was nice. I'm still feeling stiff from the fall/I want my mommy workout. Ack. I hope I feel better tomorrow. TX-The jersy thing would be cool. BG-Sorry you're still at work. You're still at work aren't you? D-What about you? What's your weekend like? Living the Dream-Don't let us intimidate you. Read the most recent 50 pages to get a feel for us. We're rather a tight group but if you can tough it out come hang with us. We all love biking. Yeah and for the more relavant biking stuff go back to pages 80-120 ish I think. Peach out! (Change a letter make a new word.)

I just got back from the Carribean in August, and yes, I wore a swim suit - a Tankini instead of my moo moo type I usually wore (pre band), but no matter what weight, if I'm going to the ocean, I'm wearing a swimsuit. I might not wear a bikini, but I'm wearing a swimsuit and enjoying myself just like everyone else. You deserve to have a good time, so put it on and enjoy! By the way, this summer was a NSV for me in the swimsuit area, I purchased a one from Victoria Secrets (a tankinni) and I actually felt good in it!

Nice NSV. Good job. Happy birthday.

Where is everyone? I had a NSV yesterday. I went to the post office to pick up a registered letter and I had to show ID. The clerk said "Are you sure that's you?" when I showed her my driver's license. She said "You look much thinner, you must have lost a lot of weight". I didn't think I looked fat in my pic, but I guess I did. I'm still having trouble with my body image. A co-worker told me yesterday I was REALLY THIN. I still feel plump! I wonder how long it takes to realize you aren't so fat anymore.....
-
and I am so happy I got my band!! Today, I had to go to get my drivers license renewed-one of those things you have to do every 5 years on your birthday...well, you know how they take that god awful close up picture for your license? I could barely see my double chin-it always seems like on your license it is so dramtically obvious in your pictures-it was nice to see a pic that was almost normal-just one of those nsv's worth mentioning-pretty soon we all will not have to lie about our wieght on our drivers license!!!-there will be no need.

Boo-I love your tag line about finding your treasure. fantastic! Congrats on the NSV. Love to hear all about it. I bet it feels great. Okay, so I weighed my younger daughters candy bag out of curiosity and it weighs 6 pounds. I thought it was heavier than that, but still, 6 pounds of freaking candy. My older daughter already hid her bag because he dad is a major junkie for candy. She knows he will plow through it in days (and maintain is svelte 175lb frame...arrrghhh!!!). I am not hearing the candy call to me yet. I hope it keeps up. I just don't want it (wtf..that is so unlike me). Think of it this way girls...for most of us, now thru New Year's would have been a free for all eating wise. Thanks to the bands, the worst case may be a maintenance or small gain if we are not careful. Of course, the goal should be to try to be careful and still lose over the holidays. Just a different perspective for you. Nat-sorry to hear about the job crap. It is equally frustrating because I know that job eats up so much of your life. At least your sweet dad was there to remind you how great you are (and how young you look!). Keep us posted. Steph-enjoy the couch to 5k on the "dreadmill" (love that). Lucky for you to not have any candy in the house. Sweet-you will be pleased to know I just completed week 1/day 2 of couch to 5K. Feeling good. Especially since my bugg has told me that so far today I have burned 1255 calories. I have only eaten 150 so far. yippee. We'll see if I can figure this thing out. Okay..I seriously need to get some stuff done before school tonight. I will check back later if I can.

Sweet--I am sure you are exaggerating and you look good in a 10 silly girl! Nat---wooo hooo 16! ALMOST OUT OF LANE GIANTS! You go girl! Bman--I agree with Steph--go get checked out! Kay--let me know how the Body Bugg works for you babe! WOO HOO! Bk--of course I had confidence girl! lol...I was young! I was just 18 or 19, a size freaking 7 and HUGE tatas where they should be! lol..... I wish my kids were older. This candy is gonna kill me! I had a HUGE NSV today, I went to a chapter for work that I haven't seen in about 4-6 weeks. Well anyways. They were all amazed at how I looked. I got tons of compliments, even from guys saying "I know I am not supposed to say this, but you have lost a ton of weight and look great", but the best thing was 1 lady who knew I was going to get PS. She said to me "I can't believe you are back after surgery so fast! You look great!!" WOOOO HOOOO!! It took me a minute to convience her that I hadn't had it yet, but she was convienced I did! WOOO HOOO!!! :whoo::whoo::whoo::bounce::bounce::bounce::whoo::whoo::whoo::whoo:

August Bandsters How are you Doing So Far
salsa1877 replied to MissNilsa's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have noticed that I am losing in places that I never lost in before. The first time I was on Atkins I lost a lot of weight (down to 185) I just seemed to lose a little bit everywhere, but when I gained it back I gained it all back in my upper torso area. Now that I am losing again that is where I am noticing it most. Also in my thighs!! Huge NSV: Today I was lecturing to my students and noticed that I could completely cross my legs like a proper lady. So while they looked like they were ready to die from boredom, I was super excited because for the first time since I could remember, I could actually cross my legs and not look like a man!!! Now if I could just get rid of this pesky double chin. I really only need one! -
Jackie - I am here - just busy at work - 5 people got laid off this month 4 we found out about yesterday morning - i am really going to miss one "Gary" our mail guy - such a great guy - he & his wife are the ones who gave me a ride home Saturday after drinking too much wine... I have been sort of bummed out for the last few days (i knew this was going to happen for a few weeks now) I too haven't been making the best food choices this last week - wine, a little candy and last night thin crust pizza. Only walked 4 miles this last week - Sat & Tues 2 miles each day but did a 15 min mile on Tuesday. The scales are proof - only down 1/2 lbs this week. But guess better than nothing. Well all the candy is GONE - next party is on the 17th - which will involve drinking - am going to have to watch myself since i can't eat much so the wine really hits me fast... ' Took my GD out tricker treating last night - she's 3 - she was Spiderman (she's a little tom boy) - and it was great - my son is 36 and other 2 grand kids 16 & 12 so it's been a while since i have been tricker treating - so i did get a slow .50 miles in yesterday. Ce Ce - CONGRATULATIONS :clap2::bounce::whoo: That is so great - ONELANDERS - YOU ARE DOING FANTASTIC.:bounce::whoo::clap2: Phyl - Please have a safe trip - hope you are bring some cool clothing - it's still in the 90's here this week. OK hasn't been a great week as stated above - but i do have a NSV Yesterday went to Wendys' for lunch - had the chicken club minus the bread - while waiting in line looked up at the security monitor and saw this thin pumpkin (I had an orange pumpkin tee shirt on) and at first didn't realize it was me - for the last few year - i did look like a big old pumpkin in it :biggrin1: OK Ladies who like me have sorta been making little bad choices - we have to stop now - as this is how those bad habits come back - just a little of this a little of that - then next thing you know - BAMB we are right back where we started... Today is a new day - and I pledge to make healthier food choices this next week... How about the rest of you???
