SoCal that is a really neat NSV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are looking great. I haven't seen PinkyLee yet. My husband talked to her on Friday when the moving truck was there. Hope to see her soon in her new house. I'm sure she is really busy with the new house and closing on her former house I think tomorrow. I've been just maintaing. I'm getting stuck more so that's scary for me. I don't do that unless I'm overfilled. I think its stress. I've been extremely busy at work, working long hours. I'm taking a little break from all of this. Hope to hit it hard in Jan., but meanwhile trying not to do too much damage. Sounds like many of you are so close to goal. That is terrific.

    Has anyone taken up Bycyling?

My weekend had us visiting a friend on the street. An old friend of mine with a 9 y/o moved to my street a few years ago. The daughter called for an impromtu playdate. Me and friend drank a bottle of wine. Got the Bodybugg today, came home and got it downloaded. Tomorrow will be for real, with no wine. heheheh We have more friends tomorrow. A trip to the zoo with one group and then some over for dinner in the PM. It's my between classes weekend so I'm super scheduled. A little NSV for me, I put on a jean jacket I bought a few months ago. It was snug. Today it fit with room to spare. That was nice. I'm still feeling stiff from the fall/I want my mommy workout. Ack. I hope I feel better tomorrow. TX-The jersy thing would be cool. BG-Sorry you're still at work. You're still at work aren't you? D-What about you? What's your weekend like? Living the Dream-Don't let us intimidate you. Read the most recent 50 pages to get a feel for us. We're rather a tight group but if you can tough it out come hang with us. We all love biking. Yeah and for the more relavant biking stuff go back to pages 80-120 ish I think. Peach out! (Change a letter make a new word.)

    Wear a swimsuit?

I just got back from the Carribean in August, and yes, I wore a swim suit - a Tankini instead of my moo moo type I usually wore (pre band), but no matter what weight, if I'm going to the ocean, I'm wearing a swimsuit. I might not wear a bikini, but I'm wearing a swimsuit and enjoying myself just like everyone else. You deserve to have a good time, so put it on and enjoy! By the way, this summer was a NSV for me in the swimsuit area, I purchased a one from Victoria Secrets (a tankinni) and I actually felt good in it!

Where is everyone? I had a NSV yesterday. I went to the post office to pick up a registered letter and I had to show ID. The clerk said "Are you sure that's you?" when I showed her my driver's license. She said "You look much thinner, you must have lost a lot of weight". I didn't think I looked fat in my pic, but I guess I did. I'm still having trouble with my body image. A co-worker told me yesterday I was REALLY THIN. I still feel plump! I wonder how long it takes to realize you aren't so fat anymore.....
  8. and I am so happy I got my band!! Today, I had to go to get my drivers license renewed-one of those things you have to do every 5 years on your birthday...well, you know how they take that god awful close up picture for your license? I could barely see my double chin-it always seems like on your license it is so dramtically obvious in your pictures-it was nice to see a pic that was almost normal-just one of those nsv's worth mentioning-pretty soon we all will not have to lie about our wieght on our drivers license!!!-there will be no need.

Boo-I love your tag line about finding your treasure. fantastic! Congrats on the NSV. Love to hear all about it. I bet it feels great. Okay, so I weighed my younger daughters candy bag out of curiosity and it weighs 6 pounds. I thought it was heavier than that, but still, 6 pounds of freaking candy. My older daughter already hid her bag because he dad is a major junkie for candy. She knows he will plow through it in days (and maintain is svelte 175lb frame...arrrghhh!!!). I am not hearing the candy call to me yet. I hope it keeps up. I just don't want it (wtf..that is so unlike me). Think of it this way girls...for most of us, now thru New Year's would have been a free for all eating wise. Thanks to the bands, the worst case may be a maintenance or small gain if we are not careful. Of course, the goal should be to try to be careful and still lose over the holidays. Just a different perspective for you. Nat-sorry to hear about the job crap. It is equally frustrating because I know that job eats up so much of your life. At least your sweet dad was there to remind you how great you are (and how young you look!). Keep us posted. Steph-enjoy the couch to 5k on the "dreadmill" (love that). Lucky for you to not have any candy in the house. Sweet-you will be pleased to know I just completed week 1/day 2 of couch to 5K. Feeling good. Especially since my bugg has told me that so far today I have burned 1255 calories. I have only eaten 150 so far. yippee. We'll see if I can figure this thing out. Okay..I seriously need to get some stuff done before school tonight. I will check back later if I can.

Sweet--I am sure you are exaggerating and you look good in a 10 silly girl! Nat---wooo hooo 16! ALMOST OUT OF LANE GIANTS! You go girl! Bman--I agree with Steph--go get checked out! Kay--let me know how the Body Bugg works for you babe! WOO HOO! Bk--of course I had confidence girl! lol...I was young! I was just 18 or 19, a size freaking 7 and HUGE tatas where they should be! lol..... I wish my kids were older. This candy is gonna kill me! I had a HUGE NSV today, I went to a chapter for work that I haven't seen in about 4-6 weeks. Well anyways. They were all amazed at how I looked. I got tons of compliments, even from guys saying "I know I am not supposed to say this, but you have lost a ton of weight and look great", but the best thing was 1 lady who knew I was going to get PS. She said to me "I can't believe you are back after surgery so fast! You look great!!" WOOOO HOOOO!! It took me a minute to convience her that I hadn't had it yet, but she was convienced I did! WOOO HOOO!!! :whoo::whoo::whoo::bounce::bounce::bounce::whoo::whoo::whoo::whoo:

August Bandsters How are you Doing So Far

I have noticed that I am losing in places that I never lost in before. The first time I was on Atkins I lost a lot of weight (down to 185) I just seemed to lose a little bit everywhere, but when I gained it back I gained it all back in my upper torso area. Now that I am losing again that is where I am noticing it most. Also in my thighs!! Huge NSV: Today I was lecturing to my students and noticed that I could completely cross my legs like a proper lady. So while they looked like they were ready to die from boredom, I was super excited because for the first time since I could remember, I could actually cross my legs and not look like a man!!! Now if I could just get rid of this pesky double chin. I really only need one!

Jackie - I am here - just busy at work - 5 people got laid off this month 4 we found out about yesterday morning - i am really going to miss one "Gary" our mail guy - such a great guy - he & his wife are the ones who gave me a ride home Saturday after drinking too much wine... I have been sort of bummed out for the last few days (i knew this was going to happen for a few weeks now) I too haven't been making the best food choices this last week - wine, a little candy and last night thin crust pizza. Only walked 4 miles this last week - Sat & Tues 2 miles each day but did a 15 min mile on Tuesday. The scales are proof - only down 1/2 lbs this week. But guess better than nothing. Well all the candy is GONE - next party is on the 17th - which will involve drinking - am going to have to watch myself since i can't eat much so the wine really hits me fast... ' Took my GD out tricker treating last night - she's 3 - she was Spiderman (she's a little tom boy) - and it was great - my son is 36 and other 2 grand kids 16 & 12 so it's been a while since i have been tricker treating - so i did get a slow .50 miles in yesterday. Ce Ce - CONGRATULATIONS :clap2::bounce::whoo: That is so great - ONELANDERS - YOU ARE DOING FANTASTIC.:bounce::whoo::clap2: Phyl - Please have a safe trip - hope you are bring some cool clothing - it's still in the 90's here this week. OK hasn't been a great week as stated above - but i do have a NSV Yesterday went to Wendys' for lunch - had the chicken club minus the bread - while waiting in line looked up at the security monitor and saw this thin pumpkin (I had an orange pumpkin tee shirt on) and at first didn't realize it was me - for the last few year - i did look like a big old pumpkin in it :biggrin1: OK Ladies who like me have sorta been making little bad choices - we have to stop now - as this is how those bad habits come back - just a little of this a little of that - then next thing you know - BAMB we are right back where we started... Today is a new day - and I pledge to make healthier food choices this next week... How about the rest of you???
  13. i didnt eat any candy this halloween. i stuck a tootsie roll special edition (vanilla) in my mouth. chewed a couple of times and spit it out. not something i intended, but DD needed one in half. it was an instinct just to bite it and eat the other half. sooo glad i thought and out it went. i was banded October 2006, i found one pic that DH snapped while i (begrudgingly) posed with DD last year. this year, i wanted to see the difference. 102.25 lbs down from last halloween. yeah, i can see it!

Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters

I really don't pay too much attenion to that but I think I have about 3 in and all i know is i have the new band small - all those #'s are too much to keep track of - all i care about is the restriction and that I have and the weight loss and that's coming... I bought good candy cuz i don't the the little kids to suffer cuz i can't eat it - but you know what - i can - i had 1 reeses pb cup last night (again) but it was only one... and i was truely satisfied with one - and my midnight run to the kitchen only ate 1/2 of my sf fudgecicle. So my brain is working..... Linda - Thanks so much !!! I believe in truth - even if it hurts some times :0) - I have played all the mind games with myself for many years, i am a private eater - I am the one who would say - 1/4 of a pint of ice cream isn't a serving - the whole pint is just one serving - I watched a skinny girl in our office yesterday pull out a pint of ice cream - she had 5 bites and put it back - oh to be normal - but i guess i am getting there - 1 reese pb cup and not a whole bag last night :0) CC sorry about the hair loss - I am told that it happens to some - but that it does grow back- but that doesn't help while it's happening so here's a hug:girl_hug: My bmi started at i think 43 so that mean for us who weigh more we are going to lose faster than those who done (this is mho - i don't know if it's sciencifict or not) Are you keeping a food diary??? You may have just hit a platuea (sp). Increase the intensity of your exercise if you can - they say that's what burns the fat not the lenght of time but how hard you work out - drink plenty of water as that's one of the ways our body gets rid of the fat - talk to your doc/nutritionist about this.. I don't think i will be losing much this week with my little wine drinking this weekend and skiping exercise on Monday and tonite. this morning scale was down only 1/2 lbs from last week - i have had a fill and not eating half as much as i was the week before.. So who knows why our bodies seem so attached to our fat - Just keep up the good work and it will all work out in the end. I bet you do notice a diff in your clothes though and that's always a great NSV...

I met my NSV goal for the month... I can now fit very comfortably in those size 16 dress pants I bought over 2 years ago!! I don't know about anyone else.. but I welcome NSV's almost more than the actual weight loss!!!

    Anyone here?

I will!! So far so good today...I am just loving my new restriction too! Sherilynn - you have come sooooo far! It is a long journey with the band. But, its a life changing journey. You have lots of NSV!! I love the no snoring part, my DH loves it too! He finally can get some sleep. lol. I noticed no more heat rashes this past summer! In the past my thighs rubbes so much, that I would get a rash between my thighs, it would drive me nuts.

    another NSV

I finally broke down and started cleaning out my closet over the weekend. I had been putting it off for so long. I have lost 60 pounds since my surgery on 1/19/07 and lost 15 pre-surgery so that is like 75 pounds since last year this time. Surgery day I was wearing 26 bottoms and 26/28 tops and today I am in 18 bottoms and 18/20 and XL tops.I have enjoyed trying on and buying new clothes, underwear and bras. But for some reason have been reluctant to part with any of my old stuff. This is my first time losing enough weight that I had to buy all new stuff and in the back of my mind, I have been kinda paranoid and think what if I gain it back and need my old clothes again? I was watching Lifetime on Saturday afternoon and something told me that it was time. I bagged up 5 huge bags of stuff for Goodwill and a huge bag for one of my cousins. It was very interesting pulling out those clothes & remembering wearing them. But then I got so sad and mad at myself. How could I have let myself get that big? AND I had way more size 30/32 than I recall buying. I have pretty much been the same size for 15+ years so you can imagine the amount of clothes I have and have not even touched upstairs yet. I got mad, called my best friends and blessed them out asking them, "how come you didn't tell me that I was that big?". They all were like "I thought you knew?". Evidently I was in some serious denial and even if they had said anything, I would probably have gotten mad at them for something that was not their fault. I tried on some clothes that I definitely remember wearing and they are bagging off of me. I held them up and they were huge pieces of material. I got depressed temporarily thinking about the past and how I feel as if I have wasted like 15 years of my life, but then I snapped out of it, became grateful for the long way I have come and was able to hang all my new smaller clothes in the old place. I think I have gotten over my anxiety of parting with my big old stuff and I am looking forward to throwing out the rest that is upstairs to make room for even smaller clothes. It really changed my perspective because i have been unhappy lately with this weight loss lateau thing that i am going through despite losing inches and having to buy new clothes. Seeing so many of my old clothes at one time really put things in focus for me. I am shedding the old weight, old clothes, old everything.

Good morning, Stayed up way too late last night watching the Sox. I went outside after they won and all you could hear were people going nuts. There are a few pubs in my little Boston neighborhood right at the end of my street. It was wild. Fun to hear though. The kids got to wear Red Sox shirts over their school uniforms today so they were really excited (more about the clothes than about the baseball). Monday morning weigh-in: 275/211/157 +1lbs from last week..UGH! Whatever. I just have to keep plugging along. Thanks for all of your band advice. I am going to stick this out the next week and see if things loosen up a bit. I just miss eating my salads and healthy foods. I am not digging the acidy feeling either. I think I will try some Zantac. It doesn't help that I have a MAJOR toothache that needs to be checked out. I just know it will cost a fortune. Always does...grrrrr. Steph-sounds like a fun time with DD. Great! I wouldn't sweat the 4lbs. I am sure it will be gone in the next day or two. Especially if Chinese food was involved. All that sodium! Drink your water and it will flow off. Maurdan-nice to see you. What is new? How are you doing with your band? VA-sorry to hear that you think your interest may be unrequited. Use him for practice. ha. Practice your flirting on him and see what happens. Maybe he has some nice male friends...don't rule anything out. Sounds like you had fun anyway. B-man-glad to see you. I know you are in a rut and I KNOW you will get through it. We are here even if you want to vent. It sucks and I am sorry you are going through some crap. Be as quiet as you need to be, but let us know you are here and okay. Jill-exciting NSV!!!! I am so excited for you. I have a goal to weigh less than DH. He has always been smaller than I am. I think a few months ago he weighed about 189 and I was thinking..great, I can finally catch up to him. Then the bastard weighed himself the other day and he was down to 173. Without freaking trying!!! I want to clobber him. Enjoy being the smallest your hubby has seen you. It must feel great! Boo-sorry about the PS. You are looking fantastic so try to enjoy all you have accomplished. It is frustrating though when you work so hard and have done all you can and just need some tweeks to be perfect! Give it some time, maybe a cash windfall will come your way! :boink: Transformer-keep us posted on the elliptical. Sounds great! Nikki-how is baby boy today? Thinking of you.... I have to run girls. Talk soon.

Lizrbit, Your right, I didn't eat six of the donuts like I would have before. And good news. I got back on track for the weekend and I can't wait for my monthly wght in on the 1rst. Remember I was 196 on Oct 1. I hope I am in the 180's now. That would be wonderful. My NSV today was that I had my back to my office door this morning and a coworker (dosn't know I had the band) walked in and gasped and said man, your loosin some wght! I said can ya tell...and she said yes! Loved the gasp! Wenjea, I know that it must be so frusterating not having the scale move. My encouragement to you is that you are changing your shape. Isn't it amazing how weights do that. You are probably in better shape than most of us. Looks like you are doing everything right. Just keep doing it. Maybe stop wghing on that scale and worry only about the inches. I am amazed at your wght loss! You should be so proud. Don't worry about rushing the numbers. It will happen, it really really will. By next May...these days will only be a memory! Your gonna be hot! blessings, Weazer

Jill---congratulations on the NSV! I bet that feels better than great! GOOD FOR YOU! Transformer--I haven't felt the need to eat it yet, thank goodness! I locked it up as well! lol..thanks for the vote of confidence though! Maud--Hey sweetie! Long time no see! How ya doing girl? Nikki--good morning to you and our baby boy! How is he and mommy doing? Sweet--I think I am ok if I don't get it this year, I am back to working hard at the gym. VA--woooo hooooo I bet you are happy girl today! What a great World Series!! I wish it was my Tigers, but congrats to you and your Sox! Brandi--where are you sweetie peatie? Wish I had kept your number I would have called you!!

    A Pleasant Realization . . .

Well I have a NSV, when I used to go to the library at school most of the chairs have the side arm rests which were way too tight for my big thighs so I would have to look for one of the very few that had no side arm rests. Well the other day I was with a group of friends and we sat down at a large table. I hadn't even noticed that I was sitting in one of those tight chairs pretty comfortably for hours. That was a happy day for me.
