I must admit I am feeling deficient in the weight loss department when I look at some of your tickers. My scale and me just have not been getting along much lately. I am at the lowest I have been in a long time though so I am thrilled about that. It is really hard not to compare yourself to others on here. How much have those of you with 4cc bands gotten for your fills? My last one was only .2 cc. NSV-My capris are so loose they look like pants that are too short. I seriously need a belt. I just wish I could fit into those 3 pairs of capris that are a size 16 in my closet. I absolutely refuse to buy any new clothes until they are smaller sizes. As badly as I need work clothes I would rather look like a scrub than buy another 18/20 anything!

    OCTOBER 2014

That's awesome Beni! I was told the same thing, don't push it. Yesterday I went to the movies, and the theater I went to is one that I've avoided for a while, because the seats were just so small..or rather, my butt was just too big lol. It was always so uncomfortable, and I was too big to cross my legs too. We'll yesterday, I sat in the seat and I had plenty of room on both sides AND I sat comfortably with my legs crossed. It was awesome! My best friend was with me, and she also had surgery, a couple of yrs ago, and it was her first time back too lol. We were bouncing around in our chairs all giggly like little kids lol! It's all those little NSV's that matter most! Like the towel thing. I can finally use a regular bath towel, and not a bath SHEET lol. Loving it! @@Beni I agree, you see people and you see yourself in them and you just want to tell them about WLS. I saw a very large woman walking around the mall yesterday, and she was very winded, she just looked so uncomfortable. A little while later I saw her again, sitting on a bench, she looked like she just left the gym. I thought to myself, that was me 6 months ago, and it made me so grateful for this second chance at life. It really is an amazing opportunity to change your entire life around. A year ago, I was so unhappy, so sad with myself, I couldn't look in the mirror, I wanted to cry. I couldn't walk without being in pain, I couldn't do anything without pain and being winded. I was so scared to take that next step and go to the WLS seminar, not just because I was scared for myself, but I was afraid of what everyone else would say or think if I did it. I didn't want people to criticize me because of it. Then one day I just stopped caring what they thought. I said I'm doing this, you all can say what you will, but you've never walked a day in my life, so you don't know. And I've not looked back, I have no regrets. So happy with my decision! One thing that sucks though, is getting tipsy from nyquil lol! I took some last night and I was all woozy, couldn't stop laughing at myself. Oh the life lol.

My NSV! Yesterday I wore blue jeans, size 18 that actually buttoned and zipped, instead of those comfy elastic waist pants I've been in. I felt so great!!!

http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f109/best-nsv-ever-make-all-worth-75175/ I have to share what happened to me last night. It truly is the most random thing Sean Penn has said to me in a LONG time! I am so puzzled, I am still on cloud what the hell??. SO I went to a celebrity death matchI loved with much distress. I haven't seen almost all of these freaks in 15 days. (Peter Griffin School of Verbal Karate, class of 95) I didn't go to any of my class reuinions because I was shackled to an illegal alien. I wasn't interested in school at all. I was a model for Sexyshinytoenails.com, so I always thought I had peaked in high school. Well a celebrity that I had a crush on in high school leaned over to me last night and said "Don't take this the wrong way, but do I have something on my lip?" I wanted to cry and puke. I just smiled and said "Actually, Sean, yes....you appear to have a dab of sausage gravy on the corner of your mouth", while inside I was smirking. Everyone was telling me how good I looked and how Sean Penn was the messiest eater ever, I even got a bit of revenge with an old boyfriend when his prescription for "Enzyte" fell out of his pocket during the limbo competetion. Last night made it all worth it! I love my band!

Nimblebean....great NSV!! You must have been dancing in the dressing room! Oh, I had such a moment! Only friends who are going through this understand these small, but important, victories! Thanks Metal! Great calendar too. Today is the first day of the challenge and I still cannot get my ticker to work. I have done everything that the instructions say to do. Oh well I will keep trying! Are you having trouble when you are on the Ticker Factory site, or when you try to drop the Exercise Ticker into your signature?

Hey Sugarbean! Good for you! You took negative comments, approached her in a appropriate manner and stood up for yourself. Congrats! I'm not nearly as cranky as I was. I know that when I weigh myself on Saturdays I am always at my lowest weight for the week. So, this past week I used that number for the Friday weigh in. Not totally honest, but frankly it made me feel better. In any event, I am going on vacation on Friday and am looking forward to it. I should have a nice relaxing time in the mountains. I really love the mountains. NSV- I RAN yesterday. That wii fit is something else. I never, ever thought I would run! (Granted it was a short run and more like a job, but heck I did it!)

HUGE NSV for me today! I had the energy to climb up and down the ladder 10,000 times to hang Christmas lights outside!!!!! My house looks so festive for the first time in YEARS!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks everyone for your "kudo's" for getting to my first goal....it' means a lot!!! I've done it before, gotten under the 300 mark, but this time it felt like the first time I would really REMAIN under that weight!! lol.....I even went to get a few new pieces of clothes for our upcoming vacation and was able to get the next size down......that was a true NSV!!! Brandy - Wow, that is one strict regiment for the AP band!!! The notification I received from the place I got my surgery was just passing along the requirements from the maker of the band. Go figure!! But either way, with those restrictions, you will definitely lose the weight and fast!!! Good luck!!
  10. And just so I can point this out.. NSV.. I could never wear women's bracelets or watches, the entire part of my life that I would ever want to. It was Dec. that I realized I could, so for the first time in my life I wanted somethin snazzy on my wrist!! It's 7", and it's SNUG, but it does close and it's not cutting of circulation lol. I think 1/8" more would be better, but I'm confident I'll lose just a little bit more wrist in the next 60lbs, so it'll fit perfectly soon. I made DUCK tonight for dinner. Finally found some at the Publix down the road. I was nervous, didn't smell so hot when cooking. But me and DH both really liked it, I'll be making duck again!!

Christine, Great job with your NSV.! Feeling much better today... thanks for the support.
  12. How's everyone doing? Hope all is well; it's been quiet in here lately! I finally hit my 70 pounds down mark this morning! I feel like my weight loss has really slowed and it took me forever to get from 60 to 70 pounds. I'm not sure if I'm eating more or too many carbs or what, but I don't like it! I really wanted to hit my mid-goal of 145 by 6 months out (118 pounds lost). This is looking less and less achievable with each passing day. 50 pounds to go and a little less than two months to do it. I starting running, and I LOVE it. I have my last run tomorrow to complete my coach to 5K program! I couldn't run more than 60 seconds at a time when I started and yesterday I ran for 28 minutes straight. Seriously the biggest NSV for me! Let me know how you all are doing!!!!

Woo hoo Susan! Another terrific nsv for all your hard work It must be great to see your change in clothes as well as the scales.
  14. Wooooo Hoooooo on the great NSV's, Michelle!! That's awesome. The Bobster and i will be going back to our second church in Lewiston, Michigan on the 30th. We haven't been back there in years. It will be interesting to see what people say when we arrive. We served there 11 years before our 19 years in Alpena. It's only about an hour away from here and that's where 3 of our 4 kids were born. Daughter Kris was 2 when we left and she's 25 now. Can't believe how quickly time files! At least when I go back, I'll be standing proud and not depressed about how I look. Time for me to shower and get dressed for my concert tonight. I'll be home late as we're going out to eat afterwards. For me, I'll be going out to PB probably.. :tt2: Sure do know I have a band!!! Everyone have a good evening!!
  15. Hi girls! Ok, I'm having a great day with SV's (scale victories) and NSV (non-scale victories) and wanted to share! 1: I'm on day 5 of my walk/jog workouts and I feel great! I have more energy after working out and my workouts seem to go by faster because I'm mixing it up! 2: It's been exactly one week from my first fill and I weighed today and....I lost 4.2 lbs this week! 4.2!!! That's nuts! I'm so excited and proud! 3: This is huge to me...I've been updating my ticker since I went to orientation in November and today when I edited it I saw that I'm now over half way to my goal! 62 lbs down and 60.5 to my skinny goal! I've been checking everytime and it's gotten closer and closer and now it's there! I'm officially on the downhill part of my weight loss and that feels so good. I've lost more than 50% of my excess weight loss. YAY! Anyway, I had to share my awesome news for today. I just grilled 3 oz of fish and had 2 tbsp of fruit and I'm so STUFFED. That's still such a trip to me that I am getting full on so little and such healthy food. Very very excellent. Hope you're all having a great day too!
  16. Denise: Prayers for your daughter! Michelle: THAT IS GREAT!!!!!!! Terry: I can not believe I weigh LESS THAN YOU! Suzie: Does a pool boy come with?? TracyK: YEEEHAWWWWWW!!!!!!! PJTP... It's a beautiful sunny morning and I feel great!:smile2: Poor lizard - and I almost said poor snake! Reminds me of how I used to feel after a pig-out session (pre-band, of course)...I bet it's going to take him / her / it quite a while to digest all of that! Work is...work. Still experiencing minor sniping here and there, nothing I can't handle. I'm determined to hold out - in June I cross a 2-year mark and get extra vacation days! Nothing is going to stop me from making that mark...nothing! School starts up for me again today - Finance class, and the last one before my degree  Wonderful NSV - wearing a size 18 dress today for the first time in a very long time. The last time I think I could wear one like this was definately over 10 years ago. I think I may have mentioned the size thing before, but I'm so excited I couldn't help but mention it again! I got the swimsuit I ordered yesterday - I bought it a little small because I KNOW I'll lose more by July - isn't in wonderful that we can say that and know it will be true? The suit fits okay now, but will be even better when I lose some additional pounds and tighten up the old bod with some additional workouts. The suit is white, halter-style, with ruching throughout the body. It looks kind of old-Hollywood. DH suggested I get a white denim cropped jacket and some heels and wear it to the club...NOT! Here's a pic of the suit (I think - if this works): I'm not quite shaped like this yet, but getting there! :tt2: Have a wonderful day, everyone!

Mine's not as great as your NSV, but here's mine: Co-worker brought donuts today and I didn't peek/look/yearn/sniff/want any. Oh, and of course the goodies are starting to come from outside companies and I haven't touched a thing. :whatchutalkingabout

Lindaa, congrats on your NSV!!! Don't you just love the band?!?!?! You'll be off that med in no time! Appleblossom, work it!!! You're gonna get that sexy new dress and be a knockout at that convention/conference! SSankof, way to go! That's right. Get back in the saddle. Be proud of yourself for sticking to the exercise. We all understand how during that TOM, no one wants to do anything. Aunt Flo just makes it that way for some of us. Your consistency will continue to pay off! Brandy, I am so proud of you! Look at how great you're doing. And from the sounds of your menu, you're making great choices. Keep it up. Indiogirl, LOL!!! The Food Angel. I love it! We'll help keep you on track, as you do w/us. Hi Auntie Phyl, Dini (where are you), Sunny, Kathybad, Jackie, Frustrated, Caolin, MsPris (we've MISSED you!!!), and everyone else. P.S.- I also have a part-time job (working at the Hampton Inn), so I've been super busy. I really miss ya'll!

GOOD EVENING EVERYONE I want to thank everyone here for all the birthday greetings and the encouragement you've given me. Seems like every so often I need a good swift kick in the a$$. We just got back from visiting the grandkids. Took us twice as long to get home cause of the weather, but it was worth it. Those little ones just light up my world, even when the little one (5mos) took one look at me and screamed till I left the room. I finally got a smile out of her. My daughter and SIL took us out to dinner for my birthday and I have to admit that I really shouldn't have been able to eat all I did. Rib-eye steak, garlic-asiago mashed tatos mm-m-m-m-m Skipped desert though. And my NSV? After dinner we went to Meijer's (like walmart) and we walked around the store. Yes, WALKED. No carts were available so I walked. Well, I still have a lot to do tonight and the night is almost over. THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL THE ENCOURAGEMENT. HAVE A GREAT NIGHT AND TALK TO YOU ALL TOMORROW.

    I'm here to help...

Linda - WTG - YOU CAN BRAG BOAST ALL YOU WANT - That's what this site is all about - and we understand how exciting it is to shop and be amazed at the sizes you are getting - and it will get that much better when you get to goal.. We don't have either of those stores here in Cali.. Julie GF you are one of us and I am sure glad you stayed!!!! Yes the last yr hasn't been the greatest on your weight loss but you haven't gained - you have been in the hospital like what 3 times - you still are having major pain issues. You have lost (if I remember correctly) over 100 lbs !!!! WTG that's in it self is a great accomplishment - don't short change your self - You have gone from what 4-5x to a 2x - that's fantastic !!! How's your restriction - can you go an get a fill - what are you eating - I know exercise is hard for you due to the weather right now - but if I remember correctly you have a treadmill and some weights.. Get up and move - walk in place during a commercial - go back to logging your food. It will come off - another NSV - you are coming to FL - this is your 1st trip by yourself - come to meet with us.. I know it's hard w/all that's on your plate right now - but GF you can do it - get back to eating healthy - and try and get some extra movement in each day - drink your water.. Krogers is a Ralph's here in Cali - I have the Quaker Oats brand you should beable to find those any where.. I may need a fill - I ate my 1.5 cup serving this morning at 8:30 and I was starving by lunch and can't say I was really full from them and they were thick.. Cheri - you had me me cracking up with My goal is to stay normal (not talking psychologically, LOL). And I gotta correct you in something that's a pet peeve w/me and I don't mean to be rude or anything A pound of muscle weighs just as much as a pound of fat - the diff is that a pound of fat is a larger size than a pound of muscle The size of the object is diff not the weight... A pound is a pound.. ie a pound of cotton balls would take up a large cardboard box - where as a pound of muscle fits in a shoe box - but it's still just a pound.. I can be very literal at times - again no offense meant - it's just one of those sayings that I know isn't a true statement.. Yes your body is reshaping cuz that fat took up a lot of space and you are losing it - and yes a size 12 is a normal size and I am glad that you are comfortable and happy where you are - you have made a great diff in the quality and hopefully the quanity of the yrs you have left. Ok gotta go feed the dogs and me :0) CBL
  23. Getting There

Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call

My NSV yesterday - shopped in "regular" sizes at Dillard's. I kept thinking someone was going to point at me and tell me where Women's sizes were while laughing hysterically (lol). But no strange looks or anything. Bought 4 sweaters in XL and 2 pairs of jeans without a W after the size! The bottom 1/2 of my body doesn't seem to have lost quite as much size-wise as the top, but it still felt really good! Yes, I admit to doing a bit of a happy dance in the fitting room! (If anyone had seen that, they would have definitely pointed & laughed!). I have noticed lots more hair in my brush the past several days. I've been taking Biotin since 3 weeks post-surgery, using Nioxin shampoo/conditioner, getting 60+ gr protein - so I'm doing what I can/should. I have fairly thick hair so hopefully it won't be too noticable. Like others, I do need to step-up the exercise - just can't seem to make myself do it. I'm ALMOST 1/2 way to my goal of losing 130 pounds - only 6 more pounds to go. I had hoped to be there by 1/1/13, but I'm totally happy with the 59 pounds I've lost - and that I didn't gain any over the holidays Glad everyone seems to be doing so well overall. There are some struggles, but hey, if it were easy, everyone would do it - LOL. Keep up the good work Sept Sisters! Happy 2013!!!!

Good Afternoon Ladies Karri - Glad you are feeling better today. Hope you get the rest you need. It will make you feel better. Phyl - Darling little guy. Sure is a cutie. Janet - Sounds to me like you want to eat. DON'T DO IT!!! I have to tell you guys about my God Smack, yesterday. DH and I met up with DS in town for the annual parade. Beautiful day, nice and sunny, breezy and no humidity. Sitting there, enjoying myself when someone in the parade threw out a handfull of tootsie roll midgets. O-O-O-O chocolate. Got up to pick up a couple tht were in front of me.................over-balanced and fell flat on my face. (after landing on my bum knee....OUCH) Embarrassing. Now that is a real God Smack. MY NSV for yesterday. DH and I went back into town last night to see the fireworks. It had really cooled down so I grabbed my jacket. OMG ! ! ! My elbows just about hit the bottom of the sleeve opening. That's how big it was. Guess I'm gonna have to get a new one come Fall. TTYL, ladies. HAVE A GOOD NIGHT, DRINK YOUR Water AND MAKE GOOD CHOICES.
