    Nsv

Tonight I went to Target and bought a couple shirts. One was in the women's department but i went from a 20/22 to a 16/18. Secondly, I bought my first shirt in the "normal" girls department... granted it is a XXL but that doesn't matter. I have not been able to buy anything in that dept. for years and years..... I am sooooooooooo happy!:clap2:

    The Bandsters' Constitution

Since I started the thread, do I have the power to veto the addition of green's "Newbies have the right to ask what PB and NSV mean" statement? LOL Sorry, green! I think that it should read "Newbies have to right to research information about their new band on Lapbandtalk.com." Get thee to the abbreviations thread! LOL Hee, hee!

  5. Hey wow, this post of mine is really old... i'm finally less than 10 lbs from goal. The biggest NSV... buying clothes at a regular store!! OMG that is the best! I'm wearing 10's right off the rack and my favorite sz 12 jeans that are only 3 wks old are too big!!! M*Azing. So, 15 months, down 92 lbs (93 this morning, but i wont count that till its consistent for a couple of days). SOOOOOOOOOOO very excited!!
  6. Terry - OMG how beautiful -- you are so so talented. Judy - I love your ring! TracyK - that is a wonderful NSV! Kity - I am right there with you -- good stuff=PB; bad stuff goes down just fine! I have a busy day today - grocery shopping; working; and making Apple and Sweet Potatoe pies. Have a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving everyone!
  7. I voted 100% for the BIG celebration. I do Celebrate all the little victories (scale and NSV's) along the way. I have committed to buying one outfit at each size rather than looking dumpy in too big of clothing all the time. I buy 5-7 outfits at every other size to save money. Mom had a bunch of items at my next size down so I've saved myself money on the next size (which I'm almost into!! woohoo) I've always had an extensive wardrobe so just these few of outfits is REALLY hard to deal with. Thank God that my shirts fit longer and I can have a few extras of those. I've hit 1/2 this past week as well. I honestly cannot afford to celebrate in any significant way. I know that I want the bodybugg but it's out of range at this time. My big celebration comes when I get to goal. New wardrobe, fitted fabulous leather coat (drool) and whatever else I can come up with at the time.

Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters

Good Evening, Violets.. The kids and grandkids just left and the Bobster and I are in a huge, brand new Ramada Inn and there are only two rooms occupied!! It's like I'm living in a mansion. Soooooooooo quiet. I used the exercise room last night and will do so again tonight. At least I'll get close to half my exercise goal for November. We leave for home in the morning. It's a 5 hour drive and the Bobster has to be back in time to leave for a Bible Study at 6 p.m.and I have a Chorus rehearsal at 7. Amelia Riann was baptized today and she was wearing the christening dress I had made for daughter Kris 25 years ago. She looked so precious, but didn't like it when the minister wanted to hold her. Afterwards she changed into an outfit that her Aunt Kris gave her and it was sooooooo cute. She had a dress, little coat and beret. I'll get pics posted when I get home. The greatest NSV was when grandson Everett gave me a hug before he left and said.. "Grandma, I can get my arms all the way around you!!!" I LOVED it! I also wore a velour dress that was a size L and it fit. AND I wore pantyhose that I didn't have to grunt and groan and ask for help to get into!! All NSV's. Hope everyone had a good weekend. I know many of us, me included, are struggling, but we will prevail!!! We are Violets and we have PURPLE POWER... not to mention each other! Everyone hang in.. tomorrow starts a new week and we still have the band in place to help us. We wouldn't be where we are without it and each other. Patience, Trust, Purple Power and WWJD??!!!

    Anyone here?

Yay Audree for getting to the gym! I can't wait to get back to the gym. today is my 10 month Band anniversary! I am down to 167 now. So Excited! I've got to share a NSV for me. I ordered these size 11 Jr. jeans off Ebay, Well, they come in and my DH opened them before I got home, and he mumbled out loud to my daughter, "There is no way she can fit into these jeans, they look like little girls jeans". So, I come home and he showed me the jeans, and I agreed with him, that there was no way I could fit into those jeans. Anyhow, to amuse myself, I decided to try them on to see how far it would take to fit into them. Guess what, THEY FIT. I couldn't believe it. My DH was clapping his hands and saying you do not need to lose any more weight, you are skinny! LOL. It just felt good to see how small the jeans were and to actually fit into them. I also tried on a size 10 slack at the store, and they fit. I didn't buy them, I wanted to buy them, however, I'm holding off to go on a big shopping spree in January for my 1 year Band B-day. Anyhow, hope everyone has a great week and enjoy your family & friends.

    Has anyone taken up Bycyling?

Well, I did it. I consumed an entire Taco Bell Naco Grande platter. By.My.Fucking.Self. No, I did not need it. No I did not need it. No I did not need it. Although, before banding I would of consumed mine plus hubbys and then some of DD and then maybe some tacos on top of that....with mexi fries and a huge ass drink. So, I guess I am still up and up from before banding. One NSV I had the other day at grocery store. I ran into an old friend and haven't seen her in about a year. She says, "looks like you lost some weight".....hell, I was happy that someone noticed.... I could of kissed her...on the mouth....with some tongue....(just kidding, just had to throw that in for you J!!, and the guys)

    Nsv

yesterday I went to my pcp for my fasting blood sugar testing (diagnosed pre-diabetic july 06) while talking to the doctor he suggested that I might be able to get off of metiformin (sp) if my a1c's were still looking good. I guess the last ones were good. I was excited and then the nurse called this morning and confirmed that I was to discontinue the meds. that my A1C's are doing much better. 5.4. this after 3 months following surgery I am happy. :bounce:

Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters

Good afternoon, Violets.. Ethan is napping, the dogs are at the groomers and I have a few minutes to catch up in here. Went to the new store opening today. I picked out a couple of sweaters, but put them back cause Ethan was getting fussy and I didn't want to wait in the longggggggggg line to check out. I'll wait until I have some time without Ethan so I can take my time and enjoy shopping. I had a NSV today. Took my glitzy ring in to have them remove the diamonds to put in the new ring and a pendant. They wanted to know if the size was right on my old ring and I said it spun around a lot. They sized my finger and it's a 4.5!!! Same size as when I got married 38 years ago!!!!! We've had snow showers on and off all day so I guess winter won't be too far off. I still have tons of leaves to rake in the front yard, but it's too windy and wet today. Got to have a day where we can rake AND burn. Terry... ditto on what Michelle said. Take care of you and the weight will come off when you can focus on it more. There are more important things for you to consider right now. Just make sure you get your protein in during the day. Going to go relax on the couch a bit before we have to go pick up the dogs. We're going out to dinner at some friend's house tonight. Hope it's something I can eat!! Patience, Trust and WWJD??!!
  17. Hi there, I have never posted on this thread but I definitely qualified for it as I was over the BMI of 50 when I was banded in April this year. I have had a great time reading the posts on this thread and am encouraged by so many of you. I wonder if I qualify more for the "slow losers unite" though. I am 7 months out from surgery and have lost 55 lbs. I have a long way to go and am hopeful for many nsv's and more lbs lost too. Some of my idols post on this thread (hi Insub and Losinjus!!!) and many more of you have become my idols since reading through these posts. I just wanted to say hello and how are ya, to introduce myself to this thread. I am married (not always happily) with 2 teenage boys and I work as a police dispatcher nights. I have struggled with my weight all my life and hate to hear I have a pretty face (so what!!! so does most of America!!). I am looking forward to the day that next to my weight it no longer says MORBID! How's that for a descriptor! Hi, I'm Morbid what's your name?? Thanks for the smiles today reading your posts, I look forward to many more! Ciao Bellas! kt

    TLBC Bandsters!

Those NSVs are really important, too. And they can really lift your spirits during the weight loss journey. Congratulations, ladies, on your weight loss.

    TLBC Bandsters!

Hey Doddie; I think you are looking at my overall number of 64 lost... Since banding I've lost 24 (JUl 11th)... I am getting more pleased with my progress as I weighed myself today and yest. and was down a tad each time. I wish I wasn't in the mindset that if the scale is down its a good day.... argh!! it is such a trap. So I took the advise of another bandster that I met at Tlbc and she said (she's lost 75lbs) take your measurements regularily and forget the scale. So I did this morning and I couldn't beleive my waist measurement!!! 38" it was at 45" at one point so I have made significant progress.. even my neck measurement has changed. I need to focus on the NSV's more than the weight. My mini goal for this wk is NO chocolate.... if I really need something sweet, I'll have 5 prunes instead = 94 cals and is good source of fibre (but not too much hee, hee) Have a great day

    NSV (Non Scale Victories)

I'm excited about having two NSV's on the same day. I put a ring on that I haven't worn in 20+ years and it fits comfortably. Then, for the second, and even more exciting NSV, I have a blouse on today that is an XL, that's right, not 3X, not 2X, not 1X, but XL and it's not even tight! I love my band!:nervous Sue

Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters

Good evening, Violets.... Just in from the hot tub. It's raining outside so I'm wet from head to toe, but it sure feels good. My knee and achy body are feeling back to normal. Just know we all will be waiting to hear how everything went and will be anxiously waiting for you to get back to us!! Pamela.. your Turkey joes sound delicious!! Suzie... congrats on the NSV!! Those are always just what we need to keep motivated! Michelle.. Hope you get a good night's sleep tonight. Everyone else have a restful evening and tomorrow is a new day!! Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters

TracyK-- That is so awesome. You must be so proud of yourself. Thanks for being an inspiration to me. I have a goal to reach for and that is to be as deligent as you. I have an NSV, Today we left Helena and stopped in Billings at the Harley Davidson store. Told hubby we could get him a t-shirt form there. I found a grey hooded sweat jacket and tried it on. Very snug but fit. It's a 3X. I haven't worn a 3X in about 20 years. My husband was more excited than I was. I had the lady cut the tags off and I wore it out of the store and all the way to our next hotel. Stopping in at Sturgis tomorrow, wonder what I will find there. This is so cool to be able to go into stores and wear stuff off the rack. I'll miss ordering from the catalog. Hubby's waiting for spring so he can get the Harley back out to ride. Driving to Sioux Falls tomorrow and will spend the night there and than the next day it should take us about 7 hours to get home. I'll be glad. I miss the comforts of home. But I have to admit that we are having an excellent time. Didn't know what to expect with traveling with my sister-in-law and her husband. We have just clicked and we've laughed and told stories an have really enjoy each other. Oh, forgot to mention that we had our first up closs snow for the year. Although I couldn't get hubby to stop so I could throw a snowball at him. It was really beautiful seeing everything cover. The trees were so pretty. Everyone have a great day, :clap2:

    Road to "TWOterville"

OK, 7 month check up today and down a few more lbs. Not a lot mind you but at least I am not gaining. I love listening to all of the daily struggles and NSV's and hope to have my own to share soon. As of now, I am still wearing the same clothes I did wear, they are loose but not falling off of me. I just want it faster than I am getting it, who doesn't right??? So.......lets just keep on keepin' on and wish the best for every single one of our fellow bandsters! I am established in twoterville and hoping to someday get to Onederland. Ciao Bellas!! KT
