    January Bandsters???

Hi everyone, I have not posted in awhile, I have had many things going on. I was suppose to have my first fill today however the dr nor his nurse could find my port. So I have toschedule for teh flouroscopy. He wanted me to schedule next week or 2 weeks, however I leave for vacation on 3/22 -4/1 so I will not be able to get until after I return. My Dr's comment to was you don't want this before vacation anyways. I had gone back and forth but the nurse convinced me to have it (it did not take much convincing). I guess a higher power had other plans. I did not loose nor have a gained. I was the same. I have been having some other medical issues since surgery that have been getting worse. I started with right after surgery the outside of my left thigh was/is numb. The Dr had order an EMG/NSV to check nerve responses. While I was waiting for this test, a couple of weeks ago I began not being able to feel when I go to the bathroom (sorry for being graphic). So the Dr order and MRI. it should that I have a central disc protrusion, the Dr. still wanted me to have the MRI to find out how bad the nerves are. The results of the EMG/NSV is that there is no muscle response in the left foot and that there is abnormalities in pertty much up through a portion of my back. The worse in the foot. Since I resently had a few surgeries on teh left foot I need to have another MRI of the left foot and ankle to make sure that a nerve was not servered during the surgeries. Also the protrusion in back is not what's causing the numbness in my leg. My primary care asked that I also see a neurologist for a 2nd opinion. So I have my MRI tomorrow morning, then next Wed I have my appointment with the Neurologist and then when I come back from vacation I will have to have my fill and I also have another appointment with a urogynecologist who preformed surgery 12/26, from which I have not been allowed to do any aerobic excercise, weights excetera. The only thing I can do it walk on the treadmill. In the last few days I have definitely had the attack of the emotional eating monster.:hungry: Sorry to spill this all out to guys just needed to vent a little today. On a positive note when I actually am able to get my fill he told me that he make sure that the band tightens so that I do not have to keep going back and will have go restriction with the first fill. He ususlly does 4 cc then 2 then 1 in the 10 cc band which is what I have. Keep up the great work everyone!

    January Bandsters???

I love the K20 water!! My favorite is the lemon but the strawberry kiwi and tropical punch are good too. Still looking for ideas on getting the gas out of my chest/rib cage area. I hope that's what it is......usually doesn't happen unless I'm walking or standing. Then there is a sharp pain, sometimes I burp and the pain goes away, other times the pain goes away a little bit later. Other than the gas pains and being a little weak I feel great. Any ideas would be appreciated!! Congratulations to everyone just banded, good luck to all being banded in the next day or two!!! Also congrats to the nsv's I've heard....can't wait to have one of my own!

Jana you should post your triumph ride on the NSV thread if you haven't already. I'm praying you will make your next goal for the OK ride, but you will get there regardless of the timing. Lisa depression is a toughy. I excused myself from exercise yesterday to do much needed chores. I had the depression aches last night. Exercise has always been helpful for my depression (tried every med--doesn't help), but in the last few months if I miss a day, I sure know it by evening. My increased energy level is definitely helping in this process.

Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters

lornajh, welcome to the Lucky 7's. You had a rough go of it, but we're glad to see you're doing well. Jackie, I'll be e-mailing you for the recipes very shortly. Thanks for sharing with us. Mango, why would they code that as cosmetic? It was just a dr. appointment, right. That was stupid on their part. I wouldn't pay either. Hope I did not offend on my post earlier. I was supposed to be self pay, and I never in a million years thought they would pay it, especially when it was excluded right there in black and white under my exclusion clause. I think it should be covered for everyone. I was just so darn excited, I wasn't thinking about the other self payers on here, so I do apologize. cazulay, that's a great NSV you've had. They'll just keep coming too!!! Sunny, how ya doing??? I see you'e ready for a fill. I'm ready for the next one. I've got 3 more weeks, but I've really been adding the protein in this week, added the powder into oatmeal this morning. It's seems to work well for me. I've only ate 3 times today, and it's 6:40pm.
  7. Jenn - good for you! TracyK - I loved the picture of you and your daughter. You look amazing. Congrat's on your NSV's as well! Michelle - what a wonderful Mom you are -- and you are beautiful in the pictures. Kat & TracyinKS - get well -get well - we want you t get well soon! (that is the song my DH sings to me) - wishing you a quick recovery.

    January Bandsters???

Girl, BRAG! We all should Brag, No matter how much we've lost, whether ist 5 lbs, or 50 lbs, or whatever, we need to be proud of what we have accomplished. We deserve to be proud! We've waited a long time for success. I too think the NSV are the very best. One of my NSV is I weigh less than my DH. I am so proud of that. He got on the scale last night and he was up to 188 lbs (he's 6'1") so he's not fat, and I've always hated the fact I weigh more than him. Well now, I'm almost 20 lbs lighter, 16 lbs to be exact. Its just so nice to know that I weigh less than him, makes me feel more like a woman. Another thing I am happy about, I tuck my shirts in now. Thats another NSV. I would have never dreamed of tucking my shirt in at 248 lbs, my belly hung over, I had to leave them untucked to hide my fat (or so I thought I was hiding it - who was I kidding, everyone knew I was fat!). Now I proudly am a tucker! Yes, I'm a shirt tucker I admit it!

    January Bandsters???

Glad to have you joining our group Tooslow! Has anyone's doctor said no lettuce? Met a lady tonight who has also had lapband (I think she'd lost like 150 pounds in 16 months or something like that!) anyway, her doc said no pop, which I'd heard. But she also said no salads because the lettuce could turn just right and block the opening! I don't think I've read anything like that on here. O.K....new NSV's....besides being able to fit in every ride at Worlds of Fun last week, and being called skinny (again!!) and having people do double takes and say things like, "almost didn't recognize you!!"....another huge NSV was the fact that I was at Target last week, bought a size 24 pair of short, after wearing it for about 30 minutes I had to get a belt.....I can pull them off without unbuttoning them! So today I went back to Target and bought a size 20....they fit! O.K. a little snug but after I wear them around the house I'm sure they'll be perfect!!! I love my band!!

    January Bandsters???

Not to brag...but...(ok, maybe a little bit proud!) Last night we went to see Kenny Chesney in concert. I can PROUDLY say I sat in the seat with ROOM TO SPARE! Walked the steps up and down to concession - never lost my breath once! :whoo: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I love my band! :kiss2: These NSV's are more important than what that scale says. hehehe :clap2:
  13. Tracy-sorry you feel crappy but congrats on the NSV...that is way cool! When I got that e-mail I LMAO cause I can relate. I just wanna smack people that say, "hot enough for ya". UH, yeah...

Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters

Phyl - I agree its time to go off on them. I am always too patient and put up with bad service too long and hold it in then if it gets bad enough I blow up. This has only happened 8 or 10 times in my life but it is not pretty when it does happen. I would let them have it. What about going to another doctor? My dw was having pizza as I was reading your post regarding pizza. I am soooo hungry. Laurend - I am going to try alternating my calorie intake weekly at least until my fill. I have no problem increasing it, I don't know about reducing it. Chim - Yes we are going to make it. On a positive note - NSV - I donated 3 large garbage bags of clothes to Goodwill las week. I hope I don't need them again before I get my fill. Indiogirl - Thanks for the info re: onederland. It will be a while for me, is there a twoderland ? What is motivating me to lose weight? Two Things: 1. Health. I have a serious back problem and could loose control of my bowls, bladder or leg(s) at any time. I was told that two years ago after an MRI. I was sent to a surgeon who said I was too fat to have back surgery and that if I lost use of my bladder, bowls or leg(s) to go directly to the emergency room. Also he said if I lost weight I could come back an he would operate. Nuts to him. I am going to loose weight and hopefully after losing half of my body mass my back issues will be manageable without back surgery. Thats my plan. 2. Not to sound corny, but I would like to be a better husband and father. My dw has said I have already stooped snoring! Its a start.

Hello Everyone -- I hope that you all had a great 4th of July! I know I did. I guess you can say that I had my first NSV. I was able to enjoy most of the "traditional" cuisine (BBQ) on this festive day of independence, in much smaller portions of course. I got on the scale this morning and didn't gain an ounce!! I don't think I can recall a holiday that I didn't gain weight. This was awesome for me :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: . I have noticed that my appetite is just now starting to pick up a bit. I'm not sure if it's because I'm excercising more or the swelling is down. I think probably both. I get my first fill next week. I think the timing is perfect! How is everyone else doing? Melissa Lea

    January Bandsters???

It's good to hear from everyone who is checking in! There are some fabulous results being posted. The males on this thread are really going to make some of us females jealous with the way the weight is just falling off... LOL As for me, I have my 2nd fill today. My surgeon does them himself, and he doesn't use xray/flouro. So far, mind you, it's only been one so far, we haven't had any problems. Anyway, I've got a NSV...a real one. LOL. I've been waiting for this moment. Anyway, I was going out this weekend and was running late because my jeans were in the dryer and refused to dry. So, there I was standing in my closet trying to find something to wear when I remembered my old pair of jeans which were still brand new three years ago when I grew out of them. So, I say what the heck, pull them off the hanger and right on. I didn't even have to lay on the bed to button or zip. I was shocked...more then shocked. I'll admit that I had tried them on about three weeks ago, and had said then that I'd be in them in about two or three weeks. But that was before my weight lose plateaued for about the same amount of time. And, I'm still sitting on that plateau, too... So...there's my NSV...moving from growing tight 28's to a comfortable 24. Not bad, hunh? There was some advice I'd read from an older bandster that said..."If you've got some clothes you've been saving for when you're smaller....better try them on today..." Never thought it would apply to me, being in the larger sizes we tend not to drop sizes that fast (yes, part of my problem was my clothes "grew" with me). Apparently, I was wrong.

LOL yes it is! Congrats on your NSV!!! Look at that cute little butt! hehe I got into an 18 yesterday...does that count? LOL I also went from a 3x top to a 1x - I bought a few new tops last night because I look like a bag lady in the rest of my clothes!

    OCTOBER 2014

Jello arms = 3/4 sleeves for me, but there are such few choices right now. However, when my arms are down they look great. Must practice a life devoid of wild waving, lol. NSV: Jumping into the car trunk to rescue a rogue can of chick peas, like that's what you do. Impossible before weight loss. I don't think my leg could have gone up that far. Life is good!

    I'm here to help...

Watched the KC Chiefs get slaughtered this afternoon. Oh well........ Light snow on the ground and much more coming - 4 to 8 inches overnight. Have consultation with trainer tomorrow to set up my plan. Knee is more comfortable when I do NOTHING. But, I can't let that stand in my way. Surgeon confirmed it is fine to work out. Chris - congrats on NSV. Arlene - I agree with Janet and Lori - one program that works for you. You are so dedicated. Nice to hear your mom realizes that it is time for assisted living Linda - sending hugs. Others have expressed how I feel too. You are a strong lady, and have faced challenges and shown love for Aylah, and will continue throughout her life - for your daughter, as well, but her demons are hers to chase away.

Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters

Imfine and Car, welcome to the Lucky 7's. Chim, been wondering where you were. Hope you'e doing good. Marcy, you have restriction!!! Way to go only eating 3 pieces. Sunny, where have your been. Dini, did you kidnap Sunny and take off. You didn't even stop and get me!! You've been MIA for a while now!! Nurse76, I think you dropped of the planet, where ae you??? Hope you've been well and doing good in school. Stop in and see us!! dmtjet, have your room ready yet, the kiddies are coming soon!! Cazulay, do you like Curves? I did it for a year, but am no longer a member. I liked it, but then I went and spent $200 on a home gym that I don't use, go figure. But I plan to get on it soon. ssankofa, love the attitude. Let it go and start fresh this week. I went to the physchologist today. She said I was doing great. Had to weigh in again. I lost another lb from their last record, but was 2 lbs heavier than my scale. I'm figuring with my jeans on instead of light shorts and being in the aftenoon makes a diference. I'm beginning to not like the scale, as you weigh different at different times, at different places. Too hard to keep track of. I've decided to let my scale go, to the basement. Out of sight, out of mind. I'll continue to get weighed at the office and that's it. I'm not changing my ticker, it's just going to have to wait for me to get there with the doc's scale numbers. I've decided it's going to be a long road, and with every journey we take we will have ups, and downs. I know it will come off if I follow the rules and guidelines. I need to start paying more attention to the NSV's that are sure to come, than what the numbers say on the scale. After all, isn't that what we are all lokking forward to the most. Remember all those things that we listed that we were looking forward to accomplishing with the loss. Not one of us mentioned a number. When I think about losing the weight, I imagine myself healthy at the end, not thin, and a scale can't measure my health. It's just a number.
  24. Good Morning Violets~ Tracy~ to say the ring is beautiful is an understatement. It is spectacular and represents all the good things you have coming to you! You will georgous wearing that ring! How was your 5:2 day today?

Hi everyone, I had gone through all the posts and clicked on multiquotes and when I went to ad them here, it didn't work and now the multiquotes I selected are all gone.... No problem, I will wing it... I love seeing everyone with a Host below their name, I was offered it and am thinking about it..... Coops it is so frustrating when we have friends or coworkers making comments that are insensitive to our weight loss. A friend of mine would always make a comment in how intuitively her body needs carbs and that her eating habits are what keep her slim. She has totally been gaining weight on her diet plan and is in denial about her weight fluctuating up and down.....Now I think she's totally avoiding me......which hurts too...... GT you have really had a lot of cr** come your way when it comes to your daily stressors, health, and not being able to lose weight. I wonder if eating less than 800 calories is really going to help, especially when it comes to eating healthy for optimal health benefits to keep the MS progression down.....I know your doing Dr Wahl's diet plan and it's really worked for her which s really hopeful. Gosh she went from being debilitated to regaining a lot of her functioning and appears to be doing really well. You are a very determined person and can also accomplish this........I love people with a lot of determination! They impress me so much... OD remember these guys your meeting on-line are perspective partners but the guy that is non-communicative needs to be kicked to the curb.......who needs someone like that! You deserve someone that is going to honor you and treat you like your the best thing that's ever happened to him....you are awesome! It will take quite a few dates before hitting the right one....but he's out there looking for you! M2G thank you for the feedback on my DD and DH and living situation. My DH tries to bring across a boundary and has attempted to talk with my DD but he even saids there's no talking to her. She's very stubborn and has to learn lessons the hard way. As for me, I'm just letting her spin her wheels (cognitively) and come to her senses and then her and I will talk. I will have to talk with my DH about just letting her stay with a contract that she will move out in January. It worries me because she will be moving 14 hours drive away from home and will not have anyone around her to help her except for her BF or Husband and his Mother......She is in a period of her life where she thinks she knows everything but really knows little about what it's like to have to support yourself and survive. This is life and it will be good for them. and for us....hard to launch our children. LOL LV I agree with talking with my DD and her finance (BF) about a contract with my DH. things have calmed down a bit but it has put a damper on our Xmas if I let it. Things will be really different this Xmas. And it's a good thing. So now if I can only get my grazing under control. I went to the store yesterday a few times and each time those stupid Reese's Peanut Butter Cups was calling my name, louder and louder! But I resisted and went home and made some turkey chili that was delicious..... Did a it of walking while pushing my friend in a wheel chair bc I get impatient with the speed that she goes at.....so it totally benefitted my exercise for the day.....at one time her terrier got out the door and I quickly pushed her over and ran after the terrier before he got out of the door and would have been down the street in a flash....This is really the fastest I have moved in a long time. I hate running and was shocked I could move so fast....It helps to have that 80 lbs gone..... Total NSV for me..... To all who are fasting today, I know you can do it, it is well worth it......
