    w00t - nsv alert lol

Boy that must feel GREAT! I tell myself I still fit into a plane seat but truth be told last time I flew in May I was very glad it was Eliza on one side of me, Ewan on the other - Fraser and Doug were across the aisle. I had the armrests up on both sides and I needed it! I can fit but its embarrassing seeing the overhang. Sad thing is at 5ft 10 I recall being wedged into economy seats anyway even way back at 75kg or so, my legs are too long and I have to kind of sit sideways to fit them in.

    Exercise is fun!....?......

I obviously copied and pasted this. Just some ideas for us. When workouts or other activities are fun, you're more likely to stick with them, many studies show. To spark your creative imagination, here are a bunch of ways to get fit by acting like a kid, as well as resources to help you get started. 1. Play Twister. Flexibility and fun, all rolled into one retro game. 2. Twirl a Hula-Hoop. A great ab toner and heart-rate raiser (hula-hoops.com). 3. Play kickball. Join an existing adult league or start your own (worldkickball.com). 4. Skip to the beat. Substitute skipping for your usual jog or mix it into your walk/jog workout (iskip.com). 5. Get a dance qroove. Try "Techno Pop," "Urban Funk" or "Street Style" videos C$30-$40; active videos.com). 6. Jump a rope. A 145-pound woman can burn 570 calories per hour. Learn double Dutch style and start a team (800-225-8820, Angeles as well as other gyms. ----anyone live in New york? I am Louisiana myself. 10. Reach for the sky. It used to be called trampolining; now it's called urban rebounding (urbanrebounding .com). 11. Go-go golfing. Make the game less geriatric by playing Frisbee Golf (aka disc golf) or Xtreme Golf (disc golfassoc .com, 831-722-6037; extreme golf.com). 12. Lead a cheer. Rah, Rah, Sis Boom Bah just like a teenager at a cheerleading "camp" class (cheerleading .net). 13. Play HORSE. Take free throws, going around the arc in front of a basketball hoop. Every time you miss, you get a letter. The closer you come to spelling HORSE, the more you n eed to practice your shot. 14. Make Cookies from scratch. Instead of the Cuisinart, use a wooden spoon - it takes major arm strength. 15. Play Marco Polo. Get moving in the deep end instead of standing in the shallows like a won't-get-my-hair-wet girl.

    Anyone 16+?

Yeah. =.] Thats a good idea, thanks. =.] If I get used to it, maybe it can start comeing naturally. =.] lol. Wow that kinda sucks, I rather not miss any time either. Do you get them homework sent to you, or can you pickit up. Thats what my school does. At least you have a good excuse, its not like your purposly skipping or something. Oh that sucks, I used to like live in the stuff lol. & ehh.. Id rather take a tiny pill, then a shot xD Yeah they are. I was reading about how someone lost a ton of weight went to a high school reunion, and the people who used to pick on her were bigger than her, and how she was so happy and they were all trying to come up with something mean to say, but couldn't. xD I don't either, but sometimes if thats all you can find, or afford, then you really can't do anything about it. Lucky, I kinda wish I did. I have to drive 8-10 miles to find someone my age. lol

    scared of failure...

Thank you Julianna! I know I am just being paranoid but I've tried everything to lose this weight and it always starts out great, losing weight but then for one reason or another I fail and gain all the weight back plus 10.. but I told myself the sleeve was my final option and I will not fail! We will not fail!!!

    I had a dream

I just watched your first video. Something weird happened. Let me start from the top. Today I woke up with a call from my mom and she was crying....she can no longer see. Like nothing, zip, zero. Mom has stage 4 bone cancer and has been on a million meds since march of 2012. Supposedly one of those meds caused an adverse reaction on her vision. Since May of 2012....it's been getting worst and today...she can no longer see. Watching your video....your dad not being able to see, and my mom not being able to see. It's like the universe let us here lol I hope your dad is ok, you said he's getting it fixed. My mom's case is soooo severe, surgery is the goal but her condition has to be stable for 2 more months. Her eye pressure was hovering around 45-50 for months, seems to be holding steady at a normal 19-25 now so hopefully she can have surgery. I can't wait to watch the rest of your vids.

  7. Helps to actually type the response before I post it! My Drs say lift what you can, 10 mins a day if you are starting. Never go more than 48 hours without resistance. For example, if you can do resistance in your arms with no back pain that will boost metabolism. It doesn't need to be full body to be beneficial to metabolism. I totally know what you mean about the same weight but not as lean. It's that fat-thin that we feel in our jeans. I hope you're having surgery soon and it's not super major! I had my rotator cuff repaired and that was a brutal recovery because I was so limited. It was a mental game for sure. Maybe once you're on the other side of survey you can get the REE and body comp. My insurance covers it through the endocrinologist....

    Southern Cali Kaiser Permanente

Hi there! I’m also going through Kaiser and have a very similar story. I did my referral process last year, and finished my 10 weeks of options classes in January. Everything was closed because of covid though so I was just in limbo. I finally got my referral approvals in the mail today and was told that I should be contacted by the surgeons office any day now. I’m in riverside county, so I’ll be going with Dr. Suh. Looking forward to updating soon with how things are going!!
  9. I just realized I was supposed to post this in pre-surgery weight loss. Is there a way for me to move the post? Sorry for the mistake? Hello everyone, I need to lose 50 pounds before I go for my sleeve surgery so I am at a better BMI to make it safer. They set me up with a nutritionist for medical weight loss. Pretty much, I am to have 3 protein shakes a day and 2 small snacks in between like low fat cheese, and egg, low fat yogurt, etc... I have been sticking to this diet completely with no cheats. The first week I did great and lost 10 pounds. I am toward the end of my second week and the scale is showing I am only down point 8... I don't see how this is even possible. I have failed on so many diets on the past. I failed using phentermine and so many weight loss drugs. I am so worried that there is something about me that just can't lose weight. Ugh I am so disappointed and worried. Has anyone experienced this or have advice for me?

    Anyone out there over 60?

We're here with you! I'm 55, and at 11 weeks postop I weigh less than I have in 10 years. I feel great! This is the best thing I've ever done for myself.
  11. Often these issues are related to vitamin malabsorption after RNY. My father is 10 years out on his bypass and still suffers these low blood pressure episodes caused by a mix of changing Vitamin D & Iron Deficiencies. I don't know what your labs tested for or whether they were fasting tests or not, but that's usually the place to start (assuming you can rule out dehydration, which would be the most common cause). All that said see what the cardiologist says and don't try to self salt-medicate.
  12. In order to stop something, you have to start something. This beautiful brave soul's name is Kaycha Baez from Florida, and her story speaks for itself. Kaycha's Weight Loss Journey has now turned into a Journey of Justice and wants to take action to help make a difference in taking the first steps in perhaps paving the way for others. Kaycha needs to go to Mexico and file a complaint in person against Almanza and Weight Loss Agents. According to the existing laws in Mexico, a victim must file in person with the appropriate authorities to open an official Mexican Government investigation against Almanza and Weight Loss Agents. As of today, there are no formal complaints against Almanza/Weight Loss Agents and that is why he continues to operate with impunity. The Mexican authorities are aware of the problems posted on online, but without a formal complaint, it's all hearsay. Let's all work together to help these victims get the justice they deserve. In Mexico, the authorities are looking for both civil and criminal charges against Almanza and Weight Loss Agents but without proof and a formal complaint, they can do nothing. Anything to help Kaycha get to Tijuana, Mexico would help, $5, $10, $20, etc.., so Kaycha can be the first victim to file a formal complaint against Almanza and Weight Loss Agents in Mexico to help save others from potentially suffering from what Kaycha is going through, or what other families are going through, or worse, like death of a loved one. For the victims with leaks, nicked intestines, nicked spleen, cut liver, infections, or medical problems caused by this butcher named Almanza and Weight Loss Agents, please contact me and let's organize to file formal complaints, to put this butcher in jail, and stop the this human slaughter. Please click on the link below, read Kaycha's story, and help if you can. This is the fundraising campaign for Journey to Justice: http://gofund.me/KaychaBaezDiaz There are many good surgeons in Mexico, but Almanza is not one of them. http://www.10news.com/…/team-10-investigates-agency-respons…
  13. Hi all. So I've spoken with 3 people I know that have had gastric bypass and they said that they did not exercise at all and still lost weight. One of them lost 80 pounds in 10 months. Why do sleevers have to exercise to lose? What is the difference between the two? Not making excuses, just want to know why?
  14. Hello Everyone.. it's been since 10/19 since the banding. I am in the mushy or soft phase right now. I tried egg salad the first day and experienced terrible cramping that lasted for two days under my left breast and into my back. The waves of cramping literally (when they would happen ) would stop me in my tracks.. and make me bend over and have to hold my stomach Is that what they mean by not chewing or tolerating a certain food??..I have had mashed potato with gravy ok , applesauce- which gave me pain right away and tuna which I had pain with but short lived . I wanted to know what can/ should I eat right now besides cream soup???? I am supposed to be on mushies getting used to more normal foods. Do you think I am not ready for those foods or not chewing it enough??? I have to say the hunger is getting to me --not everyday but some days it really bothers me. Will I really feel better once I get a fill? Will this hunger subside? I am being a trouper and staying the course. I have lost 18 pounds (5 before I left for banding while on liquids. ) I bought the protein powder to add to foods last night and I bought the isopure protein drink to force down. It is a bit mucky but better than the others. I have been taking 2 flinstones everyday and 2-3 viactive calcium chews. I have added biotin, b12 , b-6 and vit-E. Do I sound like I am doing ok at the point I am at?? I have my first fill scheduled for exaxctly 6 weeks on Nov 30 with Dr. Fielding at NYU. Thanks for listening I know I asked a lot of questions.....
  15. Ok guys, I need some advice. Am I the only person on this earth who had a lapband and hasn't lost weight. I got banded July 3rd. After my surgery I lost weight maybe 3 lbs. quickly went into bandster hell where I gained 2 lbs. I had my first fill where I dropped an additional 8 lbs. at that point I was down 20 from where I started. Found out I was pregnant and gained 5 lbs! A second fill and miscarriage later my weight has not moved. My second fill did nothing for me after the second day. I am within the same 10 lbs I was on surgery day. What the heck is going on??? Some days I have absolutely no restriction???
  16. I'm 52 and was sleeved on 2/19/13. I am now down 116lbs and happy for the sleeve. I've had two neurosurgeries in the last 14 months which limited my activity and still lost weight. My neighbor who had Lapband three years ago and lost 100lbs but regained 110 lbs due to complications. He underwent a revision to the sleeve after seeing my success with the sleeve. Good luck whatever you decide. This has been one of my best decisions ever, as I am now the lightest I've been in 36 years.
  17. I had the Band on January 30th, 2006. I am having a big problem. Whenever I eat, no matter how much I chew my food, the first few bites seem to go down just fine, then about 2 minutes later, I feel an intense pain in my esophagus/stomach. It feels like someone is choking me, but in my stomach. I've talked to my doctor who said he's seen this only once or twice before and stated that he really isn't sure why it happens. He suggested that I take a few sips of warm Water first before each meal. The problem is, I don't always have access to warm water when I eat. I haven't been given a fill yet, and to date I've lost 41 pounds. My issue seems to be that it happens most when I eat denser foods. If I eat a salad with dressing the problem doesn't exist, but when I eat chicken, fish, breads etc, this pain comes on strong. I'm then unable to drink water or even swallow saliva. The pain is very strong and lasts for about 10 minutes. I'm unable to remedy the situation after it starts, and eventually, the food drops into my stomach and I feel fine again, but my appetite is completely gone. PLEASE HELP!!! I had an episode tonight at dinner, eating a small piece of chicken, and I was getting frantic cause I couldn't figure out how to make the pain go away.

    Vitamins

I've always taken Centrum (or the generic equivalent from CVS or Walgreens). I started with the chewables and after a few months moved to the regular tablets. I guess you could check with your clinic to see if it's OK for you to move to tablets. I think I was about six months out before I did, but then again, at 10 weeks out I was taking other supplements in tablet form, so maybe ...??

How much in your first year?

Surgery 2/20/09. As of today, down 79 pounds. I've just come through several weeks where I was lucky if I lost a pound a week, but now this week, I've lost almost 5 pounds. Go figure! But 79 pounds is just over 7 months makes me deliriously happy since that averages out to around 10 pounds a month. Yeah, I was pretty unhappy when the scale seemed like it just wasn't moving but when that does happen, you have to remind yourself that IT'S NOT GOING UP....something we're all familiar with.

    Lapband Complications Summary

Just had mine and as I noted I had the exit so swollen from irritation that I couldnt get anything don and had to be readmitted. I am now on clear liquids for 10 days and hating life! I knew this could happen but people rarely talk about it here and believe me I was scared. I really have begun to doubt what I have done as I am so weak. Good side- I have lost 28lbs, bad part - in ten days! I feel like a holocaust victim! Yes I am a drama queen but you arent going through this. Oh and the vomitting business post op hurts like hell. I was so scared my band was going to slip!
  24. I have only had my band 10 days. I have a 10cc Band which was filled 2cc the day of surgery. The first 4 days, while I was still swollen, were sweet because I had NO hunger. Now I am getting pretty hungry, but I am still on the liquids. Saw my Dr. today for the first time since surgery. He says 1 more week of liquids and come back and see him in three weeks. I see him again 7/30........sure hope I am getting another fill then!!

    Banded April 23 2008

I was also banded on 04/23/08. I have lost only 10 lbs. It seems like I am loosing at a slower pace. I had a very uncomplicated experience when I was banded in Tj, Mexico. I am eating soft foods now and so far have not eating anything that doesn't agree with me. I get hungry but when I eat, I get full really fast. Has anyone scheduled their first fill yet? Has anyone started with any exercising? Resi 230/219c/137 [/img]
