    Exciting NSV

This is a fun one. I rushed home from work today and had some errands to run and quickly changed out of my suit into some brown cords. While I am running my errands I was like wow... these are so baggy on me and also seem like they are bootcut? Well, it turns out that I had some plus sized brown cords that were elastic waist and too tight last winter (I thought I was putting these on) and I had some bootcut gap regular sized non-elastic waisted cords which were also brown but I had forgotten about.. when I got home I realized that I had put the much, much smaller ones on and they were baggy on me!

Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters

Good evening, Violets... I wrote a whole novel this morning and it got lost. I was so ticked, I just walked away. grrrrrrrrrrrrr I'm not going to attempt to reconstruct it. We'll just start fresh. Laura!!!!! Look at you!!!! Wow.. I wish my belly was disappearing like yours is. You're not going to need a TT at the rate you're going!!! Awesome!!!!! Suzie... HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!! Definitely indulge on your special day. As the Bobster says... if you're going to sin, sin boldly.. lol Well, I went to the dentist this morning and had two fillings. I didn't feel good when I got up. Had a sore throat and ear ache. After the dentist, I came home and did nothing the rest of the day except for getting our Christmas card pics taken and printed out. I blew off our retired teacher's Christmas party, bell choir and New Day singers. Hopefully I'll feel like doing stuff tomorrow since I have a ton of things demanding my attendance. arghhhhhhh I got a khaki long skirt from Eddie Bauer today in the mail. I ordered a 16 thinking I could wear it later, but it fits now!! Even with a zipper and snap closing! For me that is a big NSV! Time to get supper on the table. I have a whole roasting chicken in a bag in the oven. It smells wonderful. Gonna fix some carrots and broccoli and call it a meal. Everyone have a good evening.. TTFN...

Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters

Well, Tracy, you must be right about the GV jeans because i just went to Dillards to find some dress pants to wear to my parties this year. I took 5 pair in the dressing room....all size 16's (which used to be reliable)....but they were ALL too big! So I ended up with size 14 (Jones NY) that fit perfectly. However, i am wearing my Spanx today so that had a lot to do with it, I'm sure....and as a general rule I don't buy tight jeans....just comfy. The GV jeans have just the right amount of stretch in them. SO! I had a NSV today!!....and I haven't had one of those in a helluva long time!

N E 1 been Banded at Mt. Carmel col, oh

:clap2::clap2:OMG Debbie you look wonderful!!! You and Lady are doing great! I know you have to feel like a million bucks. WTG with the NSV, it the greatest feeling when people notice all your hard work. Special K, girl you are moving right along in your journey. I feel like it is taking FOREVER.... its been 9 months so far! But there is an end in sight. Keep a jumpin'!! Lady, Heath is east of Columbus right between Newark and Buckeye Lake. Kind of like Reynoldsburg is between Pickerington and White hall, only closer. I can be at 256 in about 15 minutes (without lots of traffic) DH and I go to church in Reynoldsburg and it takes about 20 minutes to get there. BTW 50 lbs is amazing!!! :whoo: You guys really do inspire me and help me keep faith that this is gonna happen for me too. Sue, I feel you pain with the doctors. My psych eval was 500.00 and insurance didn't pay one red cent!!!! You would think after all the $ we pay into our insurance company that when we need something they would cover it. So when will you hear if you are approved or not??? I would think with sleep apnea that it would be a sure thing for getting approved. Hang in there my friend, we will get through this. Hey Dorothy! How are you doing? I hope you all have a blessed day!

STEPH - No, I think I put an end to his Polish "lover boy" ways - that and he is back in Poland now. So, hopefully he is with his wife... where he should be! the sexy freak! My Marine called me again this weekend a few times. I hadn't heard from him since before Thanksgiving. His phone apparently had some issues and he had to replace it. I told him all about the idiot Polish man. He said he otta kick that guys ass... ha. I have a feeling that my Marine is gonna end up being just a really awesome friend. He and his brother both are just wonderful, good-natured people to have around watching out for ya. I love them to death. My marine just has too much going on and is too far away to think about anything else. We both have lives to live. ya know? I am ok with that though. He is a great guy. So, glad I've made the new friend. Um, I have another new male friend I've recently made too. I won't go into too many details yet, but he is a graduated from college with honors in English, just like me -- is a writer just like me, same music tastes, same sense of humor, even grew up on a tobacco farm like me. We have a ton in common, but I just met him. So, I will report back in a few weeks to let you know how the new friendship is progressing You can never have too many new, interesting (intellectual) friends. Finally someone to discuss Literary Criticism! :clap2: yeah! (yeah... me = nerd) I saw my lowest number on the scale so far 175! That puts me down a total of 92 lbs. Ive been super strict with my diet again, and the results are finally starting to show. I just have to get my discipline back that I had this time LAST year! I think I will recreate the liquid/medifast diet from now til my December 22nd Bandiversary! Take THAT belly fat! SweetHot - love your NSVs!! hehe, your so funny and so happy you are sticking to the running! you go girl! VABAND - HELL YES! Congrats on the job girl, THAT is the Christmas present you've been looking for! nikki - hope the new computer comes real soon! bkwalling - way to go on the seminar! I would LOVE to go do that. i think I am going to a support group meeting this Saturday booboo - how are those finals coming??

    I cried at 22

And it keeps going. The other day I put on a (gulp) skirt size 12. Yes. I said Size 12. WHAT!?!?!?!? And it fit. I didn't buy it cuz I didn't like it, but it fit perfectly. Damn....size 12. Is this me? I ran out of the store and told my bf who hugged me tight. He's great support. I agree with Jack, when you are in the "transition" period, you may not want to buy a ton of clothes. I gave away a lot of stuff with tags still on since I was losing so fast. Yay!!!!! NSV happiness!!

    I cried at 22

That is such a fabulous NSV. I started at a size 24 close to 26 and now I'm in a size 18. I haven't cried YET. Maybe when I hit 16 I will! Keep up the good work. The pounds will melt off. Good luck!

Congrats! What a great NSV! I remember after my best friend had Gastric Bypass surgery when she was down quite a bit of weight and we were out to get her some new clothes (she had some "hand-me-down's" from a cousin who had gastric a while before her that she was using in the interim) and this was one of our first shopping trips. As we were in the various stores she'd find something she liked and grab a size then I would take it away from her and replace it with the same thing but at least 2 sizes smaller. She was ADAMENT that they would NOT fit. And along the way to the change room I would pick up the occasional thing and she would tell me "it's not gonna fit!" - I would tell her - "shut up and try the damn clothes on".... Low and behold they fit and of course they looked great. She couldn't believe it. It took her a couple of years to be able to look at an item of clothing and know it would fit without thinking it was too small, she still occasionally has the odd moment where she relapses back. Grats to you, I can't wait until I have my first NSV like that

good morning ladies! VA - yipee for the job!!! I'm so happy for you, best of luck and when do you start? Sweet - way to go with the nsvs! I've noticed simular things too. I totally love crossing my legs and sit with them crossed all the time. More then anything I feel like I'm normal now -size wise - we all know I'll never really be normal - hehe - before I felt sloppy and that no matter what I did I looked sloppy - now I can be sloppy - sweats and a tshirt - and feel like I look ok. I'm still holding steady at 168-169 but my clothes are feeling looser on me. My pants I wore yesterday had been feeling alittle snug in the butt and yesterday they were nice and comfy. I can't seem to find my notebook that has all my measurements in it - hmmmm. Bk - good to hear from you girlfriend! How's the new house? I hope you pop in more now. Nikki - sorry to hear of the busted computor! The same thing happened to my dd - she didn't remember doing anything to break it and it ended up costing hundreds to get it fixed. I'd just get a new one - thankgoodness for Santa Claus! Whats everyone wanting for Christmas this year? I have told everyone - mainly dh - that I want gift cards for clothes. But I'd also like a stained glass window. I saw one at an older ladies house and she had it hung in front of another window - do you know what I mean? Anyway it was so pretty. But clothes are good!
  13. Wow, Rain - that's crazy! How scary. I'm really glad you are okay and that your husband was there to help. I'd say that's an exciting NSV about the hospital food!

VABandster--CONGRATULATIONS!!! I'm so excited for you! :wow2: sweethot--Great NSVs! A couple of them made me chuckle--it's so true! BooBooKitty--Good luck on your finals! I feel your pain! The good news is that once you're done it's holiday time!!! Oh yeah--about your age...the good news is that you'll still be closer to 30 than 35. I'm going to be 42 this year, but I'm still happy because I'm closer to 40 than 45! LOL!
  16. Bula Venaca Violets (Fijian)~ Jennifer~ 2008 is gonna be your year honey! I think your a kind and giving person and 08 will rock for you. Remember...we just gotta get through the holidays, then 08 we are all back to our spring selves!!! I know the holidays are tough for so many reasons..focus on your many blessings...we all should! TracyKS~ your post is the real Christmas! Have a wonderful season. And the fudge...omg...I remember mom and grandma making fudge. I always was involved w/ the "testing" stage of the fudge production. Congrats on your NSV! Terry~ Your gift sounds wonderful! There is a very lucky violet who will look stunning in your gift! I have my gift for my SS. I am so excited and hope she likes it! I will get it into the mail this week! I am so excited for the holidays this year! Last night we went to the Festival of Lights parade w/ some friends of ours. Then we came home here and had 2 bottles of wine and played electronic Monopoly! We had a blast and stayed up til 1am! That never happens. But the holiday season is so fun and filled w/ family and friends...and wine!!! I should clarify something. We are planning a trip to Europe this summer, but we have not settled on anything yet. I am pretty sure we are going, but I've left the majority of the planning up to Susanne because she is from Germany and knows how best to travel. Since I planned our last vaca...this one is up to her. I am kinda in trouble too. She is retiring on May 16! But I think she will be in Phoenix w/ her mom...so I am in the clear for our trip! But the look on her face when I told her broke my heart. Then she remembered she will be gone. I am just praying she doesn't have her retirement ceremony that weekend. That won't even be a decision...I will be w/ her (keep your fingers crossed that the ceremony is in April). Ok...sorry for the long post! Enjoy your Sunday! xoxoxoxoxoxooxoxox

Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters

morning gals still in the dumps so kind of quiet Terry - love the top Tracyks - great NSV Gina - you opened your ss? I was going to put mine under my tree for xmas I don't get presents to open Tracyk- As of right now I have to long weekends planned, one in march for my Bday w/ the kids to an indoor waterpark at our SixFlags and May. As for my dbf... no gift giving between us, we use to but no more, not in the budget I had so much more i wanted to say yesterday but i got home late. work is trying right now, it is so busy. I was going to be sent home early last night and then the delevery guy pd me $10 to take the rest of his night, so with my tips and what he gave me, I made$30, not much but I'm going to get my mp3 player with it so I can start walking again. I am a lazy slug and have gained 10lbs, i feel like a failure and a pc of shit. Tomorrow morning I'm getting up, doing shakes and going to the gym. who cares if I don't walk as fast as everyone else, I just need to walk for 30 mins to get back into the swing of things, I felt so much better doing it. My work week and schedule has been out of control for the last 3 weeks, and Tomorrow starts a new week, and it is a normal week, Monday & Tues off, So what better time to start than a new week? Right? I am having a scrapbooking party Tuesday night which should be interesting. I need to practice self control. As for holiday parties, i don't get to go to one this year, my step mom will have a bowling party or something silly in January, so maybe I'll beable to justify a new pr of jeans for that. well, I'm off to finish getting ready for church.

just a few little NSV's that I have been noticing for a while now and I thought I'd share. 1. not taking up an entire seat in the car! I used to notice skinny people still had room on the seat, my giant legs overlapped the seat. now I have seat left to see! 2. When i get out of the car, my thighs don't scrape the steering wheel, been that way for a while, but i just noticed that I no longer tilt the wheel up to get out. 3. I don't get stuck in my patio chairs anymore, there is room. 4. at the movies, my arms don't automatically go for the armrest because i'm so wide, i can comfortable put my arms at my sides. 5. I can wear my cute 3 inch stilettos for more than 5 minutes without my ankles swelling over them. 6. I can see my feet. 7. I can sleep on my side or back without it aching ..just to name a few.
  20. Terri-I forgot to tell you that I love your Christmas party blouse. Very elegant looking! Tracy-woohoo, lets hear it for the willpower!! That is awesome! That is a cool NSV....feels great, right? Pamela-thanks for the link for the castle. That is gonna be such a fun fun fun reunion!! The trip that you have planned for the summer makes me envious! Cindy-sounds like you had such a wonderful day yesterday!! Kat-how did the party go? Judy-how was the concert? Now to the topic...what does my dh get for christmas? that is an easy one...nothing! He just bought a new truck and that is that! Makes it easier on me. I bought him a pressure washer for this b-day. You would havethought I gave him a million dollars. My trips for the coming year are still up in the air...except for the most important one...our violets trip in May. I am SO excited about that! I can not wait to meet you all  We did not win squat at the casino yesterday. Normally I at least have a good time, win or lose, but this time it was disappointing all the way around! I looked cute though...lol I bought some shirts that fit. For the first time in my life I was able to go in and rack up on clothes!! That was fun! This next weekend is my dh company christmas party but we can not go because we are having dss & dsd over that weekend. Its OK though because I love when they are here....and so does Macy! Speaking of dd, she is coming home today from her weekend with mawmaw & pop. I need to bring her to see santa....ugh I would rather be beat than to stand in that line at the mall. But it is worth it to see the smile on her face! Have a great day violets!

GEEEEEEEEEshhh I forgot to tell you all about my huge NSV this morning.......... OK.. so we get up and go over to my sisters... I am wearing a pair of my size 12 levis and my good VS pushup bra and a t-shirt......... DH said.. dang you look perky today... LOL....... so we get to my sisters and I feel like I look good....... my BIL comes in from the garage and he says hey sis...... then he stops, looks again and says....... DAM!!!!!!! YOUR THIN!!!!! as he continues to look at me up and down with his jaw open... my sis, my mom and dh all laughed that he just now noticed the change......... I guess my face turned really red as I blushed and dh made SURE to point it out that I was blushing... IT FELT SO GOOD to look good!

    December Exercise Challenge

But did you at least squat doing it?? LOL I posted my complete lack of exercise today as an NSV.....because unlike the past, I REALLY wanted to exercise, I just didn't have time for it! I've revised my challenge goals for December -- watch my siggie and kick my butt if you see me slacking, 'kay?
  23. NanaRenan

    NSV (Non Scale Victories)

Here's a good NSV -- for ME anyhow! I'm not exercising today. BUT -- it's because I'm TOO BUSY and not because I DON'T WANT TO!!! I'm actually MISSING the gym on days I can't go! How wild is THAT!
  24. METALBAND

    Thank you Band!!!

I agree with you....I had listed on an NSV thread somewhere that my house is so much cleaner. No more dust bunnies or being able to write things in the dust. I have cleaned out closets and made more space for things. I love my band too (except for the dreaded vomit episodes but hey at least the toilet is clean). It is like a dream world. I cannot believe that the old is back!
