O yeah, some NSV, my pants were 24-26, I am now wearing some of my 22's. My shirts were 3X's and tight, I am able to wear some of my 2X's with comfort. And all of my 3X's are lose. I used to put a pillow under my shirts for a minute or two to stretch them out so they would not be so form fitting. Haven't had to do that in a while now. My face looks really thin compared to the balloon face I had a year ago. Last year at this time I weighed 308, I am 263 now. So things are moving...

You're right! It stands for "non-scale victory." I'm hoping for some NSVs today as I need to go through my clothes and pack up summer clothes and unpack winter clothes. I've kept all sizes down to size 10 when I lost weight four years ago. I'm nowhere near a 10 but I'm hoping maybe a few things will fit that I haven't been able to wear for awhile. I've already been wearing some things that technically fit before but didn't look good. I'm not as lumpy as I was before the surgery so I can wear them now.

I wanted to ask what NSV stand for if you do not mind....LOL I am imagining it is noticeible wieght changes. I have gone down two pant sizes and am wearing shirts I have not had on in a very long time. Woo Hoo so exciting. I actually have size 16 clothes in my closet because I had gotten down that small before this last huge wieght gain I did over 2 1/2 years. I am excited about wearing them again.......and even surpassing that size in a year. COngratulations to us all for our huge achievements already!!

Morning, Violets.. I got home at 9 last night and went right to bed. Slept pretty good til 1 and then was up with a coughing spell. I ran out of cough medicine.. the only one that works for me is a script one so I'll have to ask my doc at choir rehearsal today for a refill script. Rehearsal is from 9:30 - noon with a potluck afterwards. Then I'm coming home and crashing for the day. Got to shake this dang cold somehow. Zicam, do yer stuff!!! Saw someone the other night at rehearsal that came up to me and told me I was getting skinny. Those NSV's are the best! Got to go curl my hair and get on the road to rehearsal. Organist and I are decorating the tables and getting the punch so I need to be at chruch early to help her. Everyone have a great day! Pamela.... I think the fact that we're having NSV's and being barely a month out of surgery is a NSV in itself! I mean, how many diets have you guys been on where you didn't see any dramatic improvement - or it took so durn long to lose anything, you couldn't remember what you looked like to begin with? We all kick butt!

So, I went to get my second fill today, as I've been feelnig rather hungry. When I saw the barium go through the band pre-adjustment, I was shocked and the doctor said "wow, you are wide open." I asked him why, since I saw last time it was pretty restrictive. He just smiled and said, "Because you are losing weight and there is less fat pushing around the band. The fat pushing around the band also helps restriction, but once you lose fat the band can and will get looser "on it's own." He asked me how restricted I wanted to be and I told him to go for the gusto. He told me I'm "liquid tight" right now, and I'd better chew good in two weeks, when I go back to solids. Very cool. Three NSV's 1. Wearing jeans I haven't worn in 2.5 years 2. Losing enough weight to affect the band 3. Having the radiology tech say, "Hey, you are looking good, you're getting to be a skinny man!!!" If he wasn't a dude, I would have kissed him, so I just slapped him on the a$$. *kidding*

I had a NSV I didnt even know I would look forward to... the water in the bath tub goes over my tummy for the first time in years!

Shhhh, I couldn't be happier for you. I KNOW that feeling. When I lost that 20 lbs that let me slip in siZE 18 jeans , it was like I had climbed a mountain. I was done with the plus size department. Be proud of yourself , this is a HUGE nsv. Your band sister, edie

I'm not sure what a NSV is but I assume its some good news! I have two: 1. My darling husband after hearing someone remark about my weight loss replied that he is happy for me because I am happy but that my weight had nothing to do with how much he loved me. :kiss2: 2. Phyll- Sorry to hear about your son. It has to be frustrating, I have a teacher that I work with that is going through the exact same thing, but I don't think that bond was quite that high. As for the crying, I have been the same way lately. Mine is mostly about hating my job, but I will see a sad commercial or show or hear a sad song and I get all choked up. Here is a funny story that might get you to laugh a little bit. I just got done doing my workout routine with the exercise ball and weights. I was doing push ups and I go until my arms just won't lift me any further. Just as they gave out and I kind of ungracefully rolled off the ball, my boyfriend turned around to look at the tv and there I was sprawled out all over the floor. He said "when you claimed to be a beached whale in the past, I didn't think that you ever looked like one, but seeing you laying there all sweaty and flopped over, I think I finally see it." He was just kidding of course but I told him that I was going to have to post that he called me a beached whale. Then he said "well, more like a beached guppy, there is just not enough blubber left on ya." How sweet. I will take it as a compliment. So here is an NSV for the day. I went in to the copy room this morning to make a few copies. Then I left and quickly remembered that I forgot to check my mailbox and turned around to go back in. I heard another teacher say "Holy crap she has lost a lot of weight". I knew that they really meant it, because there is a wall between where I was and where they were, so they weren't just saying it to make me feel good. :clap2: That makes me happy because the stinking scale went up a pound today. But that is okay because the jeans that I just bought 2 weeks or so ago are getting loose!!!!!! I am starting to think that I will be really happy when I get my fill on the 21st. I am still staying at the same amount of calories, but I am having to eat a lot of salads to even get satisfied anymore. I found this great new caesar salad dressing spritz that has 2 calories per spray so that helps with my wanting to eat. I have wanted to eat, eat, eat in the last few days. My will power is being tested. So far I would give it an A, and since I am a certified, legitimate teacher, that should be an accurate grade. Good night all, chat with you tomorrow.

Hi all... I had to share a NSV... Today is my birthday & my 2 month band anniversary... one of the gifts My hubby got me was a pair of nice jammies from the "normal" store... They are an XL but they fit!! They would have never fit 2 months ago!! I am sooooooooooooooo excited!!! I can not wait to say goodbye to the plus stores!

I love hearing NSVs. With us all being around the same time, I can relate to a lot of it. I'll share a couple of my own... My work pants are getting too big. If I wasn't wearing an extra insulating layer underneath them, I could probably pull them off without unbuttoning. LOL I'm noticing a single chin when I smile. Yay! I tried on my REAL wedding ring yesterday and it goes on without forcing. It's not LOOSE, but I was able to slip it on. I've been wearing a silver band since I got too heavy for my ring (it made my finger hurt!). Now when I'm not at work and don't have to worry about the setting, I can wear my real wedding ring. :clap2:

BRANDI - YOU WILL DO IT!!! update on dad .. thank you so much for the prayers he is doing a lot better doctor said he has a galblader infection but over all good and maybe he goes home tomarrow yay!!! Nsv. some friend of my parents went to see my dad in the hospital I said hello and then she turnes to my mom and says who is that lol mom says its my daughter she laughed and said omg i didnt reconize you . so I left because the room was getting croweded so about 1/2 hour walked back to the room and she looked at me weird as I walked in and as I got closer she started laughing and said I am so sorry didnt recognized you again . So she started asking question of why I did it and I told her why and how you all have helped so much well I made her cry she said she never thought in her mind someone would find people so amazing I said yes God put them in you life for a reason and when you need them the most so now I have a new family . Well she said she wanted me to talk to several youngsters in there 30 that are over weight to talk them into having it done lol I said I tell them my experience and about my new family but its up to them how much they love themselves so love you all once again .. another update and more prayers needed they open another job opportunity in chicago exactly what i want I just applied so pls keep your fingers crossed ... that would be my x-mass gift besides having my dad always with me ok yes yes I am totally daddy girl love you have a great day !! clau

In the case of that I have a legal obligation to step in and report to child welfare services because I am a mandatory reporter. Hopefully this will be my last year as a teacher. I really don't like the job. It is thankless and I am noticing that I just don't have the patience that I used to. I don't want a job where I have 5-6 hours of "homework" after I am finished at my job. I would like to come home, workout (of course) and then just spend the rest of the evening with my BF doing whatever we want. I have had to give up our season tickets to the symphony and the theater because I just don't have time to go. Plus we just moved to the central oregon area in June and I DON'T LIKE IT HERE. The people are rude and the landscape looks like nothing can live over here. We are trying to find jobs so that we can move to Western Washington (even though right now they are under 8 feet of water!) because that is where my family lives. Only problem is this lap-band bill that I pay every month makes the income that I need very high. Oh well...it is worth it. Even if the dang scale isn't moving. Good NSV though...the last three shirts that I had in my closet this morning are all too big. The scale has not moved but I am losing size like there is no tomorrow. I will take that over the scale not moving any day! Have a good day. My kids are state testing today so it is nice and easy for me!

NSV... I was making a purchase at the fabric store and the cashier looked at the picture on my credit card (it's a small little picture, less than 1") she looked at the picture and me several times then said "you need to get a new picture on your card, that doesn't look at all like you, you've lost a lot." TeeHeeHee

I have a dimple! Not like the kind that is on my thighs...the FACE kind! Who knew. Ive never been small enough to see it. This is by leaps and bounds the best NSV Ive had so far!
