    NSV!

I have been so morbidly obese for so long I got used to not being able to do much. I couldn't fit through certain openings or chairs, can't pick up things off the floor, can't fit in my seatbelt and have to use an extender, and when I sit in my car the wheel rubs against my stomach even if the seat is all the way back. These are things some of you may have experience with and some of you may not as I was on the high high end at 540 when I started. I've been trying to get myself to try doing things but I'm so afraid I still won't be able to. It's really a daily mental struggle. I haven't driven much since my sleeve surgery in May because I've had a lot of health craziness and I got in my car the other day and my extender wasn't clicked in so I tried to click my seatbelt without the extender and I fit! I was so excited! It wasn't until then that I looked down at the wheel and almost happy cried. My stomach was a good 4-5 inches from the wheel and I could probably move the seat up when before I hardly fit in the seat when it was all the way back. I know the picture is weird but I was excited! Starting weight: 540 Surgery weight:480 Current weight: 360 Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    It gets better!

Ditto. I went to the Renaissance festival today. It was the first visit I wasn't crying on the way back to the car. I have plantar fasciitis which is still there, but damn does 45 less pounds make a huge difference!! This will also be the last year I can get by with this corset. Laced up as tight as it can go! NSV. I'm 7 weeks post op. Some days I feel normal, some days not.

NSV! You are the only people who "get" it.

    I get it. Congratulations! http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/379379-biggest-nsv-yet-3?hl=%2Bbiggest+%2Bnsv+%2Byet#entry4290213
  7. To begin with, I am 2 months post op and have had a great recovery. I am one of those people that RARELY get on a scale because I know I will obsess and pretzel brain twist over the number. I don't even own a scale to be honest. Anyway, my husband and I were going to dinner last night...and instead of wearing my usual black stretchy Pallazo Pants or Yoga Pants that I desperately attempt to dress up...I decided to try an old pair of jeans on in order to "gauge" where I am (I have a closet FULL of my "thin" clothes that I could just never get rid of). Much to my amazement, the jeans FIT! They were a size 14...but they fit! And not like "busted can of biscuits" fit, but actually FIT. My ultimate goal is my size 8's that are also collecting dust in there...but dang this was a start! I haven't worn those jeans in over 5 years. I haven't worn ANY jeans in over 5 years. Once I outgrew those...I threw in the towel and gave up. What great motivation....I cried.

    How about some NSVs!?!?

Good morning Y'all. I love this thread! my best NSV this week was putting on one of my husbands sweatshirts and having it be big and baggy!!! it actually fit like a husband's shirt is supposed to! lol... made me feel like a tiny little wife! keep up the good work all!!!
  9. Single digit jeans! I made a last minute stop to Marshalls and I thought to myself I've been having a crappy week (work related) I need a new pair of jeans. I was rummaging through the 10s. But the 10s I have now we're getting a little bit loose, so I picked up a pair of 8s and thought if they don't fit now they may fit in few weeks. Came home tried them on and they fit! Like a glove and I can't believe it. I have not been in the single digits since maybe my freshman year of high school! I'm down 83lbs. Current weight 173.
  10. Three NSVs - 1. my bra is to big for me... 2. I bought a lower body shaper back in 2011 for my sister's wedding - it took her and my mom helping me into it to pull it up in the back. I can now do it all on my own and it stays up! 3. I can rub my own back thank you very much :D

Good deal! Stuff that surprises me (like your shaper) are my favorite nsv's.

Great news. Good things come in threes. And I'm not at all surprised that @High functioning fat man is surprised by your shaper and its history!

  11. 32lbs off and 31 inches all over. From a start on op-day of 249, I'm delighted. Favourite NSVs so far... I can do up my DMs properly I bought clothes off the peg in a vintage shop I fit a supermarket bra I got 11 miles worth of 1:1 time with my 12 year old today

    How about some NSVs!?!?

Most recent NSV....being able to take a picture one time and not nitpick everything about it. Also having candid pictures taken of you at an event and not chasing down the person with the camera to delete the photos Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App
  13. Enjoying my Bday weekend with the fam! At Cedar point amusement park for Halloweekends.... not worried about whether I can fit my big ass on the ride! I've been able to ride everything so far. Great feeling! Biggest NSV next to getting into Onederland.

  15. Before surgery, my "fat jeans" cut off my circulation. Last weekend I found I can pull them on and off without even undoing them. Off to Goodwill they go! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  16. I forgot to post this the other day.. Went shopping with my younger step sister and was trying on clothing... The jeans that I had just bought there a month ago were a bit loose, so I scooped up the same ones in a lower size ...yep. Size 8. Hello. SINGLE DIGIT JEANS!!!!!!!!!! Already wearing smalls in most dresses and tops, but THIS was a big one!!! Could likely go to 6 when these last pounds come off around my waist... 4's after a tummy tuck....Hot damn! NSV on steroids. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  17. I've decided on a new highly specific NSV goal after attending a concert last nite: would like to be small enough that a man lets me sit on his shoulders at a show. Just for one song! Maybe the slow song. Highly specific. But it's going to happen one day.

  18. You will do great, just keep you eye on the prize, lol!! I began at a very tight size 24, within a year I was a 00 and have maintained ever since. The maintenance is the hardest part. Losing is easier, because you have the reward of watching the scale go down, NSV's, smaller clothes and many compliments. You will easily be able to get to size 10!
  19. NSV this weekend...a yoga pose that wasn't possible a year ago with body shape/size is now accessible. WOOT!

A year ago, this pose wasn't accessible to me. Physically, I just had too much stomach and thighs to get my legs up high enough to hold me. This seemed like such an easy pose for other Yogis even those with larger bodies than me. Today, I did it, repeatedly. Yay NSV!
  21. I'm a few days shy of my 4 months and I had another NSV! In May when I went on my honeymoon, I was one chicken nugget away from needing a seatbelt extender on the plane. Today, I flew to Washington DC by myself for work and this! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Hamilton

Great NSV and you couldn't have made a better choice. The creativity, intelligence and vibrancy are almost overwhelming. The documentary, "Hamilton's America," is equal to it.

    Hamilton

That's awesome! What a great NSV. I haven't seen the special but have seen the show twice. I will admit the songs get stuck in my head sometimes!
  24. Inner Surfer Girl

    Hamilton

I watched the Hamilton special last night. Since it was a beautiful fall day in central Kentucky I decided to take a road trip this afternoon to a state park and listened to my Hamilton CD all the way there and back, turned way up! This is an NSV because a year ago I could never have taken a spontaneous road trip like that!
