I am in Sierra Vista now - we love it here. Pat is retired and I was in for 10 years - with my second kid I decided that the travel was too much. DM is ok - but it gets too hot in the summer Ft Huachuca is much cooler and less crowded!

hey sista, Im doing good, lost 10 more pounds, 45 since starting the whole journey, yeah Im like you Im feeling great! I have had one fill but I think Im ready for another one... hope i lose ten pounds a fill that would be awesome !!

Hi Canadiangirl. It wasn't bad at all! the people at Maples were very nice. I was in and out in no time at all. I had a hernia repaired as well that they found and I believe that is actually what is giving me the most pain. Oh well I look at it as a 2 for 1 deal. lol 3 weeks of the medi trim... yuck. I only did two, and that really sucked. I did lose 10 pounds though. Good luck!

You just need to rest up and heal right now. I'm 6 weeks out and have only lost 10 lbs. this is the healing process time. Some people don't even lose weight in this time. Praying for you. ttyl.

Hey Amy Elizabeth, Hope your doing well! Just dropping by to say hi. I'm done with liquids and Puree already. Thank God! I get my first fill 4/25 which is exciting but a little depressing in that I'll have to do liquids for three days after a fill so thats a bummer but thats not bad. If I could do 10 days on liquids pre op & 10 days on liquid post op in addition to 10 days on puree, I'll manage. Keep me posted

Hey there.. I am sooo happy I got banded. I was more afraid of the risks of not being banded than the risks of being banded... stroke, heart attack, diabetes.. I am down 117.5 pounds and I know that my chances of getting those killer diseases are sooo much less now. Yes there are risks with the band but for me (I haven't had any complications) the risks of not getting done were so much worse. It has been almost 10 months and I honestly would do it again in a heartbeat!! I wouldn't even think twice about it. I am a self pay and feel it was worth every penny I spent. I must say that I did have every complication you can think of, however I don't mean to sound vain, but I would do it again. I did have it done in Mexico by a very experienced set of doctors. I know about 10 people from my small town that had used this place and they were all successful. My mother-n-law went in 30 minutes before me and had no complications. I lost about 60 pounds during the time I was sick. I am steadily fighting to keep from gaining. I wish I could have it put back in but I am too scared. I went to Mexico to save money, but it has ended up costing me over $100,000 in medical bills. I had it removed here in the U.S., which is where I highly recommend you have anything done. My dad just had the "Sleeve" done and he has lost about 80 pounds and is doing great. No fills or foreign objects. I would recommend that over the lap band.

I have 5.7cc in a 10 cc band. 70 pounds is awesome!!! congrats on your success. I excercize alot and try and stay away from carbs. I am almost to goal weight and it is getting so much harder now. Good luck and you look terrific!

Hey! good for you!!! Yeah you should definitely lose those 2 lbs by the end of the week. I just had my 4th fill yesterday and it is pretty tight so I am hoping to lose at least 10 lbs this month. My last fill i didnt feel any restriction so I only lost 2 lbs...my 16's would have been loose by now!...So I am teetering between my 18's and 16's. I am working on my 10 lbs this month and a definite size 16. Let's do it!:thumbup:

Well here it is 10 days post op and I am feeling great. I was unable to contact anyone prior to this since my internet service was out for almost 2 weeks. We are back to normal now.

I do not feel surgery was bad at all. I had no gas pains as most talk about just had a very sore tummy, like I did about 400 sit-ups. I was not hungry until about 3 days ago and I am now starting on soft foods. I see my surgeon on Tuesday and it will be back to work for me the following Monday. I had lost 21 lbs pre op, on that liquid diet and I will be anxious to see how much more I lost since surgery on 3/25/09. Keep in touch- Lighterload

Is your surgery stilled planned for next week? I am 10 days post Op and I have to tell you, it was not that bad at all. I was vomiting for two days post op but its been all up hill since. Lost 21 lbs pre surgery on that 21 day liquid diet. I see my surgeon on Tuesday so I am anxious to see how much more I have lost. keep in touch- Lighterload

I also am at my two week preop and saw the surgeon today. I feel good just a little sore at my port site also. Now, I get to start soft foods and pureed food. Any ideas you like? I lost 30 lbs before my surgery and have lost 10 in the two weeks since my surgery.

My surgery went very well, I love my Dr, now the hospital on the other handis another story, lets just say I was happy to be home (thought my hubby was gonna kill someone LOL).

As far as weight loss....today is day 6 post op and my scales say I'm down 6lbs, I have my follow up Friday morning so I'm looking forward to seeing what the office scales say.

Gas pain didn't start until day 4, but it's still lingering, a heating pad seems to help alot though.

So how was your surgery and how are you surviving thru "Bandster Hell"??

I just wanted to say that i think you look AMAZING !! you can REALLY tell in your face just how much you've lost :-) May I ask - what are you doing for a daily routine? do you exercise? just watch what you wat? I had surgery 10/14/08 , and i'm only down 40 pounds, but i also know i havent exercised much. Any advice would be helpful!

Things are great! I'm down to 214. I can't believe I finally had a super awesome month- lost a total of 10 lbs and fit into a snug 16 but still consider myself between 16 and small 18's. Whoohoo! I'm so excited. I hope I can keep up the momentum since I've had a really rough time.

:scared2:I am having the surgery on April 10, 2009. A hair loss is one of my issues too. I was told to make sure I get in my 70 to 80 grams of protein and I will be okay.

My surgery date is April 10, 2009. I will start my liquid diet this coming week. That is the hard part.

I have to go back to Florida to finish out the concert season so I am going back Monday for a fix, I have 6 cc's in my 10 cc band so I imagine they will roll me back to 4 or 5 cc's

I am 5 '1, 248 lbs, just got banded 02-24-09. I just wanted to know. I know it's common sense, but I think I just need a little nudge in my behind from someone other than my boyfriend. I lost 10 lbs and have not lose any more for the last 3 weeks now. My first fill is in 2 weeks. I have only been working out about 1-2x a week on my Wii Fit and my boyfriend keeps telling me I have to work out more than that to lose.

Is it true that you lose more once you have your fill? Should I start really kicking ass and working out hard already 4 weeks out? Well 5 weeks on tuesday? Thank you.

Hey yes everything heal really well...I have lost 31 pounds and have not had my first fill yet!!!!I get my first fill at the end of April!! Which is fine by me as i am still lossing and Headed to Jamaica in 10 days so i don;t want to be all tight and uncomfortable!!!I have not been this weight in 7 years!!!

Gabi I am from Texas, about 100 miles west of Dallas, I believe it does take a lot of courage on our parts to do this, I believe we are just taking a stand and saying no more of this diet, binge, up and down weight world, we are having a final say on it all. I feel little bad when I hear of some not doing so good, I have made myself get outside 2-3 times a day and walk 10-15 minutes to try and build up my strength and stamina, have to go back to work Monday which will be 6 days post-op, very sedentary job though!
