Hello fellow November Bandsters! I went shopping in my closet this a.m. in the previously "too tight" section and found some things that ended up too big and some that fit very well. So I have a few "new" things to wear and have to retire a few things as well. I was kind of disappointed with one pair of pants that I had been holding on to, the elastic waist band was shot. They are dressier pants and a nice brand but I guess the elastic just got old or the dry cleaners used something too strong on them. Too bad b/c they would have fit perfectly, now the waist just hangs. I am now in mostly 18's and once I get lower than that I will have to go shopping b/c I do not have anything smaller in my closet for pants. Just maybe a few smaller tops! Has anyone else noticed that your arms are starting to hang straighter along your body, instead of sticking out b/c of the hips? I love this NSV!

LOL! I just posted on the general forum about how much I love my band! I've lost almost 30 lbs with no fill yet! And I feel great! My NSVs are pertty similar to all of yours - baggy clothes, wearing my awesome knee-high boots without them being tight, etc. I think my biggest one is the confidence that I know people can see. I feel awesome. I feel in control. I feel like I can do this and I can be healthy and I can be attractive and I can be ME! I have more energy, I don't think about food all the time. I'm only eating when I'm hungry. I'm paying attention to my body instead of punishing it. I had the picture experience too! All of a sudden, I'm not paraniod about having my picture taken! I was afraid that if I suddenly died, there would be no pictures for my kids to remember what I looked like, which didn't seem like such a bad thing to me. But not anymore! Now if I could just get my husband to actually take a picture. LOL! I still can't get my wedding ring off, but I know I will soon. It hasn't come off in three years. That will be a major NSV! Yes, I love my band, too.
  5. The panic, and last minute nerves are very common!!! I am not on any detailed diet, I eat what I want, when I want---some times not always the quantities I think I want, but then again, that is what got me to where I was!!! The head hunger is more of an issue than the real true hunger. Once I got some restriction, I no longer have real hunger. There IS hope!!! Without a doubt in the world!! I love my band! The thing with these support forums is that when people get their band, and all is going well, and they have full time jobs, or are not a computer addict (like me)---they simply do not post daily. There are more posts with bandsters looking for help with an issue, because they come back looking for help! If all of us not having problems posted new threads every day, there would be page after page of threads like "Another problem free day" "Another 2 pounds GONE!", on and on. But they don't do that! We do have threads for NSV's (Non scale Victories),and we have the before and after--you should check out, it shows some amazing changes, and gives you an idea how many of us are here without issues or complications. I am well over a year and a half out, I am almost to my original goal weight. I probably could have been there, I just have not chosen to be very tight in my band, and have opted to not diet in an effort to speed it up. Instead I have chosen to live these days like I hope to live the rest of my life. In moderation! I eat almost everything. Almost....I refuse to try to eat another glazed donut, it made me sick!!! I ate 2 bites, it felt like I ate a dozen donuts--yueeech!!! Anytime you need encouragement, or assurance it is well worth it--let me know!! PM me, email me--whatever! Hang out, tell us about yourself, and hang on it is an awesome ride, going Down the scale for a change!! Welcome to LBT!! Kat
  6. Hey November Nymphs! Merry Christmas! How did everyone do staying on plan today. I must admit this was the first day that I actually strayed off course since being banded. And guess what? I feel like crap tonight. I guess I am not used to all the sugar I put into my body. I am not beating myself up about it; I just resolved to get back on track tomorrow and follow the plan to the "T". Can't wait for my fill on the 3rd, I am starting to get more hungry between meals so I know that I need a fill. So how about you? Did you do all right? Post your ups and downs, we are here for you. Cindy PS: Oh yeah! I met my New Years Goal a week early and hit below 300. Yeah...a Christmas NSV Gift for me.:faint:

MY OWN NSV! Went to BIL/SIL house today. Ate 2 shrimp, 1/2 of the inside of a stuffed cabbage, a little potato salad and a little creamy Jello stuff ( cool whip, pudding kind of thing). I had no dessert/ no wine or drinks. One other meal today (b'fast) scrambled egg and one piece whole wheat toast. Feel so good that I had control (this year at least). I have one week to get below 200 (aiming for 198 by 12/31) and I so want to be there.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. I'm kind of weepy right now with my DH just thinking about my Dad and StepMom. But I logged on, and your kind thoughts and prayers helped to cheer me up. I really shouldn't feel too bad. My dad is facing this with open arms and heart, ready for whatever God wills. So I guess I should too. The kids were so excited about Santa coming tonight. I logged onto Norad's Santa tracking site for them, and Jesse was right into it. So cute!!! We decorated the Gingerbread house together and then when we put Sarah to bed, he helped me make some special shortbread Cookies just for Santa. Now the cookies & milk are out, the carrots are ready for the reindeer and my DH is wrapping presents. I'm kicking back with a glass of red wine, and thinking about how special Christmas is. I love Christmas. It was my Mom's favourite holiday, and I think it rubbed off on me. I don't care about the presents, just the togetherness and the joy and excitement in the kids eyes. I love to cook and bake at this time of year and watching my loved ones enyoy it. Of course, I won't be able to eat much of it... but that's ok. Just spending the time together is what I love. Have a wonderful holiday. And for those among us who don't Celebrate Christmas, or who celebrate Kwanza, Hannaka (sp?), or just finished Eid, or another holiday... I hope it's wonderful and full of joy. Ok, I'm a bit sappy tonight... oh well!! I had an NSV the other day. For our Christmas present, my Dad and Stepmom gave us $$ to go to the store and pick out our own gift. Then we came back and wrapped them and opened them to share with everyone. It was hillarious to show everyone. We all got right into the spirit of the moment. They really wanted us to have nice presents, but didn't have the emotional energy to do it themselves. So we all did it for them. Just as an aside... if you ever find yourself in a similar situation... this works and is a lot of fun for everyone! Anyways, my NSV moment... I love the store, Coldwater Creek. We don't have it in Canada, so I order from them online sometimes. But there is a store in Fort Wayne where my dad lives. So I went shopping. In the past, I could occasionally find a 3x that would fit, but not always. Well, I bought 2 pairs of pants size 20 (I was size 26) and 2 tops size 2x. They look beautiful!!! And my DH thinks I'm sexy in them... of course he thinks I'm sexy all the time... but I saw the twinkle & excitement in his eye and know that he's thinking I'm even more sexy!! Ok, enough sharing for one Christmas Eve. Happy Christmas everyone!!!

Reno or N. Nevada Bandsters out there???

Can I share something???? One of the NSV for me was, (if you read my posts I am a slow loser) BUT I have more self confidence and self esteem than I ever had had in my life. You maybe can understand when I share with you that I would avoid any situation that involved seeing people that had not seen me in awhile or meeting people for the first time after we had met over the phone etc. because I could see it in their face the (OMG) this person is not who I thought she was over the phone or look how much bigger she has gotten. I will write more later...

    Huge NSV.

Yesterday my girlfriend Angie gave me some before and after pictures. I believe the first picture was when I was at 308 prior to my preop diet . I was banded at 282. Anyway, long story short. What amazed me most is what a 90 lbs difference makes. I was huge in the pictures . A size 24 I believe. I am now a size 18 at 5'8" tall. I can't believe the difference!

:clap2: Hey Girl it's great to hear from you - we sure do miss you... Hope you and yours have a Blessed Christmas & New Years - You gotta promise to spend some more time here.. How's the body bugg doing... Brandy - Way to go :clap2: - Dont you fee just so much better... I know I do.. OMG - Yes it was my fault cuz I didn't close his door... I like crystal lite - fruit punch is my fav- but i like plain water too - I have always been a water or ice tea drinker. OK my report on Cookie Making !!!!!! Had a great time with my GD's & DIL. You want to know what the cookies were ok - but i didn't really die for them - BUT my DIL made some homemade choc chip w/walnuts - OMG those are better than the xmas coookie - i think the xmas cookie are too sweet or rich or something - i really was ok with the 2 i had - and 2 choc chip - I brought home 3 choc chips for me & some xmas for my GS - they are in his room So I don't think I did bad at all - especially since these are my first real sweets of the season My DIL made dinner and ate 1/2 c meat - 1/2 corn tortilla (found a new store that makes them-but they sorta stuck I had 2 bites and had to wait til it went down and I was hungry) 1/4 c rice - and am full... So all in all I am in control and not out of control like I thought i might be - while I was bagging up the xmas cookies - I made 2 bags one for Andrew and the other for me - and I looked at it and said - do you really want to take these home - you don't really want them but you will eat them if you take them home - so i didn't bring any of the xmas cookies, only the choc chips.. My NSV today... We also went to the store and got the stuff to make tamales - we started the meat which will cook all nite on low and then tomorrow make the tamales. Well, everyone must be busy with family - as we are very quite again today.. Will ck in later - gotta ck my other threads....

    Anyone here?

Audree - great NSV! I have a new NSV too. I finally bought me some tall boots to wear with my dresses - they fit! I've never been able to wear them before because my calves were always too big. Also, I'm checking into Smart Lipo, anyone heard about it? I have a consultation next month with a doctor and I'm going to get some prices, if its too expensive, I'm thinking about going to see Dr. Lopez in TJ, MX - she is at the Versalles Center in Mexico. Anyone ever heard of her? I've doing a lot of research on Smartlipo and I've heard good things about it and its less invasive than other surgeries. I just have huge thighs and fat pockets on them and this is supposed to help with cellulite (I hate cellulite). Anyhow, just checking into it at this point.

Kristin- Look at the ticker, you are doing great. I too love all us November Nymphs too! I would love to start a thread that tracks how much weight we are losing as a group. I think that it would be awesome to see how much weight we have lost all together. I am sure it is a lot. I have an NSV..I own a country store here in MA and all my customers cannot figure out what is changing about me. Usually they ask if I have done something different with my hair but then they say that boy you are looking younger. I finally break down and tell them that I have lost 53lbs. they are like wow it is amazing how much younger you look. I just love that because in a few weeks, I will be turning 40 eeeek! This Band was a gift to myself for being overweight over 35 years and wanting to change my life for next 40 years. Did I mention I love this band.

    Nsv!!!

I went shopping for an outfit last night to wear to a holiday party tonite, for Christmas day and possibly New Years. I went down from a 26/28 or a 3X in pants to an 18/20. I went down from a 30/32 in tops to a 22/24. What I'm upset about....I went from a 44DD to a 44D. My girls are disappearing right before my eyes!! I'm completely traumatized over this. Nevertheless, WOW!! What a good feeling it is to be getting skinny!!
