Started 'Couch to 5k today' Anyone keen?

Thanks. I'm running every other day, getting in my fluids better and protein since I started going to the gym regularly. Also started losing faster again. In all I am so glad that I can run with out pain again, that's an NSV for sure! How's everybody else doing?

August post op sleevers: Check in

Glad to see everyone is doing well here. I have no idea where i am in regards to weight lose. I do notice that my stomach is getting smaller, YaY! I have my energy back, it doesn't matter because I am still lazy, lol. I am so over the full liquid thing. I hope to be cleared to the next next phase on Monday. I also did not exercise yet. I need to be cleared for the recumbent bike, once that happens I am going to take off with that. Still doing the Flintstones Complete. Four out of five of my terry strips came off. The biggest incision is closed. I was really concerned with that. All in all I feel like I didn't have the surgery. But I must note that I did not have hernia repair so that could make a difference. My pain after surgery felt like a bad tummy ache. And the pain on day 2 that I had felt like an alien was coming through my chest. Talk about Aliens part 7, lol. That pain was terrible but was controlled with narcotics. I also suffered from nausea and they gave me Patches to take home. That nausea really set me back. they kept bringing the Optisource shakes and they were terrible. the only thing I did like was the broth. I wasted those shakes and felt bad about it. I am so happy that so many of the August folks are getting their walking in. As long as we stick to our doctor's plan we can accomplish our goals people. Just remember to measure and take your time eating and drinking. Any NSV's (non scale victories) yet? Please share.
  3. I'm one month out tomorrow! Was sleeved on 12/10. Surgery went quick... I woke up in intense pain until I was alert enough to learn the pain pump, then it was smooth sailing. My nurses were shocked, I was walking alot, getting up and down with no issues, getting in fluids easily. Fast forward 4 weeks... I'm down 30lbs. Still working on meeting Fluid goals. Eating pretty normally. I do have one incision that has opened and is inflamed, but not too painful nor is it infected. I seem to handle all foods quite well, and that bothers me. I'm going to chat with my NUT tomorrow and ask lots of questions. I've started jogging and went to work at 4 days post-op. I've been wearing jeans since 2 days post-op and over all feel pretty fantastic. My weightloss has been good, but I was kinda hoping for more. Please note that not everyone will have the same recovery. I have a friend who was sleeved the same day and still can't return to work, still can't keep anything down. I'm lucky... good luck to everyone who was recently sleeved or who is waiting! Excited to share the journey with you all. I had my first NSV today. I looked in the mirror and actually noticed a smaller me. For the first time, I could see the weighloss. It's exciting!!

I had a HUGE inny and now it is not such a huge deep inny. (the things we share) ha ha

    Losing it!

First little NSV! I have these underwear that are a little too small, the front tends to roll down under my tummy. Just put them on and they are staying in place. I need a scale!

    August Sleevers?! Where Ya's At?

I've been reading everyone's NSV posts a few of mine are: Packing to go on a trip and not freaking about what to wear. Having room in my suitcase because it won't be full of Lane GIANT size 22 clothes. Fitting in my airplane seat. Seeing plays at all the great little theaters here in Los Angeles and fitting in the seat and not pressing against the person next to me! 31 days to go!!!! Happy Dancing!!!!

Hi Ladies! Sorry it's been so long since I've checked in--life has been CRAZY! Beversman—Way to go! You look wonderful! I’m so impressed with all you’ve accomplished! By the way, don’t the cops have murderers to chase around instead of tormenting you?? Give me a break! You absolutely slay me, you know! I love your “pledge:” OK -- Hello everyone. My name is Brandi, and I promise to stop drinking milk.... to only eat lean WHOLE protien... to exercise like I am supposed to (AKA back on the bike). I will stop eating calorie laiden condiments... and refrain from the excessive consumption of adult beverages on the weekends. I promise to start drinking water and to take my vitamins. I’m going to start repeating it myself! Nathalie—I know what you mean about the game playing at work. I’m stuck with some passive-aggressive folks who can be very hurtful. The tension can be unbearable at times—makes me sick to my stomach! BooBooKitty—WOW!! Size 10 pants! Fantastic!!! I love that bridesmaid dress—it’s so pretty! So sorry about your accident. I’m very glad that you weren’t hurt badly! Jillrn—I’m losing at about the same rate you are. I haven’t been moving around enough lately though. I think I’d speed things up if I exercised a bit more. StephC—Sorry to hear you keep getting sick! It’s hard to know what will go down well sometimes. :yuck: Kaydotrn—I hope your fill helps you out! Hang in there! Don’t doubt yourself—you really are doing a terrific job! I’m so glad you can count down when you’re done with school. There is finally a light at the end of the tunnel! Bannanie—Cool new car! Good for you! Bkwalling—You’re halfway to your goal. That is amazing! Keep on keeping on!!! :wow2: Claudiagdlmex—Sorry to hear you’ve been feeling down! I know how you feel. I think my entire body has crashed and burned since I finished school. I still seem to be going at the same breakneck pace even if I don’t have classes and homework anymore. Work has continued to be nuts—a deadly combination of a heavy workload and having to work with people who can be very unkind. I’m way too sensitive I guess. I just don’t like conflict. I was so depressed that I did nothing last weekend—unusual for me. Normally I’m constantly doing something like the energizer bunny! I’ve been mad because I haven’t had the energy to exercise and I know I won’t lose as fast if I don’t get moving! I went to the doctor this week and am back on an antidepressant. The fog seems to be lifting a bit now. I’m hoping I can get back to my old self again soon. I think I may look for a new job opportunity in the spring. I can’t keep up this pace forever! Faithmd—Thanks so much for the laugh—“it's hand to mouth with Oreo disease in my case!” Too funny! :bounce: Well, I think I’ve caught up on everyone’s news! As for me, my most recent NSV was riding every rollercoaster at Busch Gardens without having to worry about fitting in the seats!! :whoo: I’ll share this next tidbit of information because I know you will all appreciate it! I gotta go shopping for some new underwear tomorrow! The ones I have now are baggy and saggy (kind of like the rest of me, ha, ha)! :faint: Hang in there everyone and keep up the good work! We gotta work hard to reach our 1-year goals, but I think we can do it!

Steph--thanks on the congrats. How did you break yourself from the constant pouncing on the scale?? Even with my hidden now I still pull it out and hide to weigh myself at least 7 times a day. Claud--I am so sorry sweetie, don't let it get to you! You know you are better than that! Just don't let em see you sweat sweetie, you are better than that! VA--congrats on the NSV! Hugs to you! SHe probly noticed there was no Ho-ho's and then saw you are becoming a skinny little thing! I ate 4 raviolos today and no PB, first time ever! I have missed my pasta. I know it can be a fluke, but I will take it! :hungry:

Just checking in to say HI. I missed you while the site was down. Glad to see everyone is A-OK. I'm okay, too! NSV: I had to buy new coats yesterday. Last year's coat was a 3X. THIS year's coat is an XL. And I can button it and have a little wigglin room in it. I was blown away by that! BLOWN. AWAY! nat

Good morning, Stayed up way too late last night watching the Sox. I went outside after they won and all you could hear were people going nuts. There are a few pubs in my little Boston neighborhood right at the end of my street. It was wild. Fun to hear though. The kids got to wear Red Sox shirts over their school uniforms today so they were really excited (more about the clothes than about the baseball). Monday morning weigh-in: 275/211/157 +1lbs from last week..UGH! Whatever. I just have to keep plugging along. Thanks for all of your band advice. I am going to stick this out the next week and see if things loosen up a bit. I just miss eating my salads and healthy foods. I am not digging the acidy feeling either. I think I will try some Zantac. It doesn't help that I have a MAJOR toothache that needs to be checked out. I just know it will cost a fortune. Always does...grrrrr. Steph-sounds like a fun time with DD. Great! I wouldn't sweat the 4lbs. I am sure it will be gone in the next day or two. Especially if Chinese food was involved. All that sodium! Drink your water and it will flow off. Maurdan-nice to see you. What is new? How are you doing with your band? VA-sorry to hear that you think your interest may be unrequited. Use him for practice. ha. Practice your flirting on him and see what happens. Maybe he has some nice male friends...don't rule anything out. Sounds like you had fun anyway. B-man-glad to see you. I know you are in a rut and I KNOW you will get through it. We are here even if you want to vent. It sucks and I am sorry you are going through some crap. Be as quiet as you need to be, but let us know you are here and okay. Jill-exciting NSV!!!! I am so excited for you. I have a goal to weigh less than DH. He has always been smaller than I am. I think a few months ago he weighed about 189 and I was thinking..great, I can finally catch up to him. Then the bastard weighed himself the other day and he was down to 173. Without freaking trying!!! I want to clobber him. Enjoy being the smallest your hubby has seen you. It must feel great! Boo-sorry about the PS. You are looking fantastic so try to enjoy all you have accomplished. It is frustrating though when you work so hard and have done all you can and just need some tweeks to be perfect! Give it some time, maybe a cash windfall will come your way! :boink: Transformer-keep us posted on the elliptical. Sounds great! Nikki-how is baby boy today? Thinking of you.... I have to run girls. Talk soon.

Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call

My NSV yesterday - shopped in "regular" sizes at Dillard's. I kept thinking someone was going to point at me and tell me where Women's sizes were while laughing hysterically (lol). But no strange looks or anything. Bought 4 sweaters in XL and 2 pairs of jeans without a W after the size! The bottom 1/2 of my body doesn't seem to have lost quite as much size-wise as the top, but it still felt really good! Yes, I admit to doing a bit of a happy dance in the fitting room! (If anyone had seen that, they would have definitely pointed & laughed!). I have noticed lots more hair in my brush the past several days. I've been taking Biotin since 3 weeks post-surgery, using Nioxin shampoo/conditioner, getting 60+ gr protein - so I'm doing what I can/should. I have fairly thick hair so hopefully it won't be too noticable. Like others, I do need to step-up the exercise - just can't seem to make myself do it. I'm ALMOST 1/2 way to my goal of losing 130 pounds - only 6 more pounds to go. I had hoped to be there by 1/1/13, but I'm totally happy with the 59 pounds I've lost - and that I didn't gain any over the holidays Glad everyone seems to be doing so well overall. There are some struggles, but hey, if it were easy, everyone would do it - LOL. Keep up the good work Sept Sisters! Happy 2013!!!!

    NSV shout outs

Well here is a NSV for me. . . I'm out of 4X uniforms and 2X fit loosely, what do you think of that. . after my weigh in yesterday, I thought i'd fit the 3X's (i'd been wearing the 4X's cause they were really, really comfy) well the 3X's as the 4X's were too big, so lets try the 2X's they are comfy and just a wee bit big, but i'm not trying the 1X's just yet, I'll wait. . . I love this shrinking thing!

    NSV shout outs

One of my best friends (who does not know I've had surgery, who NEVER gives compliments, and is brutally honest as a rule of thumb) announced last night, and with no prompting "you know I looked at your wedding photos last night, and your face is almost as thin now as it was then!" Possibly an odd NSV, but I've been married for 8 years, and although I felt like I was massive on my wedding day, I've been nowhere near that thin since, and when I fist had my consultation about WLS, my goal was to get back to where I was then. I really want to be one of those people who could say 10 years on that I held back time and still fit my wedding dress perfectly. Well I'm 6lb off now, and of course I don't want to stop there, but somebody noticed, and said the right thing, which was just bliss!!! :D

My week ago bought top is loose and I need a new one 3. I've been in a shop for NORMAL-NOT-FAT-PEOPLE and things fit! (the best thing ever)

Okay, I have a NSV (and finally a scale victory too). I bought a pair of capris at Sam's last night. Looking at the size 12, I was thinking, "looks like it might run a bit big so I will try the 10". Well I got home and guess what? The 10's are too BIG. I will be taking them back for the 8's this weekend. I realize that this particular brand probably run BIG, but I don't care - the label will say 8. I know I have been sitting right between 10-12 lately, maybe I am finally a real size 10. Woo Hoo!!!! My scale victory - I FINALLY broke my month long stall - down 2 lbs today. Yippee!!!!

    NSV shout outs

This time last summer I was wearing size 28 pants and shorts. Today I am going shopping for size 18 jeans and shorts because my size 20's are too big!!! I am amazed every day with NSV's. There are so many, and I am so grateful. I am so happy that I had the surgery. I will not do anything to mess this up!

Sweethot - girlfriend you misssed the nutter butter cookies - they are to die for under the chocolate fountain!!!! Everything is better under the chocolate fountain. Nat - I totally understand your nsv! My thing is to lay in bed and feel my ribs - one night I thought I was feeling my band until I figured out it was part of my ribcage. go figure? Winter jackets? I am rocking my dd's last years pea coat - I guess its a pea coat but knee length. I love it and feel super sexy in it with my black boots and black gloves. I just ate a slice of pizza and I'm dying - I guess I better go try to throw up - this is ridiculous. It wasn't a big slice, actually a small slice of a med. pizza - last year at this time I'd have eaten 6 slices. Later chicas!

    Where are the 50s ???

Checking in with the Fabulous 50's...I'm really happy today. I hit the 70 pound loss mark. 40 pounds to go. Surgery was May 3. I had to go out and buy new clothes this weekend because I have a couple of week long business trips coming up in colder climates and there is nothing in my closet that fit! My most recent NSV is that I can now fit in Chico's clothing! And not even their largest size! The sales associate had to keep bringing me smaller sizes. It felt awesome. And, bonus, This was the Outlet store that had tons of sales!!!
  25. KarenB - thanks for info on the photos. I am been thinking about taking some. I have one of my husband and I pre-band that I need to scan in and have new photos next to. I think that will help. Congrats on your success! You are an inspiration! RubyJane - GREAT JOB! Keep it up! Stories like yours help those behind you to keep going. Erin - thanks for the encouragement. I have been looking for NSVs, because the scale can be very frustrating!
