like everyone else said, it's just normal fluctuation. as for 30 lbs in 7.5 weeks, you're ahead of where I was at that point, and I started out WAY heavier than you (people with higher BMI's tend to lose more quickly at first). Your loss is completely within the normal range.

It could just be your natural weight fluctuation. Mine is a kilogram (2.2lbs). Hormonal fluctuations, retaining some fluid, being constipated, full bladder, full bowel, etc. all can cause the number to go up on the scale. It doesn’t mean you’re failing. You’re likely weighing yourself more often than before so you’re starting to notice these fluctuations. You won’t lose the exact same amount of weight each day or week is not consistent. It’s expected that your weight loss graph will be a wriggly line. You’ll get little ups & downs & plateaus along the way. As long as your general weight loss trend is going down you’re golden. And your stall will break. Have a chat with your dietician just in case you need to tweak your diet or activity a bit. I liked to think of a stall as my body needing to take a breath to come to terms with my weight loss & dietary changes.
  4. My first consult was 10/29/21 (Im in IL). I had no requirements for my insurance to meet other than attending some workshops the WL Clinic had. I just got my surgery date 2 weeks ago for May 3rd. So my wait wasnt necessarily due to insurance, it was the WL clinic's requirements that had me waiting.

    Food Before and After Photos

Oh no! 😱 But the risk of travelling with any child I think. Spent the day driving about shopping with my sister-in-law last week & discovered very strange stains & remains on the seat of my trousers when I got home. After school & travelling snack leftovers I think. 😁 Congrats on eating almost all those vegetables too. 😉
  6. Greetings all, I'm seeking some guidance. Here are my stats: Pre-op weight: 269, SW: 255.8, CW: 245.8 Sleeve date: 3/31/22 I want to make sure I am consuming the right amount of food in the right way. After surgery, the protein shakes (Fairlife & Premier) caused diarrhea so I stopped drinking the shakes. Instead, my typical day is: Yogurt 25g protein Tuna/Chicken Salad 12-15g protein Pork or chicken 12-15g protein Water or zero-calorie drink I don't consume more than 1/4 - 1/3 of a cup at a time. It takes me 2 "meals" to finish the yogurt. As you can see from my stats I'm losing very slowly; which is fine as long as I know I'm doing the right thing. Can you please share a typical day of meals? I want to make sure I'm doing the right thing. Thanks in advance

    Incision Question

Hiya, you had surgery same day as me I think, April 11. How’s it going? I’m losing weight but really slowly, I’m still feeling a bit tired but really looking forward to starting ‘soft foods’ in a week. My incisions are healing, though the big one on my left side is slower than the others, it was pretty bruised. Would love to know how you are going at this stage 😊

    Exercise and what to do

Yeah at one point it was intentional fitness even if i was walking 2 - 10 miles a day she was worried I would forget to do it if it wasn't a routine and a must do. Then she back peddled and said anything is good as long you are up and moving 150 minutes per week. Now its i forgot to tell you to do these therapies for mental health. So I literally snapped and told her how I felt. Now it is do the therapy but my life coach is intervening making sure thats all and by sept the surgery is a go. ugh so much work it feel like for nothing. I have PCOS and managed to keep my weight at a 233. thats huge since I am normally at 255 ish. I can only pray. The rest of the team is proud of me and totally shocked. My nurse even said , : we've been watching you and you have been done with all the goals for some time. Where are you at let's do this thing!!"

    Incision Question

With my other surgeries I put the foam neosporin and they healed pretty good. The largest one took weeks. That was the lap band and the used the same one to remove it. If you more comfortable buy a big square band aide to put on at night for a bit longer. If gets icky. Call the Dr asap
  10. I've read that stalls are common, especially around the 3 week part. Reddit subs have been super helpful on the pattern of them. It seems hair loss can kick in around months 3 or 4. A longer stall around month 5. With all of it, making sure your water intake is good, diligent with vitamins and protein goals, the stalls I guess unstall themselves and things just keep going good. I've read it's good to take measurements, that even though you might not be losing right now, those inches are still coming off. Good luck!!
  11. I'm now 3 weeks post op and all of my incisions have closed and look great, except one. The one across my belly button is taking FOREVER and it seems like the scab keeps getting knocked off while I sleep or while i'm doing everyday things during the day. It's not open-open, nothing is coming out of it, i'm just worried it's going to be pulled open somehow when the scab is off. Did anyone else have this issue? 12. you would need to call doctors in your area because none of us know where you live. Start calling bariatric centers that you insurance will accept to see if they can fit you in. for me from when i completed all my pre op testing to surgery date was about 3 weeks. ( I am in Florida)

Struggling on day 1 of pre-op liquid diet lol

Seriously??? 2 day preop liquid diet? Consider yourself LUCKY!!!! LMAO. I had to do 2 weeks. I had surgery last Monday. I will tell you my hunger has been basically at a zero this past week. I have to set alarms to remind myself to get my protein in.
  14. Get busy doing something else. Change your daily routine. And drink water or zero cal drinks. Need to occupy your mind. Only 2 days that awesome - norm it’s 2 weeks. And you will be recouping after surgery so maybe not be as hungry for a while. But You must do this so you don’t hurt your tummy after. Think positive and if can get some one to talk to or hang out with - get them. Good luck 🍀!!
  15. You are SO right…I just can’t wait to get this show on the road I guess. It will have to wait till school is out, though. We have only one day off in May, and that’s not enough. EOG’s are last week in May and they don’t end till June 8. I’m definitely looking at dates after that. I know you’re right…I’d be so stressed that I wouldn’t be able to get back to school immediately that it’s best I wait.
  16. Thank you! You are going in like less than 3 days! Best best wishes! I’m concerned about the potential for nausea. I can stand pretty much anything except being nauseous. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Good luck and I’ll be looking for you to give an update!

Over night stay at hospital. Yay or nay

I HAD to stay overnight and it seems necessary because: #1 They need to make sure your vitals are stable #2 They need to replenish your fluids via IV #3 They need to administer anti-nausea and anti-inflammatory meds throughout the night #4 I had to have a UGI the following morning to make sure there were no leaks in my stomach

    Intro and question

Thanks everyone. I had cancelled my appointment as I was diagnosed with some food allergies. But my cardiologist this week said it would be a very good plan if I would at least start seeing them. He would really like me to be 100 pounds lighter. I haven’t told anyone I actually made the appointment and not sure I will.
  19. Do yourself a favor and wait until school is out so that you won't rush back to work and rush and healing process. You'll be tired for a couple of weeks after surgery.

Everybody loses weight at a different rate, so try not to compare yourself with others. Also, stalls are inevitable. It'll all work out.

its been 7.5 weeks since my surgery and I lost a total of 30 lbs. Within the last 2 days I have gained 1 lb so now im back at 29 lbs lost. is this normal? I feel so behind. I see so many people loosing so quickly and so much and I feel stuck. Most my weight was gone within 3 weeks and ive just been stalling. I know im not overeating so I dont get it. Thoughts?

    Eating too much

My surgeon, who I have to say is very different to everyone else's it seems, says no counting: and only 3 rules 1. Eat healthy, high quality, whole foods. You know what they are. 2. Eat about a cup of solid food and listen to your body. 3. Don't drink with or 40 minutes after food. Are you doing all these things? Oh, and chin up. Don't get angry, get even.
  24. winkydinks

    Eating too much

    1. Make sure you're eating solids. Things like yogurt and whatnot will just liquify in your stomach and flush through, thus leaving you hungry again. 2. Going along with point #1, don't drink anything during or after meals. Again, liquids will just push any food you eat through. 3. Are you eating a lot of fat? Doesn't take much oil, butter, cream, cheese, etc to get you up to 1400 in a hurry. 4. Follow your plan to a T. Three 25 minute meals, broken down nutritionally with solid foods without liquid. If you're doing this perfectly and your stomach's growling, then call your doctor's office. If your stomach doesn't feel empty, then you're not physically hungry. You're mentally hungry. Surgery's going to get rid of that for some, but for many, it won't. Try to distract yourself, and if you need to, find a therapist to talk to.
