    Pregnant with Lap-band

Agree with Brie..I think what is most important right now is that your baby is getting the proper care he/she needs..I think a lot of women that are banded and get pregnant are terrified they will gain weight and never be able to get back down to the weight they were prior to getting pregnant...I would wait until after then go see your doctor and talk to him/her about what you can do to shrink it..You shouldn't be ashamed that you gained weight while pregnant it is completely normal banded or not banded..I hope everything works out and you get back on the track you want to be on and you have a wonderful birth...congrats on your pregnancy!!

    Pregnant with Lap-band

I am almost 10 weeks and got an unfill. I had already gained 7-13 lbs. maybe more. I started freaking out having anxiety attacks about how much weight I am gaining. I am getting big fast. I was 170 lbs I had lost 80lbs total 2 years post opt, and I hadnt been that small since I was a kid. I shopped all the time and love all the clothes and my size. I was finally a 10-12 I'm 5"8". We have been married 4 years so I guess it's time. Anyways, I am reading now and I see all these comments about how others didnt get a complete unfil. I kinda wish I didn't get it all unfilled. I was just so hungry before my unfil. I hope I can lose it all. I understand how how you feel about gaining the weight. I already finding my pants not closing.

    Still Going....

:faint: I just read my last post and I'm exactly the same weight 257. But I guess that's not too bad because I had gained more weight in the meantime. I just had my first fill yesterday. Dr. Aguila wanted to just do 1 cc but I asked for a little more. He said I should be able to fill the restriction but I really cant yet. Of course, I'm still on liquid. I need to start exercising. That's the key and we are coming up to the best part of the year in Florida. I go to LV in 6 days. I'm hoping to lose 5 lbs before I go. I ordered some clothes from Lane Bryant and Old Navy (shirt size 14-16, pant size 22). My boobs have gotten smaller. Woo Hoo! Anyway, I hope the new clothes get here before I go to NV. I go to IL at the end of the month and really hope I'm in a smaller size by then. I'll only be there for one night but I'm hoping I'll get to see Garry from IIA. Or maybe I shouldn't. I'm sure I'll be there again and that would give me more time to lose weight. I just ready to lose it! I'm really happy that I got the surgery. Even with the 13-15 lbs that I've lost. I feel so much better. I just can't wait. I'm so impatient. Anyway, it's end of the month and work is stressful. I have to go enter remaining principal into my spreadsheet.

    I am now banded

It's been years ago, but I once had a guy dump me after I lost a lot of weight.. His reasoning was that I looked so good now that soon all the guys would be after me and he couldn't handle it... It was a horrible event in my life.... and of course I started eating again... that night.... Don't let this guy get to you.. If he was the one, this wouldn't phase him... He would continue on supporting and loving you.. There is someone better waiting out there for you.. There was for me!!!!!! My husband would do anything for me and loves me fat or skinny, but wants only for me to be happy... Take care and keep your head up....high.... Julie

these threads always are strange to me. After being significantly overwight my whole life my brain cannot process the concept of loosing too much weight or being too skinny

(advice I need to take to heart) I was just at the dr and they said everything was fine, they are happy w where I am!

    Plateau

My NUTs biggest concern right now was my vitamin levels were absurdly low hopefully once I'm back on track she'll talk to me about weight loss again lol.

None of us lose weight at a constant or steady rate. Stalls (or plateaus) are a normal, natural, and necessary part of the process of losing weight. Since you have been in a stall for two months have you talked to your NUT? Are you: Following your program; Tracking your food; Eating slowly and chewing thoroughly; Getting in all of your Protein and fluids every day; Taking your Vitamins and supplements as directed; Avoiding starches and added sugars; and Exercising? Embrace the Stall http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351046-Embrace-the-Stall
  12. The first couple of days after surgery are a bit fuzzy, but that is to be expected. I tried to ween myself off the pain meds fairly quickly. Now, I only use them at night, if needed to help go to sleep. I haven't used them for the last couple nights. My new stomach and I are still trying to negotiate terms, and each day is spent trying to figure out what things we do and do not like. The only major hiccup I have had in this process is that I woke up this past Thursday night/Friday morning about 3:30am screaming in pain. It was an excruciating pain on the upper-right part of the abs, just under the rib cage. I suspected it was a gallbladder thing. I contacted the doc as soon as his office opened in the morning, and they had me come in for an exam. The doc seems to think it had something to do with gallbladder too. He sent me to get tested and have an ultrasound done of the area. By about 2pm in the afternoon, the pain left about as quickly as it came... and I was able to relax enough to fall back to sleep. Something positive that came out of the doc visit is to see that I dropped almost 10 lbs since surgery. All together, I have lost like 47 lbs, I can hardly believe it. I'm almost at the 50 lbs mark since last spring. How is that even possible? I've never been this successful at losing weight... and most of that weight came off pre-op! So, as I've approached (and maybe even hit) the 50 lbs mark, something I've noticed about my morning/evening walks with the dog is that I feel phenomenal. I mean, as I walk, it feels like there is less gravitational pull on my body... almost like what I would imagine walking across the surface of the moon would be like. I walk faster, the pressure that used to be on my knees and lower back is gone... and my clothing is hanging on me... making it feel like I'm flowing as I walk. I know that people still seen the 300+ lbs version of me, but that version of me is becoming less by the day. I still have a long way to go before I hit my goal. However, with as fit and energetic as I feel at the moment, I see myself more as the person who has already hit that goal. I hope I can continue on this strong in the coming months as winter approaches.

    Magical Mexican Broth

Dorrie, I see I have similar stats to you before surgery. May I ask how much weight you lost in the first 90 days?
  15. When I first told my very close friend I was thinking about getting the sleeve she called me a "cheater", said I was taking the easy way out.( she herself is struggling with her weight) Because of that statement I was on the fence about surgery for 6 months. When I decided to get the surgery I didn't tell her until 3 days before. ( I was trying to stay in a positive frame of mind.) By NO means did I take the easy way out. This journey has been the toughest yet, with the recovery, chronic constipation, making sure I'm drinking, getting my protein and my vitamins. Now it seems like every time I talk to her she is trying to sabotage my progress. I love her to death, but her negativity is a real downer. Without being rude, how do you deal with negative people? I'd like to addi had no health issues before surgery, I was just tired of being fat and tired.
  16. I had bad soreness for about a week in my left arm and shoulder. Apparently gas. My abdomen was swollen and discolored. I was on IVs for 3 days so am sure I gained weight but I have no scales. I am 2 weeks out now and that has all gone away. Just still incision soreness. As for sleeping, I have to sleep on my back which is no fun so I take a pain med at bed time to help me sleep. Hope I'll be able to sleep more comfortably soon.
  17. Hey all! Today marks week 4 post op for me and I am 25 pounds down! YAY! This means I am 1/4 of the way to my goal weight. Super exciting for me. I do have a question tho...I have not started exercising yet for several reasons one of which being I am not sure what I am released to be doing?? Anyone know?? Most likely I am going to start off with power walking but I don't want to do anything to mess with my healing either. Just curious when you all started your exercise routines and what they consist of.

    8Th Fill And Nothing

I'm at 10cc and I feel some restriction but I am not losing any weight infact I've gained a few pounds so I feel you.
  19. I'm 3.5 years out from gastric sleeve surgery and got below my goal but in the last two years have put on about 15 lbs. I need to lose 10 to get back to goal. My problem is that I started drinking. I'm so ashamed and feel so guilty. I did so good and was doing everything right. Now im afraid that I won't be able to lose the weight. I know I need to stop drinking but it's been hard because a lot of the people I hang out with drinks including my husband. Excuses I know. When I don't drink I get asked every time why I'm not drinking. I see that this is not uncommon but I'm actually putting myself out there and admitting I have a problem. Any words of encouragement?

    Scale issue..

That's a good idea about weighing the dumbbells! If you can, stick with one scale... even if your weight isn't accurate at least the difference from the week before will be

  25. I honestly feel like I am going to fail at this continuously.. you are not alone. I think it's because as a former obese person ( i love saying that) I failed at every diet I ever tried. I would lose then gain gain gain. This is different than a diet and I know you are going to be soooo successful! I am so glad you were able to get out of your funk.
