    Friday Weigh Ins

273.2 for me That is 2 1/2 weeks now the scale has hardley moved. I have had a bit of a NSV, was a size 28 jeans,I went to Walmart and bought 2 pairs of jeans one a size 26 and the other size 24. The Size 26 fit good but a bit big in the waist, The size 24's fit and I can zip them without lying on the bed but just a bit to tight in the waist. Quess that means I am a size 25 *G*.
  2. Hurray for the NSV @Newme17. Sometimes when you give kids healthy choices they surprise us. Kudos to your daughter. My grandson loves fruit so I try to always have some in the house. i really need to get my eye brows done and my roots are really looking gray.

    March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD

Hi to everyone. Got back from Florida from vacation and was anxious to get on my home scale this a.m. -- I stayed off the scale on vacation because I didn't want to let it run my life.... AND....drum roll now! I lost 4.8 lbs on vacation from where I was on June 13th when I left to today! Go Shrinking Shamrocks Go!!:biggrin::biggrin: <--- 4 smilies for 40 lbs! AND second NSV... I was able to buckle a seat belt without an extension on the flights from Columbus to Charlotte, NC on an Embraer jet that only had 2 seats on each side but I needed about 4" of the extension belt still (darn!) on the 737 jet that went from Charlotte to Florida. Can't wait until I can buckle the airplane seat belt regardless of which plane I fly on but that was such a nice feeling. I've updated my ticker and officially crossed the 40 lbs lost milestone as of today. About 3.5 months since surgery 3/17/08 to lose 40 lbs is fantastic for me. P.S. Yes, I too now know what sliming and productive burping is. Nothing terrible but I definitely have a different level of restriction with this 2nd fill and if I push it and eat a few bites past my limit, I have that pressure sensation, want to get rid of it, and have excused myself once in a restaurant to be sure I was okay. I know now to just leave the food on the plate and let it to away and try not to feel guilty that my family or friend paid for a dinner and I can only eat maybe 1/3 of it. That's what got me, trying to eat a Thai dinner of chicken and vegetables, I didn't even look at the cup of white rice that came with the meal, and I just had to let 2/3 of it go to waste. I had warned them I couldn't eat much so they knew it wasn't that I didn't like the restaurant's food they chose to go to but I just was full. I really missed checking into the forum but it was a good vacation and now its good to be back to sleeping in my own bed and with my own pillow!
  4. Since being banded I have discovered that I love cycling. I commute to work twice a week, 60km round trip, and recently bought my first road bike. Two days after my purchase, a work colleague passed away as a result of cancer. His last weeks at home were made possible by the wonderful support of our local palliative care service. So when I heard that there was a bike ride to raise funds for this great service, I was very quick to sign up, along with my husband. We're not sure what possessed us, but for some crazy reason we signed up for the 120km ride (about 75 miles, I believe)! Husband also bought a road bike and with just a few weeks, we really ramped up the training on them. We both have hybrids and have done plenty of riding, but road bikes are a whole new ball game. Between buying our bikes and today's ride, we have had to learn how to ride road bikes, tried several saddles and worked hard to get some kilometres under our belts. We set off at 8am this morning with the slow 120km riders. There were later start times for the fast 120km, slow and fast 60km riders. The sun shone beautifully all day as we made our way around the first 60km circuit. We quickly fell behind most of the other riders, primarily because my husband still isn't confident going downhill. Initially I was a bit unhappy at such a slow pace (we had agreed to ride together so we could support each other the whole way). I made sure I was drinking regularly, eating frequently, including bananas and cycling power gels. We also got in a nice coffee at the half way mark! Many of the slow 120km group was still at the half way mark when we arrived and the organisers encouraged us all to start our second circuit with the fast 60km group. I'm pleased to say that husband and I held our ground well with this group of fresh riders right up until we had to come down a big hill and again, my husband slowed right down. Although I was initially annoyed by having to slow down to stay with my husband, I quickly realised that he was, in fact, doing me a huge favor, because it meant we were able to pace ourselves and reach the end. Without him, I would almost certainly have gone out too hard and burned out before reaching the end. The last 10km were a bit of a struggle but the exhileration and sense of achievement as we rode across the finish line together was incredible. And we had played our small part in a great event which raised more than $25,000 for our local palliative care service. 18 months ago I struggled to ride five kilometres around town. Now, minus 63kg and with a whole lot more confidence and fitness, the sky is the limit! Pic is of me immediately after we finished.

puppy news - thank goodness your lanlord is being realistic, good luck on your vet documentation. I am with everyone else. our doggies our our family as much as any 2 legged variety of family member :biggrin2: Fenton - yippee 6". that is truly a NSV. btw have you bought a new belt yet. With losses like this you definitely need to replace the one you retired last week and you induldged and then walked it off.... that is a good trade off in my logic. I ate out yesterday at a chinese food buffet......I did fairly well, small portions of the meat and veggie dishes, stayed away from the dessert bar, except for some fresh cantelope. no egg rolls, some sauteed mushroomsand a few pieces of fried scallop and shrimp.. After counting it all out on MyDailyPlate, it was not much damage. My damage was going to the new Hollywood Casino in Harrisburg afterwards and dropping over $100 to those slot machines... but I did get walking in also, that place is huge.

    Where are the 50s ???

Checking in with the Fabulous 50's...I'm really happy today. I hit the 70 pound loss mark. 40 pounds to go. Surgery was May 3. I had to go out and buy new clothes this weekend because I have a couple of week long business trips coming up in colder climates and there is nothing in my closet that fit! My most recent NSV is that I can now fit in Chico's clothing! And not even their largest size! The sales associate had to keep bringing me smaller sizes. It felt awesome. And, bonus, This was the Outlet store that had tons of sales!!!

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

Today's NSV- Just got on a ride a six flags with my son!! I haven't been able to do that in years!!
  9. I think my Ah Ha NSV moment came back about a year and a half ago when I could buy cheap $8 pack of underwear from Walmart. I knew then that I was now officially out of the Big & Tall stores only when it came to shopping for clothes. Now I am in suites, something that I think I wore maybe three times in almost 20 years, I've worn at least five times this year alone and we're aren't even in month number five yet out of the year. I have two custom tailored suites now, I hope by the end of the year I'll have at least five more to give me a suite for every day of the week. My next few NSV, which I am sure I can do now: Is to buy a complete from head to toe outfit from American Eagle or Abercrombie and Fitch. Outdoor Bike Trail Riding for 10 to 15 miles Do a photo-shoot. (Both clothing and nude photo-shoots. I have a bunch of photographer friends that will gladly do glamor shots of me) Actually attempt to do a 5K run. (Maybe in the fall)

Only 3 more days in my casual office. A great NSV for me today. Size 28 Levi skinny jeans. I wore these 6 years ago when I was at my lowest before my gain. I went shopping in my to small Jeans tub and all of them fit. Have a great day ladies.

    OOTD

I have my performance review today and decided to dress professionally. And I figured out why my selfies here were so bad - I was standing too far back from the mirror and it was goofing up the perspective. I used to have to stand that far to fit into the mirror. NSV!
  13. Had a possibly TMI NSV yesterday.. I am basically blind without my glasses, I need things to be within 6 inches or so to see clearly so shaving my legs has been pretty hit or miss (mostly miss) for many years.. Yesterday I was able to bend over and actually see what I was doing I was pretty proud. Other NSVs From size 4x tshirt to L, size 28 pants to a tight 16/loose 18. It's pretty amazing... I stole my oldest daughter's shirt the other day.. (don't tell her

Am having friends over for drinks on the deck tonight. No worries about mosquitoes here at the moment so you’d be safe @GreenTealael but frost bite is a distinct possibility. Brrrr. Not an OOTD, more a NSV I wanted to share. Yesterday I was putting on some opaque tights & I realised I was standing & bending over to put them on. I used to have to sit down & physically lift one leg up & place it over the other just to pull one leg on. Happy dance.

    Hooray! NSV

So I've been able to fit into some smaller size clothes, even if I can't fit into something of the same size by a different maker. am I making sense? For example, I have jeans in sizes 12 - 16 that fit, but yet I have a pair of size 14 pants that still don't fit. ...but the reason why I'm adding this NSV, is that I'm wearing a pair, sized large, of Victoria's Secret sleeping pants. I just am excited that I'm wearing something smaller that is from Victoria's Secret.
  16. Had my 3rd fill today ladies. I'm actually sitting here (FREEZING!) in the Denver airport right now waiting on my flight back to the MUCH WARMER East Coast. My fill today was 1.05cc (strange amount, I know) bringing me to a total of 5.25cc in a 10cc band. I can't tell a difference right now, but I've been in such a bad mood lately about my mediocre weight loss. I mean, I am not even recognizing a huge NSV for me this week. I went to San Diego this week before my Denver trip to visit my best friend, and while there, I went to Lane Bryant shopping and I bought a pair of jeans that was one size smaller than the ones I was wearing - and they fit! I should be happy about this right? Wrong! :cursing: Instead, all I can obsess about is the fact that I've only lost 18lbs in a little more than 3 months and I feel like the biggest failure on the freaking planet. I'm not eating right, I'm not exercising, it's my own damn fault and I still can't manage to do a damn thing to help myself out! You get out of it what you put into it, and all I'm doing is shoving the wrong things in my mouth and sitting on my fat arse! :frown::cursing: *sigh* OK, sorry I just had to vent. :frown:

I am with you there Barbara about the clothes, yesterday for work I changed 7 times because everything I pulled out was too big, it was frustrating but a nice frustration. I am going to the Women of faith conference this weekend so I went shopping last night. And here is the NSV.... I shopped in the misses section. Now I am big on top and never would have thought I could shop there, I was able to wear an XL in misses, the clothes there are MUCH cuter and I was sooo happy! And I was ablt to buy size 16 dress pants (no elastic), was in a 24 just 4 months ago. I love this band!!!!!!! Have a great time at the luncheon!!!!

My pants got longer, too. It must be the weight loss in thighs and butt. If you think about it that makes sense. OK, so NSV for me...DH took me shopping for new clothes for my B-day. I tried a 12 first...way too big, then 10...still too big, finally size 8 fit!! I am in single digits! Remember, I am only 5 ft., so I am still not all the way there but 1/2 way feels pretty good.

    Who Are You?

I am 45, have three kids, 26, 15, 12. Married to my second husband since 2006. He is the only one I count. I have a BFA in fine art and a BA in ceramics. So of course I am an accountant, lol. I groomed dogs for many years until my wrists gave up. Sucks because I was really good at it. I now have three dogs we show in rally and obedience. I miss my clay and my studio. I do a lot of crafty stuff to fill the gap so if you need a crochet hat I am your girl. It is something that bothers me a lot and a big NSV I want is to re establish my studio and be an artist again even if it's only weekends. Having surgery November 12. It's taken since April to get here. Just so many obstacles. My husband is awesome. I am not worried about his support. He is paying for surgery and a few years ago I lost down to 145 on medifast but it came back. He loves me fit or fluffy thank god. He had prostate cancer surgery in February. All is well health wise but intimacy is not a go at this time. Still healing. Makes me sad, but I know we will get there together and the cancer is gone which gives us the time to do so. So I am a wife, a mom, a puppy caretaker and I try to be a really good person. Hoping for my health to return quickly. I am tired of dragging this weight around. Best wishes to all! Vicki
  20. Maybe there is a place and I haven't found it, but I would like a spot to go to find the definitions of all the abbreviations used. What is lol, nsv, pb's, etc. As a new person, it can be very frustrating and you feel stupid not knowing.

Gone for Good Club - August 2006

NSV- Went to the store today, saw a cute outfit, they had size 16 and size 12....it was an outfit I could see wearing more this winter, so I bought the 12's thinking, hey this is a great way to get me losing weight so I can fit into this outfit. Got home, boyfriend wanted to see me in the outfit, I say no, its a size smaller than what I can wear. He says, just try it....so I do, and it fits!! Hardly no fat roll on top of the capris and the top looked great. WOW....made me happy happy!

Gone for Good Club - August 2006

Congrats all, have a great weekend, P'nut and Dawg... the Dawgster will be fine! For an NSV, I'm gonna go clothes shopping this weekend. I'm down to a Large shirt (from xxxl), and 36 pants (from 58), so I need some NEW CLOTHES! I'm getting pretty close to goal, and doubt my shirt size will decrease, and may at most go down one more pants size, so this time I can buy some REAL clothes, not discount stuff to keep the price low during transition. Wish me luck, shopping at REGULAR stores... no more big men's shops for me! BTW, isn't Mo doing great without a band! Heck, she'd be doing great if she had one too, but it takes a lot extra without, and she is setting an example for all of us banded folks... it is all about discipline and hard work!

    June 2006 Band Crew

I was thinking today how much more control I have over food than in the past. Pain is part of it, being too tight to eat, but something else keeps me from downing pudding cups, shakes and ice cream by the gallon. I suppose it's because I no longer get a "boost" from food. Getting another fill when I'm on and off again "tight" seems a little crazy. Dumber yet would be to ignore the advantages of a smaller appetite that the fills usually bring. Will Thanksgiving and upcoming holidays spell disaster for us? Let's begin posting "Holiday NSV's". My first Holiday NSV came today. I'm looking forward to rolling into bed Thanksgiving evening with an empty pouch and a nice bottle of water on the nightstand. It's hard to fall asleep stuffed to the gills.

    June 2006 Band Crew

Barbara465, Hope you are better by now. I am feeling restriction in spurts. Maybe new fills take time to "get even" all the way around the band? Maybe your margarita loosened the band. Maybe the fun of the luncheon tightened your band (there is good tension too). When I am out with others, I always drink a hot drink before I eat anything. I haven't had a bad spell since doing that. (Hot tea is such a treat for me) I'm still struggling with my back, but the l.5 pounds I lost on Wednesday are still gone so that's a big NSV.
