Karri I have pb'd a few times- heck yesterday after a sallow of water I was sliming - one good thing is that my eyes aren't swollen in the morning.. After I pb i usually don't try again for a while - got up mid of nite and ate top of cup cake - 3/4 of it i think - then i said stupid you are tight you are now going to get sick - but thank God I didn't - Biggest Loser - I tivo'd it watched a tad this morning - I don't like the yellow team cuz they voted off the pink team and I related to the mom  - they were working hard - but stopped when they were about to pick the new teams - will watch tonite - Oh ya my fav show Lost is coming back - can't wait. Thanks for pouting with me  - but you know like I always say - It' not about the food - gotta pratice with I preach... My Son finally showed up and brought me a nice card - that's something I did right with him - he does look and read cards and picks the best one for the person... He always gets me cards that are meaningfull and makes me cry... I am such a big sentimental baby... Thanks Marcy - I think I would like the sauage too - Seal Meat what does that taste like - and don't say chicken - Don't think I would want to eat seal - but heck I am the kind of person who would try anything once. Congrats on the NSV a regular towel :frown:- and how sweet your hubby is for kissing you in public... Well gang I'm at work - better get started - trying these glasses - I think I wasted my $$ - may just have to get some for reading and computer - or heck maybe I will try the mono vision contact... Ck with ya'll later
  2. CONGRATS TRACYK!!!!!!!! LOL.. I remember that line :frown: Laura: AWESOME on the tax return! (I'm skeered about mine since I have to file married now) plus I claim high exemptions all year so that I keep my money. Jenn: LOL funny NSV! Good luck tomorrow! Suzie: I will TRY to get in 3 liters today... Haydee & Terry: Confession is good for the soul!!!!! Michelle: I don't know HOW you are keeping the secret!!!!!! Strong Strong woman! Judy: We are set for another winter storm tomorrow!!!!!!!!! BTW great job on the ebay outfit fitting!!!! woot woot! Kat: How are you today? Who am I missing??????? OK............. I STAYED ON PLAN!!!!!!!!!!!! I did make some instant taters to go with the DELISH crock pot concoction.. (its my lunch too) but I stuck to 3 meals yesterday and NO Snacks...... and nothing touched my lips after 7:00p.m. my stomach was growling and by 10:00p.m. I was getting the whoosy hunger pains that used to attack me pre-band... but I was strong and stayed OUT OF THE KITCHEN.... scale bounced back down to 197 so...... my next little mini goal is 192 which will be -80 lbs. Have a great day!!!!!!!!!!
  3. Had the most fun potluck tonight. The theme was "game meat". Now, don't get me wrong here, I usually don't like game meat all that much...I've learned to prepare moose well enough that you really can't tell...anyhoo....you all know that I've had some issues eating meat (it easily gets stuck) so I was a little leary of the fair so I brought some spaghetti with moose-meat sauce because I know I can eat THAT. Here is what else was offered - and went down well! Sweet and sour Musk Ox (that meat really was GOOD!) Baked salmon (now, you KNOW that was good) Moose meat balls Seal meat on rice (quite "gamy", but the texture was fantastic) Sauted goose meat with onions Dried salmon strips (my kids love these) Lots of moose salami-type stuff Tundra berries with sweetened condensed milk (blueberries, cranberries, salmonberries, etc.) My FAVORITE is a moose-sausage stuffed with olives and jalapenos - I usually hate jalapenos, but this is sooooo good! It was fun to try all these new things (and there were SEVERAL more dishes that I didn't mention - these people really know how to do a pot luck I tell ya!) Iditarod is coming...time to visit folks! NSV: I wrapped a REGULAR towel around myself today...not a bath sheet!

Janet - Sorry I'm late....time difference here ya know! HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Yes, I'm here at the party! Brought all sorts of things (leftovers from a potluck that we had tonight - the theme was "game meat"). So we have: Sweet and Sour Musk Ox (was WAY good!) Moose meat spaghetti (that was me) Dried fish strips (my kid loves 'em) Seal meat chunks over rice (not the favorite, but gotta try it once) Sauted goose meat with onions (pretty good) Moose steaks Baked salmon Tundra berries (blueberries, salmonberries, cranberries with sweetened condensed milk - YUM!) Blueberry pie And my favorite: moose sausage stuffed with olives and jalapenos!!! Funny...meat usually gets stuck on me and I didn't have trouble with anything tonight! YUMMY food (even for game meat!) NSV: I wrapped a REGULAR towel around myself after a shower today! I usually use a "bath sheet"...and Andrew was holding me close tonight at the potluck and said that I was getting smaller. Nice completment...AND he kissed me in front of everyone (this is big...he thinks that since he's the Sergeant he shouldn't do those things in front of his peers and underlings). Anyway, hope you had a great day Janet!!!
  5. I'm giong to bed... just have to tell you all my NSV today, it is kind of funny. I was meeting my mom at the grocery store... I still don't know why but I did, so she is shopping away and i was walking up to her, made serious eye contact and she turned around and walked away WTF??? so I yelled JAN... she turns around - looked right at me and started to turn around again.. she said OMG you are so tiny, I didn't even know it was you... then she waked right by me at the register... are you kidding me... my own mom didn't know me!
  6. DANG OL NASTY CARB LADEN BALLS OF FIRE!!!!!!!!! They are full of ecoli!!!! Someone used SALT instead of sugar! DO WHATEVER YOU HAVE TO DO TO STAY AWAY FROM THEM! Whoooooooohoooooooo Michelle! NSV alert! OK.. gotta go 2 liters of water and ON PLAN....
  7. I went to the store yesterday to get a pair jeans. I bought a pair from the "normal" department. Not the PLUS department, and they fit!!!! Mind they are a size 16 but not from the plus department. I was so excited as I have not shopped in the misses department since early highschool years. I also tried on my wedding dress from 7 years ago (second time around for DH and myself) and it is swimming on me! DH and I had both busted out laughing! I love my band!

NSV I was walking down the hall just now to get some hot peppermint tea and I walked past this nurse I don't see very often...and she turned around and yelled skinny minny! How cool is that. I feel like a fat blob this morning...but someone called me skinny minny! I needed that! Weazer

  10. Oh! I almost forgot to tell you gals, I had my first NSV the other night when I floated to SICU at the other hospital. One of the nurses that hadn't seen me in awhile walked into the unit and said "Oh my God, you have lost so much weight!" Hey, I've only lost 20 pounds, but it sure did make me feel good that people that don't know I was banded have started to notice!:tt1:

starting BMI over 50? come on in!

Well I had to get on a plane this past weekend. I was dreading being in that coach seat and having to request the seat belt extender. To my surprise...no seat belt extender required. Now I have to say that at my current weight this was a surprise because I have weighed less and needed the seat belt extender (seems my trainer knows what he is doing). I am so glad for this, another of my NSV goals I can check off the list.:tt1: Thanks for reading, Mary

[quote name=salsa1877;703816 I even fit into the pair of size 8s that she gave me' date=' but again it is the top roll. I have got to find something that will take it away. I I look alright when I am fully dressed, but naked :eek: it is not a pretty sight. Janet - as for the food, you may be like I am right now where mornings are tough to eat anything and then you open up at night. I am still not where I would like to be optimally, but I am doing alright. I am getting to 1000 calories now so that is good for me. I have been battling a lot of head hunger this weekend but I think that was because I was sad. However, I did relatively well and when I went to the store specifically to get something for dessert...I got fresh melon instead of cheesecake which is what I really wanted. It turned out that the fruit was just as good and took care of my craving. Good NSV for me! Later![/quote] Karri I usually lipo in a box (yes google it it's real) - high waisted spanxs type underwear - we use to call them gridles in the old days - they come up undernearth your bra and help with the tummy roll and back fat - I think they cut pants too tight around the waist some times. I understand the dress vs naked Fill has loosend a tad - but I hate being this tight - had broth for lunch tried to eat a turkey meat ball and can't - I have a tad heartburn and I don't like that... I can't live on soups... I am a little pissed that I can't get in til Weds - he does fills on that day - Mon & Tues surgery days - but heck - it takes me 3 hrs to drink a small water bottle. and I don't think heart burn is a good sign.. What were you sad about?? Your Dad & his son issues - or that BF hrs are changing.. sadness is one of those buttons to eat... Well back to work = started this and hour ago - but the phone keeps ringing..

It still amazes me that I can get in a size 12! I am pretty sure that the last time that I was a size 12 it was size 12mo when I was an baby:tongue:! I can't fit in all size 12s, but I can feel that the ones that I am wearing are starting to get a little looser. Maybe I can fit in all of them now, but a month ago I couldn't. It still is that dang top roll that is killing me. My brother's girlfriend gave me some of her old clothes that don't fit her any more as she is now a size 4, but the cut just isn't right for me. She gave me a pair of size 9 jeans, but they are so low waisted that my top roll sticks out like a sore thumb. The jeans fit and my BF liked what they did for my butt, however I don't think I could find a shirt that I would be comfortable wearing with them. Besides, I would have to get new underwear to wear with these. They are very low rise! I even fit into the pair of size 8s that she gave me, but again it is the top roll. I have got to find something that will take it away. I have not even contimplated plastic surgery as I just don't think that there is anyway that I would ever be able to afford it (especially until my surgery is paid off), but I don't know that this top roll is ever going to go away. Also, my breasts are getting really bad and I am only 28. I look alright when I am fully dressed, but naked :eek: it is not a pretty sight. Janet - as for the food, you may be like I am right now where mornings are tough to eat anything and then you open up at night. I am still not where I would like to be optimally, but I am doing alright. I am getting to 1000 calories now so that is good for me. However, I did relatively well and when I went to the store specifically to get something for dessert...I got fresh melon instead of cheesecake which is what I really wanted. It turned out that the fruit was just as good and took care of my craving. Good NSV for me! Well we are on a 2 hour delay here so my lunch time has been way off, so I am completely out of whack! But I have to get my portfolio's together for my evaluation so I should probably get that done. Later!
  14. Good Morning, Violets... Finally a chance to get to this board and find out what's up. I've been up for a couple of hours already, but doing all sorts of other stuff. The mail came in and I got a dress I won on ebay. It's BEAUTIFUL... all black with a jacket and lots of glittery black beads. It's for the formal nights on our cruises. It's a size 14/16 so I figured if it didn't fit for the Feb. cruise it certainly would for the June one. BUT.. NSV!! It fits!! The nicest part was seeing the look on the Bobster's face when I modeled it for him. He was so thrilled. Now THAT'S a nsv!! Denise, you have gotten some great advice from those who have been through it before. I can only offer prayers for you and your daughter and the baby, but know they are from the heart and I am of the belief that they carry lots of power. Just add the prayers to the advice and hopefully things will turn out for the best for your daughter. Jennifer.. lots and lots of Purple Power going your way on Thursday for the job interview. My mantra has always been, "if it's meant to be, it WILL be". Pam, Pam Bo Bam..... for heaven's sake girl!!! What were you think'n eating that sauce!! arghhhhhhhhh I can see I'll have my work cut out for me on the Bandiversary trip! TracyK.. my gosh, woman!! Prayers for good health to you. Hope all goes well at the doc's today. Kat....any new news on the explosion? That must have really been scary!!! MY BAD.... I forgot the tip of the day on Sunday YET AGAIN!! I'll get a couple on here today to make up for the two I missed. Just pretend it's sunday when you read them. Suzie....congrats on picking up more hours at Curves! And enjoy the hospital volunteer job. I love mine. well, gotta go get a check in the mail for a bus trip to see Wicked in July. 7 lady friends are heading out to see it. Lots to look forward to trip wise for me!! Hope the stock market cooperates. The bobster set up my mini-trampoline today. I just took a couple of bounces on it and it looks like I'm going to enjoy doing it while watching tv. Everyone have a great day!

Sherri, Keep your chin up. We are all working at an extremely difficult task. One that we thought we had all the necessary tools for but were all very naive about. This is going to be tougher than we thought but every day there will be something new for us revel in. Keep looking for them when you feel like you aren't making progress. We are looking forward to hear all of your nsv's

    NSV's for the Merry Losers

Firstly I want to let each and every one of you know you are an inspiration, I can relate to the comments of you look good, did you cut your hair and a slip up or pig out not being what it used to be (thankfully). Looking at the progress of others I seem to be creeping along on my weight loss and I need to keep looking at my NSV's. I consider it a blessing every time I feel full and have to stop eating. I don't remember feeling full in the last 10 years. I was usually hungry and sometimes sick from eating too much. A big one for me (NSV) is when I fit into a pair of 24 pants and they were not even tight (they were very tight when I bought them). Since I was up to a 28/30 pant before beginning this journey i consider that a big victory. Yay!

I've had a couple of clothing-related NSVs this week. I bought a skirt online last summer that was too snug when I got it. After reading about people waiting too long to try on their smaller sizes, I decided I better give it a try. The waistband was three inches too big! I had to pin it! Also, today I put on some true size 16 jeans -- not 16W -- and they fit great! When I started this, I was wearing 18W or size 20 -- and they were snug. So I believe I've lost at least two sizes. My SV for this week is that I lost four pounds! That's my biggest loss since the first week after surgery. Do you think my last fill made a difference?

Suzie - You are doing great, girl. Keep up the great work and don't listen to the bad girlz on here! :frown: Congrats on the NSV yesterday! That should keep you going for about a week or two! Haven't had one of those myself in a loooooong time. Jenn- Congrats to you, too, for getting back on track so well. You've got some great carrots dangling in front of you now....DON'T BLOW IT! :hurray: Youre almost there!!! Pammy-head - (like that, eh?) Ya'll have a great time at Garth!! You're sweet to ask your neighbor...I'm sure he really appreciates it! Must just be his lucky day! Susanne must have really hurt her back to miss this concert! What happened? Laura - my DH walked by while I was looking at your picture and said, "WOW! Who's that? She's cute!!!" He was very, very impressed with your B&A's (but I had the undie pics scrolled out of view at the time, don't worry). We're both so proud of you!!! I had major ex-husband stress last night and ever since I can hardly eat anything. I had been doing so well, too....even enjoying chicken several times in the last few days! Last night I had 3 bites of leftover Chinese chicken and veggies and PB'd for an hour. Now I'm having same problem with a bit of peanut butter. That man needs to be medicated!! Sooooo glad I don't live with that crap anymore. Today we're finishing up packing, moving and storing Mom's apartment. DH is on his way over there with the truck and I'll join them later after I pick up my son from taking the SAT (again). Speaking of my son.... I feel so bad for him. Before he was diagnosed and medicated he was virtually flunking out of school....his sophmore and junior years were a disaster. Well, now he's on the honor roll even though he's taking heavy courses!! The bad thing is that his GPA is shit and his class ranking is shit and his first SAT was 975. He is stressng out so bad and kicking himself SO hard for not buckling down and trying harder in his early HS years...that now his options are so limited. And his DAD is putting so much pressure on him ...it's just ridiculous. The whole thing is so f'd up. Poor Evan. Such a sweet kid and good in every other way. I see some major battles coming up between his dad and me over all this stuff. I wish he'd just disappear....but leave the college fund!! Well, I need to get motivated.... ya'll have a great day! XOXOXO

    Confused - Discouraged

Hang in there and and watch for NSV's. When you are being 'good' and the scale isn't showing it , just be patient. Add in exercise to speed things up. Be sure to keep yourself hydrated and believe it will work. Good luck!

You all have some great NSV's!!! I have already ditched my C-PAP machine! My husband says I don't snore anymore (although he still snores like a freight train) and I've been sleeping better. So, I guess that's an NSV for me!

    NSV's for the Merry Losers

This is a really odd NSV but bear with me, coz it makes sense to me and it ends up being a good thing! Yesterday I had the crappiest day I'd had in a long time (nothing to do with the band). Everything that could go wrong did go wrong and by the evening I was thoroughly pissed off with the world. I won't go into details but believe me, it was a ROTTEN day! As a result, I fell off the wagon completely - but the manner in which I fell IS the NSV. I was grumpy and annoyed and so had a couple of scotches with Water to try to pick my mood up. Since the banding, I can only handle a couple at a time, whereas previously I would have knocked off half the bottle (and sometimes all of it! :hurray:) over the course of the evening. I got quite tipsy and immediately lost all self-control in regards to eating and settled in to have a major pigout and pity party all by myself :frown:. Naturally, in that bad mood, I hadn't bothered to fix myself a proper dinner, so when the self-restraint fled, I grabbed what I could from the fridge. My pigout for the evening was a whole packet of Sweet Chilli & Sour Cream Rice Crackers (420 cal, 6.9g Protein, 7.4g fat) and an entire container of Chilli Crab & Spring Onion layered dip (270 cal, 9g protein, 21g fat) AND TWO Dessert Creme Caramels (200 cal, 6.8 protein, 4.4g fat each), for a grand total of 1090 cals, 91g protein, 37g fat! Not a good result, right? Wayyyyyy too much for a diet!! HOWEVER, the NSV part comes in that it WASN'T an entire meat lovers pizza with all the toppings (2880 cal, 112g protein, 168g fat) or a Double Quarter Pounder with cheese and a large fries (1300 cal, 54g protein, 74g fat), which is what it would have been pre-band days. Not only that but this morning I can acknowledge that what I did was stupid but I have no desire to say "Stuff it all, I give up!! I quit!! Gimme another Big Mac and Fries today!" I'm getting right back on that wagon and moving forward - and THAT is a huge NSV for me! PS: The taste delight of the crackers and dip cannot be overestimated - absolute heaven!! And if you don't go stupid like I did, and only have a normal portion - 1 row (1/4 pkg) of crackers and 1/4 of the dip, it is a very healthy and low cal snack! 155 cal, 4g protein, 7g fat.

    January Exercise Challenge

Becky - Sorry to hear about your mom. I hope she is doing better. And yes stress can make the band feel tighter. One of the nurses at my doc's office says that her band always seems to feel tighter if she is under stress. Frangi - My legs have been getting less and less sore as I continue to run on them. The day after I did my first .5 mile run I thought I was going to die, but when I got back on the treadmill, the pain just seems to melt away. So I got 2 workouts in yesterday and one in this morning. I am not convinced that I am going to make the goal I set for myself though. I am going to be crazy busy this weekend and all next week so we will see. However, even if I don't make it, I am proud of the accomplishments that I have completed this month. That is a huge NSV for me. Before the surgery I woudn't not have been happy with just improving. Before I would have felt like a total failure if I didn't meet the goal. So see this thing works on the brain too...just a little slower than it works on the waistline!
