  1. This morning I weighted myself for my 4weeks Post Op :) If you saw my post about what was going on in week 3 you have most likely have read that I had gained 1.4lbs and then my weight wasn’t moving. glad to say today I had lost that 1.4lbs and an additional 1.2lbs making this weeks lost a total of 2.6lbs :) I know I have only lost 22lbs in 4lbs and that’s amazing but I’m really excited to lose the next 48lbs to get to my first personal goal :) Weight stats: Starting HW: 270.6 PRE-Op diet starting weight: 268.3 Surgery weight: 266.8 WEEK 1: -11.6lbs Week 2: -5.4lbs Week 3: +1.4lbs Week 4: -2.6lbs Total: -22lbs My personal Goals: Goal 1: get down to 200lbs (48.6lbs to go 😊) Goal 2: get down to 180lbs Goal 3: get down to 160lbs Goal 4: get down to 135lbs NSVS: • I can go in my closet and pick any 2xl clothing and it be fitting just right or lose, and some XL fit nicely :) • I see the difference in my face and body Other updates: • Still have no appetite, still forcing myself to eat for fuel unless I go longer that 3 hours I do get this one feeling of emptiness • I can tolerate Greek yogurt (texture throws me off but I don’t mind it), tuna, 4 shredded cheese blend or mozzarella/cheese sticks, mashed beans, steamed zucchini and carrots (yay I been wanting veggies), Atkins French vanilla protein shakes, cottage cheese, reduced fat ritz crackers, scrambled eggs • can’t tolerate chocolate flavored Atkins protein shake, I get sick with nausea • my water intake is improving, getting closer and closer to 64oz

Hey All Pat... Love the pictures... I just wanted to reach in and grab that baby and lay kisses on that chubby little neck! Congrats on the NSV... we'll be needing some pictures of you in those shorts! Cindy... Love the story about the perps... I sat here giggling with the picture of them running and falling with theri baggy britches! Beanie... Glad you had fun but sorry about the Mavs! Hope you were able to get some sleep! Sherry... Bummer about the crud at work...hope it all gets ironed out soon! What a great NSV with the picture... I think you need to share with your pals here... yep... Dianne... Honestly... You just look fabulous! You were absolutely adorable before but it's like looking at a different person! WTG girl...you are an inspiration! Well... At lease there are no sick dogs today...no vet bills... and I did get my lazy butt out to work out! Heading out to walk a few dogs at the shelter... talk at ya later!

Oh Libra...be careful. You don't want that brand new band to slip. I'm so glad you feel fine now. You'll probably be able to have pizza a little later. I am so jealous of those of you with less conservative doctors than mine. He's such a stickler...two weeks of liquids b4 surgery, 4 weeks of liquids after surgery and 2 weeks of mushies. Ugh. I feel absolutely no restriction right now, either....so I'm going through the Soup pretty fast. I try so hard to eat slowly but it's not a natural thing for me (understatement of the century). I've been trying to keep my cals at about 1,000. Anyone else keeping track of their cals on Fitday or some other way? What do you guys think you're consuming cal-wise? BTW, I read some of those hateful posts on the other threads & I kept thinking to myself - "where's a thread killer when you need one?". So glad it's over and done with and really glad we have a haven of sanity right here with the ABC Club. :clap2: I had a NSV last night. I went to a fancy sit down dinner at a country club down the hill. When everyone sat down to dinner, I got in my car, came up the hill to my house, heated up soup, ate it, got back into my car and drove back to the club in time for their dessert. No one was the wiser. Pretty good, huh? I was really sweating that, and it turned out to be nothing. On top of that, I went to a huge bar b que today and stuck with my soup. Carried it around in a mug and other than drooling on a few people's hamburgers, I was fine. I can't say I didn't lust for their food, 'cause I did. I just lived through it and came out unscathed. Pretty nice feeling. Later!

Eillen, sorry you have a cold. I sure hope you feel better fast! Betty, what's wrong with your ankle/foot? Did I miss that part somewhere? Like you said, it's hard to keep up on here, especially when I'm watching the MAVS take it to the HEAT! ARe they ON or what!? Sorry Donna. Don't mean to boast. They'll be in Miami Tues and Thurs, so things may change for your team! Patty, I love your Disneyland stories! Sherry, hope your chili wasn't too intoxicating! Diane, I can see how that last trip would do you in! VBS was fun tonight...I was a helper in the music room, so I sang and danced for a couple of hours! It was fun, and the best part is that last year, there's no way I could have done it, so I guess that's a NSV! I won't be around a computer until Tuesday afternoon...after swimming lessons tomorrow we are going to my dad's. We are going to clean out some more of my mom's stuff and spend the night over there. Then on Tuesday, I have to go to school; it's an inservice day...I have one on Thursday, too. My sister's staying over at dad's too, and taking my DD to swimming. I'll check in when I can, though...I'll just never catch up with ya'll! Hugs, Cindy

Hello to all! I feel that I have been off the site for two long and this is part of success for me! Suzzie Great on the jeans. Wearing jeans and feeling good about them is so cool! Karla your NSV story with your sister was funny! I have two sisters and can relate 100% ladyhr WELCOME TO ONDERLAND!!!! Rhonda I can understand your frustration. I have been in tears all night, and maybe this is because I am going to face the music at the doctors today! I will have lost "0" weight since my last visit! But I have restriction and know that I don't need a fill. What I do need is to make the RIGHT CHOICES AND EXERCISE!! I am beginning to feel like a failure like I have felt in diets past. I feel that I am at a point that I am not on the "program". My husband told me the other day, you spent a lot of money on your "LB" get to the gym! Nice guy. I know he is trying to motivate me but that just pissed me off! He is right of course. You all tell me, I don't think I need a fill, for I have restriction with foods. some days I can hardly eat a thing, but I can still over eat the 4-6 oz, which I am never certain of the portion size I am supposed to eat when it is soup or salad? what do you think? I am sorry for wining! I just feel crappy today. Maybe the doctor visit will give me some motivation, I am hoping. I am having dinner with another LB friend that I met on the site. We both have the same doctor, so I am looking forward to that. maybe we can both provide inspiration.

Congrats Stef on the clothing! I had my own NSV with clothing yesterday. I have to go back to Nashville for another round of interviews and all my business clothes are TOO big. (I started at a 5X at Catherine's) I went in to Catherine's and pulled all 4X off the shelf to try on, since I had no idea what size I was. I was happy to find that all of them were too big! I had to go down to a 3X (22/24). When I was trying tops on I had my own pants on and realized how horrible they looked, they were a 5X and I had been wearing them all day. So I ended up buying pants as well as tops and got rid of my old ones when I got home. Today I have on zip up pants for the first time in 4 years and they aren't even tight! I know I am still HUGE, but when I look in the mirror I feel pretty good now. What a difference 73lbs makes! Only 105 more to go :-)! Dang Suzzie I am jealous, I would love to have a personal trainer to get my butt in gear! Happy Wednesday Everyone!
  9. Maybe there is a place and I haven't found it, but I would like a spot to go to find the definitions of all the abbreviations used. What is lol, nsv, pb's, etc. As a new person, it can be very frustrating and you feel stupid not knowing.

I did my weekly weigh in this morning and couldn't believe my eyes - I am down 7.4 lbs just this week!! I thought for sure I had skipped a week of recording, but when I went to my chart, it was right. It's amazing what a fill will do for you! And I was worried I ate to much tuna salad :huggie: I know I won't lose that much every week, my average has been 4.5, but it was a nice surprise. I had a teacher come in today to set up his classroom and he said "You look like you've lost some weight". I said yes - I told him what I did. I figure if the head secretary, who is quite a gossip, knows, then why try to keep a secret. He was very excited for me and said maybe we could start a Green Wing health club Tomorrow my principal is taking me to Applebee's for lunch. I was supposed to go to dinner with a teacher, but she had to cancel. I'm kinda glad because I didn't really want to eat out twice. She and I will reschedule for some time after school starts. I also had an NSV today - I wore a short-sleeved sweater that has been in my closet and untouchable. I had my DS take pictures of me today as I haven't been taking any. I figure since I'm almost to 50 lbs lost, it was a good time to take a picture.

34 inch waist NSV for me!

Tomorrow is my son's end of the year party at the lake and he volunteered me to help out. I have no shorts to wear so I asked my husband if I could try on a pair of his new 34 inch waist shorts he got at Wal Mart this weekend, they can pass for womens shorts they are just plain ol denim shorts. I was shocked and amazed to get them past my butt and hips, I did not think they would button & zip up but to my amazement they did with room to spare! Never thought I'd see the day I'd be able to wear a 34 inch waist ever again in my lifetime! So now I have shorts to wear tomorrow to the lake since we are finally getting some sun here instead of the June gloom. My husband was beaming with happiness for me when I modeled them for him.

Watched the KC Chiefs get slaughtered this afternoon. Oh well........ Light snow on the ground and much more coming - 4 to 8 inches overnight. Have consultation with trainer tomorrow to set up my plan. Knee is more comfortable when I do NOTHING. But, I can't let that stand in my way. Surgeon confirmed it is fine to work out. Chris - congrats on NSV. Arlene - I agree with Janet and Lori - one program that works for you. You are so dedicated. Nice to hear your mom realizes that it is time for assisted living Linda - sending hugs. Others have expressed how I feel too. You are a strong lady, and have faced challenges and shown love for Aylah, and will continue throughout her life - for your daughter, as well, but her demons are hers to chase away.

Good Morning Girls!!! I am sooo tired this a.m.!!! We got in really late, 12:30 this morning, couldn't go to sleep so we just sat around to unwind!! But we had a WONDERFUL time!!! And it didn't hurt my feelings that we WON!!!! 48 to 10!!! We played Missouri and we made a touchdown in the first 6 seconds!!! When we got up yesterday, it was raining but by the afternoon, the sun came out and the kids were able to play. It was sooo much fun. Oh I forgot to tell you guys, I had a NSV yesterday!!! Our seats were in the nose bleed section, last yr and this yr, last yr, I couldn't walk all the way up without stopping, couldn't breath and this yr, I made it all the way up without stopping!!! ONLY you guys can understand my small victory!!! Mereideth~~~ It was me that was talking about The Shack. I'll have to say, it is the best book I've read in a long time! I liked it because it made me think outside the box and also it will mean different things to different ppl. My 16yr old DGD is reading it right now, and she and I talk about how it can mean one thing to her and something else to me. But anyway, it is a good book. I also was able to watch a interview with the author on t.v. and that made it even better! Laura~~~ sorry to hear about your sister!! Maybe she is depressed because she is living with your parents. I know I would be, I have friend that lost almost 100 pds, on her own, and she had to move back in with her parents, and gained it all back plus some!! Oh and that's not good that they compare you two!! That just makes it worse!! I'm like you, maybe she can move out and get her life back on track!! If~~~ dittos on the DGC!!! I had a t-shirt one time that said "if I had known Grandkids were so much fun, I would have had them first!! Good for you on the slide!!! Don't you just love these little victories!!!! Well, I need to go get ready for church. I'm taking Eli to his Moms church this a.m. and it's so big they have 2 services!! I get really nervous around a lot of ppl that I don't know but it'll be o.k.! I'm just going in there and find me a seat and set down, just hope I don't take someones spot that they've sat in for 50 yrs.!!!! You know how ppl can get!! lol TTYL Sharon

Good Afternoon Gang OMG you all have been junking up the thread this morning LOL !!!! Tina - Cheri gave great advice (as usual) Yes you did let her take control - Yes you have done things in the past not to be trusted - Addicts are very manipulative pple - I know my DS was one... Oh we need tires - or spent the $$ at the casino now need food - yada yada yada.. He's sober but I don't fully trusts him cuz he has been sober before and gone back to using... Baby steps - nothing is over night - we have to work for everything... Oprah - Like Cheri's saying Take what you want and leave the rest - It just goes to show you that even pple with all the $$ in the world - chefs - gyms everything at her disposal and she still has a weight issue - Why - I understand - she does so very much for everyone else - food is what she does for her - it's her drug of choice.. I agree - sometimes she's a bit to preachy - I record her shows - but only the ones that I find interesting - I agree w/Linda - Cheri should have been on the teacher one.. I just went and found the channel on my t.v. 230 ;0) - I added it to my fav's and when channel surfing (I'm like a guy - I channel surf alot - or leave it on QVC just for the noise while on the computer) Cheri - I would assume that since you live in a big city that you would have a support group (lb) I think that's a great idea... Hugs Hugs Hugs on the wanting to self medicate w/food right now - a book isn't going to do it - it's keeping you in the house - I am glad you are going to get out.. Diets - Well as I am always saying they don't work - none of them work cuz you aren't going to follow them for the rest of your life as they are too restrictive - ya as long as you restrict your calories - any and all of them are going to work - but that's the secret restrict calories - exercise - that's the only way you are going to lose the weight - PERIOD END OF STORY... For me and my body - I have had a dessert (sf) & starch (normally only 1 serving a day) every day since 7/17/07 - I have exercised 4-5 days a week since 7/07 3.6 yrs. I restrict my calories - I exercise - I have lost 114 lbs - I have maintained that weight loss for 2.6 yrs. I over indulge at times but I get back to eating healthy and never quit exercising.. I have not dieted since day 1 - I just eat healthy low fat - limited carbs/starches/sugar.. Each of our bodies react diff to all these things (fat/sugar/starches) one plan isn't a one fits all - we have to find out what works for us (that's a lifetime livable change) and stick to it I need to make my NY resolutions about taking my Vitamins too cuz I am REALLY REALLY bad about not taking them and I think that's why I haven't been super motivated lately (energy wise).. Melissa - I thought that it was the sweetest thing that you text-ed me last night - I am sure glad you had a great time !!!! Linda- I hear you on loving GD but wanting your time - At our age I truly believe it's now about us not raising the gkids - I've been there done that but again I was only 36 when Andrew was born - and gotta say I love being an empty nester - He called last night to wish me happy new yrs ;0) Apples - You have found what works for your body - yep you are lucky to be able to eat more than most of us - but you sorta have the opposite problem than us - you have a hard time getting the calorie in - where as we have a hard time keeping them out - so you do have an issue - just diff than ours - and as to that bitch- f her ;0) I'll share the rent a car w/you - cuz I will be flying in too.. Vote is to stay outside city by Cheri's and take the train in ;0) The only thing I have to deal w/will be the dogs/cat issue.. For those who need Pedi's I bet you will find a shop open somewhere - most Vietnamese shops are open almost 24/7 365 LOL well at least here in the desert ;0) - During the winter I normally don't get them - since my feet are in closed in shoes - I just do my own - another NSV I can reach my toes ;0) - plus no one see's my feet - another plus for being single - and I don't have to shave legs every other day LOL Lori - My xdh was a handyman - I do miss that I would love under cabinet lighting... I always leave the living room light on during the night - if I had under cabinet lighting that would be my night light (my room isn't close to kitchen/living room - so it doesn't bother me - but I can see if I get up in the middle of the night to take the dogs out) Well Deb got here around 7 - we had salad lobster veggie and I had maybe 2 bites of potato (Charlene Sweet Taters are good carbs) she brought brownies had 2 small squares - she had a couple drinks - I didn't - Salt is an excellent movie !!! Really only watched the ball drop on Dick Clark - it was mostly commercials and just interviews - Did watch the back street boys & new kids on the block (I loved them back in the day - I was a big New Kids on the Block fan even though I was in my 30's) I was so surprised to see Mark Walberg on there since he's a big movie start now a day... That was the only part of Dick Clark that we watched - we watched house hunters after the movie... Deb left around 2:30 I went to bed at 3ish - dogs had me up at 7 - but I got on the couch and went back to sleep - got up at 11:15 ish .. Lobster was ok - not great - I think it's cuz it's not main lobster (I ate 1/2 then a few hrs later the other 1/2) I had never broiled it either - but it's easy - try it Lori... Apples - it's always hard to figure what to take cuz you don't know what you are going to feel like wearing... I don't plan my clothes for a week of work - I walk in my closet and say what do I want to wear - I think our problem is that we have TOO MANY choices LOL... Well - Don't know what I'm doing today - I know it's Saturday but feels like a Sunday to me - Ya 1 more day off work - I have gym tomorrow at 10 ;0) Weather Today 54 right now..Plenty of sunshine. High 56F. Winds light and variable. 56 High 33 Low Well off to ck my #7 thread - cbl - Happy New Yrs everyone...

Ellen - I would say you most likely do need a fill since you haven't had one but you are 100% right about it not taking care of head hunger issues. For some fills does take away their hunger - you may be one of those - but I'm not that lucky - I still get hungry and for me it's once I start eating I don't want to stop even with the band.. I can be physically full and still have the desire to eat. And this is mostly at night when I am at home I don't keep food at my desk - cuz I would graze all day. I do have some Jerky and almonds for those times when I am absolutely starving (real hunger) but I can stay in control during the day - for me it's the night time that I have to be very careful of. When I was 1st banded I would eat my alloted dinner then sit and really think was I full or did I just want to eat more cuz it tasted good.. I really tried to listen to my body and not my head - 99% of the time I just wanted to eat more for the taste - I love the taste of food - I am a food addict... So I hear you.. The way I deal with it is avoidance... I don't have stuff in my house that I can over indulge on - well ya I do sf pudding & sf fudgecicle, 100 pack popcorn - Lite Pringles - bite size tostedos and ff beans.. but all these things are better and lower in calories that the stuff with fat and sugar. When I wasn't at my sweet spot - I did ok during the day but at night when I was still hungry I ate and extra cup of veggies - being a ww girl to me veggies are almost free as far as calorie I will take a 1/2 c refried Beans add some green onion - salsa - ff cheese and make a bean dip and eat with 14 tostedo bite size chips. I am full on this - it will be my lunch sometimes on the weekends.. I have alway budged my calories Breakfast 200 - Lunch 200 - Dinner 300 - Snacks 200 or 300 - I saved my snacks for when I am the hungriest which for me is night time Journaling is excellent they say - I just saw Valeria Bertanelli (sp) on Rachael Ray this morning - that is what she said she did.. Also for me like on the weekend - I would get out of the house - as long as I am doing something I don't think about eating - sitting in the house - am alway looking in the kitchen for something - what I don't know but something. Sometime you have to find away to feed your head hunger without going overboard - If you keep denying cravings you will want it that much more that's why I have my sf puddings & fudge cicles - This is a struggle that we all have - I wish I had the magic answer - cuz if I did I would be a TRILLIONAIRE:lol::lol:-. Just think - am I really hungry or am I trying to soothe myself - what's bugging me - get out of the house if you can - eat something lite and within you calorie budget, And yes the more you exercise the more you can eat cuz your body burns more calories just breathing if you have muscle - this is why weight training is so good Congrat on your parents 64 wedding anniversary - that's fantastic - heck if they want to stay home tonight let them - there is always tomorrow to go to dinner or lunch - Watching your 3 yr gs - that's a tough one - all day... OMW after 2 hrs my 4 yr gd wears me out Go take him for a walk or to the park.. There is some fun exercise... Gettin - 1st you have done well by not giving into your I screw up mentally - Again this is not a diet - you had a treat this weekend at your nieces wedding - that's allowable - that's life - even pple without a weight problem have cake, foods they don't normally eat every day and a couple of drinks - but that's one day then the next day you go back to eating healthy and increase your exercise a bit to make up for the eating - you don't beat yourself up... WTG :w00t: on putting on the gym clothes and going to the gym... Lori - No a/c and pushing 90 - you are better than me 80 is when the a/c comes on and stays on.:cursing:. Congrats on the pants that's a great nsv.. be proud.. Glad to hear that the cream is working.. WTG in getting rid of stuff to graze on :cool2:- it's still avoidance for me - I am no longer keeping a diary but I have changed my eating - even today when I went food shopping - I read lables - I was in target hadn't eaten all day and it was noon - looked at a box of jr mints 220 c for the box and said ya that's within your calories that would be the same as breakfast - but thought - iwhat nutrient's does it have - it's sugar and fat and when you eat sugar you just want more so I said- nope i am not eating this - so just waited til I got home and had my fish left over from the night before.. I normally want real food before junk.. not always but most of the time Another way that I deal with my food issue is being creative in the kitchen - I fix stuff that I will really enjoy eating when it's time to eat - I just now make the meal healthier - less fat less butter not starch loaded. It's a challenge - but that being said I did and still do eat mostly the same foods - I read some where that pple who do this do better with their weight... Hungry eat something a piece of fruit - a 100 calorie snack pack -(whatever you are craving but try and do liter stuff like snack pack Cookies or crackers) but when you are eating - don't do it mindlessly - enjoy it...

Hey Linda...good goin' on throwing that leg up for the doc! Also, very nice NSV...so funny you talk about being "normal". That's how I envision most of you. If I have seen your photo after weightloss, it's tough to see someone that once was heavier. Good luck on switching your sleep schedule to your work sleep schedule. Not easy to do but maybe will help with your sleep troubles. My DH's CPAP lulls me to sleep and keeps me sleeping. B/4 he had it, it did not sleep well at all. He was always a fitful sleeper and woke me up. He's not heavy and never has been. He and oldes DS 28 were both diagnosed with a rare sleep disorder. He had thickening around his heart...that was an indicator. Would love to borrow your DH once in awhile to do the supermarket trips for me. My DH was in a supermarket once. He didn't like it and never went back. Eva.....I know we will enjoy the trip down. DH and I travel well together and have a lot of fun (as long as I get my way...kidding). We enjoy museums, stopping at garage sales, surplus stores, etc. Will have to leave a corner of the truck empty just for such stops. Thought maybe you had a p.j. day today also. So sad........ OK...all of you that are still in your p.j.'s...it's almost time to put on a new pair.

Linda - WTG - YOU CAN BRAG BOAST ALL YOU WANT - That's what this site is all about - and we understand how exciting it is to shop and be amazed at the sizes you are getting - and it will get that much better when you get to goal.. We don't have either of those stores here in Cali.. Julie GF you are one of us and I am sure glad you stayed!!!! Yes the last yr hasn't been the greatest on your weight loss but you haven't gained - you have been in the hospital like what 3 times - you still are having major pain issues. You have lost (if I remember correctly) over 100 lbs !!!! WTG that's in it self is a great accomplishment - don't short change your self - You have gone from what 4-5x to a 2x - that's fantastic !!! How's your restriction - can you go an get a fill - what are you eating - I know exercise is hard for you due to the weather right now - but if I remember correctly you have a treadmill and some weights.. Get up and move - walk in place during a commercial - go back to logging your food. It will come off - another NSV - you are coming to FL - this is your 1st trip by yourself - come to meet with us.. I know it's hard w/all that's on your plate right now - but GF you can do it - get back to eating healthy - and try and get some extra movement in each day - drink your water.. Krogers is a Ralph's here in Cali - I have the Quaker Oats brand you should beable to find those any where.. I may need a fill - I ate my 1.5 cup serving this morning at 8:30 and I was starving by lunch and can't say I was really full from them and they were thick.. Cheri - you had me me cracking up with My goal is to stay normal (not talking psychologically, LOL). And I gotta correct you in something that's a pet peeve w/me and I don't mean to be rude or anything A pound of muscle weighs just as much as a pound of fat - the diff is that a pound of fat is a larger size than a pound of muscle The size of the object is diff not the weight... A pound is a pound.. ie a pound of cotton balls would take up a large cardboard box - where as a pound of muscle fits in a shoe box - but it's still just a pound.. I can be very literal at times - again no offense meant - it's just one of those sayings that I know isn't a true statement.. Yes your body is reshaping cuz that fat took up a lot of space and you are losing it - and yes a size 12 is a normal size and I am glad that you are comfortable and happy where you are - you have made a great diff in the quality and hopefully the quanity of the yrs you have left. Ok gotta go feed the dogs and me :0) CBL

So, in my new retired life....right......I went for a walk today. Yeah me. You would think after all that walking in Argentina with a heavy back pack it would be a breeze to walk today. Nope, not, nadda. I only walked 30 minutes and can feel it. It's not like I'm done in for the day, but I thought this walk would be easy and I was surprised it wasn't that easy. Joyce, it might be a great idea to go to Guam after moving your son back to KC. You won't have to deal with the stuff that may come up from that. Congrats on the NSV....it is a very positive reinforcement when people notice. See I'm jealous of you going to Guam, another exotic place to visit. Arlene, we bought the camera used from a friend and it's a Olympus E-300. I think it is only a 5meg digital camera, but it has all the bells and whistles. It can be used on auto or you can do all the settings manually. DH is very good with a camera and he took most of these pictures, but not all. It's big and heavy and not a lot of fun to carry around, but it does take great photos. I'm thrilled with the digital media because you get instant gratification from your shots. If you want to touch them, you can always have them printed. So I submitted a resume today. I can't believe I'm doing this already. But, I got my insurance information and I have to pay a lot each month to keep my insurance and when the service center called me today, they told me I only had 9 years of service and was not entitled to retirement benefits. I came unglued and started crying. So now that I'm over that, I'm taking this up the ladder to as high as I have to. I wonder what happened to my other 25 years. This will be resolved. Okay, on to another project...mainly laundry. Later, ee

Hi guys~ Just finished reading the posts. I take one day off and I get so behind! Jodi~ Wow! WTG on scoring the clothes and the rekindled relationship. They are both awesome. Eva~ that soup sounds great. Have never made a chicken soup with cooking chicken in skillet before (always cook whole chicken or chicken breasts on bone- boiled in the broth). Will try it. Have a good weekend- hope DH is feeling better. Apples~ Safe trip to the lake!!! Give Tanker a hug from Auntie Laura and hope the toe feels better. Oh my! on DS going overseas. uh, my heart goes out to you! I know you are so proud and scared all at the same time. I know how strong you were when they were both over there. hugs. Janet~ sorry too for the death of your old neighbor. Sounded like a great man- love the stories of him playing games with you guys and always inviting you on vacation. Arlene~ WTG on the weight loss!!!!!!!! Julie~ I second what apples said, hope you are ok. Haven't heard from you in a couple days. Linda~ Have a great weekend and wtg on the gym so early! Are you feeling better after the PB at work from the vitamin? Was 219 this morning- that's 3 more lbs! NSV- I fit in a size 16 skirt/with shorts under it, that I have been saving since a month after surgery. I saw it in the store last spring and thought ONE day I will wear this. It didn't look GREAT, but I was so thrilled, I wore it anyway today. I am taking protein powder, some prot. bars and muscle milks with me to NC. I will not gain like i did last month when we went. I know my parents will not be offended if I don't eat- they understand. My sister gets upset with me though. She thinks I am trying to show that I have better "control" or something. I tried explaining that this has NOTHING to do with her. This morning was Nelson's Mothers' Day tea at his school. OMW... what a cute cute morning! They sang "Everybody loves a Saturday night!" and then changed the lyrics to Mother stuff. And then they sang the I love you song. Nels made a handmade heart pin with crooked rhinestones on it. Just love it! I love the laughter of little kids- wish we could bottle it! (we'd cure everyone of everything!) oh, Nelson did his TKD testing last night and got his camo belt. I will post a pic. Sorry for lots of Nelson stuff. :bored: Nelson's best friend, Nick, is having a horrible time. The kid is 6 years old and found his 10 year old golden retriever dead last night. He is devastated and really really not handling it well. You dog lovers- is there anything that helps? Is it too early to give him a pic of his pet? I took a great photo of him and the dog at Halloween. Just feel like doing something. Or just get a toy- and nothing dog related? His mom said he told her to do something- bring him back! He promised to be good for the rest of his life and said she could have all his toys! When she called me last night crying; I bawled for like an hour. So sad. Hope everyone has a great mothers day!!! I am sure I will touch base some from NC. Thanks for the safe travel wishes!

Thanks for the encouragement on the childcare issue. I have just seen some bad things. I have seen good too so I should tryi to focus on that. I use to be a nanny myself. I was totally in love with the children. There must be people out there who do a great job. I called the ymca and they don't have a program that will work. I did answer a few ads today. We shall see. I understand some of what your daugter is going through. I have been in there myself. It takes alot of want to from a person. If she admitted herself that is a great sign that she has it. I hope she will take the time to focus on herself and what it takes to get better. A lot of drama in those places but you can learn alot. Congrats on being hit on. What a NSV. LOL My uniforms arrived today and they are slightly big. I measured before I ordered them but I can take them in a bit. I will probably be doing that alot.

I guess this is what you might call a little NSV that happened this week...Like so many women, I have at least 3 different wardrobes--fat, fatter and fattest(not too mention the few dreaded-"omg even the fattest are tight" tent pieces:cursing:). My DH has always complained that I have too many clothes even though I always felt like I had nothing to wear ...you know the story. Well, a couple of girls at work this week have been commenting on my "new" outfits. Funny thing is I have had these things for a long time but haven't fit into them for at least 2 years!!! Granted these are still "plus sizes" but it's still a great feeling. I can't wait to say goodbye to the plus sizes and have so many more options for clothes shopping! Definitely gonna need some new stuff this fall/winter I predict! (OMG I hope so!)
