doxaholic replied to trekker954's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I started with GENEPRO i was extatic over it then the reports of it claiming more Protein than it actually contains started coming out and that they are getting sued. I stopped because i am a newbie and did not want my protein to be low because of it. But i see where others have tried it and come out okay i dont know i am on the fence with this stuff but i really want to go back to it sonce it was the only one i could really stomach Sent from my SM-G920P using the BariatricPal App -
My positive experience mixing Genepro
Yardsleever replied to trekker954's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I have been using GENEPRO in my coffee in the mornings also. I do follow the mix with a fork using room temp Water then add to hot liquid route. I also warm my coffee with the Genepro in the microwave as i like it hotter than it comes out of the Keurig. I haven't had any clumping issues. Struggling with aversion
tankheadmommy replied to Real California April's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I have not tried those except for the premade fruit protein drink. I now use Genepro and Nectar protein powder. Sent from my SM-T818T using BariatricPal mobile app -
I also found genepro, I lIke it much more than unjury. It dissolves better and is more concentrated, a small scoop is 30 grams vs 21 for unjury I believe. I bought it off Amazon.com. How is the flavor?

@@TransformeVSG I too have TWO weddings. My nephew on Long Island, so I'm flying up exactly one month after for 2 nights. Then my best friend the weekend after on the Gulf Coast Florida (so I'm driving over). I do hope I have the energy. In my photo (which isn't everything I really have, lol). I have my Magic Bullet blender (had it for years), various types of Protein power (GENEPRO unflavor, unjury, BariatricPal various flavors and Soups, Syntrax Peanut Butter cookies) PB2, patch MD Vitamins, BariMelt vitamins, various minerals, nectar powder drinks, stock, boullion cubes and bone broth (chicken, vegie, beef), gas-x (BTW, during my pre-op, the nurse told me I could bring them to the hospital), beano, prevacid, Bariatric Samples of fusion shakes, decaf coffee and decaf peppermint tea, sugar free ice tea, mineral boost drink, my little 2 ounce cups. Not pictured in refrig are other ready to drink Protein Shakes and various types of Water with minerals and or protein. This morning I chose one of the samples i received, the fusion cinnamon bun. Funny, I came out of my room and loudy annouced I was having a cinnamon bun. My daughter dropped her jaw (my DH, just said thats nice and didn't look up, lol). Then showed them my shake. Anyway, first couple of sips, I said, hmmmmmm, it really tasted like a cinnamon bun......but after a while, I was turned off. It was just too sweet. Then again, I don't usually like the real cinnamon buns because they are too sweet. -
Glad to hear you like GENEPRO! I'll have to get busy and order some! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Unflavored Protein question
laceemouse replied to Christina.Rose's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What do you put your Genepro in? I have some and tried it with watered down juice (I can't handle artificial sweeteners) and it made it change a weird color and get really THICK. And it was a large glass. Yuck. -
Unflavored Protein question
Christina.Rose replied to Christina.Rose's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I appreciate the details of your experience. I'm trying to compile everything I read from people and GENEPRO seems to be the "best" so far for lack of flavor. Sent from my SM-J700P using the BariatricPal App -
I use a product that I found and really like Musclegen Research GENEPRO Protein Powder it is 30 gram of protein and I put it my coffee every morning. no taste. dissolve better in hot liquid. use a fork to stir.

Why is everything sweet?
ridgerunner replied to doppelganger's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
After a lot of Googling this subject I found a product called GENEPRO. It takes half the amount that you need of other products for the same quantity of Protein because they put it thru a process that takes all the excess unnecessay byproducts out. It also mixes easier because of this and as far as taste, I myself barely taste it. I have mixed it in cold and Hot drinks and foods and it mixes very easily. I am very impressed with this product. I found a way to get my protein in! Yay!
gustavio replied to gustavio's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I ordered it online. It was $30 for a container of it. Well worth it! It saved my butt. I'm sure you can get unflavored at GNC or something as well. But genepro is formulated for post WLS patients from what I understand. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Can someone please help me...
happymama2014 replied to Jennifer Rogers's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I've never heard anything about taking a certain amount of time to consume protein. It takes me about a half an hour to eat my Greek yogurt. Only takes me about 10 minutes to drink my soup or broth with genepro protein powder, and takes me about 15 minutes to do a protein pudding because of small bites. -
Atkins protein lift, I've seen those in the supermarket and Walmart. Isopure I found those at GNC and the Vitamin shoppe. I went with GENEPRO, it has 30g of protein in a tablespoon and is flavorless and odorless, I mix it with my Water with a little crystal light and that gives me two in one liquids and proteins, I got this at gnc. I could not stomach sweetness in the Atkins lift water post op, it was a bit much for me right now . I'm day 4 post op. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I added genepro protein powder to all my soups. The protein keeps me feeling full. Sent from my SM-G920V using BariatricPal mobile app

I went with GENEPRO too. What a blessing. You can't taste it at all. I add it to my broth.

Anyone have to do post op liquid diet?
MissKay replied to correak's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah I only had to do 2 weeks pre-op liquids, and 2 weeks post-op. I technically don't start purees until Monday, but my nutritionist who works very closely with my surgeon said if I felt ready to introduce some of the pureed items already, I could. I've added in cottage cheese and soft scrambled eggs. The eggs gave me some gas pain, but otherwise I did pretty well with them. That's so strange that they have you hat 4 weeks.... that's a long damn time. As for Protein drinks, get GENEPRO. I mix it in with vanilla almond milk and SF chocolate syrup, and it tastes really good. You can't really taste the protein at all. I've mixed it with broth too. Others have mixed it in with yogurt, applesauce, etc. -
I wanted to share with you, i have been having issues with getting protein in. SO i was suggested to try GENEPRO which is not only flavorless it is actually TASTELESS. You add only 1 Tablespoon and get 30 grams protein and it has no taste. I actually love this stuff. Mix it in tea, coffee, chocolate milk and you wont taste it. It was definitely worth the money and AMAZING. just thought i would share with you all!

Someone on this post already mentioned GENEPRO Protein but I want to mention it again. I'm one month out, and honesty, I was about to just stop with trying to get any protein because they all made me gag from the smell, the overly sweet taste and the whey flavor. I read where others were talking about Genepro being odorless and tasteless and I really didn't believe it was but decided to waste the money and try it. I'm so glad I did. It's really been a life-save for me. I mix it in everything, even hot decaf coffee. You only have to mix 1 tablespoon to get 30g of protein and it really is tasteless. I bought it off of Amazon after researching it. I hope this helps you. Best of luck, Carol

True no flavor unflavored Protein Powders
MauiGirl5555 replied to chellede's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The unjury unflavored didnt do much for me...it had a smell that I couldnt get past. I tried it in applesauce and hot Cereal and couldnt tolerate it at all. I have not tried to mix it into the Choc Splendor Unjury drink which I think tastes great. This morning I tried a GENEPRO no flavored powder....it didnt have a smell which is a bonus....I mixed it in with my choc splendor unjury drink....it didnt really change the taste....it sort of left an aftertaste in my mouth for a bit...but nothing too awful.... I ordered samples of the genepro...I ordered 2 samples and they sent me 4....it cost me less than $5. It is worth trying a sample to see if you like it. Good Luck -
First bad meal post op!
mbrinmn replied to amysd1009's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For all of you who don't like, or cannot eat, Protein shakes, try GENEPRO. I bought it on amazon.com. One little scoop (about a rounded tablespoon) is all you need to get 30 g of protein. It is Water soluble, just like Benefiber or Miralax. You can put it in just about everything and not taste it...your morning yogurt, cottage cheese, mash it in with enough hamburger for one patty and grill it, put it on your salad, etc. The possibilities are endless. It does add a slight flavor to water, which isn't a bad taste, it just a funny taste. Now I mix it in with my daily Sobe Lifewater or Fuze Slenderize water. I really feel less tied to protein shakes (powdered or canned) since I have found this great product. -
