    100lbs before and after

Awesome job!! I was sleeved 3/16/16 and just broke the 3 week stall. Any tips? Sent from my SM-G530T using the BariatricPal App 1excited I have been fortunate to not have had any stalls as of yet but I switch up my exercises every week because even before surgery my body got used to doing an exercise to quickly and then I wouldn't have results. I am also fortunate to have 2 personal trainers as best friends and have my best interest at heart so they make the routines for me each week. i am also very conscious about what I am eating even though it is still in very small amounts I am making healthy protein packed choices I mainly eat meat (steak, chicken, fish and turkey) chat this point don't have room for much else. I walk everyday on lunch for 45 to 55 mins and take frequent breaks to help get to my 10,000 steps a day. Best advice I have for you is to be doing this for yourself and no one else you will be your best motivation or your own worst enemy. Sometimes we have to get out of our own way and step out on another path. I have changed my way of thinking no more mindless snacking, meals are prepped and thought out every Sunday for the week and exercise is on top of my daily activities to do. I wish you the best of luck on your journey!.
  3. We have almost the sames stats!! I was sleeved on 3/28 weighed in on pre-op diet at 248# and had a 3-week stall as we all do.... Mine lasted a week and a half. You HAVE to get your Protein up to 70 - 80 grams minimum, drink the fluids, and my nutritionist had me increase my calories to break mine. So....2 shakes a day, and 3-4 "meals" that usually consist of cottage cheese, greek yogurt, string cheese, refried Beans, corned-beef hash with or without an egg, an omelet.....you get the idea. And take your chewable vitamin! I was only getting between 400 and 600 calories a day, increased it to 600-800, that seemed to help a lot. And when I get on full regular food next week she tells me 1000 calories a day. I don't do fat-free anything really, except the greek yogurt.....eat waaaayyyyy too much cheese (I poop like a rabbit), and am slowly trying to get to real food. Let us know, and I hope it helps.

    Not losing

First you have likely come in to the very common 3 week stall. Just stick with the program and stay off the scale for a week. Second your NUT should NOT be giving you goals like that. I never lost more than 10 to 15 pounds per month and at one year post-op, I am down 120 pounds from surgery day. It adds up. Sent from my HTC One M9 using the BariatricPal App

    Weight loss stall

Just put ' 3 week stall' into the search box. Mine lasted 5 weeks. It does work on your mind but as long as you know you are on the right track, You can not fail. Keep off the scales, Trust the process
  6. I was sleeved on 12/21 and my weight has stayed the same since day 4 PO. I am following Dr.s orders. I had a 3 week LRD with no actual food - so I figure this is my 3 week stall. Just keep doing what you are supposed to and the weight will come off.

    Eating Is A Chore Now!

I am so glad I found this topic. I had surgery on 03/01 so I am 26 days out. I am basically at the stage where I can eat normal food if I chew very well and eat small bites. The problem is that I don't want to eat. Nothing sounds appealing. The only thing I am remotely interested in eating is a salad loaded with veggies and that is one of the only things I am still not supposed to have. I probably don't eat 400 calories a day, I haven't lost any weight in a week (yes I know 3 week stall and starvation mode etc), and my stomach stays full of gas despite gas-x strips and rinitidine for the reflux. Most days I start off feeling ok but by noon I am exhausted. I bought these bariatric Vitamins but they are too hard on my stomach so I am forcing myself to eat some of my kids gummy vitamins each day. My muscles are sore and crampy from my lack of potassium but I can't get the potassium pill down and my stomach refuses to hold a banana. I want to start Zumba but I get dizzy just standing up. I am getting about 30 - 35 oz of Fluid in a day on most days but others maybe only 10 oz. I don't regret my sleeve at all... I just want to figure out how to work it better...

    Not loosing weight 🙁

I stalled after the first week of surgery. I had lost 27lbs in the pre op diet, then another 11lbs in my first week. So I hit the dreaded "3 week stall" early. It will pass. Just keep following your plan.
  9. Don't get discouraged! The 3 week stall is a bummer, but you will get past it. Just continue following your diet. RNY 15 weeks out--83 lbs. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. Just keep drinking! Also there’s a short weight loss stall near you. Not to worry about, ignore the scale when it happens. Look up 3 week stall on here to see more. You’ve got this!

Sleeved June10th 2015 and STILL at a stall!

Thank you. I was expecting the 3 week stall that everyone was talking about but mine started early and hasn't let up. The link was helpful as well. I find myself hurrying to bed in hopes that I'll wake up and see a pound loss :/ I'll just keep riding it out and try and up my water intake.

    Frustrated and Discouraged

I had my bypass surgery 9/19 also and going through the same thing. I read about the 3 week stall, but hoped it wouldn't happen to me it's been 2 weeks without any loss. I haven't read anything on how long it usually lasts. I'm hoping it will be over soon and I can get back on track. I am trying different things to jump start the weight loss. I have made a conscious effort to increase calories and this weekend I tried increasing carbs (from 20 grams to 30). Who knows how to get it to kick in again other then patience... which I have never been good at Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Carbs, Proteins and Calories???????

You're in the 3 week stall, and it's very common. If I were you, I would trade in those crackers for some cheese, or a higher Fiber carby food such as Beans or edamame. The veggies will give you more fiber, and probably help you feel better in general. If you cook the veggies, try steaming(microwave or stovetop method) or roasting them in the oven. I'm not sure if you can have veggies yet, just check with your nutritionist or surgeon. Also, take your measurement right now, tonight. Measure around your waist, hips, thighs, and chest at least. If the scale doesn't move the next week remeasure and see if you're losing inches. The scale will move, I promise. Your body just dropped 20lbs in 2weeks, been through major surgery, and your feeding it about 1/3 of the calories you ate pre-op. It's kind of pissed off at you for everything you've done to it. Sip more water, try to hit that 60+ mark, that will help keep you from retaining water. Don't stress, your body will hold on to more weight. Put the scale away and don't weigh until Saturday or Monday.

    Caloric intake

Yeah it sucks so I don’t know if I’m harming myself rather than helping with suck low calorie intake but I can’t force it it hurts. I just know I hit the 3 week stall
  15. 31 pounds - you are doing awesome! Are you noticing differences in your clothes? And you are in onederland! Has it been a while since you've seen those numbers? Man, I can't wait to. I know you're having a really hard time, and it sounds simply like it's awful right now. Have you tried many different types of shakes? Drinking faster/slower? Are you getting in Water? When I start getting low blood sugar I start feeling nauseous about eating. Are you getting enough in? I'm sure it's tough with the nausea. Are you prescribed anything for nausea? Maybe your doctor can send you in a script for something. I agree with others that maybe you should get your blood work checked. Also, are you on a PPI? I'm not sure if acid can cause nausea, but it seems like it's possible. I admit, even 5 weeks out I'm freaking exhausted often. I am getting all my Protein, water, etc, and I feel simply beat at the end of the day. But I try and remind myself that I will have energy once I am further out, eating more, and healthier. There was a time when I was stuck on my 3 week stall that I started to regret it, but now that I'm losing again, it was totally worth it. Most of all, you rock. You are strong for getting this surgery and for going through these hard times and when you come out on the other side you will be so proud saying to yourself "I MADE IT" So keep up the great work, see if you can get something for nausea, and hang in there.
  16. Congrats what a good feeling!! I can't wait to have lost that much! So happy for you! How long did it take to lose 60lbs? You don't have to tell if you don't want to I am just curious I am at the 3 week stall I feel Ike I will never lose at much
  17. Everything already stated above is true. I didn't realize how much I relied on food. I knew I ate too much and I knew that I had an emotional attachment to food. It was where I ran for comfort.. After surgery it came to my attention that food had more control over my life than I realized. I'm only a little more than 3 weeks post op. It has been very hard to change my relationship with food and I've only just begun. The 1st 2 weeks were the worst. I had to give myself a good talking to and make myself accept that my affair with food is over. Permanently. That being said, I don't regret getting the sleeve for one minute. I'm having the dreaded 3 week stall right now. It's just ridiculous. But I know the scale will move again soon and I know that my new eating habits are in my best interest. If you do your homework and prepare yourself for the huge changes you are about to make, the sleeve is great. Just make sure your ready because there is no going back.

    Major Stall.... Ugh!

Yes, search these forums for 3 week stall, and you'll find a bazillion posts. This is a VERY common point at which to stall. Don't worry - the scale will start to move again. Just try to focus on getting in your liquids and protein, and developing new habits. You'll do great!
  19. I started out weighing daily. But after hitting the 3 week stall, I started weighing weekly for my sanity. [emoji1] Since being on lockdown, I've starting weighing myself a couple of times a week to make sure I'm staying on track. Sent from my SM-G975U using BariatricPal mobile app
  20. Yep, me too, the 3 week stall. Have not lost any more for 9 days now. I keep hearing that our bodies just need to adjust, but I know how you feel. I don't have a problem eating anything in particular, though I can only eat about 4 ounces. Have been getting in all my protein, and eating about 800 cal a day on average. Just started really doing more though as today was the first really pain free day I have had. I feel great!

    FRUSTRATED!

@@p-ruck21 LOL some/many/MOST of us go through "these" stalls!!!!! especially what is commonly called the "3 week stall" people that stall sometimes shake things up a bit - calories, Protein, drinking but........who knows if the above helped - or your stall finally broke on its own?? doesn't really matter - stalls as well as shitttt happens too you are using/wasting a lot of energy over something you can't control you are doing wonderful protein, calories - perfect make sure you drink so much it comes out of your ears, or "somewhere" else as times goes by, and "if"you reach another stall make sure to take your measurements sometimes you will lose inches - (not weight) its great to see those inches disappear, weight will/must eventually follow pre-op & post op down 20 lbs keep up the great work good luck kathy congrats

    FRUSTRATED!

Also - the 3 week stall is notorious on this site - nearly everyone goes through it. Just hang in there and keep following directions from your NUT and do tor.

I was sleeved Dec. 19th and have lost 45 lbs so far. My best advice is, beware of the 3 week stall! Right at 3 weeks I stalled for 3 weeks!! After doing some research, I found that it is a very common occurrence. I wish I would have know ahead of time. Good luck!!
