  1. For the last 9 mths the tip of my tongue feels slightly numb. Since I had my surgery in Mexico I can't be seen by a bariatric Dr in the states. Nothing tastes right. I crave foods and get hungry but never eat much of them because I can't really taste them. Anyone else dealing with this and gotten help?
  2. I had Rouen-y 10 years ago. I have had two kids since then and have regained all of my weight. Although that is a problem it's not the one that immediately concerns me. For a year I have been trying to figure out what is wrong with me. My symptoms are: sternum pain, chest pain and pressure, feeling of fullness when I haven't eaten anything, excessive painful bloating and gas, extreme sweating, racing heart, heart palpitations, and difficulty taking a deep breath. I have been to an allergist because they thought I had asthma, nope. I had an EGD and upper GI study done, they found little acid and a small hiatal hernia. The gastric bypass doctor put me on omeprazole which helps a little. My other doctor thought maybe it was anxiety causing the symptoms. I have tried numerous medications and have had tons of blood work! No one knows what is going on and they don't seem too inclined to figure it out. I can't keep feeling this way!!! Please help!
  3. Wow, heck of a year 2020 is for me and countless others. I had move on after truly trying everything last year. After 5 surgeries (only 2 related) and countless testing? I will qualify for my revision sometime in 2021. Maybe it was this knee pain that I am currently feeling [emoji16] I am so scared. I don't know why? I know that is my best way to improve my health and increase longevity. I talked to so many doctors and mental health professionals over the last year. Opinions vary! Can someone tell if they too struggled with this process and then achieved success after being revised! Thanks so much! Heck of a year! Sent from my SM-G965U using BariatricPal mobile app
  4. So who else has been delayed because of the increase in Covid case?? Really wish people would just stay home or wear a mask. I know this sounds selfish but I am really bummed. My surgery was scheduled for Nov 23. But here I sit still waiting and it could be another 4 weeks because of people going visiting for Christmas. I know that the hospital is the last place a healthy person should be but I have worked so hard to meet the qualifications and 3 days before surgery I was cancelled. This sucks. 6. Hi everyone. I'm so glad I came across this site as I have been desperate to talk to people to see how others have coled with their weight loss since surgery. I am really struggling and have found old bad eating habits have crept in again. I am 18 months post surgery and lost 7 stone 7lbs. Most of that ca.e off in the first year but the last 6 months nothing is coming off. It just stopped. I have mobility problems and walk with crutches and if I go out have to use an electric wheelchair. Because of this the surgeons said I would possibly lose 3 stone if I was lucky so in their terms I've.more than doubled my weight loss. But due to only being 5'1" I'm still obese at 11 stone 7lb. I have become so frustrated at not even a 1lb coming off each month I've started eating crisps and cake and chocolate again. I know I shouldn't but I'm addicted again. I didn't touch anything sweet for over a year but now, boredom, loneliness and frustration have triggered old habits. I need help, I just don't know what to do and don't want weight to go back on. I can't walk or exercise, and started to get very down that the weight wasn't coming off I've given up. Did anyone else have this happen? If so, what did you do and how to cope? ANY ADVICE? LOOPY

  9. Hey guys I really need some help from "real people with real experiences", my weight is increasing despite having a lap band in and I need to do something to stop it in its tracks. I have been dieting forever but this year I have done about 7 different diets, from Keto, SW, Calorie Counting etc and I am now heavier than I was on January 1st and what worries me is what my weight will rise up to if I don't do something. My history: - Starting Weight before Lap band: approx. 17 stone (size 20) - Lowest Weight after Lap band: approx. 10 stone (not for very long, comfortable weight was about 11 stone) (size 10/12) - Current Weight: 13 stone (steadily increasing weekly) (size 14) - I had a gastric band in April 2010, everything was fine overall, but the last few years haven't been so good, I developed a pouch in oesophagus so I only have 6.25ml in my band, this isn't really providing me with much restriction at all, I do have a little reflux however. I have also suffered with constipation for about 20 years! As I said above, I really need some help from "real people with real experiences", I am considering what my options are, revision surgery from the band to: Sleeve, Bypass, Mini Bypass or anything else? I have spoken to a few surgeons this week and they have all given different advice, so it is even more confusing. My questions are: - Has anyone had a similar experiences and what did you decide to do and was it the right decision? - It worries me if I have the sleeve or a bypass, will I be in the same situation in 10 years time? - Would anyone recommend a particular company or surgeon? - Has anyone had the band deflated and maybe had the balloon? I don't know if this is even possible? I thought this would mean surgery wouldn't be needed? Any advice would be welcomed, thank you all for your time 🙂
  10. On my surgery date I weighed 196. Today I weighed 190.5. Anyone else get off to such a slow start????
  11. My surgery is tomorrow, it doesn't seem real. I did the liquid diet for two weeks no problem, no cravings, lost 26lbs. The only part of the post-op diet that bothers me is pureed. The thought of chicken or meat in a blender makes me ill, not doing it. I will live on applesauce and cottage cheese. If anyone has other suggestions, I'll take them. I am not telling anyone about my surgery outside of two extremely close friends and family. I was hired work from home in April, the camera in my laptop doesn't work (Alleluia!) so no one at work has ever seen me, my manager hired me without an interview. So they do not know how huge I am and they certainly aren't going to know about this. Too much fat prejudice out there and not their business anyway. To the hospital I am taking the clothes on my back, my phone and charger, insurance/debit cards, toothbrush, comb and warm robe. I am praying for a smooth recovery with no complications. I am only taking off 4 days from work. I don't feel comfortable with more since this is a new job and I am a contractor hoping to be hired full time. I'm open to advice, etc. Thanks to everyone who has posted about their surgeries and for all the advice given here! Hopefully I will be able to put diabetes in remission after 15 years and an amputated toe, as well as kick high blood pressure.
  12. I had weight loss surgery on May 22, 2019, starting weight was 326 and I only got down to 266. During this process my body took on hormonal changes such as menopause. Right now I have sugar cravings that are seemingly out of control, I feel like a failure and that I will never lose the weight. Due to the pandemicI have actually gained weight, so I am now 285. My question to you guys, have there ever been anyone in the same predicament as myself and how did you pick yourself up to accomplish your weight loss goal? Can someone please offer some advice? I am thinking about having the bypass as I feel the sleeve was not beneficial for me.

  13. Hi! I was sleeved 10 days ago and I still feel horrible. I have already been back to the hospital for dehydration. I just seem to ache everywhere. I hate the taste of protein shakes. I drink one sip of water and immediately have gas. I'm wondering if I have a leak. I also have a high heart rate (115-125) everytime I move. Any suggestions?
  14. How are you guys doing so far? We are almost at a year and I want to see your progress and how your journey has been. A year out and we made it!!
  15. I had my ESG in mid August and proceeded thru all the diet phases with no problems. I now can eat "anything" altho I am only supposed to eat 3 oz per meal - 3 meals and 2 snacks per day. At first I was fine with the small amounts, but as I healed I felt hungrier and started moving my meal sizes up. I am not gorging by any means but I typically eat 4-6 oz per meal. Usually 900-1100 calories per day. This lets me have a few oz of veg along with my few oz of protein. My question is really about feeling hungry. I was told the ESG would greatly reduce hunger and cravings, unfortunately I am not feeling that. I wasn't hungry the first month or so, but its been a problem since. Did you feel free of hunger for some period of time, if so how long?
