    I would really consider what your real goals are, 160 seems realistic. Many on here have said the last 10 are the hardest. I wouldn’t try anything extreme unless you’re going to do it the rest of your life to keep it off. Look closely at what you could shave off of food. Could you eat one less bite at each meal? Could you mix up your exercise routine? They body responds when we try new things. Have you met up with TOPS or WW? Do you have a group or friend to have a friendly competition? Sometimes I watch 70lbs of life on YouTube. She has an online Weightloss challenge. I personally just broke a stall by reintroducing rubber bands on one lifting day, leaning into keto, and now use a noise machine for better sleep. Hopefully I’ll get your problem of the last 10 by next year. Good luck.

    Don't give up! I stalled for about 3 months and then the scale started rapidly moving again. I did a body scan and I had actually stayed the same weight but lost 4 kilos of fat/gained 4 kilos of muscle in that time. At this point I would focus on body measurements and body fat % instead of the scale.

    Taming Cravings

    My main strategy is to fill up on low-calorie foods. Once a week, I buy and prep a bunch of snack veggies (celery, carrot chips, cucumber slices, pepper slices, and cherry tomatoes). I portion them out in meal prep containers, one for each day, and I have a saved meal that I enter in My Fitness Pal at the beginning of the day. Then I snack on the veggies whenever I want (I usually split them between mid-morning and mid-afternoon), knowing that they’re already accounted for. I use Walden Farms “calorie-free” dressing as a dip. It is a LOT of food for ~60 calories. If I’m in the mood for something warm, my go-to is cauliflower rice with Flavor God cheese seasoning and Mrs. Dash. Or I make a soup with cauliflower rice and chicken broth. 20-30 calories and very satisfying. I have a great substitution for ice cream! Whip pasteurized egg whites (safe to eat without cooking) with cream of tartar, calorie-free sugar substitute, and flavoring of choice (vanilla is delicious but I like to experiment with different flavors of One-On-One) and freeze. It’s best to eat before it’s frozen solid, or after letting it soften for a few minutes. It makes about 1 cup for just 25 calories, and it’s dairy-free and high in protein. I also use it (without freezing) as a substitute for whipped cream and put it on 10-calorie sugar-free Jello. Sometimes just looking at the nutrition information is enough to deter me. One time someone brought donuts to work and they were calling my name. I looked up the nutrition info to see how bad a small glazed donut would be, and it was 280 calories! I could eat two Built Bars for that and I would enjoy them more, and once I looked at it that way, I had no desire to eat the donut. Not worth it!

  8. I am in this same boat - I lost 26+ pounds and over 9 inches and now nothing. I am counting what I eat, and have also increased the frequency and distance I am walking (1.1 miles per day plus whatever I do during the day). I am exactly three weeks out from surgery today and I am stuck. Will put a note into my surgeon's office and see how they can help.
  9. Congratulations!! that is an awesome loss!! ===================================== My surgery was on 25 Jun 21....my 6 month mark was on Christmas day. Month 1 start: 251.8 (surgery day) Month 2 start: 232.6 (-19.2 pounds) Month 3 start: 221.6 (-11 pounds) Month 4 start: 212.6 (-9 pounds) Month 5 start: 202.0 (-10.6 pounds) Month 6 start: 190.4 (-11.6 pounds) Month 6 end: 188.4 (- 2 pounds [first major stall]) Total lost in my first 6 months was 63.4 pounds. I believe I am a slow loser and that is fine with me. I have had constant heartburn that is currently being taken care of with OTC medication and may need an additional surgery to repair it. It is what it is..... I am just glad that I am no longer obese and that my size 12 jeans are getting loose on me. I've still got 40+ pounds to make it to my goal but I am in no hurry. My high weight was 275 and everything is going the right direction....that is all I care about.

    3 months post op

    I was at 206 lbs for .... 5 weeks or so? I really thought that was it and that my body was happy with our new weight. Just bouncing up and down a pound, back and forth. Then blam, outta nowhere, 5 came off. Then, 5 more. Then covid and 5 more, but that was 5 too many - had one morning of 190.8 and then I swear, the 5 covid lbs came back in 4 days. The body does what it does. We're just helping

    3 months post op

    I am a little more than 4 months post surgery and I am seeing similar issues. I lost almost 80 pounds overall but find that I reach plateaus and sit there at that weight for a while. I am still under 1000 calories per day and walk around 4 miles a day, trying to keep active. I watch the protein, drink 80 ounces of water per day and try to do everything I am told to do. Right now I have been stuck at 216-217 for 2 weeks. This morning I dropped to 214 so I hope it is another stall broken and I drift down for a couple weeks. I want to get to under 200 pounds but it has become more and more difficult. Being cold outside is not helping because I would like to exercise more but at 20 degrees, it is hard to stay outside. I hope to drift down slowly then when spring comes, really go crazy riding my bike and walking and get down below 200 quickly after that.

    well I'm three months post op, i lost 50 pounds and fast, then it slowed to a crawl, I still can't eat much, and I watch what i eat. and now I finally got my metabolism back to normal, as of a week ago, and now feel great. and i know that will help with the weight loss too, and yes I have loss a lost of hair, oh well
  13. My surgeon just said to focus on protein and eat appropriate portions. No specific calorie guidelines. She doesn't believe in counting calories. That said, I gained 18-25 pounds during the two years of COVID, but I just re-lost it and now am trying to reach the goal weight my surgeon initially set for me, which is about 20 more pounds. I joined Weight Watchers about 3-4 weeks ago and while it counts points and not other macros, it seems to be around 1100-1300 calories/day with no restrictions on food types.

I lost really good until week two then nothing for days I’ve only lost just under 2 pounds the past week - was 3 weeks yesterday- but I measure weekly and I lost 8.5 inches so I’m thinking maybe I lost more just not seeing it right now? I’ve lost 28 pounds since liquid stage and down 29 inches total all over. Finally hit 199 the other day but haven’t gotten any lower - I’ll take it 😀 And I’m week 3 which is the dreaded stall week for most anyway. I see my Nutritionist tomorrow I’m hoping she can give me tips. Also my scale says my visceral fat (the fat around the organs) went from 17 to 14 so I’m thinking that has to be a good thing!

I had a sleeve to rny revision 3 weeks ago and would love to follow some folks on Instagram since I don’t have Facebook and don’t want to create an account.   16. What I've learned this last 2 weeks is consistent. That's I've been able to lose a pound here and there. This morning sucked it was 48 degrees but I am working on being consistent and sticking to it. Am perfectly sticking to it? Hell no but I'm working my ass off!

    No weight loss

    Welcome to the site, Rhianna. There is a ton of good information out here if you explore the various topics in the forums and all of your questions have been address there. Can you go back to your surgeon's office and get nutritional counseling follow-up at this point? My procedure included lifetime support of nutritionist and counseling visits. To answer your questions: You can eat whatever your body allows. Everybody's body is different. For example, 3 years post-sleeve I still can't tolerate dense foods like bread or pork chops. You should get a minimum of 6 oz of water daily. Sip all day long. You should get at least 60g of protein daily. The protein can come from real foods like meat or from protein bars or shakes. Doctors recommend all adult humans get 150 minutes of exercise on 5 days each week, which means an average of about 30 minutes a day.
  18. So I’m coming up on my three year mark. I had my gastric bypass March 27,2019. I started above 330lbs and got down to 214lbs. Found out I was pregnant a month before my one year post op. During my pregnancy I could tell my pouch was “more relaxed” to allow me to eat more to make sure my baby got what he needed. I got rid of my diabetes and high blood pressure before pregnancy and developed gestational towards the end so I was induced and I gave birth September 30, 2020 and I tried breastfeeding which made me always hungry still. I stopped because I was unable to produce but I am still so hungry. My weight has stayed at 224-227lbs since birth. But I wanted to do a pouch reset. I tried it before but my stomach would burn and I’d feel nauseous and uncomfortable. I didn’t know if anyone else has experienced that. I stopped after a couple days because it was a terrible feeling. I didn’t know if I should “push thru” it and keep going because it’s normal or not.
  19. Had mine Dec 29th! Tomorrow week 2 but not doing too good on my weight loss for this week. Bummer. I’ve lost 15lbs started at 228lbs 223lbs pre surgery and now at 213lbs. Been following all orders and been on liquids since Christmas. Ready for puréed stage!!!

    Struggling

    For myself: routine im a teacher so my routine is pretty much set. I have never really been a foodie and I am fine eating the same thing every day….so….I have the same thing for lunch every day (P3 pack and a Greek yogurt). By eating the same stuff every day I am sure to get in my allotted protein (I’m actually at a lower level of protein than the normal Bariatric patient because of my kidneys). i have my set recipes that I make for dinner but the air fryer is my friend and I usually just eat two chicken wings, some cheese, and some fruit or veggies. If it’s not chicken wings I make sure my plate is well balanced and small. exercise: I am terrible and don’t really do this. I don’t because I am on my feet all day long walking and get 10k steps easy, then also come home and take the dog for a walk. And once a week on my “lazy” days I take my kids to the harbor and we walk a couple miles there too. So again, walking is my routine. It’s what I do every day and I don’t need it think about it anymore. Water: I have one of those water bottles with times on it. I drink one bottle before lunch. One bottle after lunch. That is 64 ozs of water. As long as I keep to my routine of finishing the bottle it works. all these things have evolved over time. It didn’t start out like that and I had to push myself to remember stuff and found myself frazzled with all the stuff to do. BUT: I’m on less medications now than I was before and I take them first thing in the AM. Calcium chewy bite I eat after school because it’s a time between meals. If you stay consistent it will eventually become a routine and second nature. (I am about 10 months out from surgery and down to 185pounds. My highest was 330 pounds)

    October surgery friends??

    My surgery was Oct. 5 and I lost 48 lbs so far. I stalled for about 4 weeks but I was not hydrating as I should have. I’ve recently picked back up my water intake and the weight is coming off steadily now. I’m still getting used to a lot of changes. My body is not tolerating too many foods, especially lately.

    Eat till full or?

    I wouldn't push it, but obviously do not go hungry. I see you had your surgery a week ago. Just as a data point, I thought I had zero restriction until 7-8 weeks out. Turns out the cut nerves in my stomach simply couldn't register the food yet. Then it kicked in (as much as MGB restriction kicks in, we have more room than most), so ... give it time. You may overdo it.
  23. Man oh man, I did it my mistake and boy am I traumatized. 3 weeks post-op and we went on a road trip to Sedona. I thought I was so clever going to Whole Foods and looking for soup to eat while we were away since it was easy and I was still in the pureed stage. I came across bone broth soup with 15 grams of protein I was like SCORE! I thought this was the ultimate solution to protein shake burn out because I love savory things. So there I was, in a beautiful little AirBnb overlooking a peaceful creek, sipping slowly on my bone broth soup thinking I was *peak* health goals, when I felt it... the cramps. the nausea. the poops. Oh LORD, the dizziness, the shakes, the heart pounding, the 'holy **** am I dying?' feeling. It lasted for about an hour, and while I was wondering what the hell was happening to my body, I googled dumping syndrome. Little old me thought that I could avoid dumping by avoiding sugar. I don't know why the heck it never occurred to me that bone broth soup is FULL of fat. Fat caused the dumping, since my little mug of soup had over 15 g of fat. SO, lesson learned. Pass it on friends. Dumping is the devil!

    Back to ER

    Turns out I have gallbladder sludge? Gross. Next up is a HIDA scan to see how my gallbladder is doing. It's been over 3 weeks with constant pain from this, so I want some resolution but also... I really don't want another surgery! So far my attempt to return back to work isn't going so well because I feel so sick all the time. Thank god I'm working from home so no one can see me with my heating heating pads hunched over typing. 😅
