    Boob Job Before Gastric Sleeve

OMG I just said this last week. Now I am older but 10 yrs ago I had mine reduced to a D cup. Now after V Sleeved it's getting smaller and wished I had never had it done. But we can never see the future. I would wait to see after you loose your weight because of the extra skin and it can be taking care of all at the same time. I am just noticing where the cut was done on the sides that it is looking very loose.

Was told not to lose weight

They told me don't lose between now and my 2/14 appointment although they said with the nutrition it would be hard not to but try. My nutrition is fasts tracked I have an appointment 1/10, 1/14 and 2/11. I was told I need 3 appointments but they don't have to be a month apart for my insurance (Independence BC). Thanks for the heads up on the soups. I'll stick to the bars and puddings. I'm not too much of a soup girl except creams... I'll do broth if I have to though.
  5. And you'll lose 5-10 lbs most likely
  6. I fortunately never experienced really any medical discrimination due to my weight. Every single doctor would always MENTION my weight, but always listened to me and treated my problems and didn't blame them on my weight. The only time anyone ever said anything that upset me was when my OBGYN mentioned that being obese means I would struggle to have kids (this was during the time I was baby crazy and actually wanted one). I cried for like 3 days straight. I don't even want kids anymore so whatevaaaa. But it's pretty annoying when every doctor points out your size. Like, yes, I realize I am obese. I see myself every day, thanks. When I was diagnosed with pseudotumor, the neuroopthamologist said if I lost 10% of my body weight it would go away. Except, before I saw him, I had lost 30% of my body weight and still had it. I told him that and he didn't believe me. He is still convinced it will go away when I lose more weight. I dunno if it will or not. I also have Mirena which causes it (class action lawsuits going on now), and he refused to investigate that possibility. I had the Mirena out for a few months, but decided to put it back because periods suck. When I was 140lbs doctors would shame me for my weight constantly because I was considered overweight for my height by like 5lbs. It made me really depressed and contributed to my eating disorders, eventually ACTUALLY creating the obese-me.

I Want To See Before & After Pics! (Cont'd)

I am only 7 weeks out but my face has changed drastically. First pic is day before surgery 10/31/18 and last pic is from about 5 minutes ago. lol.
  9. I didn’t notice it much until maybe 5 months. I had been taking all the right vitamins all along, AND I LOST WEIGHT SO SLOWLY, never two digits in a month except month 1. My diet was so healthy. But of course the shock of the surgery could be what did it, or whacked hormones or stress in the body, I don’t know. By 8 months I had lost about 75% of my hair. The difference between me (some of us) and cancer patients was that I did have enough long strands of hair to put in extensions. At first I put in 20, then added another 10 when I got used to them. My (ok not my) hair was lookin’ great! Longer than I ever had it! It went so well with my newly thinner body! I HIGHLY recommend doing extensions (with a good hairdresser) for other women in my situation. As you start to feel fantastic about your weight loss, start buying some new clothes, your hair looks horrible?? It took away my new joy at looking better. Getting the extensions changed all that. i got the extensions about a year ago. I took good care of them and got them adjusted every month. But, here is the bad news, I still need them. Hair grows at best, at fastest, only 3/4-1 inch a month. So at 17 months out from surgery, the new hair (and my hairdresser says it is all growing back) is still only maybe 3 inches long. I may need another 6 mo of extensions, so in Jan I will have to buy more, new hair extensions, as eventually this hair starts to get a bit ratty. Until the hair gets past my chin or so, I’m not going to lose the extensions. But it has been a lifesaver. And it is so worth it to be at goal weight (actually still losing a lb here and there). Keep going, guys. It’s temporary!

    Stalls Suck Balls!

  11. Am I the first one with a March 2019 date?? Just found today I’m scheduled for March 5th! I’ll be having the procedure at the University of Miami. I live in Key West, Florida. No doctors here perform the procedure on our little island. I’ll be traveling 3 hours to have the surgery. So excited!!

    November 2018 Sleevers!?!?

After a 14 day stall I’ve finally started losing again- thank the lord !! I’m down 51.5 since 11/19! I started exercising this week (had to rejoin the gym Bc it’s been so long). I keep looking at other peoples Instagrams thinking.....one day!!! Hope everyone is doing well!! This group (even though I don’t post much) has been a safe haven for me- and I’m so glad that I’ve been able to learn from all of you!

    November 2018 Sleevers!?!?

YAY!!! I am right there with you having a bit of a stall but I cheated the other day and peaked at the scale and saw it was going down this week already by 3lbs... not recording yet because fingers crossed it will be the end of my stall lol... I am happy I think I shared with you all that the doctor had told me they only expect a 15lb or 20 lb loss in the first month... by the sounds of it will are all doing great... I am shocked at how fast the changes are happening, I think people around me are noticing which is nice and a little weird like I am coming to terms with how BIG I really was and have been for such a long time, it is so nice to not be reaching for a snack or a second helping, to feel satisfied with the smaller portions. I came downstairs in a 4x shirt today and my husband laughed at me and was like you can't wear that outside in public... I was shocked Honestly I hadn't even really looked in the mirror... I had grabbed it because holiday themed, and threw it on, and he was right it was below my knees, and just looked hilarious all around... I ended up laughing and crying (happy tears) but just overwhelmed that this is working and how much I needed this in my life. I feel like I am truly going to be here to watch my daughter grow old and be the support she needs in life. I am just so grateful for chances we have before us. On another note, I am a suitable weight for the elliptical we have in the basement, and I am loving fighting with her lol I had no idea but this machine talks to you as you are working out, trying to motivate you, keep up the work, this 100% incline is nothing lol. I love yelling at this machine or answering her so fun... My husband was like um were you on the phone with the cable company (cause I have a tendency to get into arguments with cable company remote area = slow service) I was confused at first but her had heard me yelling hysterical! I really hope everyone has a great weekend, and for those celebrating a happy holiday! I can say I already have my Christmas wish for health this year, and so looking forward to 2019! I am so glad to have found this group as well! Love the support!

    PCOS

Hi! I have PCOS and got the full bypass in July 2016 and hit my gw by July 2016 (318 lbs to 160!). In November 2017, my husband and I started trying and... nothing happened. I finally saw my ob/gyn in the summer of 2018 and she referred me to a reproductive endocrinologist, due to the PCOS. She did a few labs and an ultrasound, decided I was an open and shut case of classic PCOS and prescribed me 10 days of estrogen to give me a period, and 5 days of a medicine called Letrozole to take in the middle of my period to trigger ovulation. I did one course of this medicine and in mid-November I found out we were pregnant! I was also losing hope, being that I’m 34, and after 18 negative pregnancy tests, it was looking gloomy. But number 19 was the lucky one. I would highly recommend seeing a reproductive endocrinologist. They know more about PCOS than the ob/gyn or family doctor. Good luck! Don’t give up! :)
  15. Anybody scheduled for March 2019?? I just got my surgery date of March 5th!! So excited. They had the end of February available but because of my job, I had to go with March.

What I've Received for Xmas from My Bosses

I work for local government and they used to throw a huge Xmas party for all of the employees a few years ago, but stopped. Now we just have a mini one with the 10 of us since I am in the office of the upper echelon. Albeit a peon myself. I feel bad for everyone else though. Although the five of them did pay out of pocket for the party themselves and now there's 300 employees..... not that they don't have the money but yeah.

    October 2018 Sleevers

OMG. Guys I finally made an old family favorite that I could eat!!!! It was our goulash! No onions seems to be the trick! The recipe made 10 cups, and I couldn't eat 1/4 of a cup! Best part is, 1/4 cup is only 57 calories! I added Protein Powder to my portion, but didn't add it into the main calories of the meal. I'm so close to getting into the 180's. I don't think I'll get there by the end of the year but who knows! [url=https://s.bariatricpal.com#/uploads/monthly_2018_12/2111102892_15453679348352.jpeg

    November 2018 Sleevers!?!?

I had my post op appt yesterday, I was sleeved on 11/19 & lost 17lbs! I was genuinely surprised. I know my clothes are fitting looser, but I’m trying not to focus too much on my weight right now and focus on more of the nutrition. I can’t believe how much more energy I have and how much better I feel walking. I’m so excited to see how the next year goes. Has anyone made any yummy recipes for the soft stage? I feel like I’ve been boring and sticking to chicken, cheese sticks, yogurt & chili mostly. I need a little variety the next few weeks!

I can tell you at 10 days out I was struggggliinngg. like 20oz of water a day and 15g of protein. It wasn't until 4 weeks that's I was able to pick things up. Sent from my SM-G930R4 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Need advice please

Wow 12lbs in 10 days is amazing! Everyone keeps saying mg of protein... it should be grams. I am 7 weeks out and my nutritionist and surgeon still don't expect me to hit 63g a day, although I am getting much better at it. I am at about 40-50oz of water a day. Need advice please

12.5 pounds in 10 days is over a pound a day. That’s a huge loss for someone your size. If you cannot get more than 3 ounces of some thing down in a sitting do NOT force it, increased intake will come in time as your surgery matures and you are able to progress through the diet stages. This far out from surgery your fluid intake is more important than massive amounts of protein. As you are able to eat more solid foods, you will be able to reach your protein goals much easier. Sounds like you are doing fine to me. Never force yourself to eat or drink more so close out from surgery.

100 lbs in under a year?

I've lost a little over 70lbs in a little over 10 weeks. I fully expect to be down 100lbs by the 5 month mark. May be wishful thinking but that's my hope!
