    I think I had a NSV

Amy; Great Job and definitely an NSV!!! I find that I've only lost about 17 pounds and I can wear some of my pants that were too tight the week of my surgery. It's not the number on the scale that matters, but the NSV's, like wearing a size smaller..... Keep up the good work!

    I think I had a NSV

    Definitely a NSV!!! Here's to fitting into a size smaller :tt2:. ~Amy

    I think I had a NSV

Who cares? Its a smaller size. That is all that counts. That is an NSV!!!

    I think I had a NSV

Who cares what fit you last year! The fact is you're down a size and that's an amazing NSV! Congrats Ang!
  5. I think I had my first NSV today, but I'm not sure to be honest. After work today I stopped by our local "plus size" store here in Canada, Penningtons, and thought I'd try on a pair of pants - I wasn't intending to buy just more curious than anything. So I was wearing a size 26 jeans at the time of my surgery but they were snug. I found a couple pairs of pants I liked and grabbed two sizes of each... 24s and 26s. I tried the 24's on first and they fit, and they fit comfortably!! So that seems like a NSV right? But the part that throws me off is - the weight I am right now, I was last spring/summer'ish and at that weight then a 24 wouldn't have fit me. So did I have a NSV and now the pants fit or ... since I haven't boughten jeans made by MxM (brand carried by Penningtons) in a while, maybe they're sized differently? Hmmmmm.
  6. Haydee – get well soon & you are adorable with your glasses. Terry – I have you and your family in my prayers. Laura – great B&A pictures in your blog. Kity – great NSV. Judy – you look great! Wish I had musical talent. I played the clarinet – in 5th thru 8th – but I wasn’t any good. I have also tried the piano and organ – can’t count that is my trouble. I got new glasses -- what do you think? My husband picked them out -- I have 30 days to return if I don't like them. Be honest - what do you think?

    I can see my ribs!!!

Thank you all! I really appreciate the support and I look forward to my next NSV!
  8. Wow Judy that IS an NSV!! GRATS!! Just popped in real quick to tell ya'll (I'm cookin dinner)... remember a few months ago my sister said some sheriff came looking for me? Today I got a notice that I have a registered letter from "Small Claims" under my maiden name. Curiosity killed me, so we went immediately and picked it up. Ends up, someone is suing someone with my name (different middle name though). So their Private Investigator dropped the ball, he just decided I was the same person based off of my name. Johnson. How many johnsons do you think there are around here? What a moron. So I called the attorneys office, told the lady the issue, she hangs up on me, when I call back it goes to the "We're closed" crap. Real winners there. I found his e-mail online, explained they have the wrong person and I'm not going to officially respond to the letter since it's not me.. good luck!
  9. Evening, Violets!! Flute playing went well at the funeral today. Lots of compliments on the way I looked. I haven't seen some of these people for a few months so it was great to hear their comments. I went to Peebles to check on their clearance sale and got a couple pairs of slacks in a size 12... got home and they fit with room to spare. I think I probably could have gotten away with size 10's!!! I just can't believe it! Got the pics from our New Day Singers and that was an NSV... I don't look like the heaviest lady there anymore! Cause I'm NOT!! Here are two pics... the one in pinks was taken before lap band surgery. The second in black was Tuesday evening.
  10. Hey Girlies~ Kids are watching a video on plate tectonics and I jump on here...lol! Haydee- you look cute! Sorry your not feeling well. As far as jewlery, here is my suggestion. Go to any nice store (department) like Gottschalks, Macy's, etc. Every jewlery counter (fine jewlery) has a small "on clearance" section. I always start there and find great stuff...cheap too. They are still "upscale" and nice products, but discontinued for whatever reason. Also, you can see, touch, feel the product. You can make sure the linkage is what you want, the gold quality, etc. Just my opinion. I confirmed my appt! They said they called but the number was disconnected. Are you ready for this...they still had our old area code 619...not the newer one 760. Are you kidding me??? We only changed aread codes in like 1998 or something...and THEY CHANGED TOO! What freakin idiots...and I have no patience for them today. But I am glad I get to see my doctor! OH yeah, a NSV of sorts...My new "skinnier" pants are too big. I can barely wear them...but I will for the rest of the "winter season". We are going to be 81 next week, so I might only get a few days w/ these pants. I am a bit bummed...I spent 160bucks on 3 pair of pants...and only 1 still fit. Oh well, I'll quit complaining now. Have a nice afternoon!

I had a somewhat sad NSV. For me at least. I can not wear my wedding band or my college ring anymore. They just simply fall off. I took a lot of pride in wearing both of those rings and now I can't. I am now wearing a James Avery ring. Its a silver band that is just temporary 'till I can get to a final weight and get my other rings resized. This is what my new ring looks like.

    My first NSV

Wooohooo, grats on the NSV, how exciting keep up the awesome work
  17. So I was feeling under the weather tonight and was planning on skipping my workout but for some reason I decided to go. I got on the arc trainer and started going. The man next to me started commenting on how hard the trainer was and we got into a conversation. It is totally normal for me to go for an hour sometimes 2 hours on the arc trainer but for this man he was having trouble doing 20-30 min. I kept talking to him about weight loss and my success ( I didn't mention banding---just healthy eating and exercising which is 95% of it for me). He exercised for an hour on that machine. He thanked me and told me that he burnt more than double the calories he had set as his goal. He also told me that he purposely started a conversation with me to meet me because he had heard a couple of women talking about me and my success. He wanted to talk with me and get pointers for him and his daughter. Later he called his daughter and told her all about me and now she and I are going to start working out together. It made me feel great to know that I was inspiring people. It is a little weird to think that people are talking about me, but if it inspires people to get healthy then thats great. So this is my NSV!

    Slow Losers Unite!

Hi Anne, You have done so many good things for yourself and are losing more than enough weight. Give yourself a break. You're doing great! As for your clueless friend... You teach people how to treat you. Teach her you won't allow people to speak to you that way. I have had this same issue with my mother. She thinks negative comments will motivate me. Now every time she says something stupid I call her on it. She doesn't even realize she's doing it half the time. Ugh! Brag about your victories. You have a lot to be proud of! In public is the worst. I was out to luch with the family once and spent half the time spitting my drool and slime into a toilet  To some degree, though not as bad as you mention, it should take a while for things like tuna or well chewed chicken to go down. The guide my Dr told me is take small bites, chew really well, eat about 1 cup of food, don't eat for longer that 20 min. and it should take about 3 hours until you are hungry again. With more solid foods I take a few bites and then have to wait for a small burp before I can eat more. I can tell I'm full when I start to get discomfort and often I will hickup or my nose runs. Weird, huh? My NSV: I made it to water aerobics this morning! This is a big personal victory and I'm proud of myself.
  20. Good Morning!!!!!! brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr cold cold cold today! TracyK you are entitled to a bday feast..... (just imagine if it were bday without a band) our version of a feast now... would of just pissed us off a year ago! LOL Gina: your rings being tight is a sure sign of Water retention... (its how I guage the scale everyday......) Judy: WHAT WONDERFUL NSV's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW JENN that is great!!!!!!!! sounds like you got a whole new wardrobe too... where are our update pics???????????? Haydee: I hope you start feeling better Suzie: BUNDLE UP!!!!!!!! Pam: Hope your day is wonderful!!!!!! Jane: How are you feeling today???? Terri: I am wearing your earrings again today (I wear them a lot) Kat: when do you find out your surgery date??? Good luck with the glasses Michelle: Hows the book fair planning? Denise: I've been meaining to CONGRATULATE YOU ON THE NEW HOUSE! and I keep watching your numbers... soooooo close to ONEderland. Laura: My mortgage interest and my HELOC interest is what keeps me in the black at tax time! I know I'm missing someone... (I STINK AT PERSONALS which is why I rarely do them) OK...... for my NSV......... yesterday I had my new DL pic taken.... It is better than my last one (which was taken during my latest regain at about 209)................ this one has 190 lbs and a pretty HAWT pic for a dl! when I get the hard copy in the mail I will scan and post.... (I wanted to take advantage of my hair and tan and ONEderland status) Also this morning....... I came out of my room and my son met me in the hallway and he say........ "oh momma you look so pretty today!" that just touched my heart. Going to try and get my water in today....... Have a good one!

    Where am I going wrong?

Nicole, I lost 7 lbs post op and have been floating back and forth between the 6 and 7 pound mark for days now since I began adding real foods back into my diet. After being on liquids for so long, once you begin to add real food back into your diet you sort of plateau for a while. I have seen it repeatedly on these boards. The only thing I can suggest at this point is to add more exercise. The weight will start to come off again but much more slowly than before. You will get little plunges after you get your fills, but it will come off as long as you follow all the bandster rules. As far as people constantly asking you how much, I get that as well as I told everyone! I just tell them that the band isn't as fast as bypass and that I will lose much more gradually. They will eventuallly get tired of asking and will begin to only ask when they notice that you look a lot thinner! For the BM problem I have heard that Milk of Magnesia works wonders. Congrats on the NSV!! I just had to go out and get a smaller bathing suit too and it's sooooooo cute!!! Keep up the good work and have fun on your trip!!!

    February Exercise Challege

No, you are right...I have no shame when it comes to lifting. (I will post more on that next, though!) That made me laugh when you said your arms and legs would fall off! Then I thought that about myself when it comes to the elliptical! Funny...that used to be my fave, now I don't go near it. How exciting on your NSV's! But with all the gear you guys can load onto a belt, that has to be a pain in the tucas, too! I'm sure you are only too happy to comply, though! I'm proud of you! Congrats! Oh, Karey! That is so great! I was praying for that! Now when will they be sentenced? You are starting to finally get some closure around this, which has GOT to be a relief.
  23. Haydee – get well soon! Laura & Terry – I am extremely tight today as well. I don’t know if it was the overeating and aggravating it yesterday – or just scaring the stuff from slipping thread. I have been getting in 128 oz of liquid a day (gulps are fine) – today not even 64 oz – sips every 15-20 minutes. Could it be the full moon? I haven’t had a fill since 1/10. Scale was up today 3 lbs and rings that barely stay on fingers – tight as can be. TracyK – Happy Birthday! – I personally am so proud of you to be close to goal – and know that just because you have a few pounds – it is no different that the 70 lbs – if anything more frustrating due to the fact the scale moves even more slowly the closer you get to goal. And for the record – some doctors recommend you indulge like you did today occasionally! You are doing great – this was just one day – for the overall good! Terry – How is your Mom doing? Judy - how wonderful for you to find such deals on clothing and having NSV’s! Laura – wonderful NSV for you as well. Kat – How is the tooth? You are so brave to go through the pannectomy – I can’t even think about another surgery. Tracy – love the hair/highlights! You are beautiful. Jenn – Monday will be here before you know it. Your Mom sounds wonderful and what a wonderful NSV on the sizes and that will make you even more confident on Monday! HAVE A GREAT DAY TOMORROW EVERYONE!

    I made it to Onederland!

I know it's the smaller belly for me because even when I ate slow, I was always dripping something on me. I ruined so many nice shirts/sweaters that way. Haven't had one new shirt spot lately! And another one I forgot is holding on to the stair railing. I find I don't have to as often. I would often support myself even going down to take pressure off my right knee that I had surgery on. Amazing the little things with some weight gone. I wonder what other NSV's will crop up after another 25 pounds!
  25. shortgal

    I made it to Onederland!

Thanks Sades, I know I'm just cranky because the scale went up in spite of the fact that I've been eating well and not too much. Today, I have eaten too much, just knowing the scale went up. I know I will stop sabotaging myself tomorrow. And boy, it really affirms I need a fill and I've totally changed my mind about asking for .5 cc's. I want the full 1cc's. I don't even have to overchew my food for it to go down. I guess the dress size thing can be different for two different height people depending on where each person carries their weight. For me, it's sort of evenly distributed but my worst area is below the waist and above the knees all around. My butt has shrunk a lot though. JILL, What a victory! I just can't stand the woman's sizes, they are just not made for short framed people. Pants way too long, sleeves too long etc. The shoulders on the larger sizes would fit a linebacker. Just not right for shorties. I used to be 5" and 1/2 inch. I think I shrunk to 5 feet even. Even petite clothes can be too long for me, especially sleeve length. No wonder I can't reach anything in the kitchen cabinets! Although as my belly gets smaller, I can get closer to the counter and reach a little better. And all this time, I thought I couldn;t reach as well because I was shrinking! One NSV I've had is: I don't seem to drip food on my shirts anymore, as I lost weight I guess I am able to bend over the table better and I have fewer spills. And I can put my shoes and socks on without angling my body to the side around my belly. Ok Thanks everyone, I feel better now! I will salvage this day and make tomorrow even better. I can hang in until next Tuesdays fill. I love my fellow November Nymphs. My husband is just no good at helping me over these hurdles. He's very supportive, but just doesn't know the right words I need to hear. I think it's a Mars/Venus thing.
