    Road to "TWOterville"

Too funny, Libra...I am wearing a pair of comfy jammies that I've had before surgery and I'm hanging on to them until they fall off too! It's a little goal I've set for myself. They're size 28 and they look terrible on me but my belly still keeps them up enough to wear. Hopefully they won't be around for next Winter! Molly, you are just doing so great. I'm so glad to see you with so much motivation. You are just going to rock this year, I can feel it! As far as an NSV...I actually bought two outfits from Walmart yesterday from the "normal" section. They're size 16 shirts and skirts for work. They fit on me but I also had to spend $20 on supportive granny panties so that I don't look like the Michelin Man when I wear them to work!!! I knew I could fit 16W's and never realized there was 16W in the plus section then regular 16's in the "normal" section. I am just barely in the "normal" 16's. I'm a dork-I've NEVER shopped in this section so I don't even know what that size is called. All I've realized is that there's no "W" afterward!! It felt so ackward...I thought some alarm might go off with an announcement..."There's an intruder in the normal section...she doesn't belong there...get her!" But, no such announcement and I made it through just fine!!
  4. Hey Layknee - just think about where you're posting this comment We're all so positive and talking about our NSV's; how wonderful we feel about ourselves after surgery etc. Why would you not want that for your friend too?
  5. Bought my first real pair of cowboy boots because my calves fit! Huge NSV Ignore the mess lol Sent from my SM-G975U using BariatricPal mobile app
  6. I am experiencing new NSV victories every day! 🤗 Yesterday, dh and I went to the beach…he has to find a new boat slip. I walked around the cutest little town (3000 steps) and did not have to sit and get my breath because of that damned hiatal hernia. 🎉🎉🎉🎉 THEN, we went to the beach! On memorial day weekend I couldn’t take 3 steps without being short of breath. Yesterday we walked on the beach for 1 mile and I didn’t Have to stop at all. Additionally, usually on any walk prior to surgery, my heart rate would be 138 when exercising to my max, and now I only get to 116! I am beyond thrilled! My surgeon told me I would absolutely be able to run again after recovering. 🤗
  7. I feel this! I went out last week on Friday to the bars and walked 4 miles and went dancing. My friend who is a bit heavier was complaining of being sore the next day and I didn't feel any soreness when in the past, my legs and knees would've been in pain. Def an NSV for me. 8. It’s funny how I still find myself doing something & suddenly realise there was no way I would have been able to do it before surgery. Yesterday I was standing in one leg undoing my laces to take my shoes off. Not sitting & not heaving up my leg to try to reach the laces. Just standing on one leg with the other leg raised by itself & being able to balance & reach to undo the lace without even thinking about it. Even after two years you still discover little nsv.
  9. I love a cross body handbag. My NSV is having to shorten the strap because the bag hangs way to low now that my back is so much thinner.
  10. I finally had to go shopping for jeans. I have went up and down so much over the years I had a HUGE range of sizes so I have been just working through the clothes I had in my closet. Well 2 NSV's this weekend: 1, I have shrunk out of all the stocked sizes, which means I am officially the smallest I have been in my adult life! 2, Size 16 fits loose! 14 is uncomfortably tight but did (barely) button! (Started my journey at a size 26)
  11. so i recently lost 3 lbs. not the downside-of-a-normal-daily-weight-fluctuation-loss, or a oh-i-just-had-a-mega-poop kinda loss, but an ACTUAL 3 lbs loss that has stayed off based on a 2 week moving weight average. now everyone and my mother has said something or other in the past couple weeks in the tune of "omigod are you losing weight?!?" or "you're not on a diet AGAIN are you?!!". didn't give it much thought until this AM when i asked my Mr this morning if he thinks i look thinner these days and he nodded (i can always count in him on a low-key, no-big-deal kinda response). so i guess it is noticeable? anyway the point of this is that when i was much heavier, no one would even notice (nor comment) on any appearance change in me if/when i lost up to 20-25 lbs (including Mr.). but now, at 3 measly lbs loss, somehow the world is ending to the busybody-nation. sometimes i feel like i have to defend being thinner as much as i had to defend being heavier. not really an NSV, more of an annoyance (the comments)...and also just another thing that thought u were done with, but not really. 🤷🏻‍♀️
  12. Had an unexpected NSV today. I went to the doc and they had me pee in a cup. So, I did and I COULD SEE THE CUP as I did it. No more just sort of guessing where to put it. lol
  13. Some recent nsv's - Not having the shower curtain stick to my body while showering - Not being sweaty in 100 degree weather -In fact I find I am washing my clothes less because I dont sweat at all - Weird but I had bad body odor around my breasts when I was heaviest because I sweated so much there and now I don't have that issue at all -my calves fit into high boots -I can wear most women's XLs and Ls (before I was an xxxl+) -I can go thrifting now. Nothing fit me before at most thrift stores but I can easily find clothes in the large and xl racks. - my friends telling me that I don't need to use a plus size dating app anymore lol and meeting a guy off of the app who asked me why I was using a plus size dating app [emoji854] Sent from my SM-G975U using BariatricPal mobile app
  14. Being in my friend's snapchats and pictures and literally not recognizing myself. An interesting nsv for sure. Sent from my SM-G975U using BariatricPal mobile app
  15. BTW, there are WAYYY TOOOO many NSV to list! I am constantly in AWE of the things I can DO, move my body, the new size LARGE shorts that are LOOSE as I try them on for the FIRST time! Things I would have never even THOUGHT about attempting. SOOOO much more than ‘how I LOOK’. A bicycle, at 50! Who would have thought!
  16. How is everyone doing? Just had my 4th monthly follow up with the programs APRN. We set a goal for me to be below 300lbs by my six month follow up with the surgeon. I'm super thrilled with my progress so far. Lots of little NSVs lately, fitting in chairs/cars way easier now, my thighs are starting to look noticeably smaller when sitting down. I had to add notches to my belts the other day.

Victorious Valentines - Feb. 08 - MASTER THREAD!

You're right Shiny, a very cool NSV! (I don't think I've done a jumpting jack since high school - many decades ago!!)
  18. In my current state (162kg), my belly almost touches the steering wheel when I'm driving. (SEE PIC) Theres 20mm (0.8 inch) between me and the bottom of the wheel with the seat right back. I well remember a 100mm (or 4 inch) gap when I was down to 131kg in early 2016. I want that feeling and better. It'd be nice to give the passenger behind me some leg room. :-) The eventual hernia op next year will help too. A great NSV to look forward to ...

    JULY 2014 SLEEVERS GROUP

I think the focus should not be only the scale but also non-scale victories NSVs....I fit xyz better, I'm able to A longer, etc. also remember you may not be losing weight but you may be losing inches. Take measurements and do comparisons. Also I think slower weightloss helps with your skin elasticity and having less sagging skin. Be positive the surgeries work and you're doing your part....it will all fall in place!!

Any APRIL SLEEVERS? Let me know your progress !

NSV: starting size 20 Current size: 14!
  21. My First NSV. I went to the hairdressers at 50 pounds lighter and thought she had bought new chairs because I had so much room in them. Deep joy
  22. Anybody here had knee pain that got better after surgery? When that happens for me, it'll be a HUGE nsv. It's gotten a lot better 57 lbs later but still have pain when going up the stairs. Sent from my SM-G975U using BariatricPal mobile app
  23. While I wouldn't call it "weird", as this topic asks (and I can't find a regular-NSV thread): My rosacea has gone! It literally vanished about six days out of hospital, and hasn't come back. My skin hasn't been this clear in a LONG time, and I can't recall the last time my face was the same colour as my neck. Was not expecting this bonus, as I have reactive skin, but I am thrilled.
  24. So this caught my attention...I was chaperone at my schools homecoming Dance and I guarded a door the majority of the night, not complaining, my students found me and said hi. What struck me as a NSV is in my"fancy dress" I could cross my legs at my knees and keep them crossed with very little effort. I didn't need to hold on to my legs and frankly 3 months ago I couldn't cross my legs at the knees, I could only cross ankle to knee and I had to hold onto my foot to keep it there. I felt so refined. It was nice.
