    How's my calories?

You are approaching the famous 3 week stall. Happens to everyone. The best advice I can offer is to stay off the scale. I only weighed like 3 times in the 1st month postop. Eating healthy and creating new habits are more important than the scale at this point. Just concentrate on AT LEAST 60g of protein, 64oz. water and your vitamins. I've never counted calories, so I can't help you with that silly "numbers game".
  2. Completely normal!!! I was about a week post ok and I kept thinking what have I done!!! Had my 1st emotional break down at 2 weeks post op. I think it was just lack of carbs I am now 3 weeks post op and feeling 100x better. Once you heal and u find a normalcy in your routine and diet it makes it much easier. My scales have slowed down this week (dreaded 3 week stall) but our finally moving again. It's definitely life changing. Keep your head up! It will get better

    OCTOBER 2014

@@Beni I have been reading the message boards and a lot of people talk about the 3 week stall. I feel like I've slowed down too! I don't know how much I've lost other than the two week weigh in. Hang in there! Maybe call your nutritionist? I see mine next week.
  5. Is there another stall? Thought I already had the 3 week stall.

    OCTOBER 2014

I'm Oct 23rd!!! Been is a stall for a couple days. (Someone referred to it as the dreaded 3 week stall) Dr wants to start me on Actigal because I had such a large loss already. Says it's to protect my Gall bladder. It's $400 a month though!!!!! Ugh punishment for losing weight too fast? Lol can't wait to see everyone's progress!!
  7. Yes, ON MY SCALE! I started to notice that I give my scale foreplay when I walk in the bathroom, my husband always says "are u really?!?!?!?" But yes, I begin to say things like, I know you're goin to love me today, please be nothing but good to me, show me nothing but love, go ahead, give it to me, I can take it, then I close my eyes and get on and OMG, let it be .5 less and I have all the sweetest accolades and pet names in the world. So yes, after a 3 week stall, I literally picked it up and kissed it this morning, 4lbs down after I thought I pigged out a bit this weekend. I say pigged out, really means since I ate a whole half a chicken sandwich WITH cheese...SHHHH, I felt bloated all day...smh. But lo and behold, it was still Protein and it was still in my benefit, so the scale continued on it's downward spiral!!!! WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO!!! P.S. That also means, "THIS CHICK" is less than 200lbs for the first time in 17 Years!!!!! GOOO meee, GOOOO uuuuuuuu!!!!!!! Weeeeee doin it together!!!!
  8. I am 5 weeks post op today...........I skipped the 3 week stall, but I'm having it now. I've lost 30 lbs so far but the scale hasn't moved in 4 days. I'm ok with that since I read about the dreaded 3 week stall.......I guess I'm just slow. =) I'm not able to get in 60 g of Protein yet. All Protein shakes make me gag. I am great with my Fluid intake though. I'm good with taking all my Vitamins. I'm working on getting the protein in. I feel like all I do all day is eat because I can only get in a couple bites before I feel full. This is definitely a process. =) You're doing AWESOME!!!
  9. Stalling at three weeks out is completely normal. It happens to everyone. Use the search function here and look for "3 week stall" or "third week stall" or "dreaded three week stall" and you'll see what I mean. Keep following the program your doctor gave you and stay off the scale for a while - that will help you stress less about it, because there really isn't anything you can do other than wait it out. Good luck!
  10. Congratulations ! I was sleeved the next day on the 8th. High weight was 228. Surgery day was 216 and today 198 !!! Also lost 6 inches of my dreaded belly fat ! Yahoo! Luckily I didn't have the 3 week stall.

    Losing slower?

I hit that 3 week stall at like a week and a half. It lasted a full 3 weeks and since then, I have been losing very slowly. Same as you with calories and Protein. I've been working out 4-5 days a week as well. I have a follow up appt today and am taking my food journal in to my dietitian to see if she has any ideas.
  12. Hi all. I am now in the dreaded 3 week stall and I am trying really hard not to freak out about it because it is sort of expected, at least out here in "patient land". My Dr.Never mentioned it. The question is do you think that we elders lose slower than the youngsters? I am 4 weeks post op, I am in a stall and I have only lost 9 lbs since surgery, at least according to my scale. (The Drs scale reads heavier, but that is due to randon times of day, fully dressed vs buck naked, etc) If you include pre-op diet, I have lost a more respectable 21 lbs and over all I am happy with that, but I guess I was expecting more. I feel like I am eating nothing getting in my 70 gs of Protein and 7-900 cals/day. Barry
  13. First, don't compare yourself to others (but FYI, I lost nothing the first week and a half and it took me 3 months to lose 30 pounds. I was thrilled. I considered myself lucky because losing slowly is much healthier) Second, you are losing so whats the problem Three, you are approaching the famous 3 week stall so you may not lose anything for a couple weeks. It's normal. Fourth, this surgery is meant to be a lifetime commitment, not a race to see how fast you can take off the weight it took years (or decades) to put on. Your goal should be eating healthy and establishing new habits, not watching numbers. I suggest staying off the scale for 1-2 months. Measure your progress with NSV's rather than meaningless numbers on the scale. I don't even own a scale at only weighed at the doctor's office for the first couple months. You are adding unnecessary stress to your life by worrying about these things. Just get in all your Protein, Water and Vitamins, and trust the process.

    Any fort worth tx sleevers?

I used Dr. Stowers from my Bariatric Solutions. He was amazing! They have a great follow up care. I am almost 4 weeks out now and doing great! I am in the dreaded 3 week stall currently but feeling great! How is everyone else doing?
  18. The scale is finally moving!!! 250.6 this morning! Hopefully the 3 week stall is over an I can get close to my thanksgiving goal of 240????
  19. I stalled in my second month for weeks. And just finished another 3 week stall at 4 months. But looking at your diet, you have a lot of carbs throughout the day. A pita , sub sandwich bread, crackers, etc. I find that when I truly eat my protein first by itself then I get full so fast. If I add those carbs, it seems I can eat more. However, that being said, I have had many meals with all sorts Of carbs as well. Can't help it, I love it. I was just kind of surprised with how much you can eat at 2 months. There is no way I could eat a subway kids meal. Or I could not eat the eggs and pita unless I nibbled on it for hours. I'm not trying to be mean or critical because I am in no way working my program as a die hard, but I wanted to add to the thread. I think we all have to use trial and error to guide our way through this journey

October 2014 sleevers check in please!

Hi everyone! I was sleeved on 10/7. Has anyone else hit the " 3 week stall yet?"

    Should I expect a stall?

Odds are you will stall at some point. But it sounds like you are mentally prepared to roll with it. I skipped the 3 week stall (at least I think I did, I never weighed very often early on). But I hit a month long stall at 6 weeks out. In fact, I gained 3 pounds, but dropped a whole pant size in that month. Just goes to show the numbers are irrelevent. Good for you on your company WLS policy! I am self employed and there are no individual plans available in my state that cover WLS so I went self pay to Mexico. At least I had a big medical deduction on my Schedule A last year!

    Weight loss, anyone?

It's called the 3 week stall and everyone has them. Its famous. Do a search for stalls on here or better yet, check out the sub forum "don't sweat the stall stuff". There are so many posts from newbies about the same old stalls thatAlex created a forum just for you. But my best advice is just stick with the plan, enjoy the journey and STAY OFF THE SCALE!

  24. Peek!- Did you get your ticket to work? I'm on my iPhone and they don't show up anyway. And I TOTALLY agree; this is an AWESOME group! KimR- Whoot, Whoot! 11 pounds!! How does it feel to know they are never, ever coming back?! Also, can I come over for some delicious soup? I promise I don't eat much haha =) Chellede!- You are a strong woman! I promised I wouldn't weigh myself everyday, but here I am, weighing everyday. How is your allergic reaction doing? Was it to whatever glue your dr used? You might be nearing the first stall... I know for most it hits at 3 weeks, but some people I've seen on here get it much earlier. Are you counting calories? I know there is no way I can eat a whole cup of soup right now. I can only eat about 2 oz still lol. And it takes forever and a day! I know different Drs have different diet plans though. I'm 100% sure if you are sticking to whatever your plan is, you will lose the weight you want =) Jen- Good luck tomorrow! I know you will do great! Deb- Super glad your surgery went well! RM- I'm also 9 days out and experiencing the same things. My weight loss this morning was only (LOL) 0.9 pounds. It's just funny for me because before when I was on a diet, I would be extremely happy with that loss for an entire week! We are getting closer and closer to the 3 week stall. That's the only thing I can thing of. We just need to keep doing our plans and *try* super hard not to get frustrated! My incisions also still are sore, especially when I stand up or bend down. My mom and friend both said their incision pain lasted about a month. I go for my post op appointment tomorrow- I will ask about it and report back! Does anyone else think their food tastes like CRAP?! I drink a little diluted 100% fruit juice to keep my energy levels up. I loved every kind of juice before surgery, especially white grape. Now, I have to make myself drink it! Also, strained cream of mushroom soup is now the bain of my existence!

    OCTOBER 2014

I was pretty much back to pre surgery weight at my 1 week post op appointment too. I haven't weighed in a few days, since I'm coming up on the dreaded 3 week stall I have vowed to only weight once a week, I'm doing that on Thursday Morn.
