    January 2007 Bandsters Excerise Challenge

Jacks that is great! You are doing so good. Keep it up! Today a coworker brought in some Breakfast burritos, and I didn't have one (NSV for me)!! Sunshine- I'm in for the challenge. Excited about starting! I'll be pushing myself to do my treadmill daily for the 45min walking and jogging. I want this to turn into a healthy habit. Last night I did 25 minutes...boo hiss...I'm a slacker.

    Any July 2011 Bandsters?

Oh, the head games!!! I could so totally work my way around this pre-op diet if I let myself by working out "equivalents" and then eating, eating, eating. I'm having to fight that urge. And yeah, I've had the "Hey! I could lose the weight THIS way instead!" thoughts. But clearly, I can't. Or at least, I can't KEEP the weight off. But I made it all the way through my first pre-op diet day without cheating. I'm counting this as my first NSV. (Baby steps. I have to take this in baby steps.) I'm practicing using my creativity--the kind that would usually allow me to rationalize cheating on the pre-op diet--to work on coming up with interesting ways to spice up my Protein shakes. For my last shake of the day, I used vanilla powder and added pineapple chunks, skim milk, imitation coconut flavor, and imitation rum flavor, then blended it up with ice. It tasted like a piña colada. Yum!!! Anyone else reading Bandwagon? I'm really enjoying it; it has a lot of good advice/information.

    July Butterflies Master Thread

NSV Alert: I went shopping in my closet this morning and was able to fit into several outifits I haven't been able to fit into in well over 2 years. Great outfits I love!

    Any January 2010 Bandsters????

Had my monthly appointment with my surgeon today. According to their scale I lost 14 pounds since last month. Woo! (I want their scale at home, I only lost 9 according to mine!) I didn't get a fill today. So far, no fill and have lost 20 pounds since surgery, 39 since start of pre-op liquid diet. Only 50-ish left to go! I've been blessed with not being hungry. I still crave bad for me food all the damn time, but I don't have the physical hunger anymore. If I keep myself busy I can usually ignore the craving long enough that it goes away or I just forget about it! That has to be my favorite part of having my band! NSV's - I'm wearing size 14 jeans, training for a 5K, am able to shop in normal stores, can run up the stairs without my legs collapsing/lungs gasping, and best of all - I have collar bones and hip bones for the first time in my adult life!!! Life is definitely good!

    Everything really is different now

All amazing points made, @@gowalking The more insidious things have to be pointed out to you, and yes, this site focusing way more on sudden NSVs than gradual ones. For example, HR told me today that I needed new pants and that I was starting to look like a bum because they are too big and so is my belt. I was mortified, and wondered if I should even have categorized it as an NSV. However, the incident got me thinking about how people now actually stop and chat at my desk (not just about weight loss) now and ask to go grab lunch and ask me to be in pictures at work functions. My relationship with food isn't different, in full disclosure. I can just feed it less. But while some things in our non-food lives still have to be address on their own, this aspect is truly different. Thank you for pointing it out.

    List of NSVs

I've plateaued for over a month, and instead if feeling down about it, I wanted to share a little about how my life has changed in the past 3 months: * Went from a 4x to a 2x in tops * Went from a 26/28 to a 22 in bottoms * I can fit in chairs with arms * I can fit in a stadium seat * I can fit in a movie theater seat * I can fit in a restaurant booth * I went roller skating * I can run after my 4 year old at the park * I don't sweat profusely anymore * I can use a backseat seatbelt, and fit in the backseat of a car * Training for a 5k. What?!! * I can still breathe when I bend over to tie my shoes * I put a recent picture of myself on Facebook, lol I know there are more, but this is a huge difference for me. I used to stay indoors all the time, I would get winded from short walks and my body would hurt so bad with any physical activity. I stayed away from a lot of social activities because of my size. I'm not afraid to try something new now. I know it's super cliche, but I feel like I have my life back.

    Marchies Bandiversary Month

I have way too much to do today here at work, but I had to stop and share this NSV with you guys. I was outside just a minute ago and my back was to the sun. I looked at my shadow and there is light between my legs. I went inside and got the ruler from my desk and check that my feet were only 3 ½ inches apart. My legs used to touch from the knees up!! All I can say is holy crap!! Now back to work with another smile plastered on my face all day long.

    Any October Bandsters!??!?!

Hi everyone! We're another day closer to our journey to fitness! Hope everyone has a wonderful day. I'm making my wish list today. All the things I have always wanted to be able to do but haven't been comfortable to do so because of my weight. I want to keep this so if the scale isn't moving as fast as I may like, I can look for NSV's like the things on my list. Meshultz~ I'm going to tell my family, but I'll wait til they're back from their vacation.. I don't want them to spend their vacation worrying abotu me, LOL. I know I'll need the support and understanding to know shove food in my face just "because it's tiime to eat"...

    Late June Sleeve Buddies?

Checking in! I am feeling very good, down 29-30 lbs. I was in a stall, then dropped 4, now I'm stalled again...but it honestly doesn't phase me, i know i won't be stalled forever! I am feeling very normal as well, i have been dealing with a bit of acid reflux, but i take the pepcid and it goes away immediately. I need to keep up on my Water, prescriptions, and Vitamins. Not doing a good job AT. ALL. Otherwise I've been eating with my family during meals, went out to dinner etc etc. I have a few sips of wine when out at a social event, but otherwise no drinking. Still miss overeating sometimes (especially when my kids wanted pizza night lol!) But overall i am SO GLAD i had this surgery. I love that even now I'm fitting into new clothes and people are noticing my weight loss. NSV: Yesterday i bought a size 18 jeans in the misses dept!!!! Haven't bought from the non-plus size dept and under size 20-24 in FOREVER. What's everybody's NSV? Share one if you have one!!! Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
  10. Proud Proud Proud of your success! I couldn't believe it,my last new jeans are 22, the dress slacks and top I am going to wear to my EGJ tomorrow is a bono fire 20, after starting out in 28-30W, and. "do you have anything in the Mens section because I'm not finding much here" My baby NSV, I am now In ladies, heading to Juniors, no more cross- shopping looking for something to cover my body! I would "cry for happy"except there is so much better selection the smaller I go and I don't want to miss a durn thing hanging or folded there!👗👚👕👖The baggy saggy sweats are going Bye Bye! The body may be still above average but then so am I! After all, average is just as close to the bottom as it is the top. And if I am a little Odd, well Number One has always been. an ODD Number! Power to the Less Plump Princess, I'm gonna be Weight Loss Royalty#🏆
  11. I can relate so hard to all of the above but the biggest NSV for me recently was that a few weeks ago we discovered that my 10 year old can actually put his arms all the way around me when I hug him now! Now he loves to "trap" me in a hug! Could not be sweeter!!!
  12. A couple of NSVs that have me happy in the past few weeks. First, I haven't taken metformin since surgery, and my A1C is 5.3. Woo hoo! I'd been concerned but seeing that number made me really happy. Secondly, I had my cardiologist check in today, and my echocardiogram is looking a little better! We'll see where we are in a year, but he is really happy with my progress. We may even need to drop my blood pressure medication again. The third one happened today at the pool. I managed to get out of the pool using one of the ladders instead of the steps. That was an exciting and unexpected win!
  13. I feel this! I went out last week on Friday to the bars and walked 4 miles and went dancing. My friend who is a bit heavier was complaining of being sore the next day and I didn't feel any soreness when in the past, my legs and knees would've been in pain. Def an NSV for me. Sent from my SM-G975U using BariatricPal mobile app
  14. Being in my friend's snapchats and pictures and literally not recognizing myself. An interesting nsv for sure. Sent from my SM-G975U using BariatricPal mobile app
  15. Great NSV...... I was out to lunch with some friends today and when I went to pay my bill, I pulled out my driver's license. Guess what?? The weight is wrong!! But now its wrong in the right direction!! I'm almost 20 lb LESS than what it says!! :whoo::whoo::whoo::whoo::whoo::whoo::whoo:
  16. Denise, you probably are in a plateau phase right now. I believe that both the body and the intellect do go through these periods. When I was living in France and trying to learn French I noticed that I would go through spells of mopping up the language and these would be followed by fallow periods, periods of real frustration for me. Have you been paying attention to your NSVs or are you just relying on scale numbers?
  17. Two new NSV’s: most of my necklaces I have always needed an extender for, but this week I was able to wear one of my favorites without an extender. When I went for a drs appt, my doctor proudly stated… I’m soon going to need the regular blood-pressure cuff for you! Progress has been slow… slower than I’d like, but things seem to be moving in the right direction still.
  18. It’s funny how I still find myself doing something & suddenly realise there was no way I would have been able to do it before surgery. Yesterday I was standing in one leg undoing my laces to take my shoes off. Not sitting & not heaving up my leg to try to reach the laces. Just standing on one leg with the other leg raised by itself & being able to balance & reach to undo the lace without even thinking about it. Even after two years you still discover little nsv.
  19. My First NSV. I went to the hairdressers at 50 pounds lighter and thought she had bought new chairs because I had so much room in them. Deep joy
  20. This is sort of a NSV and sort of a society fail. [emoji849] I've always been a very friendly, talkative person, who will talk to anyone, and I noticed after I got really fat soemtimes when I would talk to people they would not be friendly back or act uncomfortable, and people hardly ever started conversations with me. It caused me to develop a bubble over the years and talk to fewer people. I thought people had just gotten less friendly overall. We just joined our local rec center and I was at the pool with my son yesterday, and I had several people just randomly start conversations with me. This hardly EVER happened when I weighed almost 400 pounds. I can't even call this a victory because it's really sad that those same people might not have talked to me before, even though I'm the same person. Based on the way I look on the outside, suddenly I'm worth talking to. Of course, I could be just imagining all of this, but I don't think I am. Sent from my Pixel 5a using BariatricPal mobile app
  21. Weird nsv as of late. I used to be a size 11 in women's shoes at target. I recently bought a new pair of sneakers from target and had to get a 10. Now that I'm wearing them they're actually too loose and I could've went down to a 9 or 9.5. I didn't realize your feet get smaller when losing lbs. Sent from my SM-G975U using BariatricPal mobile app
  22. I love a cross body handbag. My NSV is having to shorten the strap because the bag hangs way to low now that my back is so much thinner.
  23. I finally had to go shopping for jeans. I have went up and down so much over the years I had a HUGE range of sizes so I have been just working through the clothes I had in my closet. Well 2 NSV's this weekend: 1, I have shrunk out of all the stocked sizes, which means I am officially the smallest I have been in my adult life! 2, Size 16 fits loose! 14 is uncomfortably tight but did (barely) button! (Started my journey at a size 26)
  24. NSV!!!!!! i was just here on my phone replying to another thread. And I moved my hand down my chest to find my fingers hitting my bra cup....a big gap by the way. I didn't realize it. The band is too large, I knew. I'm happy they're going down too!!! Had to take a pic!!! My seven year old in my lap. Lol the only time y'all will see a piece of my booby hahaha
  25. Hurray for the NSV @Newme17. Sometimes when you give kids healthy choices they surprise us. Kudos to your daughter. My grandson loves fruit so I try to always have some in the house. i really need to get my eye brows done and my roots are really looking gray.
