    Anti depressants post op

Sleeved 10/24/17, no trouble taking wellbutrin SR 150 pills 2 days after surgery - SR is sustained release, not extended - 1 in the morning, 1 at 3pm However, I have taken 100 IR, immediate release before, and it dumps so fast it makes me cry for no reason - so beware of that possibility. Your doc seems weird about no pills for a year w/o crushing them? Good luck.
  3. My starting weight was 230 and I'm 5'2. I got on the scale and its 220 [emoji16] wow almost exact weight. I was 240 a few weeks before surgery but lost 10 pounds. I lost my mom on dec 20th and I had the surgery on the 26th which was her bday. I am just lost without her. She wanted me to get surgery so I went ahead with it. Just sad she won't ever see my progress. I can't do the protein shakes so I'm eating scrambled egg and water and some carnation instant breakfast. I've also had some soup. I hope my dr isn't pissed at me tomorrow for actually eating stuff. Tonight I had a little mashed potatoes too. They were sooo good [emoji16] I also made some steamed carrots that I pureed. Wasn't hungry for those so will have to be for tomorrow. Jeannine [emoji8]

Two and a Half Years Post Surgery

It's a new year. This is a perfect time to recommit to your plan. A great place to start is joining the January 2019 weight loss challenge. Thanks @GreenTealael for creating it. https://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/421742-❤-january-2019-challenge-❤/?page=2&tab=comments#comment-4731341 I had my first gain in my third year. I got complacent with my diet. (Extra calories, carbs and old habits) I went back to basics and worked back to my maintaining weight. Four years out and I have gained during the holidays. I am back in weight loss mode working it down. It's slow but I'll take it.

Has anyone kept their surgery a secret?

I am a pretty private person, I only told the people I know and trust. I am in a group of 10 people who are in the same phase. One of the women is from the home town of my parents. Boy, do I regret telling her that! Apparantly she gossipped and my mom, who was doing grocery shopping, got asked by a someone random if I were to have the gastric surgery 😕 Why, oh why do people talk about other people. Xapphirea, it has always been thus.

    Pouch Reset /Pouch Test

I’m on my 4th day of the 10 day pouch reset, it’s been good for me. I’m feeling better and trying to break the bad habits I picked up. I down 4lbs. I know it’s just water weight, it makes me happy that I’m putting my needs first.
  12. Hi all, I’m currently 7 months post op, and wanting to know what everyone’s meals are like quality and quantity wise this far PO. I believe I’m still eating very small for someone this far out. I’m having 4-5 small meals a day 4-5 ounces roughly 120 grams. A normal day for me consists of multiple cups of coffee with skim milk 300-500ml of skim milk a day. Breakfast: Oats with blueberries and strawberry Mid meal: Protein shake 20g protein Lunch: Meat and veggies 100-140 grams (Chicken, Fish, Prawns, Beef Tuna etc) Afternoon tea: 30 grams of nuts Dinner: Meat and veggies 100-140 grams (Chicken, Fish, Prawns, Beef Tuna etc) I’ve reached past my goal weight by 10kg so I’m more after the answer as to whether the amount I’m eating is sufficient enough (quantity). Cheers.

    September 2018

Ah Darlin', this is not a normal and logical situation sweet Frustr8 is in. I am the rarer , watch out for your surgeon might have skimmed over talking about. I have a stomal stricture in Precious Pouch, and she has 2 ulcers also, on the back wall of my jejunem- the portion of small intestine the pouch attaches to, I have 3 more angry ulcers and the potential to ulcerate on down toward the ileum. I have had 4 endoscopy scopings, on every EGJ is still was not healing up, solider foods can't pass through, so I was on a liquid diet and still am, in theory. After my last scope I was hospitalized, that was November 28th, on the 29th a PICC LINE was established in my upper left arm, snakes through the venous tree, 48 cm, roughly 19 inches long, the tip is located in my superior Vena Cava, and rests only a couple inches from the right atrium , the upper chamber of my ❤. The line rested for a day then on the 30th TPN, which stands for Total Parenterel Nutrition, I get a feeding solution pumped in, I was on 14 hours on, 10 off daily, I just graduated? to a 12-12 cycle on January 1sr, I can try 1 meal of liquid something daily if I desire but the solution supplies my nutritional needs as it is. 1430 calories of goodness, Wowser that's about twice what I was taking when I was feeding by mouth. I simply count not ingest the 90-120 grams of protein Dr Noria says I needed to heal the verdompt ulcers, so this is an easier way for me. Oh I wasn't TOO THRILLED to have this happen to me, my son and I learned the steps so we do it all ourself, no stupid home health nurses having to do it. Twice a week I have blood draws, luckily they can remove blood from the PICC line, better than having someone go up and down my arms looking for an non- rolling surface vein. I used to look like someone threw rocks at me. I have lost over 100 pounds from my highest weight, lost 15 pounds on my liver shrinking diet in August , and close to 50 since my surgery September 5th, for a while I was protein poor and nearly malnourished , I was losing weight like a sea-sick anorexic sailor, nice losing but it was pushing me me into a depletion corner. Weighed myself last week at my Primary Care while my son was doing his appointment, looked like I was stalled by came home , did a giant #2, had to flush 3 times so I have to weigh less, tomorrow is blood draw and then appointment at Primary care for me, why they couldn't have booked us same day, is beyond my comprehension. But anyhoo, I shall weigh and see.And PICC stands for Peripherally Inserted Central Cathetern see you're getting a mini-tutorial today. How much longer will I have it? I have a surgeon appointment the 15th, another endoscopy the 25th with his Partner Dr Noria who love love loves doing them, she is also is a super competent Bariatric, Gastrointestinal and does do General Surgery but Endoscopy is her " Bang Zone" I really like her and Dr,Needleman, and have to believe they have a Plan of Care and have my best interests at ❤ but this sure is not the scenario I had planned for myself.👈😡👉💉💊

    Protein powder

It's preferred to eat your protein as much as possible then supplement with shakes. https://eas.com/advantedge-products I like all their AdvantEdge products! The RTD is not thick or chalky. Powders are great for shakes or recipes. Only ones I haven't tied are the high protein RTD & the soy powder. What helps with making shakes with powder is using something like this, adding crushed ice if you like it like a milkshake. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Farberware-10-Piece-Single-Serve-Blender-Set/146468554

    ❤ JANUARY 2019 CHALLENGE ❤

Ok, I'm in! SW: 287.4lbs CW: 150.4lbs GW #2: 140lbs GW #3: 130lbs 10.5 months post op RNY I'm at #1 goal weight, but I want to lose more!!! I want to see if I can destroy my thunder thighs once and for all! Goals Consume 60-74g or more Protein per day Take all my Vitamins Get in 100+ oz Fluid a day Start logging faithfully Start exercising again today! Walk 1hour 6 days per week, and add in strength training and core building exercises 3 days per week. I too have grown complacent over the holidays and it shows. Even though my weight and waist size are stable and the same as they were pre-holiday, from looking at my pics, it looks like I'm "soft" and spongy? Like my tummy is bigger and my thighs look flabbier!! Grrrr!!! More thigh rub! Ok....I'm a do this thing! (Sorry, I still have 1 MORE Christmas to celebrate this weekend and presents left to be wrapped. It's the Christmas that never ends! *sigh*) Here's my starting pic - 1/1/2019

    ❤ JANUARY 2019 CHALLENGE ❤

I'm in! SW: 243 CW: 137.8 GW: 135 11 months post op Small caveat, my current weight is last time I weighed myself on 12/27. I won't get back to a scale until 1/4, and I'll try to remember to weigh in. I'm at goal weight, so I don't necessarily want to lose more (unless I can choose where the weight comes from ). The 135 was my recent post WLS low weight. Goals Consume 50 g or more protein per day Take all my Vitamins Get in 64 oz fluid a day Start logging again I know, back to basics. I've gotten very complacent the last few months as I approached goal. But I know for my long term health I need to get more protein in and take my vitamins. On a practical note I have a sh*t ton of protein supplements, so I need to get through those. Pantry clean out challenge as well! The hydration thing, meh, I'm not a true believer , but I do know if I drink more, I eat less, so there is that. And I need to start logging again so I can find the balance between losing, gaining and maintaining. Here's my starting pic - 1/1/2019
  21. Challenge End Tally: Challenge Starting weight: 148.4lbs Current Weight: 150.4lbs Curre1nt weight lost: 138.6lbs (Beginning Wt. 287lbs) Losing or maintaining weight: Losing!!!!! (hopefully or at least maintaining) Working on Goal#2 - 140lbs Fitness/exercise goal: Exercise 6-7 days per week with 3 days being strength building with bands Total weight loss at the end of challenge: (Post January 1st 2019) 151.4lbs (+2lbs) Check in: Tell us how you are doing - (How is your diet and exercise plan going? Any struggles? Stress level? What have you overcome? Any strategies that have helped)--I'm finished the challenge strong, but sick with a yucky cold. Very little stress heading into January. Don't have any worries about over eating or eating "the wrong things." Although, clearly I indulged over Christmas. In between indulgences I was able to modify my eating and make "cuts" to keep cals/carbs low to try to offset the more liberal "treat" meals/alcohol. Very little exercise during this time, because our schedules were so busy and I didn't have the energy to exercise on top of how active I was. Am off all meds now except Letrozole, thyroid, and supplements. BP is in remission, blood sugars/insulin in remission, cancer in remission, asthma in remission, degenerative arthritis in remission, pain is reduced over 50%, sleeping has improved 100%. Thank you so much for doing this challenge @Healthy_life!!! Although I suck at them (as you can see), I do think it helped keep me from going completely off-track this holiday season!!! I'm actually pretty proud to only be 2lbs up after Christmas. I'm used to it being 10lbs at least! So I kinda feel like I was able to "maintain my current weight" even though I'm not at goal yet. You rock girlie!!! Happy New Year to you my sweet friend!!
  22. SweetP79, I hope your 2019 will be dynamite, and things go well for you and everyone else.

    September 2018

So were you in a stall and you have resumed losing? Or @tsking, is it more of the Same Old Same Old. They have cut my TPN cycle from 14 on,10 off to 12-12, this should help me resume losing better without making my nutrition suffer.
  24. And Happy Happy New Shiny 2019. My TPN company took me from 14 on,10 off to 12-12. this should diminish my calorie intake down enough to avoid a stall without losing the nutritional benefits. Next endoscopy date open Is on the 25th, Dr Noria wants to see how 2 months of therapy has affected me, I am almost ready to start my 4th month of Carafate, let's see if it is as healing as we are hoping for. And I see Dr Needleman on the 15th for my scheduled appointment, this month I see my PCP, sleep medicine doctor, cardiologist, possibly lawyer, twice weekly blood draws, for a person who goes nowhere I seem to be Busy Busy! But I tell myself it's all good, at last weighing I had lost over a 100 pounds from High Weight but alas still another glob of weight to go, maybe 80 pounds. till I approach my goal. Oh I shall not give up, I am in it to win it and I still believe I can do it! And Plump Princess will become the Empress of All That She Surveys!👈👼👉❤🏆
