So went in for a regular doctor's appt. to check on my diabetes . I was a little down because I believe I could be losing more weight . And he told me that my A1C has gone from 11.6 to 7(still high but 7 is better than 11). Knowing that made me happy . And that is my NSV ..Getting my diabetes under control is always a victory -

Okay....the NSV. I'll be honest with all of you. I have a sister who was bulimic and anorexic, so I'm not really a fan of the scale. I'm a fan of the clothes fit test and the endurance and fitness tests. I digress....my NSV was wearing a TANKINI for the first time this past week. My man was super wowed by it. I wish he would make better health choices. I'm hoping mine will rub off on him. Congrats to you Tricia K. I don't know about you, but I've never been close to being able to wear a 2 piece suit in any way shape or form, but I'm so glad you're rocking it!!!! Have a great time in Florida! -
How are the May sleevers doing?
HopefullXOXOXO replied to QueenEB's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm very happy for all of us. There have been struggles and learning curves along the way, but we're all headed in the right direction. YAY!!! From surgery date 5/3/18, I've lost 36 pounds. I lost 10 pre op, so 46 total. I know others have lost more but I'm happy with that as I've had a lot of NSV's myself. I'm very grateful for each and every one of them! The BEST one is that I'm able to move more easily and can breathe better. That alone is worth it. Plus, I'm 65 and was told my post menopausal metabolism would make it more difficult to get weight off. My nutritionist still hasn't given me any calories goals or protein goals. ??? Only 60 ounces of liquids daily and eat protein first. I'm glad I have this forum as I've been getting the 800 calories and at least 70 grams of protein a day that I've seen suggested here. For whatever reason, the nutritionist I have is practically useless. All in all, I'm happy with my progress so far. I do hope that, even if it's very slow, I'll get at least 30 more pounds off. We'll see! -
congrats Bandiva; that IS a good NSV! :clap2:

Hi Everyone! I have been lurking around, just kind of quiet lately. Been having some problems with my sugar addiction lately, but today is a new day! I know I need to start exercising to get feeling better etc. so I hired a trainer 3 days per week. I think it will give me the kick in the pants that I need. She is also trained in nutrition and will help me that way. Thanks for all your support everyone. BTW, my second fill kicked in 11 days later...it was like the gates of hell slammed shut. Couldn't even keep icecream down (but I lived through it!) Time to be serious. I think I have a mental block about 50 lbs....too bad, I am breaking through. NSV...I am off all meds! Yippee!

I Got My Surgery Date...Where Are The November Bandsters?
DivaStyleCoach replied to Cappy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey Ladies...y'all are too funny! People at work have started to notice that I'm losing - one of my coworkers has the bypass and she's been the most supportive and complimentary - gotta love her! My hubby notices little changes as well, and my DD. No one else knows I had the surgery in my family, plus we live a few states away, so by the time I see them again (maybe in the spring of 09) I will be much farther along. Had an NSV today - my size 18 pants are fitting beautifully - no pulling, gapping or binding. Can't wait to get to size 16's, which I haven't seen since high school! Congrats to all those moving through the phases - I am just starting mushies this week after 2 weeks on liquids. I did start cream of wheat last week (thinner than normal) and have the clearance from my surgeon to go back to my regular workouts, which I'm really happy about. Can't wait to buy smaller clothes (just a few things at a time while I'm losing) - I'm virtual shopping the sales and by the time the post-Christmas sales come along, I'll have a GOOD reason to shop!:whatchutalkingabout -
NSV! You are the only people who "get" it.

I'm getting really, really tired of chewing. **sigh** Do you still chew like a bandster Penni? I have this theory that bandsters lose weight simply because there's not enough time in the day to chew enough calories! Oh, I forgot my NSV, lol! One ENTIRE day with ZERO food incidents! No golf-ball, slime, or PB! First day in a LONG time!

No weight change. Vines, can I go with you for that ticker tattoo? My NSV is that last week on my lunch break I had no idea what I wanted to eat, so I started walking. I ended up walking 2 miles, just because it felt good. -

Challenge start: 240 Now: 234 It's hard to find an NSV this week. How about this: I'm working massive overtime right now but I'm not giving in and eating crap out of the vending machines like I always have in the past in these "crunch times" at work. Even if I'm not the perfect bandster right now, I'm planning out my day, getting in my Protein, taking my Vitamins, and getting almost-adequate rest. Which for right now is what I can handle. I'm not giving up! -

I think I fergot to log into this challenge last week. I was up 2 lbs last week and I'm back down to 225, so that equals no change basically. In NSV land... My mom is really happy that I'm getting my old self back. She comments every time she sees my fingernails painted a funky color (blue, green, etc). After my sister's wedding in April she may help me put a few green streaks in my hair. In high school I did all of it teal/green and it looked awesome, but I just don't know that I could do the whole thing again now. But a few select streaks would just look awesome. :thankyou: -

Hey Y'all! I'll kick in a prize, too. Some scratch tickets or something. I am going to post along with you - but it will be hard for me to play properly, since I don't have a scale - and, my gym doesn't have one yet, either. I will HAVE to focus on life, since I have NO IDEA of my current weight. My NSV for this week? 15 minutes on the Evil Eliptical machine before my heart rate got too high to continue. I do treadmill, & bike, too - but the eliptical is the one that kicks my butt - so that's what I call an NSV. -

I'm in....The end of year challenge has been an awesome experience for me. I'll do it again and again;-) I think a 'minimum' of one NSV is a great idea, then people can post more if they choose. I am for the longer time span, because I am destined to have at least 1-2 off weeks/plateau and that way it makes me feel like I have more of a chance to succeed over the long haul. Will see you next week!!
