Congrats on that super NSV! -
Stopped in at a Lane Bryant store today.....found a clearance item and when I went to the cash register the clerk asked me if I would be using my Lane Bryant credit card. I told her I had a card a long time ago, but have not used it in years. She politely asked me why....I told her that I just recently lost 60 pounds and can now fit in their clothes again!!! She said, "wow, I wish I could lose 60 pounds". When I left she congraduated me again.....great SNV today.....Now the next great SNV with Lane Bryant will be the day nothing fits again....BUT, this time 'cause everything is TOO BIG!!!

That is a great NSV!!! -
There you are! We have missed you and needed your big boot a few times, too. Glad you are recovering. I thought of you when my sister had her hysterectomy Dec 1st. Remember fibroid tumor girl? No longer, and she's feeling better already. She's lost almost 20 pounds since her surgery. Her feet no longer swell (not sure exactly why they did) so she's not retaining Water like she used to. I hope you are enjoying good health as time passes. Okay, there are a few challenges going on these days so jump in on one. I have sworn them off for a while. I guess I got burned out, but I joined Boot Camp where no whining is allowed and I pick my own goals. Mine are increased exercise and better eating. Yes, vague, but just enough structure for me. Plus NSV's must be listed. So there ya go. Glad to see you posting. Lots going on these last months...catch up!!!

Oh I'm ALL ABOUT the gurgly tummy. Especially when I've just recently eaten. Glug, glug. I just sort of put a hand on my tum near where my band would be to try to muffle the sounds. lol. Good on ya for the NSV too!!

Thanks...I think I like the NSVs better than watching the scale move.

Ok so I was banded just a little while ago and have lost 17lbs so far. Well my kids and I were playing football and I was throwing the ball. When the ball flew through the air, My ring did also. I guess my hands are getting thinner because My rings won't stay on my hands. I guess its time to put them up till I can resize them... Its a pain but very exciting to me HEHE....

Ok... the set up. I have my period, stuck in traffic having a rather upsetting 'conversation' on my cellphone with my brother. When I hung up I went and bought plants/dirt and did all the containers for my balcony. IT DIDN'T EVEN OCCUR TO ME TO EAT ICE CREAM!!!!:clap2: God it works when you work it.....

I was able to JOG a quarter of a mile. I was sooooooooo excited to jog. I have never jogged since being fat. I was so proud of myself. I end up walking a little bit over 2.5 miles. When I got home it was the best sleep I had ever had.:notagree I want to see if I can jog a quarter every other day for a month and then move to jogging 1/2 a mile.:clap2:

Way to go ...what a great NSV

My NSV that I wanted to share was that I can wear 3 inch heels again with no problem!!!!!! :clap2: I went to DSW and bought me 2 new pair and I am loving it! I have a friend of mine who is so excited that I am buying shoes like this because she is one of those girls that are addicted to shoes and most of hers are 4 inch heels!!! Oh I am so not there yet and not sure if I would wear them that high but she is a pro in them from wearing them for years! She works in real estate and walks in subdivisions with them on! OMG! She has awesome calves and that is what I am striving to get back...those sexy, muscular calves that make even me go WOW! about myself. One thing I forgot to mention about getting back into 3 inch heels...dancing is so much more fun! Yes...by the end of the night I want to soak my feeties but it so worth the pain!!

What am I doing wrong?
SleeveToBypass2023 replied to heatherdbby's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's how I am. Sometimes we have to remember that slow and steady wins the race. I lost 30 pounds in the first 2 weeks after surgery. Now I am 7 months out, and I lose MAYBE 2 pounds a week. Sometimes 3. And my stalls went from 2 weeks to 3 to 4. Every 6 weeks or so, I hit another one. When It breaks, I drop like 5 or 6 pounds. Then it goes back to inching along until my next stall. It's really frustrating, but what you want to do is focus on your NSV (Non Scale Victories). Does your face look smaller? Are your clothes getting looser? Do your rinds feel bigger? Can you move around better? When the scale isn't doing what we want it to, we have to look to see what our bodies are doing. THAT's where you'll get a more complete picture of what's happening. -
NSV Clothes and I can see...Finally!
Kattastic posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started out in October at a size 22/24. I was finally forced to buy a couple of new bras last night, one pair of Jeans, and two new shirts. The shirts are size 14/16 and the jeans are size 18. I probably could've bought a 16 but they would have definitely been too tight in the sitting position LOL. The scale is still moving but this is exciting because I can finally see the difference myself! -
He said I would get down to 165 and thats where I . Is this it???

Two months is not really a long time ot be on a plateau. My DH was on a long plateau, like more than 6 months before he started losing again. I won't denigh that you are not happy not losing. But I think with all the great success you've had, you expect things to continue the way they were before. I think at this point its' a good time to step back, and reassess what you are doing. Where you have been, review that list of NSVs. I think it is also time to look at your original goal. It is only a number, meaning less in and of itself. You are nowhere near being the same person you were before you started this band journey. Maybe it is time to reassess. Have your body composition measured. Have that consult with the plasitc surgeon too see how much of your excess weight is actually skin and not body fat. Please don't drive yourselves crazy with woring about 10 measily pounds. Especially when that 10 pounds might be muscle. I mean, you have all worked really hard to get where you are. Perhaps you are already "there" and don't know it. The BMI scale lies. The scales lie. And frequenly, our brains lie too. We have this idea that we will be oh so happy when we are size (insert number here) but when we reach (insert number here) we are no happier than we were when we were (insert bigger number here). Perhaps it is because I cannot lose weight that I have a different perspective. Perhaps there is somepart of me that is bitter and angry that Ya'll have had success where it is denighed to me, will be denighed to me. Oh, and Mandy is doing F.A.B. -
CONGRATS! Those are wonderful NSV's indeed. The scale can not measure the pleasure of sitting comfortably in any seat, any where.

I am at 10 months post-banding and wanted to share my NSVs with all of you. :clap2: In no particular order: 1. I have a noticable jawline & cheeckbones, and only 1 chin. 2. I can sit in any seat now and not be squished in by the sides. 3. I now shop in the misses section for my tops (size Large). 4. I weigh less now than I have for the last 18 years. 5. I can cross my legs! 6. I can sit in a booth in a resturant without my belly hitting the table. 7. My collarbones are visible again. 8. Hubby can reach all the way around me when he hugs me. 9. I am just over 1/2 way to my goal weight (mine, not doctors). 10. I can look down when standing and see my toes! At my first visit to the surgeon my weight was 329. I now am 249.6. My personal goal is 165 or so (doctor says 135). At 5', 3", that was a lot of weight to carry around. I work out 1 1/2 to 2 hrs 5 days a week at the gym and love it. I hope to be at goal weight at my 2 year bandaversary. Thanks for sharing with me.

Funny how those closest to us turn out to be our greatest critics, sabatouers, etc. I guess my greatest NSV was when I told the lady at Curves how much I weighed BEFORE she put me on the scale and she said 'there is no way you can way that much!'. Strangers have a much more objective view and those who know us or live in close proximity to us seem to have a need to 'keep us in our place', so to speak. Sad.. Not sure how big or small she is, but take heart in thinking in your own mind, maybe you can offer her your own clothes as you no longer need them. If your stats are up to date, you've lost over 90 lbs!! There is NO WAY one could not notice.. what a witch! Great job!!!

Karen, Congratulations!! All of those are wonderful NSV's, and you should be very proud of yourself!

What a great NSV and boost to your self-esteem and determination to keep going!! Congratulations, that's awesom! Emily

I've lost about 90 pounds since getting lap-band on November 24th of last year.....today I got bras at Victoria's Secret. Yes, I paid way too much for two bras. But this has always been a place I could never shop. I did a happy dance in the dressing room.

All I have to say is.........Goodbye Lane Bryant!!! :faint: WOW!!! I actually bought clothes this weekend at PacSun, Gap and Hot Topic!!!! I was so excited! I bought a size 13 at Hot Topic and a size 14 at the Gap...I could have died and gone to Heaven! :clap2: But the best surprise was going to a store like PacSun and trying on their clothes and they actually fit! I am so excited...just had to share! Now if I could just get more pounds to drop...I have been stuck at this same weight since 2nd week of April...:think . AAAGGGHHH! :help: OOPS! For some reason I had an error and it posted twice...sorry!

It has been raining in Dallas all weekend. I finally just decided to go to the store. It started raining even harder when we were getting ready to leave Wal-Mart (go figure!). I actually ran from the front door of Wal-Mart to my truck and didn't feel like I was going to croak from a heart attack. My knee and back didn't like it much, but it was so wonderful to bounce along across the parking lot listening to my bundled up 17 month old daughter laughing because we were going so fast.

Ah yes...the joys of trying to get to the toes....I know it well. That is a GREAT NSV and much congrats to you for noticing and taking the time to pat yourself on the back. Those moments of self congrats are priceless...and a big key in rebuilding tattered self esteem. Whoot for an NSV!
