    Any April 2021 surgeries?!

Sorry if this is TMI, but I still don't have BMs unless I use a supplement. I don't experience any pain, constipation, or stopped up feeling. So, honestly I kind of forget that I'm supposed to have a BM, lol. About twice a week I either take a vouple chocolate chewable Senokot or a cap of Miralax hidden in a glass of Crystal Lite. I'm a bit nervous about using assistance daily. I talked with my surgeon's nurse today, but totally forgot to ask her about this. Is anyone able to have a BM on their own or is everyone still taking something to help get things moving? And, how frequently are you taking something? I knew this would happen with surgery and the diet change so I was prepared mentally and physically for it. But, I'm just not sure how long it lasts. Thanks!
  3. So the herb lax I took helped significantly (if it's not TMI I had about 4-5 stools since taking it) It was gentle on my body which was what I was hoping for since it's a combo of all natural herbs. BUT My stomach is still super sore and queasy.. like it's hard to eat or drink because it makes me sickish and sore and I still dont' feel completely emptied :\ is this normal? I expected to feel back to normal after taking it but I've been feeling pretty yucky all day.

    June Sleevers Lets Get Excited!!!

Hey Sleevers! So tomorrow marks 2 Months.... I'll share my stats below but i'm down 27 pounds.... most of that was lost at the beginning and I wish i could say I wasn't hoping for a little more loss but its also a hell of a lot more then it would be without my sleeve. So I will try and remember not to let it get me down and just continue pushing forward. I did start going to the Gym last week and it had not been easy but it has gotten better with each visit. The first time i thought i was gonna die from dehydration. So now I make sure I drink as much as i can before I go and that has helped. I feel sore as a hell but I take that as a good thing. I feel like all 27 pounds lost were from my butt so I figured the gym will help with that lol. The biggest problem I've had is food.... I never know what is gonna sit well. Today I had a salad and now I've felt sick all day! The stuff that seems to stick without issue is the bad stuff.... pizza, chipotle, mashed potatoes.... That right there is the reason I'm losing slow.... I want to eat the healthy stuff but it happens every time I eat and then I gotta run to the RR.... TMI i know but anyone else running into this? If so anyone had any luck with getting better. Stats: HW:202 SW:197 CW:175 GW:125-135
  5. I know this is wayyyyy TMI.... but i cant poop.... LOL so any suggestions..... i DRINK alot of water....

  6. I'm 5 days post-op to and I've been running a fever off and on since I got home. The gas has really been painful and I finally had my first bowel yesterday (TMI i know but it's true) so I was real relieved and yesterday was the first day i was able to keep anything down. I kinda wish i had the diarrhea because that would at least clean me out, all my gas has come up nothing coming out the back.

  7. I know TMI but darn Aunt Flo is visiting and all I am craving is everything salt related! I broke down and had salty food last night. One happy thing is that I am back at it with logging now just to get that motivation a moving to get back into exercising!

I had the same problem this month too only difference is I wanted chocolate. I gave into the craving and now I am done. Sometimes you just need to indulge and be satisfied! Like @Dragonsmate said, don't beat yourself up. This too shall pass.

  8. TMI, but I think all the protein shakes are making my farts smell like a dead raccoon in a heatwave.

  9. Has anyone had problem (Gas) with the Babybel Cheese you eat? I have switched from the red package to the green and now the blue and the blue is making me boo-hoo~~ (smelly, tmi :))

  10. Got sick last night off of Rotisseri Chicken from the local grocers. I thought it would be safe but it didn't sit well with me. I have learned the technique of 'finger down throat - tickle-tickle- there she blows' to save the day! TMI...

      pupichupi

Girl I use that trick a lot lately!!! Although it's gotten to the point where I can just move my throat around a little to just get it out now??? I am a pro!!! lol such a bad thing to admit, but I know one thing I can not eat and won't eat ever again, Ice Cream, and that trick does not work for that!!!

    2. BladeFox

      BladeFox

So scared to eat ice cream. I am still eating good and right for the most part. I know that if I find that if I can eat ice cream...it won't stop. Love it!!! So I have been denying myself that this summer. The finger trick works wonders ;)

    3. pupichupi

      pupichupi

Yes I know what you mean about denying yourself, but now I know that ice cream doesn't agree with me AT ALL, I won't ever eat it again, I was just craving something very cold and creamy, and I loved ice cream before the surgery, and found out that I can't eat it now, well it's kind of a blessing in disguise? The finger trick doesn't work with ice cream though dear?

Purelax for constipation...it takes a few days, but it is gentle.....or a suppository (my doc said that works better)

If the cough is from drainage... take Robitussin---look for the sugar free kind.

      Drink lots and lots...

  16. oh girl! I hear you! I am an F! holy cow right? LOL three kids.. all breast fed, plus being a big girl didn't help ... I want to lose there too!! never TMI between us band buddies .. I have a feeling the convos about gas and such might be worse later! HAHAHAH

  17. yes! you can definately add me as a friend!

I am having a very hard time with the exercise piece too. i have just been walking. I started by walking up my street, because it is a rather steep hill, and then I walked around the block, and then I walked a little farther. I actually walked a mile the other day, but then I pulled a muscle lifting a box and havent walked since.

I am actually kinda worried right now, because I have a rash on my side where my skin folds over itself, (sprry if thats TMI) and im worried if its not better that they wont do the surgery.

I will let you know how I am after surgery. I am very nervous, but also looking forward to it, or at least looking forward to getting it overwith.

  18. It's now lunch time and I'm feeling hunger, but it's the first time during the day that that has happened. So it shall be another 1/2 cup of refried beans and salsa for me (I'm a little obsessed with the fiber these days so I"m having refried beans every day...maybe TMI but no constipation here.) Another funny thing is that pre sugery I kind of like the protein shakes, I have the powder and make my own various ways. But post surgery they smell different and I'm totally turned off but them! So that is the only thing I'm struggeling with. Not too bad. AS far as weight loss post op.. I gained like 7 lbs from the surgery (IV fluids and stuff) but as of today I've lost that and only 3 additional. I noticed in the months leading up to this that my body only responds when I have al least 1000-1200 calories and moving my butt.

  19. Hi Dec. 10th Buddy :)

Girl things are doing great...I have been laying real low on food besides jello, though, because I tried brooth once and YIKES!!! It was not cute as far as the bathroom goes! TMI LOL anyway just wanted to say hi and good luck! PS can't wait for that 2wk check up to see the scale

  20. I am completely unfilled now, but i am still swollen so will take a little over a week to get back to normal. I used to throw up many times a day, acid reflux super bad all of that! I had my gallbladder pulled 9/14 and things were better for awhile, only had 22 cc's in a 10 cc band and had to have a complete unfill. Doctor says I am doing something wrong so going to unfill start my eating all over and see if I can just do it on my own. I am only 10 pounds away from goal. But my main problem is fiber and you know what happens with not enough fiber not to give tmi. So you gave me some good info! And I really appreciate it. I will be checking your progress and you look amazing!!!!

  21. Omg i am so livid right now i got a call from Angelina the patient coordinator today at 3pm to tell me that my labs are incomplete. Ironically i need a pregnancy test that was not done. Coincidence im on my period and my hubby has had a vasectomy i know TMI. So I rushed on over to Labcorp to have that done and they are going to fax over the results today since theyre doing it stat.I still cant help to fell really upset about this. I even called them earlier this week to make sure everything was ok and didnt hear back from them. Hope they get these results on time.

  22. I used to be a breadaholic too. I gave up sugar about 12 years ago, but needed sleeve surgery because of course I learned to substitute others things, like bread, for my former sugar addiction. I think you'll find though that after surgery, your tastes change. I am 5 months post op and haven't had any bread yet. To me now it just sounds like something gummy that is just going to get stuck -- both going in and out (sorry, TMI, I know, but constipation was a real problem in the early days). 'Course this doesn't mean I don't think about bread. It was my favorite thing. Went for Italian with friends last week. I sat and watched them dipping the white, fiber-free, pasty Italian bread in olive oil and all I could think was "that's 300 calories per slice, and I don't want have to put that in my MyFitnessPal food diary." Give yourself a chance. You might find that your bread addiction goes away, or is not such a problem after sleeve surgery. Good luck on your journey. It's going to be amazing!
  23. Hey folks, Sorry if this is TMI, but I've caught Norovirus and have spent the last 18 hours projectile vomiting I've been so sick there is NOTHING left, but still my body is trying! I'm really worried on two scores, but dont know if I am over reacting. Firstly how much pressure can my new stomac take? I dont want to losen or tear something! And secondly as I can normally drink less now, how long do I leave it before worrying about dehydration? Thanks for listening, just in a bit of a panic! Cx

    Issues With Chocolate?

I thought my stomach just didn't like the boost chocolate protein drink, so I switched and bought the eas advantage chocolate and strawberry cream to replace it. I tolerated the strawberry fine although I didn't like it very much, so I tried the chocolate one and i was sick as a dog. I didn't throw up but I had the worst feelings in my stomach and the feeling of having to have a bowel movement. (Sorry if this is tmi) but after having a small bm and laid down for 5mins I felt fine I felt better
