How many do you have?

Onmywaytoslimville, Thanks for sharing a part of your story in this thread. Like you, I have set small goals to accomplish on this weight loss journey. I started out at 213 lbs, so my first goal was to enter onderland again...so I celebrated 199 lbs. I am currently 188 lbs., and my next goal is 180 lbs. and I plan to set goals in chunks of ten pounds until I reach my ultimate goal of 150 lbs. The smallest I have been in the last 10 or so years is 158 lbs., so I definitely look forward to losing some virgin fat. Good luck everyone and KUTGW...because we're worth it!
2. So I'm going along pretty much okay I know what I can and can't eat and how much ... I am getting bored with my choices though and I miss bread big time .. I also miss being able to have a meal out but I keep telling myself i am only 14 weeks out so things will get better. :-) I haven't lost any weight for 2 weeks now but that's okay I have been pretty steady for a while so a few bumps here and there are okay I am glad I'm not going thru this in summer though cause that would mean it was christmas and Christmas is my favourite time of the year and while I know this year at Christmas time I will be 9 months post op and won't be able to eat all the foods I did last year I should at least be able to enjoy a bit more than the 50g I manage now
3. Last year on feb16 2012 I was at 265 and it was my daughters birthday I was so big that I didn't even want to take pictures...as two months pass I dedcided it was time for change and get the lapband .....I lost weight tru out the 6 months process. On oct 24 I was lapbanded and now with a weight of 225......even though I have lots to go and at times it has gotten difficult I didn't give up on me or my daughter this was truly the best decision I've made!! See for yourself
4. Just curious...I am at one week 2 days post op and I have lost 12 lbs....seems like alot, just want to make sure I am at par.
5. Hmm, I never recorded the actual weight loss per month, but it will be 5 months on the 8th and I've lost a total of 80 lbs, so I have averaged 16lbs per month.

How much wardrobe to get in a size

Maxie dresses are great. They work for the long gest time. Just add a belt or sweater when it gets too big, that will buy you an extra month or two. But for sure Ross, Burlington etc are also good for some quick picks. I agree if you find something you love and can get it in the next size down too, do it. I am going to do that to avoid some of the inevitable questions at work. I don't really want to be the topic of discussion daily or feel obligated to explain myself to everyone who says ..wow, what are you doing to lose weight. Is that wrong? Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App
9. According to My Fitness Pal it's around 600 a day. Everyone loses at a different rate and it also depends where you start. Often people with more weight to lose will lose more in those first 3 months. By the time I hit my goal I should have lost 60 pounds since this operation. I honestly don't care how long it takes to get there as long as I do get there. There are no bonus points for getting there quickly

6 MONTHS out...

I am 8 months out stuck at 185 not because the program doesn't work, because I stopped working the program. We need to remember that we are active participants in this and we need to be pro-active daily and create a path to get to our goals. Not sit back and wait for the weight to fall off. I am saying this to myself more than you. This is the time of the program where are choices are the main reasons its working or not working.

I personally will not take any of those products. I have thought about it and decided to trust my sleeve. I have my trusty sleeve and it will help me not over eat. I choose to exercise now by walking and I have so much energy. I am actually beginning to love it. I've tried those things in the past and it never really helped at all. I work on eating healthy, organic when possible, and protein first always. you are only 2.5 months out and if I got this correct, you are a guy and will lose your weight a lot faster than a lady. You got the advantage on this. Just be careful the substance isn't dangerous to you. I would hate to see you get sick by this stuff.

Gastric Sleeve Plication Surgery

Hi there, I am really happy for you and your weight loss journey. But I do not appreciate your spamming messages in ALL threads and forums here! You can just start a thread and talk about yourself and promote your blog, but please stop these chain postings in every single thread in this forum... Let's please stay relevant and also courteous of others who take the time to start a thread to talk about a particular topic... That's just my personal opinion and may not necessarily reflect those of SleevePlicationTalk.com's administrators.

I'm banded!!!

I was banded on Monday too! The gas pain is just awful, more than I expected. I'm taking pain pills just for that pain - the incisions don't hurt a bit. Walking helps but not as much as I had hoped. I generally have a heating pad on my left shoulder, and it helps some. With that being said, I would do this again in a heartbeat. As for the hernia, I did as much reading on that as I could before surgery because I knew I had a big one. My doctor said that most people have small hernias, but mine was the biggest he'd seen in 30 years of medical practice. Anyway, with all the reading I did, no one seemed to have a reason for hiatal hernias, just that they happen quite commonly. And I am so happy that this is now fixed - none of the weird symptoms I had before are there. That part of the experience is just wonderful. I'm also not very hungry and find it a bit difficult to get in all the Protein shakes. Takes me a while to drink a whole shake, and if I add anything to it for flavor or texture (like frozen strawberries), I can't finish it. I did that in the diet before surgery, but can't manage it now. That's a good thing, I've started losing weight again after a couple of days of slight weight gain. Anyway, happy to join you and the other folks in Bandland!
14. No, I haven't been on any PPI since my surgery. My surgeon requires full liquids for 3 weeks after surgery and then soft foods for an additional 3 weeks. I'm not supposed to have any Jello or pudding for two more days. But I'm very tempted to have something more than liquid Protein drinks! Thanks for the encouragement and congrats on your amazing weight loss!
15. In my opinion, you should be establishing a maintainable level of fitness. I think we all want the weight to just fall off of us, but exercising a LOT now won't help you in the long run. The goal is to establish a new lifestyle that you can continue on with. I know, from my past weight loss experiences, it's really easy to dive in to fitness, and work hard...super hard, to achieve results.....it's also easy to burn out (at least I did). Try not to overdo it in your haste to burn calories!
16. Good Luck fellow Virginian!! I was banded last Friday 7/17 and feel great---tummy is sore but I can deal with a bit of 'soreness' in pursuit of stunning weight loss!!!!!! I had my surgery at UVA and the surgeon, Dr. Schimer & staff have been fantastic!
17. I am so ecstatic ! I'm working out and eating pretty good . My only challenge is getting this Water down . I have had one fill. I am currently at 5 cc. Here are my stats! I am having my 2nd fill on aug 27. I have been dying to post in this success forum...even when I don't feel like exercising, I push through it. I think I'm abt to start goin to some of the support groups at the hospital . High Weight: 331.0- Feb 2013 Pre-Op Starting -June 25 : 319.0 Surgery day - July 5 : 305.3 lbs 1st Adjustment - July 25: 293.0 lbs 1 Month Bandiversary - Aug 5 : 284 lbs Current weight - Aug 12th: 280.0 lbs
18. I have to do 10 days. I start this Saturday! But I will try to keep my eye on the prize. I am also on vacation next week then go right into surgery on the 10th so I will use next week to get my house in order for when I am recuperating. I also plan on going through all my clothes closets to sort out sizes. I am sure I have at least 3 to 4 back sizes for the way down!! At least I will know what I have to wear for a while. I do not want to go spend a lot of money in the beginning of the weight loss. Once I get down lower then I can splurge!!

I am suppose to go on monday for my first fill since my surgery was on december 5 2008 i just found out i was 326 on surgery date and only 324lbs ow s no weightloss but at least i did not gain . I cannot wait but we are getting ahuge storm on monday again so probably wont be ale to get there so it might be later on in week or following week kinda crappy

After the first fill, how much..

Alice, I think you should try another fill - especially if you can still eat that much. I can eat smaller amounts than before the surgery and be satisfied but I could certainly eat much more if I let myself. I have not had ANY problems with anything going down or coming back up. I can't wait until I get the fills right where I hit my sweet spot and can start dropping the weight. I am pleased with 20 Lbs in the first month but have not lost anything this past week . Good Luck with your weight loss journey!

One Week And Two Days Out And I've Lost....

Week 3 stall is totally normal, unfortunately. It's not related to pureed food. How long it lasts is different for everyone, but it seems to be at least a couple weeks while your body adjusts. Just keep sticking to your diet and rather than weighing, you may want to take body measurments because even though you're not losing weight, you're losing inches

One Week And Two Days Out And I've Lost....

Thank goodness my doctor and nurse warned me about the hospital weight gain. I came home 17 pounds more than the day I left for surgery. I have lost all of that and 17 more. My surgery was 11/8. Tomorrow I can begin on pureed foods, going very slow with that. My issue is I don't like sweet stuff, so the protein drinks are challenging at best. Good luck - it will get better!

exercise

Ditto, it goes and stays where it wants. I have read several places that those stubborn areas we all have where our fat deposits first when we start to gain are the very last places to go. but congratulations on losing 100 lbs!!!! That is fantastic!!!:banana

exercise

Ok - so I am down 100 pounds and loving it but here is the problem. I do the treadmill, the eliptical and swimm BUT my hips will NOT BUDGE!!!! With everything I do I am loosing all the weight in my upper body and my legs but my hips just won't go anywhere. Does anyone know of any good exercises that I can do to trim them down? To give you all an indication of what I mean I started wearing a 26/28 tops and bottoms but I am now a 16 top and anywhere from a 18 to 22 bottom. I am FRUSTRATED!!!!! :ermm
25. Welcome to VST!! I hope that you meet your goal!! Maybe you'll lose enough weight not to need the heart transplant? I hope so!! Good luck on your journey!!!
