    February 2019 weight loss buds

Hey everyone, I posted recently, but am always keeping track of the conversation and topics. So I kinda hit a stall and was discouraged, and on top off that I found out I had gallstones. Didn't even make it the scheduled MD appointmentto discuss treatment. I ended up in ER this weekend and had to have gallbladder surgically removed. Has anyone else had the gallbladder removed, and if so how was it afterwards? Could that have caused my 3 week stall prior? I am still tracking food and exercise, and based on that I should be losing weight. I try not to focus on that to much, but it is hard. Well I did just have a NSV, I was able to wear XLG scrubs..[emoji4] Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app

    February 2019 weight loss buds

So I am finally posting the before and during pictures. Can’t wait to post the after. The first picture of my husband and me was taken in April of 2018 and helped me to confirm I NEEDED help. The second picture was taken this past Sunday at a play. Also , NSV Fit in the seat comfortably. Also, please pretend my eyes are open.

    February 2019 weight loss buds

I started losing a lot of hair daily. Luckily it’s thick, so I have some wiggle room. I’m taking double my biotin and collagen, but it doesn’t seem to matter. I think it boils down to protein and water intake, which I’m sucking at. Had some major trigger events two weeks in a row and I noticed I had been eating carbs a lot more than I had been. The last three days I’ve hardly eaten anything, as my stomach is either upset or I just don’t have a desire to eat. Which is probably the cause of my feeling tired a lot. I’m also goi g to see if my Dr can run my labs. I’m thinking I might be a bit anemic. Everyday is a new day to start back on track though. So here’s hopping tomorrow is better. I did have a NSV. I now weigh well below the required weight limit to do indoor skydiving. I went this last Saturday for the first time ever. It was fun, but nerve racking as the flight suit was a little snug in the hips area. But never the less I did it! I also pulled out last years shorts and they are too loose on me! That is another positive NSV. Trying to stay on the positive side, even though the tummy is not happy right now. Hope we all have a better June!

    Non-Scale Victories!!

Someone posted another thread that they actually weigh the weight on their license. In my state your weight isn't stated. I actually just went to renew my license last week and the woman commented on my weight loss. It was pretty obvious looking at my old picture but then she said she put me in a different weight "category". I asked her what that meant and apparently whoever issues your license guesstimates your weight and puts you a category. I asked her what category she put me in and she said like around 160lbs or something. First of all, that was a great nsv right there because I'm flattered that she thought I weighed that much. I let her keep that category because that's where my goal is at and I think you should put a weight near your goal weight because, while it may not be true today, it will hopefully be soon. Besides, plenty of people don't weigh what it says on their license anyway!

It's exciting to read everyone's progress. I wanted to add my NSVs to the list wedding ring is very loose size 26 jeans are too big size 3x shirts fit got into a size 26 Wal-Mart capris (those run small) Dressing for Easter was a little frustrating. The 3X skirt was too big, but the 2X was too small. I bought the 3X and made due for Sunday, but I want to have it alerted. Another NSV - I've only thrown up once. It's the little things in life that I'm enjoying.

Gorgeous Anna! Okay so I’m posting a NSV. Since June 21, I’ve only lost 3.2 pounds, but I’ve lost over 7 inches from various parts on my body, with 1 of those inches leaving my lower abs and 3/4 leaving both my waist and hips. Seriously I’m not sure how it’s even possible to lose that small amount of weight and lose so many inches that I measured twice. Then I realized that I’m fully 10 pounds heavier at my current clothing size than I’ve ever been before. It’s like my body weighs more, but is smaller than it’s been for that weight and I’m thinking it’s all purely body composition.

Ok. I lost a pound. I know that is not an NSV but here is the NSV part. I made it through Christmas AND new years without feeling "left out" and still managed to lose a pound last week!!! Now that IS an NSV!

Hello fellow November Bandsters! I went shopping in my closet this a.m. in the previously "too tight" section and found some things that ended up too big and some that fit very well. So I have a few "new" things to wear and have to retire a few things as well. I was kind of disappointed with one pair of pants that I had been holding on to, the elastic waist band was shot. They are dressier pants and a nice brand but I guess the elastic just got old or the dry cleaners used something too strong on them. Too bad b/c they would have fit perfectly, now the waist just hangs. I am now in mostly 18's and once I get lower than that I will have to go shopping b/c I do not have anything smaller in my closet for pants. Just maybe a few smaller tops! Has anyone else noticed that your arms are starting to hang straighter along your body, instead of sticking out b/c of the hips? I love this NSV!

Cag, Isn't it great! Just love clothes NSV moments. I can't wait until I can shop in Wal-mart for clothes. I haven't been able to do that in years. I am probably at that point now but I am holding off as long as I can because I want to reach 100lbs. before May! Then it is a whole new summer wardrobe Baby! Although, I am starting Water aerobics at the "Y" and I need a bathing suit that fits. The one I got is way to big now. I guess I will have suck it up! What a boring weekend without football for my Pats. I am sure you felt the same with no Cowboys. Not sure that I like my game next week with the JAGS even though I am confident that we will probably beat them, I just wish we were facing a team that is less explosive. However, you got beat the best to be the best. So I am sure that we will beat the JAGS; it will make for a very interesting game. I think I will have be a football party Saturday night. They had better win because it is my birthday and I am turning 40. That would be the best birthday present this year! Keep up the great work and I want to see the ticker symbol go down; it hasn't changed in a while. Cindy

I have a cute NSV to share. My just turned 6 yr. old granddaughter said to me today" Grandma you look taller. Now you are straight up and down like me." Made me feel good because she is a little skinny thing. She is the first grandkid to notice and she is the youngest. Made me feel good because I have been plateaued for 4 weeks.

Isn't it funny how your weight loss makes you see other people differently? I look in the mirror and I just look like me, but then I can look at someone else and realize that person, who I always thought was thin, is actually bigger than I am. My NSV: I went to get a haircut at a new hairdresser last week. I told her I usually colored my hair, but I was giving it a rest because I had lost weight and my hair was fragile. She asked me why I lost weight, and I told her the band. She burst out, "You had surgery? But you're just a little bit of a thing!" Now there's a phrase I have NEVER heard applied to me before!

I think the fact that we're having NSV's and being barely a month out of surgery is a NSV in itself! I mean, how many diets have you guys been on where you didn't see any dramatic improvement - or it took so durn long to lose anything, you couldn't remember what you looked like to begin with? We all kick butt!

LOL! I just posted on the general forum about how much I love my band! I've lost almost 30 lbs with no fill yet! And I feel great! My NSVs are pertty similar to all of yours - baggy clothes, wearing my awesome knee-high boots without them being tight, etc. I think my biggest one is the confidence that I know people can see. I feel awesome. I feel in control. I feel like I can do this and I can be healthy and I can be attractive and I can be ME! I have more energy, I don't think about food all the time. I'm only eating when I'm hungry. I'm paying attention to my body instead of punishing it. I had the picture experience too! All of a sudden, I'm not paraniod about having my picture taken! I was afraid that if I suddenly died, there would be no pictures for my kids to remember what I looked like, which didn't seem like such a bad thing to me. But not anymore! Now if I could just get my husband to actually take a picture. LOL! I still can't get my wedding ring off, but I know I will soon. It hasn't come off in three years. That will be a major NSV! Yes, I love my band, too.

So went in for a regular doctor's appt. to check on my diabetes . I was a little down because I believe I could be losing more weight . And he told me that my A1C has gone from 11.6 to 7(still high but 7 is better than 11). Knowing that made me happy . And that is my NSV ..Getting my diabetes under control is always a victory

Okay....the NSV. I'll be honest with all of you. I have a sister who was bulimic and anorexic, so I'm not really a fan of the scale. I'm a fan of the clothes fit test and the endurance and fitness tests. I digress....my NSV was wearing a TANKINI for the first time this past week. My man was super wowed by it. I wish he would make better health choices. I'm hoping mine will rub off on him. Congrats to you Tricia K. I don't know about you, but I've never been close to being able to wear a 2 piece suit in any way shape or form, but I'm so glad you're rocking it!!!! Have a great time in Florida!

How are the May sleevers doing?

I'm very happy for all of us. There have been struggles and learning curves along the way, but we're all headed in the right direction. YAY!!! From surgery date 5/3/18, I've lost 36 pounds. I lost 10 pre op, so 46 total. I know others have lost more but I'm happy with that as I've had a lot of NSV's myself. I'm very grateful for each and every one of them! The BEST one is that I'm able to move more easily and can breathe better. That alone is worth it. Plus, I'm 65 and was told my post menopausal metabolism would make it more difficult to get weight off. My nutritionist still hasn't given me any calories goals or protein goals. ??? Only 60 ounces of liquids daily and eat protein first. I'm glad I have this forum as I've been getting the 800 calories and at least 70 grams of protein a day that I've seen suggested here. For whatever reason, the nutritionist I have is practically useless. All in all, I'm happy with my progress so far. I do hope that, even if it's very slow, I'll get at least 30 more pounds off. We'll see!

    My Life as a Bandster

Hi Everyone! I have been lurking around, just kind of quiet lately. Been having some problems with my sugar addiction lately, but today is a new day! I know I need to start exercising to get feeling better etc. so I hired a trainer 3 days per week. I think it will give me the kick in the pants that I need. She is also trained in nutrition and will help me that way. Thanks for all your support everyone. BTW, my second fill kicked in 11 days later...it was like the gates of hell slammed shut. Couldn't even keep icecream down (but I lived through it!) Time to be serious. I think I have a mental block about 50 lbs....too bad, I am breaking through. NSV...I am off all meds! Yippee!
  23. Hey Ladies...y'all are too funny! People at work have started to notice that I'm losing - one of my coworkers has the bypass and she's been the most supportive and complimentary - gotta love her! My hubby notices little changes as well, and my DD. No one else knows I had the surgery in my family, plus we live a few states away, so by the time I see them again (maybe in the spring of 09) I will be much farther along. Had an NSV today - my size 18 pants are fitting beautifully - no pulling, gapping or binding. Can't wait to get to size 16's, which I haven't seen since high school! Congrats to all those moving through the phases - I am just starting mushies this week after 2 weeks on liquids. I did start cream of wheat last week (thinner than normal) and have the clearance from my surgeon to go back to my regular workouts, which I'm really happy about. Can't wait to buy smaller clothes (just a few things at a time while I'm losing) - I'm virtual shopping the sales and by the time the post-Christmas sales come along, I'll have a GOOD reason to shop!:whatchutalkingabout

    Committment Thread to lose weight

I'm getting really, really tired of chewing. **sigh** Do you still chew like a bandster Penni? I have this theory that bandsters lose weight simply because there's not enough time in the day to chew enough calories! Oh, I forgot my NSV, lol! One ENTIRE day with ZERO food incidents! No golf-ball, slime, or PB! First day in a LONG time!
