Breakfast - 1 container of SF Yogurt with granola mixed in Lunch - 2 chips & salsa, a taco salad (just ate the grilled chicken off of it) and a small portion of quacamole (we went out for lunch to Mexican) Dinner - 5 little mini sugar free brownies - the new girl scout ones, 1/2 cup of salad, 1/2 cup of popcorn - I know (where is the protein?) Had a bad problem tonight with just putting stuff in my mouth - see notes Exercise - Treadmill (PM) 50 min, 359 calories, 2.48 miles, speed varied 3.1 to 3.2 mph. Notes - Didn't weigh this morning:clap2: - I was glad I had enough will power to stay off the scales - I dont ever want to see 200 AGAIN, so I'm waiting until I know I'm down to the 190's before stepping on my scale. Hopefully by Monday I will feel skinny enough to step on them. Okay - I noticed tonight I was eating every time I turned around, was I hungry NO. I figured out tonight that I must work on this "grazing". I need to not eat just because its "dinner time", but wait until I'm actually hungry I think. I'm not sure why I was eating, I think it was out of boredome, or just the need to put something in my mouth. I will be making a conscious effort to not graze and not just put JUNK in my mouth.

Best swallowable vitamins?
shedo82773 replied to Adams2dc's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I use CELEBRATE Capsule Vitamins. I have used them since after my Chewables. I didn't like my CENTRIUM chewables they were way to sweet. You can buy them on-line. I buy them on AMAZON. I haven't had any bllodwork come back bad. I was told by my Dr that if they were to large to swollow that could open them up and eat them with applesauce or yogurt. -
Back to work -_-
Imabeskinny replied to Aaronmadeit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
How far out are you and do you have a frig at work? I am on the mush phase and take Soup or turkey chili for lunch. For Snacks, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, Protein shakes (I like Muscle Milk in a pinch). I tried Peanut Butter but it seemed to have too many calories and not be worth it. Hope it helps. -
Isopure unflavored protein powder...how do you use it?
BLERDgirl replied to Jim in Utah's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's a matter of taste. I like it and add it to pretty much everything. Soups, tea, my yogurt, etc.... If you don't like Ispoure Genepro and Syntrax Nectar also make and unflavored version. Remember unflavored doesn't mean flavorless, it just means there's no added flavorings or sugars. Adding stronger flavors to it helps. I add a dash of hot sauce to my soups or a bit of lemon to my tea. -
Hi I'm 5 days post op and able to move to full liquid today. I had a Protein shake and it's made me feel really full and a little sick. All I want is real food. Do you think I can have refried Beans yet? Or do I need to wait till puréed stage? Should I just stick to Soup and pudding and yogurt till the next phase? I feel like refried beans are same consistency as pudding so is that ok? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Well I'm 4 days post op and doing well. The pain is only sharp when I get up or sit down but definitely manageable. The food thing is weird! I'm only drinking liquid protein, broth and sugar free jello. It's very strange because when I see other people eat around me I feel like I want a bite but I know it will hurt me if do. So maybe that's how the sleeve surgery works, if you eat anything your not supposed to your body will kick your ass for it! It's very strange to feel mentally hungry but not physically hungry. I guess this will take time to get used to. I'm looking forward to the next phase where I can have yogurt and cottage cheese.

I'm 8 1/2 months out. My craving are much worse since I slacked the reins at Christmas time. I am not more tired. Is your Iron good? Or do you eat a carby meal? That used to make me tired, but I can't stomach much bread, rice, potatoes, or Pasta, so I don't eat many carb heavy meals. The most carby thing I eat on plan is Beans. I sometimes have a cup of beans for dinner and I notice I am hungrier after eating them, but not more tired. I can now eat a cup of greek yogurt and one slice of toast for breakfast. That's about what I hoped for in restriction. I don't want to be stuck eating 6 meals a day to get my Protein in. For dinner, I can eat 3 oz. of dense protein, a little bit of veggies, and a bite or two of a starch. For lunch, I often have 2 oz. of lunch meat, an ounce of cheese, a handful of whole grain crackers and a little fruit, such as a little cutie or 1/4 of an apple. Lynda

clear liquid day before surgery diet
Metime replied to amybethy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
chicken broth, beef broth, Water, any liquid you can see through really. Nothing solid, so the cottage cheese and yogurt is out. Milk or other drinks you can't see through are also out. -

How long did your 3week stall last?
Deakay replied to Lanette's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've only lost 27-1/2 pounds since my pre-op diet.....and I've added crystal light to the greek yogurt, works well too just don't add too much -
Hi all I have had my 3rd fill for 2 weeks. I have "thrown up" 6 times. What is weird - i think this is really my first fill that has given me any restriction. I really don't think I'm to "full". I think the problem lies with my first 2 not giving me any restriction and have been able to eat anything and ate to much. So here I am with my 3rd fill (only 1.4cc) and having problems. some meals are very painfull and have a hard time staying down. If I take my time and eat small bites and chew my food - it doesn't give me any problems. Some of the problem food seems to be with chicken. I did eat "beef" 2 times and didn't have any problem. Usually, yogurt is no problem, but every now and then it does hurt a little. When I think about it, I think I ate the yogurt to fast. My question is - am i just really trying to get use to this and this is the way it is suppose to be, or am I overfilled. I'm afraid to get some removed as it will just be like it was before this fill and i will eat to much. I have only lost about 17 lbs since December 19th so this is really slow for me. :hungry: :help:  I am getting frustrated with this. Please help me.

I am 8 days post op and doing really well with Vitamins, staying hydrated etc but I am having so much trouble getting in Protein. A) Never hungry (My fantom stomach wants a cheeseburger but really, I am not hungry) I hate all the Protein drinks I was having before surgery and the thought of a Protein shake makes me gag. C) I can eat a protein tomato Soup packet with warm Water but I can only eat a couple of spoon fulls and then I am full for hours. D) The only thing I want, like and get plenty of is orange gatorade E) I can do a couple of spoonfulls of greek yogurt but once again, full for hours afterwards I am waiting for the great day when I can go to mushy food but I am affraid I won't be able to eat that either. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

My surgeon performs an EGD after being banded for one year to check that my band is where it's supposed to be...I had it last Wednesday (7 days ago)...since then I have had difficulty eating....as in if its "good" for me - it's going to get stuck or make me feel extremely full after eating maybe 1/2 cup....and eventually make me throw up...not only do I get the "stuck" feeling..but my stomach actually hurts. Normally every morning I eat a greek yogurt before I take my morning meds. .yesterday I couldn't even eat the yogurt. This morning I'm having trouble drinking coffee, but I think that's because I tried to eat a small baked chicken breast for dinner last night and it's still hanging around..... My question is, has anyone else ever experienced this after having an EGD? If so, how long did it last and did you do anything ? I almost feel like maybe I'm too tight right now..I know my stomach/band is irritated and swollen but is this a normal experience after an EGD?

Travelling After Lap Band Surgery On Puree Diet?
Cindy C replied to Fabsab's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had to drive 500 miles to a funeral three weeks after surgery. It was fine. I stopped along the way for yogurt, soup and pintos and cheese from Taco Bell. -
I'm 4 days post op and have felt the same way about hunger/heartburn on the all liquid diet. When I do start to eat pureed/soft foods, what do most people recommend? Greek yogurt is on my list, but still looking for other ideas. Thanks!

Every doctor does it slightly different on the preop diet. My recommended a 10 day liquid diet. I could have some juice, cottage cheese, Protein shakes, and yogurt. I actually ate some turkey and boiled eggs too while I was doing it. It wasn't that bad, you just kind of have to remind yourself that you've got what your body needs to keep going. I would wait until I was super hungry and then eat something small and wait again until I was super hungry. Most days I only got in 400-500 calories. After the surgery: I remember I woke up in quite a bit of pain, but I was also super out of it. They actually had me awake while I was still in the operating room. As soon as I got to post op they started giving me drugs and I felt way better. I had a pain pump. Push your button. Push it often. And if it's not cutting it, ask for something else. I got what was in my pain pump and something for inflation too. From that point on my pain was tolerable. You'll have to do a swallow test in the hospital, and it's pretty gross but once you're clear from that you'll be on your way to going home. I got to eat clear liquids in the hospital. My worst days were my first 3 days home. I had trouble standing for more than a few minutes. Make yourself move around as much as you can. My husband was great during this time, he waited on me hand and foot and was always there helping me up, to the bathroom, in the shower ECT. I'm on day 8 now, I'm still tired and sore but I got my staples and my JP drain out today so I'm looking forward to getting back to normal. The best things you can do to prepare is to focus on eating slow, and listening to when you're stomach is full. Try to find some protein you might like, but remember your taste might change after your surgery. Also stock up on things you'll need when you come home, like your Calcium and Multi Vitamins.

Banded on the 23rd ... I got questions!
Phantasmagoria posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi bandsters! As of right now im on stage 2 diet .. which consists of mostly Soup, applesauce and yogurt(which after this i never EVER ever wanna eat soup ever again) But I think all is going well .. i have lost 10 lbs since the surgery (in total i have lost 90 since july) But i have some questions that hopefully you guys can answer. #1: Im craving salt like no tomarrow, is this normal? #2 Since it is December its very cold out and i noticed that when i go out side for walks i feel my little stomach cramping up, did you guys get that feeling too? #3 How easy is it to stretch out your little lapband stomach? #4 Is drinking almond milk okay? #5 When i went in for the surgery i was still getting over a cold, do you think me coughing would mess up the staples/stitches arround the band? Thank you guys in advance! -
Not sure what phase you are on but you could bash em up and incorporate them into a homemade granola and sprinkle over yogurt. Or maybe incorporate them into rice crispie like bar or into a no Pudge browine mix.

My local frozen yogurt place has a no sugar/no fat option. That's what I chose the one time I've eaten it. It was good, but could only eat a couple of bites then was so full. I would try to get it that way if at all possible. Save on calories, sugars, and cabs.

They get a bad rap but brussel sprouts are great, just make sure to use only the tiniest ones, cut an x on the bottoms, and steam in chicken broth rather than water. Yum!! You can make a lot of vegetables like mashed potatoes; parsnips, coliflower, turnips, rutebagas. Made like mashies, with butter, greek yogurt, chives, salt and pepper, and they are goo-ood! Cabbage also gets a bad rap but is an amazing vegetable; make vinegar rather than mayo-based cole slaw, braise in a little bacon fat, saute, use as a thickening base for soups, cut a chop with crumbled bleu cheese and slivered almonds (just take your gas-X or beano hee hee). You can also sneek in your greens as wrappers instead of tortillas and as a substitute wherever rice is suggested in a recipe. stuffed peppers, yum ... early spring onions should be around the corner, onion soups are amazing!

Hey thanks, no I don't have a specific diet, the doc just said liquids and failed to specify what exactly that was...he just said soups, juices, and yogurt. gee..thanks.... any way, I thought about eating a protein bar last night because I felt so bad, if I'm feeling bad again tonight I might eat one. Because I'm really feeling like shit, by now the weakness should have passed, so I don't think I'm getting proper nutrition.
