    A bit of an update

Another great blog! Almost got a bit teary there when you reminded me of all the great NSVs I have coming up and already have some of them. I can actually cross my legs again. It's not comfy I find myself doing it. Can't wait until it feels boring and routine for me too. I just might get good restriction from the next fill. At least I have a small amount now. Can't wait to hear what your hubby has to say. Pop in every once in a while and say hello. We miss ya.

    March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD

Et tu, Stella? One of the things I love about Christine is that SHE doesn't have a damn Wii Fit! That MD's behaviour is outrageous! WTF does he think he IS?? And that you paid for it yourself makes it even more outrageous. If I were you, I'd share my opinions about that jerk in the appropriate forum on this board; just let people know what they can expect if they go to him. Really, someone needs a serious ass-kicking. Diva, I'm sorry to hear you're still a bit stiff - that'll ease with time. (And I'd like everyone to note how gracious I was with the Diva, who'll be waving her Wii in my face any day now...) (That doesn't sound quite Kosher, but you know what I mean!) Anyway, yes, it sounds like you've got too much of the restriction for which everyone is clamouring. The conventional wisdom seems to be to wait a little, see if things ease as you lose, but I agree with you: this process shouldn't be such a hardship. And PENNY! Congrats on a great NSV! That's the way it should be working... I'm actually trying to ease up a bit today exercise-wise - I've been feeling a bit of hip pain, so I'm going to slow down for a few days before I wear these bad boys out... But I've started doing yoga again, which feels really good. Perhaps tonight I'll do the longer program, which I haven't done for a while. I hope you're all having fun out there. Who's our barbecue fiend with the Sabotaging Sister? I hope she's having a special little treat today...

Weigh in... how much have u lost?

I was banded on May 20th- Doc didn't give me a pre-op diet- but he definitely should have. I wound up having an enlarged liver and they had some difficulties and came close to not performing the surgery. Thankfully, my band is in- which I have actually given a name= "Lily"... She is quite important to me and we have a long journey to get through together! At my pre-op appt, I weighed in at a whopping 282- my all time high. I was shocked! I am only 5'2"- so I must look like a little suma wrestler! LOL As of this morning, I am 269- bye bye 280's- bye bye 270's!!! I will Never be seeing you again!!! WTG everyone- anyone have an NSV yet? (Non-scale victory) I know it's kinda early, but those will be coming along Very Soon if not already!!! XOXOXOXOXO to all

Shrinkin' Violets- Part 2 Read Here

Kat, these are the NSV's I've been waiting to hear you post! Just think...every day it will get better and better. I am VERY sorry to hear that today was not a good one, but considering all the major work that was done, the fact that you're even posting is amazing! What do the other PS 'veterans' say about what to expect with the pain? 2-3 weeks?? Denise - You must be in heaven!!!!! He is just precious!!!

    Outfits as goals

I think the NSV's are the most rewarding as well. I always had to buy more clothes so I could fit into them. But now, I can wear what has been sitting in my closet for a while My shirts and pants are no longer tight and fit well. I am so excited!!!!

    Outfits as goals

I have been doing a lot of "closet shopping" lately, lol. I think a lot of us who have traveled up and down on sizes in the past have some items in the closet that havent fit right for a while but we can't bear to part with. It has been great!!!!! I also love that I can see the transition in a pair of pants from skin tight . . . looks good . . . omg, i need a belt :0) Another nsv is just being able to go clothes shopping and find cute, non-grandmotherly clothes that fit well. I wouldn't give my band up for the worlddd!!!!!!!

Congratulations!!! I have a pair of size 18 kahkis(?) that I really look forward to getting into.....its been quite a while....I also have some old 14s in my dresser somewhere I think. It will be a while since I am now a tight 22, but I know I will get there hopefully within the next year. A NSV is a non-scale victory and personally I think that they are even more motivating and rewarding than the number on the scale!

Congratulations on your NSV! You must be so proud of yourself!!! It never occurred to me to use clothing as a motivator, but that IS what gets my butt up and moving! Thanks for the tip!

    My awesome NSV!!

Cheers Melanie! That's a great NSV, congratz! I think it might be time to clean my closets again . . . but I think I'm like babedoe4 . . . I'm used to those big sizes, they are a security blanket. BUT . . . there's NO going back this time! :rolleyes2:

    Share your NSV's

well, the scales are dropping more slowly these days. It dawned on me last night that I think it is key now more than ever, that I look for and Celebrate NSV!! Here are some of the latest.... - My bra size is now 38D - I keep getting clothes out of the closet, put them on just to take them off and put them in the too big pile. - DH continues to notice me more and more. - sex is GREAT!! - Bought "sexy" panties. I have worn "granny Panties" for years. DH couldn't keep his hands off me. We have been together for 17 years. It's so fun to rekindle our love life - I feel attractive for the first time in many many years. - SHAVING MY LEGS IS SOOOOOO MUCH EASIER, and takes about half the time. We all have NSV and when those scales seem to get stuck look for your NSV!!!! I can see so many changes that I have let the scales overshadow. WE ARE DOING THIS!!!!!!

    One Month Anniversary Check In

Hi everyone, My one month anniversary was 5/4 and I've lost a total of 34.5 pounds including the weight lost during the preop diet. I also have the realize band and have not had to have a fill yet. I still feel great restriction. I'm now working out at the gym (cardio and weights) and I feel great. Also, my BMI is finally under 50! Yay! That was one of my first little mini goals and I've done it! Life is good! Congratulations on everyone's weight loss and NSV's. Kim
  15. Congratulations both of you!!! The NSVs will surely be showing now. Start shopping in your closets.

    Non-Scale Victories!!

Ninja, those are great NSV's especially your blood pressure!!! Lets see: Yesterday I got a hubba hubba from a guy at work. I'm now moving into size 14's

    Non-Scale Victories!!

No one has posted in this thread for a few days, so I thought I'd bring it back. My NSVs of late: I have collarbones! I have just one pair of pants that fits me now (which kind of sucks, too, but I'm claiming it as a victory)! The bf has commented several times on my, uh, increased flexibility. Best of all, my blood pressure, which was at 139/90 in February, this morning was at 120/76! Woohoo! What NSVs have you guys had lately?

Hi Sue! That's great news about your son!!!! How does he feel about it? Man I wish we had insurance, that would make things a lot easier. I was self pay and unless I get back to work with a company that has insurance that covers WLS my son would have to be self-pay as well. It would be worth it but I just wish I knew if he had what it takes to be successful. He's the type that makes excuses for everything and I could see him doing that when it comes to eating. Please keep me posted on your son's progress! That is also wonderful news about your BMI!!!! I just calculated mine and I have a couple of more points to get out of the obese category! I'll just be "overweight"! How cool is that? I also understand about the crossing of the legs. I find myself sitting with my legs crossed all the time now as it was uncomfortable for me to do so before. I love these littlle NSV's! Thanks for the notice about the clothing exchange! I have so many clothes I need to get rid of. I will be sure to bring a car load! LOL
  20. Thanks, I'm working hard at it. It's not an easy task, but you already know that because you're working hard at it too I see! Feeling lighter is such a great NSV to this.

    Good luck!

  21. Hi Kidlings! I just got back from Safeway! I was starving! AND voila, they have their little peanut butter tasting area AND I remembered that I can eat Peanut Butter on the Plateau Buster diet! So I did! It hit the spot! Mal: Good girl! You did great yesterday! I know you had a hard time after returning from the gym, but you were victorious! That is what you need to focus on! You got through the first day! BRAVO! I promise it gets easier! I can't believe you missed your One year Bandiversary! Happy Bandiversary Ms Mal! Congrats on completing your first year! You look wonderful and I know you have been granted a whole bunch of NSV's! Michelle: Hey, Lovergirl! I missed you at RR this last time! It's not the same without you! My daughter and I are going to Seattle so I might PM you and you can tell me where I should avoid getting a hotel! It's so hard when you make reservations online, you never know where you'll end up! I remember staying in Flagstaff one summer, our hotel was practically on the railroad tracks! What a nightmare! We couldn't get an hour of sleep! Toot Toot!!! I'm so glad to hear things are going well with the man in your life! Minidriver: You can be sappy all you want! I know I appreciate everyone here! They are very sincere and very caring! Good people! BTW, we're glad you found us and Dr. K! Be careful on the bench - Shelbi can't keep her hands to herself! She's totally out of control with the poking and pinching! I think she needs to go to the Naughty Chair! (you know, I love you Shelbi!) Sidann: Don't worry about the scale right now. I gained after surgery from all the fluid in my IV's -- then I didn't lose for a while. I looked at my excel spreadsheet the other day and saw how I went up and up during that time. All in all the trend started downward around the 3rd week -- then when I started solids it went up again before heading back down. It's a time to heal! Don't work out too hard on your bike yet, Dr. K told me 3 weeks to let my body heal before I could ride my bike. Well, gotta go Ladies! (I'm not referring to JT anymore, since he NEVER comes here! Brat Boy!):cursing: Be good! dee~

    April Avengers - NSV!

Guys I had a huge NSV this weekend. My DD's 6th birthday was this past weekend. We rented one of those "jumping houses/space walks". My 10 month old nephew hadn't had a turn and I looked at that little door and thought there is no way my big rump will fit through there. It did! With Ease! After letting him crawl around and play some - I waited for all of the kids to go inside and crawled back in. I jumped and jumped and jumped. I would have NEVER been able to do that two months ago! It was so much fun. Nothing hurt afterward either. I was barely winded. I need a trampoline!!!

5/19/08 - The Day of the Second Fill

I am scheduled for fill #2 today. It was originally scheduled for the 21st, but my surgeon added another surgery so the office had to change my appointment. I'm not complaining; I would want someone to change their fill date so that I could get the band. I'm just glad that it was moved up instead of further away. I seem to be stuck. I am hungry. When I'm hungry I eat. I try not to eat too much, but I'm not one of those people that can walk around hungry. My stomach has a notorious growl - its so embarrassing.... I received 3cc during my first fill. I'm hoping for at least another 3cc this time. That would put me at 6 cc in a 14 cc band. I hope this offers a lot more restriction that I have now. I'm getting a little desperate - I am 2 months (on the 24th) post op and I am only down 1 lbs - heck I lost those 18 lb within the first two - three weeks post op. Since then I've been struggling to maintain. I'm glad that I am not gaining - boy am I happy about that - I just want to lose more. My goal was/is to be 280 by June 13th. That may not be possible at this point. If I lose 2lb a week from now to then that would put me at 288 lb. I guess that will have to do. I'm going to have to buckle down - really monitor what goes into my mouth so that I can drop those 8 lbs by June 13th. Then I'll start working towards my July 4th goal - originally I wanted to be 270 lb by then. I'll settle for 278 lb. I'm putting this in writing here because I need some accountability to someone other than myself. No one (except my immediate family knows about my band) so there's no one to push me to try harder (and no one to monitor every morsel of food I eat or whisper about me doing this the easy way - which is why I have chosen to keep this to myself). There are a few people here who have had the band - the conversation that some people have about them is ridiculous. I just don't choose to open myself up to that kind on intense scrutiny and ridicule - I feel like a gay woman whose afraid to come out of the closet - but then again I guess not - I have no idea what that kind of pain feels like and I don't want to compare my petty problems to that. Anyway.... If you guys don't see my ticker going down soon - BLAST ME!! Since that's the last thing I want to see here I will be doing my best to make that dag gone scale move! NSV - I have officially left size 4x behind. I had a peasant blouse that I waited all winter to wear. I put that gorgeous thing on and I was swimming in it!!!! My coworker - who is losing weight, gave me a brand new linen peasant shirt that she is now too small to wear (size 3x) it fit perfectly . WHOOO HOOO!!!! That’s right - I'm celebrating being a size 3x. Do the happy dance, do happy dance - spin it around and shake your body down - doing the happy dance ! __________________

    March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD

Hi Diva, Congrats on your NSV. I too was very happy when I was able to fit into smaller clothes. I thought that I was going to cry in the dressing room, because I was now able to buy clothes in a store that I could not fit into anything before. I think that we all need to celebrate the little goals and not just focus on the end the result. Keep up the great work.
