    Real Good Pizza Co

Here’s a recipe for a crust if you want to try to make your own — you can top it with whatever toppings you like. You might want to adjust for portions. I am pre op for a few more days but I will probably continue to make this post op when I am able to eat these foods. Recipe is for 2 pizzas Large can chicken breast drained and chopped up good 1/2 c Parmesan chz 1/4 c mozzarella chz 1 egg 1 tsp garlic powder 2 tbsp mayo of choice (I use avocado mayo) Salt and pepper Mix well Place on parchment paper and form into shape of pizza crust, not too thick... Bake on 475 for 10-15 min Flip cook addtl 5-10 ( should be held together and crispy) now add toppings Bake addtl 5-10 min

    ❤ JANUARY 2019 CHALLENGE ❤

My current struggle is head hunger. I think it's because another of my kids is moving out in about 10 days. Self-medicating. One is only about 50 miles away, but 2 will be 1,100+ miles away in Florida. The fourth one is still at home but will be graduating in September. I may chain him to the porch. Empty nest syndrome - big time!

    Hypothyroid Sleevers?

Yes, I also have hypothyroidism but hadn't considered how it's going to affect my weight loss post-sleeve. Good question! My surgery was 12/11 and I've lost 19 pounds.

    February 2019 weight loss buds

Hey my February surgery friends! I’m somehow surviving my liquid pre op diet. Today is Sunday and I’m down 10 pounds since Monday! I know the weight loss will be slower next week, but I really hope to get another 5 pounds off.

  8. Sleeved February 4, 2017 Bypass January 24, 2019 I had the revision due to acid reflux. I have a lot of discomfort in my upper back/shoulder area that I didn’t have after the sleeve. Yesterday I also had extreme constipation and think I may have pushed to hard (sorry TMI but I can’t find help online). Anyhow. I don’t have continual pain in my abdomen, just when I move and no leakage. It’s more the back pain/discomfort that is concerning me. Thinking about it it goes from mid back up to shoulders. I can only sleep lying on my back as I’m scared to lie on my side and end up getting up every 2 hours due to my back. So I guess my questions are: is this discomfort/pain normal? When should I be concerned? No vomiting, fast heart rate, nausea... I'm pretty sure the gas has passed now. Sorry this is all over the place. I hope this makes sense. It’s 136 am 😂

  10. Hey all! New to the site, joined today. I had my first appt with the surgeon on 1/15/19. i have a long list of things to get checked before the surgery. I follow a lot of fb groups and IG people who have done WLS and I see the pre and post op diet of broth and Protein Shakes and Jello. Ive been vegan for 2 years- I’m wondering what you guys used in place of broth and jello? I have ordered a few kinds of Protein Powder (most are only 21g per scoop/serving as opposed to 30g per whey Protein scoop). so I am a little concerned but hoping to find my way.

    January surgeries?!

I had surgery on 01/24, late in the day so that night was very bad, a lot of pain. It has been getting better each day. I do not feel hunger at all, I am only able to drink 1 oz of liquid at a time otherwise my sternum feels like it is getting kicked. My doctor has already introduced me to soft foods-yogurt-and it was the same thing, one oz otherwise there is pain. Starting to get around but after a bit, I do get tired so I take a break. I had my surgery in Kuala Lumpur and had nothing but the best experience, from the surgeon, nursing staff, anesthesiologist, to the dietitian, etc... Going to take it one day at a time. I have not weighed myself, will wait for the follow up appt. tomorrow.

    HUNGRY!

Hang in there. I, too, had my gastric sleeve on 1/9. I had to do two weeks clear liquid and two seeks fully liquid. Not sure there is really that much of a difference between the two. Here is what I do every day. I drink 8-10 ounces of water when I wake up. I then take a four cup measuring cup and pour in 3 cups of Fairlife Skim Milk and pour in a Pure Protein (I rotate chocolate and vanilla). I then drink about about 16 ounces over the course of two hours for breakfast and then the rest of it over the course of two hours for lunch or dinner (whatever is most convenient given what I am doing that day). Then I also make some Campbells soup, drain the broth, and drink that for my other meal. Lastly, I have another 8-10 ounces of water (or maybe tomato juice) before bed. DONE! 60+ grams of protein and 64+ ounces of fluids. Are you getting enough protein and fluids in every day??? If not, maybe this contributes to the hunger??? Obviously no expert here - just sharing what has worked for me so far. I realize tomorrow that may all go out the window.

    ❤ JANUARY 2019 CHALLENGE ❤

Jan. 26th: How I eat out: Usually I stick with coffee, tea or water if there isn't anything I can have, or I already ate. I also try to carry a protein candy bar around. I love grabbing something from a market way more than a restaurant. But during my Don't be DB 2019 Campaign, i practice flexibility while maintaining *some* control. Behold, Diner food w/my Ex... you know he paid, in more ways than one, and all the left overs were his 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
  15. Hi everyone! I’m scheduled for a revision on 2/19 for the RNY. I was originally sleeved 11/2014 and currently have awful acid reflux.
  16. My liquid diet was at noon Jan 6 and surgery Jan 7 2019. I had no complication what so ever
  17. I'm floored at how far I've come. I was sleeved on 10/17/18 at 265. My starting weight was 275 (though my highest was above 300) and I'm only 5'5". My personal goal was to lose 125 pounds, putting me at 150 pounds, and in the healthy BMI range. Today I clocked in at 216.2. I've lost over 58 pounds and am less than 5 pounds from being halfway to my goal. I'll probably be at the halfway point in a couple weeks. I'm freaking floored. I have hope that I can get to 150 someday. I know things will probably start to slow dramatically after another few months, but I've been putting in the work and am happy to continue doing so, even when things slow down. After all this worry and stress about following the plan and doing things right, and getting through stalls, I have found success, and I have hope.

    February bypass buddies?

everyone posting here...this is last year's February thread. You need to start a new thread for 2019.
  19. Well 🐭🐯it's me again. Had my endoscopy yesterday, Dr Noria let her senior resident Noah J Stinson do it. He stated the swell8ng in my pouch was down enough to dialate my opening, his belief is that two more dilatations and I will be close to all better. I don't know if I believe him. Came home , made a 1/3 cup of very runny mashed potatoes, started back up 27 minutes later and spent an hour puking and slime spitting. At 9 pm I finally kept down a small serving of boughten individual 90 cal- less than 10 carb. diet tapioca pudding, woke up this morning to right subcostal Pain just like before, sitting here trying to keep the Carafate down. If I succeed make myself a skim milk strawberry protein shake and sip all day. Do,i desire it? Heck no, think he made my jejunal ulcers ache and throb, Dr Noria said that was what that pain I first attributed to liver problems is. Frankly I would have preferred her, not a bait and switch where I got a stand-up. When I wasn't puking I fell back asleep sitting up, made my son peeved, but still slept more in bed in between bathroom runs. When you have 3 liters of fluid being infused you don't sleep too well any, more. I'm sitting here with the verdompt nausea he left me with. And the plan now, if it is the truth, 2 more months of this TPN. Really don't want anything oral, oh I will manage to get my meds down , but good? Forget about it, if it is only going to come barreling back up, its to my best interest to just let the TPN sustain me. He did ask how much p.o. fluid I took in Thursday, just under 64 oz. of propel, water, and Nestle Splash. I just aren't going to set the world🌏on fire, am I?

    Tailbone

I am not at goal and almost 3 months post op, but i was actually talking to my best friend about this last night on the phone. When driving, i am noticing i am tending to sit on the right side.. and its starting to get uncomfortable to drive.. as it hurts and the upper leg is starting to get the nummies while driving. Its only beginning so i dont know what it is, but if i sit too long now.. i have to get up and walk for about 10 min and then go back to what i was doing. I found it wierd, and not sure where the nummies are coming from, but starting to drive me crazy.

    New here! Revision patient!

I had a sleeve to bypass revision last October for reflux. I didn't want it either, but by 10 every morning my voice was hoarse and anything acidic or spicy burned all the way down my throat. I would wake up at night with acid in the back of my nose. I was taking the max dose of Prilosec 2x/day plus Tums as needed. My throat is nearly healed now. The main issue I'm having now is that I don't feel any restriction with the bypass. I had very tight restriction with my sleeve and I depended on it. Now I have to be much more conscious of portion sizes because my stomach won't say "No Mas!" Are you in maintenance or are you still losing weight?

    Stomach cramping

Hi, I’ve just joined this forum in the hope that I can gain some encouragement and reassurance! I had a sleeve done on Wednesday 23 Jan, and was allowed home yesterday afternoon. When I first came round I felt really sick, in lots of pain and waned to sleep a lot (fairly normal from quite major surgery I suppose!). I’ve already been through the regret phase and thinking OMG what have I done.....but think I’m starting to come out the other side of that quite quickly. I’m managing enough liquid - water, tea, broth, liquid ibuprofen and paracetamol, all fine. However.....no matter what I take down, I get like a gurgling sensation in my stomach as it’s passing down which then turns into a cramp. This happens straight away after consuming anything and lasts for 10-15 minutes, sometimes longer. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, how long for? Is this what’s known as dumping syndrome? I’ve told my consultant and he wasn’t concerned - just said it’s ny body getting used to the changes. Just wondered if anyone else experienced this to start off with.

How to Go about Lap Band Removal?

Thank you very much for all those who responded. It really made me feel better getting this support, even if only online. I have some good news. In a moment of desperation, I gave the bariatric group of the public health system in my city a call, not expecting much. I left the coordinator there a voice message explaining my situation. She got back to me a day later asking me to go to my GP and ask him for a referral to the group so that they could take me on as a patient! I can then decide then with the bariatric surgeon(s) that will see me what to do with the band. Monitoring it and keeping it in. Taking it out. Revising to another surgery, etc... I was so excited I couldn't believe my ears!!! I expected them to turn me away like they had done when I first moved here 7 years ago. Back then, they asked me to go back to my original surgeon as they only looked after their own patients! I suspect that with the high failure rate of the band, they realized it would just be unethical to turn patients who had done it elsewhere away when some of the band complications can be deadly. In all cases, I have an appointment with my GP in 10 days to ask him for a referral to the group. I really can't wait and for the first time in years feel like I will finally get the care and support I need. Given how things work here in the public health system, it may take a few months though before I am seen by the bariatric group, but better later than never I guess! On the negative side, I seem to have developed a chronic bad breath problem that I never knew about. My mom who has been staying with me for the last two weeks noticed it. No matter how much I brush my teeth, eat or not eat, it seems to be there. I suspect I have had this for some time without knowing it as I live on my own. I am pretty sure it's related to the band.
